Sourcefire - Malware cloud lookup fails with 'cloud lookup timeout'

Hi,
I am performing malware clould lookup using FirePOWER on ASA. I see the file event when I transfer the file, but the FireSIGHT is unable to  submit the file SHA-256 for cloud lookup. It times out. The FireSIGHT management IP is able to access the Internet.
Does the malware cloud lookup need some subscription for it to work? I am running this in a lab setup with malware license.
What could be the reasons for this lookup failure. Due to this, the file disposition is 'unavailable'
Another related question. If my file policy action is to BlockMalware, and if the file disposition comes as unknown or unavailable, will the file be transferred or blocked?
Appreciate any help.
regds,
Mohan Muthu

There was an cloud issue which was resolved after I opened a tac case, looking good here now since tuesday,

Creative Cloud update fails with "the download appears to be corrupted" when tried through our company's firewall, but succeeds if the computer is taken outside the firewall. The IT guys have opened up the ports and URL's specified in the Adobe documentation.  I have also captured the network traffic of both the failed and successful downloads for IT to examine (using Little Snitch), however they can find nothing to account for the problem.  Adobe just seems to "give up and die" after about 2-3 minutes.  Why is this?  How can I or IT fix this?
Can I send the above log files to someone familiar with these issues for examination?

    Hi Gveo,
Please follow the article: Creative Cloud Help | About Creative Cloud Packager which will help you to get your issue fixed.

  • RMI tunneling: JNDI lookup fails with : Disconnected: Type code out of range, is -29

    9iAS Release 2
When trying to tunnel through Apache to the OC4J_home instance using ...
    http:ormi://<host>:<HTTPport>/<application> <admin><password>
and then looking up a JNDI name ...
    TopicConnectionFactory connectionFactory =
    (TopicConnectionFactory)new InitialContext(p).lookup("jms/myTopicConnectionFactory");
I get a NamingException thrown, with the message: Disconnected: Type code out of range, is -29.
The jms.xml file is correct. It works against a standalone OC4J instance (therefore no tunneling) ...
    ormi://<host>:23791/<application> <admin><password>
I'm connecting from a standalone client and using the RMIInitialContextFactory, the tunneling is working (changing oc4j username/password gets a SecurityException). What's missing? Do you have to change the jndi name when tunneling? What does -29 mean in english?

Tunneling through the Apache HTTP server to an OC4J instance from remote standalone clients works on Linux installations of 9iAS but not on NT installations, failing with a 'Type Code out of range, is -29' error, JVM versions on client and server are the same. Also works against a standalone version of oc4j on NT, what's happening?

  • New Edge server fails with DNS lookups - incoming mail stuck in queue

I just setup an Edge server, together with 2 Ex2013 servers with DAG. Sync works fine, however incoming mails are stuck at the edge server. The queue looks like this:
451 4.4.0 DNS query failed. The error was: DNS query failed with error ErrorRetry
Checking the logs, it also shows errors like this:
    2014-07-12T16:32:06.599Z,08D16C05D02E2774,SMTP,"ex2.internal.contoso.com,ex3.internal.contoso.com,ex4.internal.contoso.com",>,DNS server returned ErrorRetry reported by 0.0.0.0. [Domain:Result] = EX2.internal.contoso.com:ErrorRetry; EX3.internal.contoso.com:ErrorRetry; EX4.internal.contoso.com:ErrorRetry;
2014-07-12T16:32:06.599Z,08D16C05D02E2774,SMTP,"ex2.internal.contoso.com,ex3.internal.contoso.com,ex4.internal.contoso.com",-,"Messages: 0 Bytes: 0 (The DNS query for 'SmartHostConnectorDelivery':'ex2.internal.contoso.com,ex3.internal.contoso.com,ex4.internal.contoso.com':'e01d6f93-e25b-4e36-9f2f-c1c7c73889ae' failed with error : ErrorRetry)"
Now the network is a little special, as the edge server is not in DMZ, but simply in a workgroup in the same LAN as the other Exchange servers. The edge server NIC's are configured to use the internal AD DNS servers, and the edge server is able to lookup
all the other exchange servers (ie. ex2.internal.contoso.com).
So I wonder why the edge servers logs DNS lookup errors as long as the server it self can lookup the internal hostnames for Exchange.
Any help would be great, as all incoming mail is now stuck at the edge server.

