Source window video won't play, only audio - can someone help?

First time on this forum. Using Pr CS4. After capturing DV clip and opening in the source window - if I click on the play button in the source window the video makes a movement like it is going to play but then freezes. The audio from the clip still plays. I can scrub the clip in the souce window just fine. Could it be that I don't have some of the playback settings selected correctly. I should note that I have already put the clip on the timeline.

Quarter rez is like built-in proxy editing, and works well here. Just follow the workflow guide for the latest version of the RED plug-in.
The new workflow guide says this:
Please note that the presets have been updated. For the new fractional resolution feature to be enabled, you must be using a preset from this release. Pre-existing timelines will need to be copy/pasted into a newly created sequence for the new decode options to become available.
Does that apply to you?
The latest version of the plug-in also has a "new" Source Settings dialog. Format/resolution are now done on-the-fly from the Program Monitor display settings. I include that info only on the off chance that you haven't noticed it yet.

Hi there,
We recorded a 1 minute video using Cyberlink Youcam (the one on the 8.1 apps page, as opposed to the one with shortcut on the main desktop page - Youcam5.) We can see te screenshot of the video, and hear the audio for entire duration of recording, but the video screen is only green. Help please!

I understand that when you tried to playback your recording from YouCam 5, you can hear the audio, but the screen remains green.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Is you Direct X, Adobe flash player and or Direcrt X up to date?

Try putting it into "Disk Mode" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Then with it in this mode connect it to the PC and try to run the latest iPod updater to do a restore and update software if you have the option. the latest iPod updater is 2006-03-23 and can be downloaded here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

What do you mean "Leave them my laptop again"? do you mean you have had it worked on before? for the same problem or a different one?
You need to take it in to Apple ASAP. No matter how long they have it, you want it fixed and fixed correctly.

According to Microsoft support website, Windows Media Player still won't support MP4 files. Though we can make WMP play MP4 video by install some codec, sometime we still encounter can't play MP4 in Windows Media Player issue. MP4 is a container format which may contain multiple video and audio streams. And the video and audio stream can be encoded any of several ways. If the MP4 video or audio codec is not WMP installed codec supported one, Windows Media Player won't play MP4 video of this kind. In order to solve "Windows Media Player won't play MP4 files even when the appropriate codec is installed" and to successfully play any MP4 video in Windows Media Player, we had better convert MP4 to Windows Media Player more supported video format like WMV, AVI. Video won't play but audio will.

Whenever I try to playback my video, the playhead will move but it will stay in the frame I started from and won't play the video, but the audio will play. I;ve tryed rendering everything, restarting my computer, and cleaning the cache but none of that will work. I tried exporting the video and it played fine but it still would do the same thing when I went back to editing. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Does it have anything to do with me only having 4gb of ram?

DVD videos won't play, although audio works?

since upgrading to 10.8.4, DVD videos, including rental movies, discussions from teaching sessions, and conversions from home movies won't play, although sound is audible. Video player is "App version 5500.38.2; Framework version 5.7.1. I have rarely used DVDs on the machinge, but did work fine in past. Any suggestions appreciated

What comes to mind is that the DVD player will only work with certain original Apple manufactured DVD drives. (Licensing issue since Apple pays a license fee for the MPEG software on the DVD drive.) Are you using the original built-in drive? VLC doesn't care about the license but states that it is up to the user to insure proper licensing. Look in About This Mac to see what information it has about the DVD drive. Perhaps it is somehow sending the wrong information.
Can you view MPEG movies on the Apple site. For example the movie trailers.

Same thing happened to me today. I wasn't even using the phone for the past 6 hours and suddenly I can't connect to the internet, none of my internet apps would work - nothing. I tried to call AT&T from the iphone and it locked up - couldn't turn it off, change to the home screen - nada - brick.
Did the Home/Power button thing and that worked but this I've only had this phone for about 4 weeks and it's locked up more times than my 3GS did the whole two years I had it! Ridiculous

Movie won't play only audio

I thought i could figure this one out by myself but so far no success.
I have a track with 38 short movies and using story markers so i can have the option of playing all or just single movies. My problem is 2 of the movies do not play through the story markers (does not simulate as well), it stays black and only the audio plays. I already tried everything, even rebuilding the track, once it worked but as soon as i exited DVD studio and reopened the file, same problem.
It seems the movies themselves are fine, the marker on the track also works since i can simulate but the story marker accessing that track seems to be the problem
Any help is greatly appreciated

Good idea i will try that. although it is not just the simulator, if i hit play with the specific story marker selected the same happens and if i hit pause, the black goes away and there's the still image of the movie, but as soon as i hit play again, only the audio plays and video goes black again.
I hope i am making myself clear. I will probably retry building the track and story markers from scratch to see f it works

5G Video iPOD stopped charging via USB: can someone help?

I bought 5G video iPOD last month. After about a month of charging via USB 2.0 port on WinXP desktop, iPOD no longer charges with USB port. If I connect it to desktop, it syncs songs and shows its charging but in fact it does not charge. As it can't sleep, its loosing power. If I hook it up in the night, its discharged in the morning.
I tried to charge it in the car (with car charger), iPOD charges fine. I have tried to change ports, tried different computer (laptop) and also sent iPOD for service, NOTHING HELPS!
I sent it for repair to Apple, but i got it back in 1 week saying its is perfect condition and no other details. (Very disappointed with Apple's lack of service)
Right now, I am stuck with iPOD not charging with any USB port. How do I solve this? Can the usb ports suddenly become low powered from high powered? Please advice.

Video on ipod nano very blocky: can someone help me with this issue?

So the new ipod nano with 4GB is very nice, and video was a big reason I wanted it. Unfortunatelly, a few videos turn up very, very blocky and corrupted while they look smooth as ever on my computer screen in all it's MPEG4 glory. 2 minute video with file sizes as large as 10 MB end up looking like junk. But, even though I use the same file types (MPEG4) among all my videos, some videos work great while others don't.
Is this a problem with my iPod and I need a new one?

What type of videos are these? From DVDs, itunes, ect? Or lower quality stuff like Youtube? Are you using a program to convert video files so you can use them on your nano? If so what app? The nano and ipod classic seem to work best with the file format h.264 up to 640x480 res.

I moved my Itunes media folder to 'Music\Public' now Itunes cannot find songs, nor can I when I search my hard drive for songs (*.mp3)

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.
The only exception is itunes purchases:File>Transfer Purchases

I recently installed Yosemite and since I have my Windows Parallels Application is not loading. Can someone help?

I just upgraded to Yosemite and I cannot open Parallels. I am clicking on it and nothing happens.

What version of Parallels are you using? I received a notice that 9 is compatible, but must upgrade to latest version. To take full advantage of Yosemite they recommended purchasing an upgrade to Parallels 10. I have the latest 9 version, with XP installed and it is working fine (if I must use Publisher!)
