Sourcing images in ps touch

Photoshop touch: how do I get images from drop box?

Best way I can think of is to use Dropbox's app to import those images onto your device; there's no way to import straight from Dropbox into PS Touch's project workspace (though you can export to Dropbox using the "share" command).

  • Disk Utility: Restore Failure-Source image needs to be scanned for restore.

    Hello guys,
    I have a .dmg (source image) that I have created from a DVD by myself (read-only format).
    I am trying to restore it to a destination and a Restore Failure notification pops-up as follow:
    "Restore Failure
    Could not find any scan information. The source image needs to be imagescanned/scanned for restore"
    I am quite new to Mac. Half of the time, I don't really know what I am doing - but just relying on the 'Help Menu', some research for guides on the internet and most of all read-on most of the posting here in the Apple Forum for what I want to do or might have encountered. Lastly to hopefully also speak the Mac language. For example - What's a disk image? What a .dmg? What's a source image? and etc. ~Lost~
    So for this case, I am totally lost as I can't seems to understand what does the Restore Failure notification mean at all as I quote above. What does it mean by the Source image needs to be imagescanned/scanned for restore? What do I do from there? How do I scanned my source image? Is there a steps that I miss out while creating .dmg from the DVD?
    Could not find any scan information? What scan information? Where do I go to asked for scan information?
    I am so lost that I don't even know the right question to ask or begin with.
    I know what I want to do and believe it can be done with Mac. But I just doesn't seems to understand the concept of how it really works yet but to just follow blindly throughout the guides.
    So please help me if possible.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Jon Gan

    Hi,
    If you open Disk Utility, select the Image in the disk util sidebar, and click on Images > Scan for restore... in the menu bar, it will take care of it for you. After that you can perform a restore as you were trying to do.
    They do this so that disk util can verify your data after the restore to make sure it copied exactly.

  • How can I use single source images in text?

    I'm using RoboHelp HTML 11, and I want to use single source images of icons in text, so that I have the ability to update the source image, as needed, and all instances of the image are updated automatically. The look is as follows:
    I've tried snippets, but they force a paragraph return in the text which I don't want.
    I tried inserting the source code for an image into a variable, but when I inserted the variable into the text, I got an error message in the text.
    Is there a way to use variables to do this or some other method?
    Thanks.

    HI there
    The one possible drawback to this approach would be if the image size changes. You *MAY* find that saving a different sized image and replacing one would result in perhaps needing to visit each instance of the image and right-clicking and choosing "Reset Size".
    I'm not sure why your variable failed with the image. Generally, it's simple to insert an image into the variable. I typically start the process by typing something like "XX" as the variable value. Then in the UDV pod, select the XX and replace it with the desired image.

  • UILoader doesn't display initial source images online

    I'm using two UILoaders to display a bunch of photos and to speed up the load time of this website:
    www.miamispringspharmacy.com
    When the "Jewelry" link is clicked, the section comes up but without any photos. The "next" arrow button works and when clicked, the images appear as they should. But no matter what, the first two images do not show up. One loader is set to display "1.jpg" from one source file and the other loader is set to display "1.jpg" from a second source file. I don't think it's a matter of an incorrect link pointing to the source files because the rest of the images appear. The swf file works perfectly locally, and I only have this problem when publishing on the web.
    I appreciate any suggestions.

  • When shooting source images for "HDR Pro", is it better to using 16 bit TIFF rather than 8 bit JPEG?

    When shooting source images for "HDR Pro", is it better to using 16bit TIFF rather than 8 bit JPEG?

    Yes, you will bracket the exposure.
    Take as many shots as you need. Take a normal shot, underexpose twice or even three times and then overexpose twice or three times.
    That's how the camera will register all teh details in the image - in the highlights, in the shadows and in the midtones. When you bracket, remember to change shutter speed (if you shoot manual, that's what I do), not the aperture because you will end up with different depth of field.

  • Web photo album - source image folder empty

    I am using Vista and CS4.
    I am trying to create a web photo album.
    When I select Browse in the Source images folder, and navigate to my image folder (which has over 60 jpeg images in it), the dialog box in Dreamweaver says the folder is empty.
    I tried to save the photo as other formats, gif, png, etc to no avail; it still says the folder is empty.
    Can anybody give me something to try?

    I create photo albums and the only thing I can suggest is when you get to the folder, you have to open the folder, then it will say SELECT at the bottom of the window. If you upgrade to CS5, Create Photo Album has been removed for some reason.