I have received the error code 87 when attempting to update Creative Cloud. I had previously received an update for Acrobat Pro (not the CC version), and the install failed. Now I cannot install any Adobe product. How do I resolve this issue? Rather important that there is not a long delay.

If you are on windows computer, Open Task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys
Locate and end all Adobe related processes, like Creative Cloud, Core sync, AAM update notifier, Acrobat updater, AdobeArm, Acrotray, Adobe installer.

you might need to add it as a resource for your bean in your ejb-jar.xml file, as follows
    <enterprise-beans>
    <entity>
    <ejb-name>RaceControllerBean</ejb-name>
    <resource-ref>

  • Lookup Field with a Lookup Query on Process Form in OIM 11gR2

Does anyone know how to render a field on a process form so that when modifying the field for the resource a "Search and Select" window appears and allows the user to search for the value based on the lookup query defined for the field in Design Console? The lookup field has been defined as a lookup query through Design Console and tested by previewing the form in DC. When creating the Form through OIM System Administration the field is created as a Text Field, not a Lookup. Creating a new Field through OIM System Administration only allows you to create the field using a lookup code not using a lookup query. I've tried to remove / add the field in the UI (create sandbox, customize, etc.) and add it back as a Input LOV but it doesn't get added and the error in the logs say java.lang.RuntimeException: Input LOV is not supported for this attribute, please make this attribute searchable in order to drop this as an input LOV. The field is defined as searchable in the Form Designer in OIM System Administration. In fact I can't even add it back as an ADF Input Text Field w/ Label, I suspect I'll have to "Regenerate" the form to even get it back on the form. Any help is appreciated. Next step is to try to export the sandbox, massage and import.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Finally got an answer out of Oracle after trying to figure this out as well. Apparently Lookup Queries are not supported at all by the R2 Web UI. They indicate that according to product management this will not be fixed.

  • Bridge update to Lollipop fails with "UE ping timeout"

There was a problem downloading the latest software version for your Xperia device.
    Description: UE ping timeout
    Sony Bridge 4.0(4003)
Progress bar stops at 20% when this error happens. Retried 20 times.
I don't think I'm alone with this problem.

I suspect that there are some issues in the backend..... I was getting the same error. Would get no more than 20% through before the timeout. Sometimes less. I then tried a Windows machine and it came up with "unable to communicate with sony update engine (error 11)"  errors. Search for the thread "unable-to-communicate-with-sony-update-engine-error-11" (can't provide a direct link) where people are stuggling with it. Some have said various things like reinstalling the software has helped, but I suspect that has been more a coincidence rather than causal.
Anyhow, I tried the windows software again, but fired up a VPN (using cyberghost, connecting to a US server) and I got past the error 11 issue. Makes me think that the problem may be with whatever physical server(s) is providing the updates in my region (Australia). Will see - can't confirm as the vpn is really slow - at the moment it's estimating 3 hours to download the software.....
Oooh - had hit 4 hours and getting worse, so I killed the vpn connection... and now it's dropped down to 20 mins and dropping.... fingers crossed!

In order to get a reference to you EJB Home interface from JNDI, your
application has to have an access to the stub of this interface. This stub
is generated by WL tools when you deploy your EJB. Because your servlet runs
inside the server's VM, it has an access to this stub by default. So just
include these stubs in CLASSPATH of your test program and you will see the
    difference.

  • When editing .ccp file fails with "corrupted package" error

    Hello.
I usually créate packages on my local computer, and then copy them to a network drive, for deployment.
However when I try to edit a package I made, the creative cloud packager fails with a "Selected package is corrupt" message. I tried to map the folder to a network drive, or copy to a local folder but it doesn't work.
It seems to only work if I copy it in the very same folder where it was created. However, I have a few packages of which i don't knwo the original location.
What can I do to edit this packages?
    Thanks.

