South African iTunes Store?
Does anyone know if there are plans to open an iTunes store that South Africans can use?
I can't quite see the point in buying an Apple TV if there is no iTunes shop to use it with?
Thanks!
Sorry, but no one here knows anything about Apple's future plans for more iTunes Stores. We'll just have to wait and see.
But just FYI, you can use an Apple TV with any compatible content you can import into iTunes. It's not useless just because you don't have an online store from which to purchase. Lots of people pay as much for a device that will only stream audio (such as the Slim Devices Squeezebox), and the Apple TV will also stream photos. And, as others have pointed out, you can import your own video content: home movies, content downloaded (legally, I trust) from the Internet where the formats are compatible or can be converted, and where legal, your own purchased DVDs.
So for many people, the Apple TV may well have features that are sufficiently compelling even where Apple has not yet been able to open an iTunes Store.

I have an apple ID for the South african i Tunes store. How do I get one for the US one? I want to use Mind Snacks.
You will need a valid billing address in the US and be in the US when you want to buy anything from it. You can try requesting that it be added to the South African, but ultimately it's the app's developer that will have to grant Apple a licence to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

Can some one please explain why I'm being charge for a free update?
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!
All of your help is much appreciated, thanks -
Hi,
I have a US apple ID but I need to buy an album from south african apple store what to do. This album is only available in apple south african storeIf you are in the US that you can only use the US store - you need to be in a country and have a billing address in that country on your account to be able to buy from its store. You can try requesting that it be added to the US store, but unless the record company/rights-holder agrees to let Apple sell it there then Apple won't be able to do so : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

How come there are no hidden objects games in the South African App Store and y does safari not allow you to get it downloaded from the net. There are only games for kids in the App Store. Can anyone help. Is the South African apple ipad only for children
Nobody here is responsible for what is or is not available in any country. I believe it is a software licensing thing.

Why are certains applications not available in South African App Store?
Why are certain applications such as Google Earth, Google Mobile App, and most games not available in the South African App Store.
We speak English so localisation should not be a problem.
I'm sure there are no legal reasons why these applications are not available here, as we have desktop equivalents for most of them.
Why does South Africa have to have a diminished iPhone experience? No idea.
You would have to ask Apple and/or the company that makes the app and/or - most likely - the Government of your country.
I'm sure Apple and the app developer would love to sell more apps.
Since this is a user forum, made up of iphone users, like you - there is nothing we can do about it.
Sorry.

There is no one from Apple here, thus no one here can answer your question.

so i Know a lot of people who has US app stores but dont reside in it can i open a US account because the south african store is useless and has too many foreingn apps on it. Can i legally do this? Because if i purchase a app they still get the money if i pay for it. i know this has probaly been asked a lot of times
Legalities aside, I don't think it will even let you create an account without a credit card and billing address from that country.

When purchasing an app on my iPhone, it says I must first change from the US App Store to South Africa, I live in South Africa and have downloaded several apps before without any problem. What has changed ?
Hi HayCam,
Sounds like you accidently got changed to another store....
So, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, and click on your AppleID at the top. Then click on View account, sign in, and then click on Country/Region, and follow the instructions to change your store to South Africa.
That should take care of it!
Cheers,

Why does the South African App Store have so little apps. And why are they no games?
I live in South Africa and the App Store is pathetic. There are no Games at all. Why is the U.S App Store SO much better? I feel like I wasted my money on my iPad.

This is all see when i click on Itunes store. Please let me know if you guys find a solution to correct this problem.

-BalajiThere is a solution. First off look into any antivirus that
At he running and also if you all uninstalled iTunes then did you
All also delete the folders that exist in your respective
Programs files folders? That is a required step and really cannot
Stress enough how much antivirus effects iTunes look into the
Things it blocks the sheer fact is the problem is the iTunes
Store cannot contact the server.
Take a first or second look at these articles and follow all the
Listed steps and before you do them disable your five
Protection programs.
Here are helpful articles:

You must follow step 2 exactly for the reinstall to work properly. -
Hi all. I am new to iPad and am trying to buy / download certain apps thru iTunes and or App Store. I have found the apps i want yet I keep getting messages saying "this app is not yet available in the South African store"! which means i am unable to buy it. Why not and how can i get around this? Thanks
If you see a dialog telling you the app is not avaiable, then it's not available.
And keep in mind, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."
