Sourcing in Classic/Extended Classic

Hi Gurus,
Can any one guide me through the difference in sourcing in Extended classic and classic scenarios.
I am concern about the process while converting the SC in to PO.
What is the difference in that Process.

  • Why Extended Classic Scenario

    Hello
I understand the difference between Extended Classic and Classic Scenario with the follow on document creation. But, I need to understand the business benifits of implementing Extended Classic Scenario as opposed to Classic Scenario in SRM. In what business scenario do one suggest Extended Classic.
    Appreciate every answer
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
The most important thing to consider when choosing the implementation scenario is to consider which system will support the different steps of the procurement process.
In case of the classic scenario, after creation of the request (shopping cart) in SRM, the remaining process steps will be handled / supported  in the back-end system (ECC). Goods receipt can be executed in both systems.  This would be a good choice if the organization has already an operational back-end system and the users from the purchasing department are already familiar (and happy) with all the MM functionality.  SRM will only function as a support tool for administrating the purchasing needs of the end-users in the organization.
In case of the extended-classic implementation scenario the complete purchasing process will be supported in the SRM system (most organizations prefer to use the back-end system for invoice verification). Thus requesters, purchasers, goods recipients etc. all will use the SRM system to support their respective activities.  This would be the preferred scenario in case both MM (ECC) and SRM are new to the organisation and will be implemented together.
SRM offers the different users a nicer user interface as opposed to the R/3 screens. Also the (strategic) sourcing capabilities of SRM can only be used  when implementing the extended classic scenario. Same for the Suplier Enablement business scenariou2019s. Most are only supported when extended classic is active.
So depending on the intentions of the organization a choice can be made. SRM only as a tool for administrating the decentralized request from the end users in the organization: Classic scenario will suffice. SRM as a tool to support the complete purchasing process, from sourcing till  evaluation - Extended classic will be the correct choice.

  • Impacts for switching from Extended Classic to Classic in production

    Hi,
Has anyone involved project that customer has switched from Extended Classic to Classic in production system?
SRM 4.0 is live in Extended Classic now.
Customer is going to upgrade and switch their production system to SRM 7.0 Classic.
    Main process is
PS -> MM PR -> SRM Sourcing -> SRM PO (Extended) -> SUS PO -> SUS PO Response
GR, Service Entry and Invoice are handled in ERP
I see an issue if we switch SRM-SUS to MM-SUS, SUS PO is created before switch and PO Response is created after switch.
Do you have any lessens and learned topics for switching Extended Classic to Classic? Which documents have to be take care?
    Regards,
    Masa

I'm also interested in the same question.  We plan on  going from 5 Extended Classic to 7.1 Classic.

  • POP LOV in classic Report not in a interactive Report

My oracle version Oracle Express Aplication 11g
    Dear Forum
We need a CLASSIC report where i can define what information my report will show.
    For example:
    My Report contain
    ID NAME DATE
In Drag and Drop layout I create two data pickers cause I need to choose information between Date_picker_1 and Datepicker_2. both of them correspond to DATE
In my region source in classic report I write something like this:
Select id, name where DATE between :Date_picker_1 and :Datepicker_2 then Ichoose the months but nothing happen.
I know that in the report interactive you can do that, but my boss doesnt' like interactive report (I dont know why) so my problem is in the Classic report.

Please update your forum profile with a real handle instead of "897381".
Also the subject of this thread—POP LOV in classic Report not in a interactive Report—doesn't appear to be relevant the question asked. There's no mention of a Pop-up LOV here?
My oracle version Oracle Express Aplication 11gAlways state full version numbers, and include
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    as well.
Select id, name where DATE between :Date_picker_1 and :Datepicker_2then Ichoose the months but nothing happen.Always post code wrapped in <tt>\...\</tt> tags. And always post the actual code or a realistic reduced test case: that query is not valid SQL.
I know that in the report interactive you can do that, but my boss doesnt' like interactive report (I dont know why) so my problem is in the Classic report.Nothing to do with the report type. It's because all APEX items are actually VARCHAR2s. For proper comparison semantics with NUMBERs or DATEs in SQL explicit conversion is required:
    select id, name
    from foo
where bar between to_date(:date_picker_1, 'DD/MM/YYYY') and to_date(:date_picker_1, 'DD/MM/YYYY')Where 'DD/MM/YYYY' is the format mask used in the datepicker items.