  • Urgent: How to generate lo source images for slideshows?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to generate low source images for my website, to reduce frustration for viewers downloading larger image files. In the past this has been easy to do one at a time, however I've got some slideshows on my website that are quite large and I'd like to be able to do the same for them. However, the low source auto generate button just generates a low source for the first image (the root source file of the slideshow) and not for any of the others. Is there a way to overcome this? Will it muck up the flow of the slideshow to have the low source images in the same folder with them?
    Thank you

  • Source Image brightness change in Color Finesse Full Interface

      Hello All,
    I noticed that my source image has a brightness/contrast change when I view it in the Full Interface of Color Finesse compared to the way the image looks in the composition window of AE.   The Full Interface image is darker and lacking the details in the shadows that I can see in the AE compositon panel.
    Please see attached screenshots
    LUT - NONE
    LUT 601 Gamma
    AE Compostion Window
    The Footage is from "Color Correction Handbook" by Alexis van Hurkman
    How can I color correct with a difference like this???,  Which is the true picture Color Finesse full Interface or the AE Comp window????
    Also, when in the Full Interface mode of Color Finesse, when I choose from the view menu PRIMARY PREVIEW LUT - NONE the image is way, way darker than if ITU.R 601/709 or SMPTE GAMMA  is chosen.
    I'm trying to learn color correction but this is adding confusion to the mix.
    Is it my monitor settings, my color profile, a combo of the two or something else.  I read the Color Finesse Manual re: why use a REAL monitor, but at this time I don't have a Real Monitor and right now my work is primarily for the web.  Web video is seen on a computer, so I THINK my computer monitor should do- for now-, if its calibrated correctly and I choose the correct color space etc....
    By the way, setting the monitor/color space and all that related jazz is very confusing.  Adobe needs to make it easier to set it correctly, or at least write it out in PLAIN- step by step english.
    Thanks in advance
    I use a AE CS4, With Color Finesse 2.1.12 on a Mac OS 10.6.6

    Sorry I missed this thread going by.
    I just loaded in what I think is the same footage as you (10_SmilingWoman_Over2shot.mov) in case there was some codec issue, and I get a match between AE and CF. This is on a Mac, although that shouldn't make any difference.
    Look in the Color Finesse Preferences. In the General tab there is a checkbox for "Use Traditional Gamma". In most cases you will want that to be checked. This checkbox has to do with the continuing changes in gamma handling in AE, QuickTime, MacOS X, etc. We provide it as an option so that you can get a match.
    There is a similar checkbox for the external preview monitor in the Previews tab, since gamma handling is often different between the computer monitor and the external monitor.
    Also, are you using color management in AE? Color Finesse is not color managed, so that would account for a color difference.
    Finally, you typically want CF's Primary LUT set to "None".
    Hopefully something in here will help. Again, sorry I missed catching this thread earlier.

    When I connect my Ipod touch to my Mac, Itunes recognizes it, and I'm able to sync it , etc. However, there is no disk image of it on my desktop? I opened Disk Utilities, and it's not shown there either?
    How can I create a disk image of it that will be recognized?

    That's expected. The iDevice models do not support disk mode. See here for details.

  • How to swap the source image of a MC programmatically in AS3?

    This seems like it would be a simple thing.
    I have converted a jpeg to a movie clip that I want to be able to swap out the image source programmatically in the code behind.
    This can be done easily in the GUI. How do you do it programmatically?
    I have been searching for hours now and have not found anything that discusses how to do this.
    pseudo code:
    var my_image = "my_image.jpg";
    my_mc.SwapSource = my_image;

    Thanks for the reply. Please allow me to elaborate further. I set the class name in the linkage section of the bitmap properties dialog box as you suggested using the format pic1, pic2, pic3....and so on for each of my images in the library. I want to assign these randomly to my movie clips, topImage and botImage respectively.
    Following is my code:
    // number of images
    var myImageSequence = 12;
    // assign a rectangular mask to the top image
    topImage.mask = mcMask;
    btnSubmit.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, mouseClickButton);
    function mouseClickButton(e:Event) {
    var myRandomNumber1 = Math.floor(Math.random()*myImageSequence)+1;
    var myRandomNumber2 = Math.floor(Math.random()*myImageSequence)+1;
    var myImageName1 = "pic" + myRandomNumber1;
    var myImageName2 = "pic" + myRandomNumber2;
    topImage.addChild (myImageName1);
    botImage.addChild (myImageName2);
    Following is the error:
    TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "pic10" to flash.display.DisplayObject.

  • Sequence replicator bug : when source image has "colorize"

    I ran into this funky thing today. Easy to repeat:
    1: take any simple image as your source - I imported a small image from photoshop (a PNG).
    2: Colorize it
    3: Replicate it.
    4: Add a sequence replicator - I added a scale sequence from 0% TO 100%.
    Replicator only colorizes the image for a few frames as it scales up, then it drops the filter completely.
    Anyone else getting this? I'll use the "feedback" page to report this.

    Nope. Works fine for me. But let me ask you this:
    Does your colorize filter last as long as the sequence replicator? If you have a short image, say 3 seconds long with a 3 sec long colorize filter on it and you replicate that, the color will be obeyed in the replicator for only as long as the filter exists on the original image.
    Therefore, if you want the color to remain for the length of the sequence replicator, then you have to lengthen the colorize filter to the same length as the sequence replicator.

