Source system icons changes when connecting SAP BW to mySAP ERP 2004

Hi,
Just an Interesting observation in relation to the creation of source systems in SAP BW to SAP Web AS 6.40 based systems (mySAP ERP 2004, mySAP SRM, etc).
I thought it would be interesting to share!
The behavior is logical but can be a surprise for a BW administrator who is not aware of the new internal SAP BW systems within mySAP ERP 2004.
Scenario:
The customer was connecting a stand-alone BW system to two new systems with latest and greatest mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.00) and mySAP SRM.
Observation:
In the past the SAP R/3 source system would be created with a "SAP R/3 icon" indicating a SAP Source system.
As of mySAP ERP 2004, the source systems will be created in the SAP BW standalone system with the "SAP BW System icon".
Note: This is also the same behavior for new releases of mySAP SRM, and other SAP applications that are based on SAP Web AS 6.40 or greater
Why?:
The standalone SAP BW system is connecting to a system that contains an internal SAP BW system. The standalone SAP BW system determines that it is possible to extract both from the internal BW System and from the Plug-in extractors. It simply denotes that this source system is a SAP BW system and uses the BW Source system icon. (Remember SAP BW is client independent*!).
Note: This behavior will still occur even if you do not use the internal SAP BW system within mySAP ERP! It is there whether you use it or not.
Second Note: You can still use the ERP Content extractors from the mySAP ERP Source System as you did in prior releases.
Another related observation:
I would expect that this case will probably be true even if you only use the internal SAP BW.
Scenario: You use the internal SAP BW in another client in the mySAP ERP system than your ERP processing.
Result: The connection between the BW client and the ERP client source system(s) (i.e. client 001 for ERP, client 100 for BW), both the 'myself' and ERP client source systems, will show up as BW source systems!
Source system 001 and source system 100 will be displayed as SAP BW icons because SAP BW is client independent*
user master and authorizations are client dependent

I used my user id to login. I recieved a message :
User already exists in source system I continue:
Anothre window pops up : "Check RFC connection" and it asks
'RFC connection already exists in source system . Do you want to check, use or cancel source system connection'
Here I select Use - but i get an error : Error in source system'.
how can i track down this error.

Step 1. Select Source systems under Modelling in the left panel. In the right panel, right-click Source systems and select Createu2026.
Step 2. Select the FileSystem, manual meta data, data using file inte option, and then click to continue.
Step 3. Enter a name and a description for the source system, and then click to create the source system.
Now create an application component
Step 1. Select InfoSources under Modelling in the left panel. In the right panel, right-click InfoSources and select Create application componentu2026.
Step 2. Enter a name and a description for the application component, and then click to continue. (BW automatically adds a prefix of "Z" to the technical names of application components, unlike the naming system used for other BW objects.If u give the name as AC_DEMO it will be saved as ZAC_DEMO in the system.
Now create infosource
Step 1.Select InfoSources under Modelling in the left panel. Right-click the newly created Application Component , and then select Create InfoSourceu2026.
Step 2. Select the option Master data/texts/hierarchies, and then click to continue.
Step 3. Enter your infoobject name, and then click to continue.
Now you will be asked
Infosource(name) assigned to Appln component(name)?
Click continue
Now go back to workbench and see the Infoobject listed under the Application component name (under Infosource)
Right click the infoobject name and select Assign Datasource
Enter the Infoobject name as Infosource name and the source system name and continue
Now you ll get datasource assignment confirmations for Infosource_ATTR and Infosource_TEXT for master data and text.
Click yes and continue
Now you ll be taken to the Infosource(master data) change screen
Source system name will be given
Below that u need to give the datasource name u2026.._ATTR
Click Activate.
Now Click the tab transfer rules
Copy the communication str infoobject names to an excel sheet
For ex if your infoobj are IO_MATNUM and IO_MATNAME (material number and material name) copy and paste as
IO_MATNUM      IO_MATNAME
MAT001     TEA
MAT002     COFFEE
MAT003     SUGAR
GIVE YOUR DATA IN THE EXCEL. AND CLICK File Save As CSV(comma delimited) and save to ur system. Give file name as something like infosourcename_ATTR.csv
Now back to the Infosourcechange screen
Source system name will be given
Below that u need to give the datasource name u2026.._TEXT
And activate
Now Click the tab transfer rules
Copy the communication str infoobject names to an excel sheet
GIVE YOUR DATA IN THE EXCEL. AND CLICK File Save As CSV(comma delimited) and save to ur system. Give file name as something like infosourcename_TEXT.csv
Now create Infoobject to load data

DS-BW:Data load called from BW failed after Source System program_id change

Hi,
In my BW 7.0 instance I have Data Services 3.2 as source system.
Some time ago I have changed instance of Data Services I am connecting to - I just changed PROGRAM_ID in RFC connection parameters for that source system.
Since that time when I am trying to execute infopackage to call a job I am getting following error:
OCI call <OCISessionBegin> for connection <xxxxxxx> failed: <ORA-01017: inv
where <xxxxxx> is Oracle database connection name for Data Services instance I connected originally.
What can be reason for that?

In Data Services Server Manager on DS box there were configurations for job server I connected originally and for the other job server. After removing original config it works fine.

