Source to download spreadsheet files?
I'm looking for a spreadsheet file to run a high school golf tournament. I know somewhere there is a library of spreadsheet designs for various purposes, but I can't find it. There used to be an Apple Works group that had a large library of such things, but it's been so long since I've accessed it, I now can't locate it, though I assume it's now iWork.
Anyone know?

Try iWork Community, for starters. Apple fan Michael's numberstemplates.com. The AppleWorks User Group public domain library still exists. You should also be able to use Excel templates. I know Word templates work in Pages. Then there is always Google.

when i download any file it works frequently and downloading start in a second but when i pause the downloading file & after some time when i open it,The downloading not start proper and after some time a message flash 'download error' source file could not be read please try again later or contact the server administrator.
I downloaded the Microsoft Autoruns package and ran it. There are no programs in the LSA Providers tab, and Apple's Bonjour is the only program in the Winsock Providers tab. I also did the "netsh winsock reset" and rebooted. It didn't fix the problem. Any more ideas?

When I download certain files(most often exe files), I'm not able to open the source folder anymore when the download is complete. Neither can I execute the exe file. It often forces me to redownload the file in google chrome and then I go to the source folder and right click properties and I have to unblock the file. Only then I'm able to start the exe file.
FYI: I use vista, so that might be the problem by itself...It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Screen Saver doesn't allow SOURCE SELECTION but automatically begins to download unknown files. I have to force quit, but it does the same thing each time I try to select a source.

You need to sync them in iTunes and download them there, then simply open them from the folder where they are stored in other programs.

Is there any way to download these files manually from another source? The download from boot camp keeps stopping at around 25% and then produces the error "Can't download Windows Support Software because of a network problem". Thx!
No. This issue is dicussed here frequently. The only option is to be patient and try often. Search this forum for other posts about this issue.

can I set up e-mail to automatically download attached files from a trusted source to a desktop folder? Can't find the option (if one exists) in "Rules."
Have you checked Mail > Preferences > General > Downloads folder - change that to desktop. That should do it (that is my setting and it works here).

How to download a file from Middleware server
Hi,
I have a requirement to list file names in a table layout and when user clicks on file name, file must be downloaded to the client tier. Source files are located in 11i Apps middletier.
I did not find any examples on how to achieve this using OAF. All I see is downloading file from BLOB inside a database.
please help..OAMessageDownloadBean is the bean that lets you download a file from middletier.

How to download a file from a table not in the parsing schema
We have a table in another schema which holds files in a blob column. I can create a form on this table and the file upload works fine. The file browse page item has the source as the blob column and storage type "BLOB column specified in Item Source attribute". The download link generated for the page shows a call to apex_util.get_blob_file and the parameters are correct. However, when you click on the link you get a Page Not Found 404 error. Same error in Apex 4.1.1. The plsql error is:

I am not sure that the post explains everything as the "Automatic Row Processing" and "Automatic Row Fetch" process work fine on this page and therefore security should not be an issue.
Thanks for the view suggestion, but I am not sure that a view is a good option for us because the parsing schema does not have create view privilege and therefore the view would be difficult to install and maintain. We will problably end up with a custom download file process.

Firefox crashes when downloading a file
Firefox crashes whenever I try to download ANY file. If I right click + Save File as, if I'm downloading from Rapidshare, as soon as the file window opens, Firefox crashes. I've already tried deleting downloads.sqlite, and that didn't work. This happens every couple of months, and it's really starting to annoy me, because I've never been able to find a straight answer.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.

Changing filename when downloading generated file
The scenario:
There is a list of files that logged in users are able to download. The files themselves are not kept within the web root, as we need to be able to ensure that a user has rights to download the file. To do this I have created a JSP page which (a) checks that the user is logged and has appropriate permissions, (b) sets the content type to something the browser does not understand (to ensure the file, which is basically just text is downloaded instead of just displayed in the browser) and (c) gets and includes the content of the file using java.io.File.
The problem:
... with this approach is that it uses a link which looks something like thefile.snd. This means that the file name in the save dialogue always defaults to 'getfile.jsp', when it needs to default to 'thefile.snd'.
Any ideas? I've considered using an signed applet to do the download and rename the file but would like to avoid this if possible (although if anyone has the source for such an applet that would also be helpful).Thanks for the post clem. I keep getting the message: "what should Firefox do with this file" in Windows XP every time I want to download a file, e.g., adobe, excel, etc. How can this annoying message be deleted? The check box to "open file automatically" does not work!

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Acrobat Reader DC one source of pdf attached files
I have a MacBook Pro and found that since updating to Acrobat Reader DC there is one source of pdf attached files that do not open (I just get a black screen).
I do not have this problem with my iPad nor with an iMac also running the same reader.
I cannot find any 'switches' that will resolve this problem. I get an error message saying that Acrobat Reader DC could not open "File reference" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged. This cannot be the case as this file opens on other computers so it has to be localised to my MacBook Pro. Other pdf files open normally and I am at a lost in deciding as to what is going wrong and how to rectify.If the same attachment can be viewed successfully on other devices, then it must get corrupted during the download on that one machine.
People should really stop sending e-documents as attachments, it is much safer using a file sharing service such as Acrobat.com - upload and share the document, then send the download link via email.
