Sources for Solaris Management Console, admintool, Process Manager

Hello again after a long time! I'm interested in this sources (Solaris Management Console, admintool, Process Manager) especially admintool source code. I'm working on a Solaris8_x86. Are this sources delivered with the operating system and where can I find'em? If this sources are not delivered with the OS, the question remains. Where can I find'em and some help (man pages or anything) about these programs and their source code?

Hi,
as I know, there aren't any sources available for admintool. If you are interested in Management Console, than check docs.sun.com.
Management Console is based on Jiro Technology as I remember. You can also check for CIM (Common Information Model) and WBEM (Web Based Enterprise Management).
Start with the Management Console Manuals.

  • Manually Installed Agent is not showing up in the Operations Manager Console Under Pending Management.

    Hi Community,
I submitted this question because I'm a bit stuck with SCOM 2012 R2, I'll try to explain briefly what is happening right now in my environment,  we have a DEV SCOM Deployment in which all the roles are installed in a single server, this servers is a
VMware machine running Windows Server 2008R2.
The Initial installation of the SCOM Operations Manager and all the other components was not performed by me but by a co-worker, unfortunately he doesn't remember much about the initial configuration. So i had to pickup where he left things about a year
ago, neither of us are SCOM experts, and we have almost no previous experience with previous versions of this application.
Now the problem that I'm facing is the following, all the DEV Servers are Domain Controllers and one of the indication within the "Guide for System Center Management Pack for Active Directory for Operations Manager 2012" states the following
    Configuration
    Supported?
    Agent-less monitoring
    No
After my first review I notice that our servers were being monitor by agent-less mode and given the above statement from the Operations Guide the only way that we could ever get those domain controllers monitor by SCOM would be by installing the agent on
each server, so I read somewhere (Can't remember where) that in order to install the agents in all the servers I should first remove them from the Agent-less node, which I did. Then I tried to use the discovery wizard to get the agent install in all of them
but it didn't matter how many times I try the servers never show up.
I read in a Tech Net Article that you had to modify the security settings so SCOM would let me decide if I wanted to approve it or not.
    --> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212853.aspx
I performed the suggested steps from the article but still the servers were not showing up, not even if I run the Discovery wizard, so I decided to go and perform the installation manually in a couple of servers I was able to install the agent in one of
the Domain Controllers, I configured the agent to use a service account that has Domain Admin rights. An hour after I installed the agent I went back to the Operations Console Manager and I check under Pending Action but the Server was not showing up. So i
went back to the Internet to try to find out if someone else had experience the same problem, and in one website some mentioned that if the servers were not showing up it was probably because they were still register in the SCOM Database, now I have no idea
of how i can check that or How can i remove them from there to have them available again, but what troubles me the most is that even after i installed the agent manually the server were not being recognize.
I went to the Event Viewer and I found one particular event that caught my attention, see below :

Not sure if this is related to the problem that I'm facing right now, but , I make sure that the RPC Services were running and also the related dependencies too. There's no Firewall enable in any of the servers and DNS seems to be working properly.
Ports 135 / 5723 are open and listening so since I ran out of ideas, I would like to know if some of the experts in this field could perhaps give me some guidelines.
There's one caveat that I haven't mention yet and that is related to SQL, I checked and my user just has read access to SQL i'm not sure if that could affect this but i think is worth mentioning.
My main goal is to have all the servers showing up in the Operations Manager Console.
So thanks all in advance !

So you can ping and nslookup from your ms to these agents and vice versa right?  I wouldn't do a manual install, I would push the agent from the management server.  You can uninstall the agent manually, or use cleanmom to get rid of them.  Then
do an install from the console.  When you initiate the install from the console (management server), should it run into any issues it will dump out an error which will give you an idea of where the problem may be.

    1.  Ensure agent push account has local admin rights
    2.  Firewall is blocking NetBIOS access.  If Windows 2008 firewall is enabled, ensure “Remote Administration (RPC)” rule is enabled/allowed.  We need port 135 (RPC) and the DCOM port range opened for console push through a firewall.

  • SAP Management Console - Remote System Management

When I fire up my SAP Management Console (mmc plugin), I can see my locally installed instance for starting and stopping.  Can I use the plugin to manage a remote machine?
    Thanks!

This machine isn't running R/3, it is only running the Java application server.  There is no System > Status which I can find.
When I open the SAPMMC on my local machine, it has the tree:
        Console Root
         SAP Systems
          J2E
           bknitter-dt
           bknitter-dt 1
           bknitter-dt 0
I'm assuming in my case, if someone were to manage this remotely, they would simply put in "bknitter-dt 00" and "bknitter-dt 01" ??
    Thanks for the confirmation!

