Sources/docs of JCE & JSSE

I can find neither the sources nor the javadoc of JCE and JSSE. On the pages of sun there are just broken or missleading links. There are some sources on third party pages, but I'd like to get a complete and up to date code.
I'm sure, I had once the JCE source and docs (obtained from sun in a time they had better web pages), but after an update I lost them.

There is not exist other .so

"Broken" MD5 and SHA-1: Any measures available/needed for JCA/JCE/JSSE ?

Dear Experts
As security reports emerge saying MD5 and SHA-1 algos being broken I d'like to know what this means to us as longterm users of Sun's JCA/JCE/JSSE implementations within 1.3.1, 1.4.2 and 1.6 JRE / JDK.
Main area of our usage:
- Key and certificate generation by keytool and/or openssl
- TLS communications with above material from jks keystores and SunPksc11 along with smartcards used with java client and servers, webbrowsers and servers.
A common recommendation I've got regarding SHA-1 is to upgrade to SHA-256, 384 or even 512.
Is this feasible / needed for above applications?
What about MD5?

Internal order discription in source doc

Is it possible to have the description of the internal order to appear on the source document (Cheque Payment Voucher, Cash Payment Voucher or Material Requisition Note).
If so pls advice on that...

Hey Felipe,
You must have chosen Mexican Peso as Internal Order currency, because when you settle the order then Order gets credited in the object currency i.e. Peso. Moreover, if you have maintained OB22, then Balance Sheet account where Order has been settled would show all Parallel currency in BSEG. or FBL3N.
or change the order currency.

Create followup transaction where source doc has only product category

Hi all,
I have configured the system to allow creation of follow up sales order from opportunity. I have done all the necessary configuration relating to copy copy. When the opportunity has products, I was prompted the sales order transaction type for selection and all works well. However, if my opportunity only has product category maintained, I only get appointments and tasks list and the sales order transaction type that I created was not on the list. Is this standard or that there is something I can do with it with further configuration?
Appreciate any help on the above.

This is pretty much what I guess too but just want to be double sure Just want to clarify, there is however an item category assigned for the source document. This is based on the configuration in Item Category Determination with the transaction type being assigned a blank item category group.

Why are linked documents randomly out of sync with source docs?

Regarding RoboHelp’s Link to Word feature…
I have a RH 9 HTML project on my local drive with several hundred help topics that are “linked as references” from Word documents on a network drive. All was well until recently… several of the linked help topics are showing as “out of sync” even though the source documents have not be changed or moved. The out of sync topics all seem to be randomly picked, and when I update one topic to get things back in sync, another topic appears out of sync. It is not project specific, because I created a new project and created links to the same Word documents and the out of sync issue happened again. I tried removing the cpd file and opening up the project so that a new cpd file is generated, but the problem persists.
Any thoughts on why this is happening? Is it some sort of connection issue?

Hi, I understand about the mismatch…the problem is there shouldn’t be any mismatches, because the source documents didn’t change at all, and no updates were made to the html help topics in RoboHelp. The mismatches appear for no reason that I am aware of. They are very random and I can “fix” the mismatches by performing an “update” for a few linked topics, but then a few more mismatches randomly appear.
I don’t use a Master Page…can you think of anything else I should look into?

I have children's books in Japanese, Chinese and Arabic that I am trying to convert into epub formats that ibookstore will accept. My source docs are in ms word or pdf format. I want to use ibooks author for this purpose. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Is there an easy way of importing the children's books into ibooks author? There is an image on every other page. The books has to be in fixed layout format.
Any help will be sincerely appreciated. I understand that ibookstore will accept only epub 3.0 formats for Japanese titles. As I stated earlier, my objective is to make those language books available in ibookstore.

If you mean keep the same as original, I wouldn't expect to retain that, sorry.
You'd be obligated to either copy/paste in sections/blocks of text, images, etc. or insert from Pages/Word, but either way you can expect to have to rework towards whatever 'fixed' layout you need in an iBA book....that can mean significant work in some examples.
You may want to work with a sample to find out the best workflow in any case.