  • How to access source code for checked in .sca files in the dev environment

    Hello,
I am trying to do some CRM E-commerce development. The basis personnel has checked in all the relevant SCA archives listed in the setup documentation.  He has since given me the Servername and port for accessing the NWDI that I can set in the Development Environment. I can log on to the system and see the repository browser with all the branches.
    For example:
       CustomerConfig -> CRMEXT -> sap.com_SAP-CRMWEB -> dev -> active
    CustomerConfig -> CRMEXT -> sap.com_SAP-CRMWEB -> dev -> inactive
How ever there is no code there to sync. Is there something missing in our setup for the NWDI so I can sync the CRM E commerce projects to the local system and modify them.
Is there anything we have to do either in NWDI or in the IDE to see the source code to extend it.
Thank You for your help in this matter.
    Sumit.

Hey Pascal, Thanks for the help. We did a batch check in and the code did not go through. After we tried the check-in in the non-batch  mode it worked.

  • Sourcing of GOA in Extended Classic Scenario

    Hello all,
We are using the <u>extended classic scenario</u> with both Purchase Contracts and Global Outline agreements.
Is it possible to use the GOA in the back-end as a source of supply in the sourcing transaction in SRM? What setting do I have to use exactly?
    Kind regards,
    sander

    Hi
Which SRM and R/3 versions are you using ?
I guess, the following threads will help.
<b>Source determination in backend (R/3) for distributed contract i.e. GOA
    Transaction For Creating GOA
    Distribution of GOA in R/3
FM or BADI s' used to create a GOA

    Hope this will help.

  • Sourcing in extended classic scenario

    Hello, all
We are using the extended classic scenario in SRM 5.0.
In sourcing cockpit I have the following problem. In spro Supplier Relationship Management/SRM/Server/Sourcing/Define Sourcing for Product Categories I set  Sourcing Always Carried Out. From a shopping cart the purchase order is created automatically as the data complete, but  I'd like to sent shopping cart to the sourcing, where from  a shopping cart create bid invitation or purchase order. How  do it?
    Please help,
    Best regards,
    Guzal

    Hi Guzal,
As informed by Claudia, Incomplete mainly means no vendor assignment, no price etc.
If the vendor is assigned at the shopping cart level by means of a contract the shopping cart (details)  is complete. Even in this case the SC should go to Sourcing cockpit in case of "Sourcing Always carried out" is chosen in the sourcing column.
In the above case the P.O gets directly created from SC only when the options
" Sourcing never carried out" & " Sourcing carried out for items w/o assigned source of supply" were chosen.
Hope you will be more clear on this issue. Any clarifications always welcome.
    Rgds,
    Teja

  • GOA as SOS (Source Of Supply) in extended classic scenario

    Hi,
I understand that when I create a SC in EBP, GOA can't be a SOS in "Extended Classic Scenario (SRM 5.0)". If I want to make GOA as SOS, how do I do it ?
I have searched the forums and found that the below BADIs can be used.
    BBP_CTR_BE_CREATE
    BBP_CTR_INIT_UP
    BBP_CTR_MAIL_BADI
    BBP_CTR_MASS_BADI
Now I am looking for someone who has done this scenario and please explain how did you do it ?
    With regards,
    Pranav

    Hi,
I had a former project where I modified SRM standard source so that I can use GOA as source of supply in extended classic scenario. In Standard, as you know, SAP doesn't allow to use GOA as SOS in extended classic. In extended classic, we have to use local SRM contract as SOS. In my case, it was SRM 3.0.
    Cheers.