FM CRM_PRIDOC_READ_OW works in source system but not when executed from BW

Hello All,
I have extended an extractor in the source system by adding additional fields.
One of the FM I've used is CRM_PRIDOC_READ_OW. When I run an extraction test in the source system eveything works and data does populates into the new fields.But when I run the infopackage from the BW side, I get an error message which saids the transaction has been terminated. I've been able to trace and pinpoint the possible cause of the error. When I do not call this FM, the infopackage finishes but I do not get data for the new fields and when I do call this FM, I get the error.
Has anyone experiance this issue before?
Your assistance will be much appreciated. Here is a portion of the code I wrote:

Thank you for your question. I think we mapped all the systems you show. Always the same error. Concerning your systems my transport log would say:
Source system R3DEV does not exist
We mapped this.
Any ideas? Is there maybe something in customizing to do what could be forgetten? The system is newly connected and there have never been a transport compounded to this source system before.

Source System conversion for several production SAP

Hello all,
What kind of customizing in table RSLOGSYSMAP i have to do ?
We have 1 DEV and 9 production system P01, P02, .... P09.
In the table i must insert 9 lines, one for each production system ?
DEV -> P01
DEV -> P02
DEV -> P09
Or i insert only one line
DEV -> P0X
and i change the table before each of the nine transport ???
I have to transport the same order 9 times ?

I think this must be done on the target system where you will mention the source and target fields .
You do not have to manually enter the values into the table - you can find this under source system conversion defined in the transport connection .
I think the source system just gives it current logical systems and then the target system will do the conversion and hence it will not be 9 entries in your DEV environment but 1 entry each in your productive environment.
Also you cannot have two entries for the same logical source system in this table.

Currently we are facing a big technical problem.
Our old sourcesystem client is 200 but it is changed to 400 now
But all the source system assignments for infosources are based on client 200
is there any solution for this issue

I think you can use BDLS program to convert the logical name of source system.

Our source System IP has been changed , is replication of datasources , infosources etc the only option?
Do we have any mapping method which saves us form replication .....
What should be the ideal steps to follow in this case

Once you maintain your new ip address in the sm59, you may need to replicate the data sources...if still you get problem then you may need to activate transfer structure using program 'RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL'...
if your source system id is changed then you need to maintain it in rsa1-tools--assignment of sources systems to source system ids....

IPhone speaker volume changes when connected to apple tv

If anyone has had this problem as well I would be interested but when I first got my iPhone 4S I realized it was loud. After disconnecting from the apple tv my max volume is lower. When I reconnect to the apple tv (by using it to play music from my phone) the my volume is louder again. Is this a bug or just my phone. Lol. And yes my volume is maxed out in both situations. It's almost like the speakers get boosted when connected to a different audio source.

You would need to connect the speakers to the apple tv if that is where the video is playing.

Icons changing when downloading reader, why?

When I download any version of reader, all my desktop icons change to PDF icons. Running Windows 7. What's happening?

Does ATT icon change when not on their home network?

Since the ATT contract only allows a limited amount of off network phone use, does anyone now how to tell if I'm out of their network?
Right now, I'm in Vermont which according to AT&T's coverage maps isn't part of their home network, but my iPhone is showing AT&T with five bars.
Does the icon change to a roaming icon or to an extended network icon if you aren't in an AT&T home network?

Bumping this since people now have more time with

Well, as long as you can call, you're either on their network or you're on one that has a roaming agreement. Cingular/AT&T has wide coverage, so I'm not sure where you'd find it. I'll be going to Europe soon (and I am going to get tons of questions from the locals I'm sure)--when I had other phones that always showed T-Mobile, when I got there it would show Orange, T-Mobile, Vodaphone, whatever. It was cool.
That will be the best test.

Error when connecting SAP CRM to SUP using JCO

we are trying to connect SAP CRM (v 7.0 Ehp1 SP3) to Sybase Unwired Server Platform 2.0 (installed on a 64bit workstation) using JCO.
Following the instructions into the following link:

With this configuration, we are able to connect to CRM from Eclipse (Sybase Unwired Workspace) but if we open Sybase Control Center, and we go to Domains -> Connections, we select CRD connection, we go to Properties then we click on "Test connection", SCC remains stuck with no responce. This issue does not allow us to connect to Sybase-SAP
using an Ipad application (the application remains stuck the same).
We also tried to install SapGui, but with no results. Did we place the right files into the right directories? Do you have any suggestions=

Error when testing connection from EP6.0 to ERP/2004

Hi this is Omar Poueriet and my case is the following:
Recently I finished to installed an EP60 SP19 based on Java+ABAP addin and everytime and then I logged on my EP system and define the corresponding settings for:
Connector property
User Management property
WAS property
ITS property
with their corresponding values at each stage, now everytime I try to test the connection in order to see that everything has gone fine, an error message is displayed at every defined connections, meaning the following:
"HTTP/S connection failed. Make sure the protocol, host name, and user mapping are correctly defined."
Please if any of you GURU's has any idea of what's going on this case, feedback ASAP, because I have some pendient task to complete based on EPortal 6.0 and ERP/2004 and that's STOPPED by the moment.

Don't worry if the connection tests fail. It is better to create an iView that uses the system and see if that works...

yes, it is possible, below you can find the official SAP statement regarding BC support:
"SAP note 571530:
SAP BC version 4.7 has been unrestrictedly available since June 2, 2003.
SAP makes SAP BC in versions 4.6 and 4.7 available to existing and new
customers according to the license agreement for the SAP BC. For details
of the agreement, see: http://service.sap.com/connectors.
Because the functionalities offered by SAP BC are or will in the short
term be provided by SAP NetWeaver components (for example, web service
functionality by SAP Web AS, IDoc conversion to an XML message by SAP
XI), no new version will be developed beyond version 4.7.
SAP will continue to provide new service releases (SR), bugfixes etc.