I was just having this issue, after months of error-free ssl behavior, on a new machine i was installing (Note: that I was running the IBM jdk1.3) It turns out that when I was editing the java.security file to know about JCE/JSSE providers i had the providers in the wrong order. The Error causing sequence was:

JSSE in J2SDK 1.4..2: wher is jcert.jar?

I upgraded to JDK 1.4 and there it says that JSSE is now integrated in the JDK (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/guide/security/jsse/JSSERefGuide.html#WhatsNew). but where is jcert.jar? the jdk 1.4 directory only has jce.jar and jsse.jar. and if i just add these two jars in my classpath, my formerly working code now throws this exception:

Error Message when importing Word Docs

I am attempting to import my RoboHelp for Word source docs
into RoboHelp HTML (both are version 6) and I am getting the
message that Word seems to not be responding.
One solution I found online was to load the SSWord.wll add-in
in Word, but Word won't let me load it. (I Get a message that it
can not be loaded).
Any ideas?

Unique issue with PDF to WORD .doc conversion with Acrobat Pro - any ideas?

I have been unable to solve the following issue when converting (save as...) PDF documents to Microsoft Word .doc using numerous methods. This could either be an issue that would be fixed in Acrobat Pro itself, or in MS Word - posting to the Adobe forums first.
PREFACE: I am attempting to use the converted .doc file with translation applications/software. Google Translator Toolkit is what I use the most, but ALL other translators are having this very same issue with the .doc file. --The source PDFs are product information from drug manufacturers in various countries that I need to have translated to English. I do not have access to their source documents, as they do not provide their own source docs for obvious reasons.
ALSO: I cannot use Google Translator toolkit to translate from PDFs directly - if you do that, it will attempt to translate a PDF and then export in an .html file, but it does not get the exact spacing of the sentences correctly, which leads to errors in translating - key things such as "can take with alcohol" and "do not take with alcohol". So that's out!
I am not having any problems with the resultant .doc file in MS Word itself. It looks right, the spacing matches the original PDF source perfectly, prints correctly, etc... Reference here on a product info sheet from Austria in German:
The problem: This is a screenshot from Google Translator Toolkit - the right side of the image - the spacing in the lettering from the .doc file I am uploading is not being read correctly, resulting in untranslated gibberish. (Note: this isn't a problem with the translation applications or software -- all are having this issue with .doc files converted from .pdf - this issue isn't present with any old .doc file that wasn't converted from a .pdf) -- It's definitely got something to do with some kind of embedded data in the .doc file that I cannot isolate!!)
My settings in Adobe Pro (convert from PDF to .doc):
Page layout: Flowing Text (this prevents the resultant .doc from having all of those text boxes, which also don't then work in translators)
Include comments: True
Include images: True
Run OCR if needed: True
Notes:
-I have run OCR text recognition on the source PDF files in it's specific language.
-I have edited the accessibilty of the PDF and have run the tag recognition and quick checks (to see if they solved the issue, which it did not - tagged or untagged, same problems!)
-I have exported the .doc BACK to PDF using MS Word's function, which results in a great looking tagged PDF. THEN I re-saved this new PDF back as a .doc - same issue.
-I have tried saving the PDF in all of the other formats that the translators accept. All have different issues. The only one that works consistently is saving to a .txt (plain)... The best is a .doc to .doc conversion, with all the original spacing. (I am not spending hours reformatting a .txt translation in word)...
I can't seem to find where this spacing data is in the .doc file!!!! (Changing the fonts, sizes, margins -- doesnt fix this either). I have tried so many methods...
Any thoughts on other things to try in Adobe Pro (or Word)?
EDIT: Here's an additional tidbit of info that may be the key to this... There's some kind of coding that is in the .doc that Adobe Pro converted from the source PDF that doesnt display in Word, but that is being seen by the translation programs....... I have no idea what these are, but I want to remove them!