  • Open source image, audio, video hosting - MediaCrush

    Hey guys! I've been building MediaCrush over the past few months, with my friend (and fellow Arch user) Jose Diez, and several other open-source contributors. It hosts video, audio, images, vectors - over 500 different file formats are supported. You can upload almost anything (like a mp3, flac, mp4, webm, avi, bmp, svg, cr3...) and it'll be converted (losslessly where possible) to browser-friendly formats. You get a link to share, like this: https://mediacru.sh/Fx73lJhU0_Id
    The site is completely open source. You can run your own clone of MediaCrush locally with the help of the detailed instructions in the README. Pull requests are welcome, too, so you can help make it better if you please. It's written in Python and it's built on the shoulders of giants like ImageMagick and ffmpeg. Our whole shop is Arch - our dev machines are Arch, and all of the production servers (web servers, processing servers, and storage servers) are running Arch.

    ✓ Privacy-first data policies (link)
    ✓ Excellent public API (link)
    ✓ Entirely open source
    ✓ HTTPS only
    ✓ Ad-free
    You can upload files right away at https://mediacru.sh, or set up your own instance to host files on. Feel free to hop into the IRC channel for a chat, too: #mediacrush on irc.freenode.net. There are a couple of other cool things that you might like. For example, MediaCrush-cli lets you upload files from the comfort of your favorite shell.
    $ mediacrush --album *.jpg # example usage
    You can find it in the AUR as mediacrush-cli. There are also browser extensions that make it easy to rehost images around the web: Firefox, Chromium (both are open source, of course 1, 2). I also have a little script that uploads screenshots via scrot straight to MediaCrush.
    Here are some example URLs to play with: Video, or audio, or a GIF (we convert those to video, makes them load faster), or how about an album?
    Let me know what you think! I hope you like it.

    practice, but of course it totally breaks on pixel art.
    You're absolutely right. The reason we decided to convert GIF to video is because the majority of GIFs are sourced from video, and GIF is a poor choice for that kind of media. However, GIF is well suited to pixel art. The original GIF doesn't go away when you upload - if you want to host GIFs on MediaCrush like that, I suggest hotlinking straight to it: https://mediacru.sh/1hBjPzWZGy6m.gif. That being said, we strive to make the conversion as close as possible to the original, and I feel that in both cases, the final result is close enough to give the general idea, and then you get the original GIF when you click "Download", so it's suitable for sharing.
    Yes, I agree that it is quite good quality, the problem only arises when the output must be 100% accurate as with pixel art.
    It's good to know that the original does not go away.. Especially for formats like GPL, this is quite helpful.
    Files are run through detect, which determines what kind of file they are, collects some metadata, and selects a processor. Processing is distributed, which is accomplished through Celery (with Redis as a broker).
    I see, excellent summary. With the help of that, I have written a GPL detector (which maybe doesn't work fully, I had no idea whether simply open()ing the file would be okay with your architecture):
    def detect_gpl(path):
    # XXX don't know how to access path. Is standard open() ok?
    with open(path, 'r') as f:
    lines = [f.readline().rstrip() for v in range(3)]
    if (lines[0] != 'GIMP Palette' or
    (not lines[1].startswith('Name: ')) or
    (not lines[2].startswith('Columns: '))):
    return None
    return {
    'type': 'application/x-gimp-palette',
    'extra': None,
    'flags': None,
    Haven't written rendering code yet, but I think imagemagick can do the job; it would probably be possible to generate an XPM directly in Python code, that ImageMagick could then convert.
    Regarding the other formats you mentioned, could you offer some test files, and a general idea of what they are and how we might go about detecting them and supporting them?
    Yeah, I'll provide some shortly. You may not want to support them all, but here's a summary of what they are:
    * GPL : Gimp Palette. Used by GIMP (duh), Inkscape, Mypaint, Scribus ... most OSS graphics apps. Identified as above (well, my routine above is actually fairly paranoid -- just checking that the first line content equals 'GIMP Palette' is normally enough to detect it). Sample files here.
    * ora: OpenRaster. 'Generic layered image format', hopefully will become a standard for layered raster graphics interchange. MyPaint's native format, supported by GIMP and Krita. Convertable to PNG using calligraconverter[1].
    * kra: Krita's native format. Convertable to PNG using calligraconverter[1].
    * xcf, xcf.gz, xcf.bz: GIMP's native format. Convertable to PNG using xcf2png (from 'xcftools' package)
    * ase : probably don't bother -- this is Aseprite's native format, which is not particularly common in the wild. I don't know of a tool that converts it. I just tried it for testing's sake.
    * webp: Google's WebP format. Already handled, but you seem to currently convert it to a video even if the image is static.
    [1] Available in the package 'calligra-extras'
    You're welcome to submit pull requests; you should join the IRC channel to participate in dev chatter. Thanks for the feedback!
    Thanks, I'll look at doing that once I'm familiar with the system.