  • Source List Required in Extended Classic

    Hi,
We have a requirement wherein a Source List is required which contains the R3 contract. Now, when a PO is created in SRM, the source should pick up the contract based on the vendor list and the contract number and then this should also update the contract in the backend.
    My questions are:
    1. Vendor list cannot be maintained in a Extended Classic Scenario (as far as i know, it is the functionality of Standalone scenario. Can this be done in ECS? If yes, how?
    2. Once a PO is created in SRM by referring a R3 contract, can the contract be updated in R3? If yes, how?
I would appreciate a quick response as this issue has become hot. Sorry about that!!

    Hi

  • Source of supply (info record) in Shopping cart-extended classic

    Hi experts,
    We are on SRM 7.0.
We have changes from classic scenario to extended classic scenario, and after this a problem has come up?
When I create s a shopping cart for a product number, I have to allocate the vendor manually. If I activate the source of supply tab, I can't se the info record for the product number, which are created in the back-end.
I the classic scenarion is was working as this:
    1. Create a shopping cart
    2. Go to the tab 'source of supply'
    3. Choose the vendor from different info records created in the back-end.
    4. order the shopping cart
In the extended classic it is working as this:
    1. Create a shopping cart
    2. Go to the tab 'source of supply'
    3. There are NO info record to choose from, even though I have created different info records in the back-end. I have to search for the vendor, and can't se any info record number. By this I can't get the right vendor assigned to the shopping cart???

  • How to install OS 9.2 on G4 PowerBook 15" 1.67GHz

The installation disks come with the laptop didn't include OS 9.2. But I need it for one program. Where can I get it?

    Hi, agliu -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
The only source for Classic (OS 9) on that model is the set of disks that originally came with it, although it may not be obvious how to install it.
One or more of these Apple KBase articles may help -

  • Central Contract Management

    Dear SAP Experts,
I have a few questions regarding our implementation of SRM and ECC.
FYI, we are planning to use SRM 7.01 and ECC 6.05 as backend.
We’re planning to utilize Central Contract Management functionality in SRM, where we negotiate the price in SRM then we distribute the contract to ECC. In ECC we create PR, which have reference to this contract (contract number in SRM is different with ECC). So this PR will have assigned source of supply, is it possible for us then to create PO automatically from tcode ME59? The reason we ask this because we see in documentation that every PO in ECC created with reference to contact in SRM, ECC will need to check first the current price in the SRM contract, so we would like to confirm whether it is working if we use ME59 (we plan to use ME59 as background job and unfortunately we don’t have the testing system yet to verify this).
We’re planning to have PR created in ECC. However we would like to utilize MDM catalog as well. Is it possible that during PR creation we can select items from the catalog?
We’re planning to have implement SRM 7.01 in 2 waves. In first wave we will only use Self Service Procurement and Strategic Sourcing (using classic deployment where the leading PO is in ECC). However in the second wave, we’re planning to implement SUS (Supplier Collaboration). In SUS, we would like to activate the business function, so the vendor will response RFx and participate in auction from SUS itself. The question is…is it possible for us to have it planned like this? For example, in first wave, the RFx and auction will use SRM server itself, however in the second wave, we will switch it to SUS. Our concern is that the switch will happen to the productive server already. Is this okay?
    Thanks
    Varian

    Hi,
When you distribute the central contract to ECC system, it creates a new contract in ECC system.
When you create PR, you can assign this contract as source of supply.
Then automatic PO creation if your settings for automatic PO is maintained.
In ECC 6.04 also catalog integration is possible. So for your version 6.05 there is absolutely no problem. The same OCI interface parameters have to be maintained in MM system for catalog.
Your two stage implementation is absolutely possible.
    With Regards,
    Malay