I would suggest you look at the fonts that are being used. It may be a font issue that is not properly being read by the translation program.

How to know the source document for pasted page items

Hi,
I want to perform some actions on items before they are pasted (look at persistent data stored on the, if a conflict ask the user and either update or reject).
Believe I'm OK with the paste (document observer, in kBeforeDoMessageBoss where the change is kPasteCmdBoss, set global error code to kCancel to prevent the drop)
But... I can't think of any way to find the source document since the paste is from the scrap db. I've tried kCopyCmdBoss in the observer but that isn't hit (maybe I need to observe the scrap?).
Hope someone can help.

I'm afraid there is no silver bullet.
Again: Copy - Paste is actually a two-step copy, from source doc to scrap, then from scrap to destination doc. Only few (other) copy operations go straight from doc1 to doc2.
Just assume the special case that the source doc is already closed and purged for the second copy, your data should by then already be decoupled and self-contained. Besides the user might never actually invoke Paste.
Until CS2 or CS3 there used to be a subject at the scrap root boss, then it was optimized away, so you can't use observers.
As already mentioned above, if you have to translate UIDs especially of your own custom boss class, you can use a reference converter to look up the equivalent object in the target db (by name or other criteria) or eventually create it, then provide the replacement UID.
There might be other means for special objects (text / PasteData, owned item) but I'd have to investigate them myself if I run into the need.

Problem in Creating Source Files (Templates) for Original Application Files

I am trying to ccreate "Source Files (Templates) for Original Application Files" . I checked the link

I created a new DOc. type TMP with no statuses, checked in KPO, assigned no. ranges.
Created DIR & assigned the template file, checked into storage category. DIR no. 10000000390 created.
In Workstation application "DOX" in define templates for originals : doc. type: ZGA, application: DOX; language- EN; no - 01; In source doc- entered doc. type- TMP, doc. no.- 10000000390, part & version
Assigned for required source file copy" ZGA doc. type. -- Default Appl. as "DOX" workstation application.
Now created a DIR with ZGA doc. type, when clicking on originals , DOX prompted and clicking on "create with template" . TMP doc. 10000000390 template open in a new window. I edited & saved. close the MS word window. When comes to DIR, it prompted, Original was changed Do you want to save the original?.
clicked on yes.
Saved the ZGA DIR. When I saw the new ZGA DIR created it didn't capture. Where I went wrong ?

Following messages if you read, it may be clear.
By having templates in place we can utilize the pre-defined documents instead creating right from scratch.
Entries can be done in the Template and save the document.
Templates are used for standardization and uniformity. By using templates time consumption for creation of documents will reduce as most of the details are maintained in the master template and the same can be utilize by using the template when creating documents.
If in DMS editing functionality is not there what is the use of templates- documentation?

Converting Word DOC to PDF changes to PP

I'm converting a Word DOC to PDF, and my header has several Registered marks. In Word it looks fine, but the PDF has added the letter 'P' before and after, changing '®' to 'P®P'
I've tried the same source doc on two different machines, and tried using earlier revs of the source doc.
I'm running Word 2003 SP3 and Acrobat 7.0.0.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

I agree with John that the version level may be the issue. Typically the first release of each version is buggy. Often the problem seems to be with the fonts - maybe the source of your problem. It might be that the "P" characters were part of the original as flags to change a font style and did not get removed.
You might also try printing to the Adobe PDF printer to see if that gives the same result (I suspect it will). If it does, an update would be appropriate and should at least be tried on one machine.

Creating pdf from multiple docs in PS8

i need to create a multi page PDF docs from multiple docs using photoshop elements 8. source docs will be other formats (e.g. MS WORD), but i could convert to pdf.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can open Writer (the word processing/text module) and use it like a blank word document. You can copy and paste from other sources, import image files, tables and objects and save as PDF.