Hi alisterblack.. Thanks for your response.
But, how can I know the cause of "selected package  is corrupt"..? I never touch that .ccp file.
I downloaded the full package some months ago in one virtual machine which already been deleted. I got the full package of 13 GB then I moved them to my file server and now it is successful to be deployed with 2,5 hours to complete each computer. So this full package is valid, however the time to deploy is unacceptable and I need to edit the package. How come your package manager refer to cache instead of the full package that is already downloaded completely?
Can you make your Adobe Package Manager has ability to edit my downloaded package? Or alternatively, is there any other method to deploy/install the selected Adobe program one by one?
I hope you know how it is
-when it takes 2,5 hours to complete the installation to a client computer with Core i7, 16 GB of RAM
-when it takes the whole night (more than 7 hours) to download some gigabytes of your packaged while my internet connection is 80 Mbps
-when I re-download to re-build the package, the chance to success is 50% with the same error message [ERROR] AdobePackageBuilder - Failed to unzip the file blablabla..
    Thank you for your understanding.

We have developed interfaces that execute a lot of RFC's from Message Mapping, by making use of RFC Lookup API.

However, when a big number of Idocs with lots of items is sent to XI some messages fail in XI because mapping fails with a runtime exception that is not correct, since there is a return value found from the execution of the RFC function. And when I am testing the mapping in Test mode of XI IR, the mapping is executed successfully.
Do you think that by increasing the maximum number of connections in Communication Channel, it will take effect?

  • DNS lookup failing on Macbook with Fios

    Hello all
I've had Verizon Fios for over a year and had no problems connecting wirelessly to my MacBook.  Out of the blue today, both my MacBook and my brother's began to have issues accessing the internet.  Every attempt would yield the same response:
    This webpage is not available
The server at google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the web service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this web page later.
Check your Internet connection. Reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Check your DNS settings. Contact your network administrator if you're not sure what this means.
Try disabling network prediction by following these steps: Go to Wrench menu > Preferences > Under the Hood and deselect "Predict network actions to improve page load performance." If this does not resolve the issue, we recommend selecting this option again for improved performance.
Try adding Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or check with your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, try the following steps: Go to Applications > System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies and deselect any proxies that have been selected.
Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address.
I called Verizon for support, and while their reset of my internet has allowed me to connect directly from a ethernet cord from my router, I'm still getting the same result on any attempts to connect via wi-fi.  Since Verizon decided it was a Mac issue and not a Verizon issue at this point, they pointed me in the direction of applecare, but I don't have the money to spend right now on a support call.
It seems that the router is connecting to the internet, and I can connect through ethernet, but their is a problem with the wireless communication between my computer and the router.  Any suggestions?

That is a different issue. Most likely, your university IT has misconfigured their network and only tested it on Windows where little details like TCP/IP subnets aren't even checked. This sounds pretty typical for university IT. Unfortunately, you will have zero luck getting them to fix the problem because they don't support MACS.
First of all, your question is pretty important and shouldn't be tucked inside a Verizon FiOS thread where no one will see it. I suggest starting a new question so that people looking for this topic in the future can find the answer.
I am familiar with this problem. It is an IT configuration problem. I just rolled my own hack for it. I should probably try to improve my hack since obviously other people are experiencing the same problem.
Before I get started. Why are you even looking? What is the exact problem that you are having? My problem was specific to VPNs but your issue seems even more basic than that. What, exactly, does or does not happen to cause you to search for a fix?
In the Terminal, run the command "scutil list". How many DNS entries are listed? What are they? You should have one that says "State:/Network/Global/DNS". Type "show State:/Network/Global/DNS". What does it return? Are these the DNS servers that you added?
Let me know the respones to the above and then I can craft a command that will correct and possibly override those servers properly.

I assume here that your application is deployed on a different physical machine of where LCES is deployed and running.
    Do the following test:
    - Say that LCES is deployed on machine1 and your application is deployed on machine2. Ping machine1 from machine2 and note the ip address.
    - Ping machine1 from machine1 and note the ip address.
    The two pings should match.
    - Ping machine2 from machine1 and note the ip address.
    - Ping machine2 from machine2 and note the ip address.
    The two pings should match.
Usually this kind of error would happen if your servers have internal and external ip addresses.
