Sourcing 7.0 -- Supplier Type

Hi ,
In Sourcing 7.0, there is new functionality ' Supplier Type ' . It is a tab in the Workbook.
I uploaded the tab and now I want to deactivate it, System is not allowing it. It seems Mandatory ?
Can I not upload the tab itself and still be able to use the ' Supplier Management ' module perfectly as in 5.1

Supplier Type is new in 7.0. It is mandatory to have at least one supplier type.

How to add 'Supplier Type' LOV in the Create Supplier web page?

Dear all,
The 'Supplier Type' field currently only shows on the 'Organization' page. We want to set the 'Supplier Type' as mandatory field. Is it possible to add the 'Supplier Type' field on the 'Create Supplier' page after we click the 'Create Supplier' button?
If this field cannot be added on the 'Create Supplier' page, it is no use to set the field to mandatory since new supplier record can be saved without entering the supplier type field.
We are on R12.1.1.

Make sure that your control exist in 15 hive under given location. Just a little change in your snippit, try using below snippet in your HTML master page.

Change supplier type in supplier portal

Hi all,
anyone knows if it is possible to let the supplier change his supplier type (in the supplier portal)?
I managed to find a security right for the supplier / supplier manager profile but this didn't seem to work.

Hi Vikram,
the vendors can be active in multiple sectors (e.g. TAXI, TOWING SERVICE, HOTEL, ...). For each sector, we will be creating a supplier type since some fields need to be visible/hidden based on the supplier type.
Sometimes, a vendor can also be active in multiple sectors (e.g. towing service and taxi). For these vendors, we will be creating combination types, i.e. supplier type 'taxi_towing' for example.
Let's assume a vendor has been created as a taxi but he has decided to start a new service (towing serices), we want him to be able to change his supplier type manually from taxi to taxi_towing. This will automatically show some new fields which he can fill in.
I know it's a little bit complicated but we have no other way of doing it.

Operation Pull supply type at Item/BOM level is defaulted to Assembly Pull in WIP

I have an Item for which supply type is operation pull at item and BOM level, However when I create a WIP job and use this item its supply type is defaulting as Assembly Pull.
Could you please helpe me on this.

Sourcing from multiple supplier

Hello Guru,
We have one material that needs to be sourced from two suppliers. One in US and other is in Canada. Is there a way to order from these two different suppliers on a rotational basis? Is there a way to order from the US supplier every 3rd or 4th order and other times from Canada? If there is way, can you please give me the details steps to configure this. Can quota arrangement be used for this? Thanks so much.

BOM Supply Type - How does it default ?

Can anyone please tell me how the Supply Type flag under Material Control tab on the BOM form is defaulted ? I have checked the profile BOM: WIP Default component type.
Scenario:
1.Created items:
TEST ATO 1 - Created with template - ATO model, Supply Type=Assembly Pull
TEST ATO 2 - Created with template - ATO model, Supply Type=Assembly Pull
2. Created BOM
TEST ATO 1
|--- TEST ATO 2
For TEST ATO 2, the supply type is being defaulted to 'Phantom' and not 'Assembly Pull'
Suggestions please ?

WIP Job Supply Type

Hi,
While opening discrete job form to create a new job the Supply Type under Bills tab is defaulting to 'Based on Bill'. How to change the supply type to other supply type . Can we achieve this with the help of profile options?.

Transformation issue while connecting multiple source system of same type..

I'm working on APO-BW integration project. I want to connect BW QA & BW PROD to APO QA. I've already connected BW QA to APO QA & it is fetching data correctly. RFC part & other BASIS part is already taken care of. I've done export datasource (for mater data, cube etc) in BW PROD & replicated in APO QA. All BW PROD datasources are imported as RSDS (7.X) in APO QA.
Now my question is how to make sure the transformations will take source system as BW PROD too? I want 2 datasources (one from BW QA & other from BW PROD) to connect to same inforprovider in APO. I've transported 7.x datsource from APO DEV to APO QA environment along with transformations. In conversion of logical system names in APO QA I've given source system -BW DEV & target system - BW QA. So the transformation automatically takes data source as BW QA. It doesn't take source-system - BW DEV & target system - BW PROD as it conflicts previous setting.
Is only option that I need to manually maintain transformation from BW PROD datasource or there's another better alternative?

You are getting multiple IDOCs into BPM. But output you are getting one message right? IF so, your N:1 Mapping is not done correctly.
i.e your target message type should have occurence of 1..n and also the interface mapping. Closely obsever the N:1 mapping done in the BpmPatternCollectMerge.
Also go to SXMB_MONI->PE and check the Technical Details to make sure that, you are getting multiple IDOCs and you are executing the N:1 Transformation step correctly.
Also in the N:1 Mapping, check out the context you used. Make it root . Then test the mapping independently in the Integration Repository.

Source System Activation - IDOC Type does not exist

I'm doing a new installation of BI7 and when I want to activate the source system on replicate Metadata Box and select "Only Activate" it comes up with error stating :Basic Type ZSxxxxx does not exist
When I look in SE16 on table RSBASIDOC I can see the IDOC Type exist on both BW and R/3 Systems
Any solution?

Msg Mapping :: Converting String ( source ) to double ( target ) Type

During my message mapping, I have to convert one String Field from Source Structure to Double ( primitive data type ) field in Target Structure.

But if I use this in UDF then it has default return type as String.
Can I change the return type in UDFs or is their any other way using which I can do this conversion.

Searching for source in unrecognized file types

Using DW CS5, I'm unable to find text while searching that is in some of my files. I think this might be because these files are not recognized as source code by Dreamweaver. They are PHP files but they have the extension .ctp instead (because they are Cake files).
Is there any way to get Dreamweaver to consider these files when searching? I have already specified that Dreamweaver should be used to edit these files in Preferences -> File Types / Editors.

Data Source to get activity type(ActTyp) for service orders.

Hello friends..
Could you please provide, with the data source, that can be used to derive activity types (ActTyp),for service orders.
(Not maintenance activity type (PMACTTYP, in BI))
I have checked ZLIS_18_ORDER, where i could find (Maintenance activity type, ILART) but not Activity type.
Or if we need to create a Genric DS for same, could you ppl please provide me with the table name, to get the Activity type.

X99S Gaming 9 ACK Power Supply Type/Reqs

The motherboard appears to want, for cpu connection, one 8-pin connector (JWPR2) and one 4-pin connector (JWPR3). I've got a new Thermaltake DPS-G 1050 power supply, but it has only the 8-pin CPU connector on it. In fact, none of my power supplies for my other machines have both of those types of CPU connectors.
Is it correct that the motherboard needs both the 8-pin and the 4-pin CPU connectors? And if so, which brand and make of power supply will work with this motherboard?

No. The motherboard only needs 24 pin connector and one 8 pin connector. Additional 4 pin is for extreme overclocking. My Z97Mpower Max Ac has 8 and 4 pin CPU connectors but I only use 8 pin as I am not overclocking. For medium overclocking also 8 pin is enough.