  • What is the best source for a novice to learn photo management?

As an X brand X user I don't find "photos" intuitive. I have photos from my iPhone4s, iPad 2, a digital camera, and downloaded from different sources. These 500 or so photos are stored on my iPhone 4s, my iPad, my MacBook Air and in iCloud. Everything is connected and synced by iCloud, Bluetooth, and sometimes even by good old fashioned wire. I now have two or more duplicates of some pictures on one or more of the devices most of the time, I think. The icing on the big messy cake is when I try to show a photo and can't find it.
I think my problem has become so compounded that no one manual will explain what I've created or how to untangle it.
    Anyone?

if you're displaying video in flash, you should use flv or f4v files.

Note: SMC = Solaris Management Console
SunMC = Sun Management Center (topic of this forum)
Patch 121308-16+ makes WBEM "secure by default."
Customers running Solaris 10 6/06 or prior must modify the client's WBEM
configuration file to allow remote connections after installing patch 121308.
    1. Modify the following line in /usr/sadm/lib/smc/policy/smcserver.config:
    FROM:
    remote.connections=false
    TO:
    remote.connections=true
    2. Stop and restart wbem.
    # /etc/init.d/init.wbem stop
    # /etc/init.d/init.wbem start
    3. Verify that WBEM is now listening for connections to port 898
    on all interfaces:
    # netstat -an |grep 898
    *.898 *.* 0 0 49152 0 LISTEN
In Solaris [TM]10 update 3 (11/06), the startup mechanism for WBEM was changed
from the legacy (rc script) method to the new Service Management Facility (SMF).
To allow remote WBEM connections on Solaris 10 update 3 or later:
    # svcadm disable wbem
    # svccfg -s wbem setprop options/tcp_listen=true

  • How to install Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier

    hi,
i need to install BPEL process manager, so i download the following file from otn
    1.soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1
    2.soa_windows_x86_bpel_101310
here i read the document named b28980.pdf from bpel\doc\pc.1012 to install BPEL PM
so i start to complete the pre-installation task
    1.installed Oracle database 10g
2.Run the Integration Repository Creation Assistant on the Database
3.Install Oracle Application Server 10g Release3 (10.1.3.1.0) and select either the J2EE Server installation type or the J2EE and Web Server installation type. selected J2EE and Web Server installation type
and installed according to the Oracle application server installation guide.
installed OracleAS in the path : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1
4.Install the current release of Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier
here they mention to select the J2EE and Web Server installation type because that type is selected in Oracle AS installed in Oracle Application Server
so i start to install the BPEL PM by selecting the setup.exe-->and shows the location source and destination
default destination is : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_1 selected next on the screen
the next screen is select installation type here there are two types named
1.BPEL process Manager for Developer (371MB)
2.BPEL process manager for Oracle AS Middle tier (107MB)
i selected 2.BPEL process manager for Oracle AS Middle tier (107MB) and click next
pop up window opens with title dependencies
    error:
BPEL Process manager for oracle AS Middle tier will run on top of a supported Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 J2EE server and Web Server Or J2EE server instance. this location does not contain this instance. Please select new Oracle home that contains a supported instance.
so i changed the destination path to : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\BIN then also i got the same error.
please any one mention the path for J2EE and Web Server instance for installing the BPEL PM for Oracle AS Middle Tier.
    Thanks in Advance
    Aswath Thaniga

If you choose the developer version you will be fine.
If you have installed J2EE and Web Server installation into D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1 then this is the location you install your BPEL PM into, not D:\product\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_1 or D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\BIN.
D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1 is what we call the ORACLE_HOME, generally we create a new home for each install, but in this case there is a dependency on 10.1.3.1 OC4J container. So it needs to be installed into 10.1.3.1 oracle home.
The bin directory is just the executables for that home, its not the actual. home.
    cheers

  • No Solaris Management Console was available on the specific server

    Hi all,

I'm using Solaris Management Console (SMC) to manage users in our Directory Server. Unfortunately, the default "user manager" in SMC does not have a tab to manage netgroups. • Does OAS Enterprise manager console install when Oracle DB EM installed?

I installed Oracle database 10gR2 on my development machine. After that I installed Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3.1.0
Although I opted to install the EM component I don't think that it did install.
Here is the install readme found in OAS_HOME\install\readme.txt:

  • Eclipse BPEL Designer with Oracle BPEL Process Manager

    Gurus,
I am tryting to develop a BPEL 2 process using Eclipse Helios BPEL Designer (v0.5).
Request your help with a problem that I am facing, which is as follows:
I am trying to create a Partner Link (PL) in my BPEL process, using the Partner Link Type (PLT) provided by TaskService (for user interactions) in BPEL Process Manager 11g integration services.
However, the PLT is not recognized by Eclipse BPEL Designer. The Port Types in the WSDL show up but not the PLTs.
I noticed that the PLT namespace being used in the TaskService WSDL is BPEL v1 namespace (namely, http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/05/partner-link/). I am able to work with PLTs from WSDLs with BPEL v2 namespce (namely, http://docs.oasis-open.org/wsbpel/2.0/plnktype)
Is there anyway I can work with v1 PLTs using Eclipse BPEL 2 Process?
    Many Thanks,
    Pulkit Sharma

    Hi,
I believe the Eclipse BPEL Designer is not a supported tool to create SOA composites. I suggest using Oracle JDeveloper 11g as it is a supported tool for development and is Oracle's go-forward IDE strategy.
    Hope this helps!

  • HFM Process Management

    Hi,
in HFM, we use the submission group and submission phases to manage the phased process management. I have one questions regarding this submission group/submission phase.
For example, I have accounts dimension members revenue, and balance sheet, and also C1 for products, P1, P2, P3.
In HFM, can I have the submission phased by accounts AND c1.
For example, I would like to have revenue->P1 to be in the phase 1, balance sheet in Phase 2, revenue->P2 in phase 3. The normal setup, is that I can give revenue: submission group 1, and balance sheet: sub group 2, and then P1 : sub group 1, and P2: sub group 3. In this setup, since revenue is already sub grp1, I can not have one sub group assigned to different sub phases. It seems that I can not do the phased submission as I wished.
Am I right? Any workaround or suggestion/advices? Thanks in advance

    Raul,
I think that maybe I do not state my problem clearly.
Yes. I already enable the metadata for phase submission, including accounts dimension, and C1 to C4 dimensions.
However, if I would like to have different submission phases for same account, but different C1 dimension member. How can I assign the submission group to same account member, but different C1 dimension members to achieve the different submission phase?
Since one account member can only have one submission group, and each C1 member has different submission group as well. In this case, when I assign the submission group to different phases, I can not have same submission group in two different phases. Then I can not do achieve the submission phase, for example, sales for Product 1 in Phase 2, and sales for Product 2 in Phase 5, etc.
    Any other suggestions?

  • The deployment process seems to die or get stuck, iAS 6 SP3 for Solaris 8?

When I deploy my application in iAS 6 SP3 for Solaris 8 the deployment process seems to die or get stuck. In the shell window i get the messages
iasdeploy for iPlanet Application Server 6.0 SP3
Connected to LDAP server on sstu15.auto.com port 389
iPlanet Application Server is running in international mode
    sstu15:null
    sstu15:10 kas> deployment action ''J2EEInstallEar'' (/u02/home/iplanet/JAR/SSS.ear) running.
    sstu15:10 kas> deployment action ''J2EEInstallEar'' (/u02/home/iplanet/JAR/SSS.ear) running.
After this nothing happens for a really long time.
When starting the deployment I get in the beginning of kas.log two entries
    ADMIN-168: kas> deployment get log ''J2EEInstallEar''
    GDS-007: finished a registry load
but suddenly the second line disappears and the only message I get is the first entry. I need to break the deployment process and kill the processes manually.
When starting the application server I get two error messages:
Connected to LDAP server on sstu15.auto.com port 389
iPlanet Application Server is running in international mode
Connected to LDAP server on sstu15.auto.com port 389
iPlanet Application Server is running in international mode

I think all processes starts OK, I get one for .kas and one for kas, one for .kxs and one for kxs and finally one for .kjs and one for kjs.
Is someone familiar with this/these problem(s)?

It seems you are deploying a very big application. Try to deploy this application with following command
    j2eeappreg <filename>
It should work fine. It was a bug with iasdeploy command in iAS SP3 which had been fixed in iAS SP4.

  • Is there any version of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2  for Solaris

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
Is there any version of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 for Solaris X86 available or under development?
Does any one tried the sparc version on x86?
    Thanks

I looked there and it say there is only SPARC architecture available.
I want to ask whether any one tried to install the sparc version on X86 or not as it is java and should run everywhere.
    Thanks.
