many thx!

Hi seranhui
Welcome to the Community
There are already many threads related to your Query .In order to Install Chinese Language pack you had to Download and Install An All Language OS pack on your device which will allow you Chinese language. If you want it you can try It this way :
First remove any OS pack from your PC or laptop then
1. Download the All Language OS pack  from here and Install it in your PC or Laptop Carriers
(make sure you are downloading for the same model as you have )
2. Download and install the latest BlackBerry desktop software from here BlackBerry desktop software
Then using desktop software perform your full backup of your device.
3.Search your C: drive for Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml ( On your Pc change your folders option to show hidden files/folders ) :
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
5. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For 64-bit Vista or Windows 7, the path       will be C: > Program Files x86 > Common Files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double click Loader.exe.
Upgrade will continue then After Installation of New OS restore your backup from BlackBerry desktop
Software.
Then Connect your Device to BlackBerry Desktop Software then  using Application loader you can add Chinese input on your device.

• Adding East Asian Language Pack

[I stupidly posted this in the Bold forum.  Reposting here, where this topic obviously belongs.]
Hi, all,
I've read the BlackBerry KB on how to install the East Asian Language packs on my BlackBerry.  But I am still confused.  The directions say:
Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone.
Select Applications.
From the Install/Remove Application screen select East Asian Language and Input Support.
Click Start. The installation will begin.
But clicking the "Applications" button brings up a window that manages third-party applications, not BlackBerry applications and extensions.  It shows all of the third-party applications I have installed (Evernote, Google Maps, WhatsApp, etc.).
There is a "+" button on the left of this applications window, but that brings me to a Finder window to search for files on my Mac.  There is a "Start" button, but pressing that without changing checkboxes next to the applications raises the following error: "BlackBerry Desktop Software failed to validate your BlackBerry device update.  Aborting install due to validation failure.  Some packages contain unsatisfied dependencies."
So, it seems that the KB instructions are incomplete.  Exactly where do I see the "East Asian Language and Input Support" option on my Mac BlackBerry Desktop Sofware?  Perhaps I am supposed to use Finder to browse to some location on my Mac select an East Asian Pack file?

Hello drummonds,
Is your Mac connected to an internet connection?
Is your device unlocked and you are using a different carrier than that of the one branded to your device?
Backup your device data and reinstall your software as shown in KB19915; once the reload completes try going back into the Add/Remove applications tab.
Let me know how you make out.

• HOW TO: Install East Asian Language Pack on Blackberry 9780

Hello!
I bought a new Blackberry and want to install Korean, Chinese and Japanese on it A.K.A the East Asian Language Pack. I previously had a Blackberry 8520 and installed the language pack successfully by following this tutorial. I thought that it would work if I tried it with my new phone but it doesn't.
I tried using .JAR files by transferring directly on my phone and installing it from there, but no results. I also tried using .COD and .ALX files but there were no results! I'm confused because the other languages such as English and French appear if I use Desktop Manager or Desktop Software but it doesn't show ANY East Asian languages at all.
Can anyone please help me resolve this problem?
My phone details are as follow:
Blackberry 9780
6.0 Bundle 2647 (v6.0.0.600, Platform 6.6.0.223)
Network: T-Mobile
Bought from: Carphone Warehouse
Thank you!

Hey Ld0ttx,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
T-Mobile UK does not have east asian language pack for the BlackBerry Bold 9780.  This is carrier specific though, some other network service providers may have the language pack but the BlackBerry will have to branded for the other provider.

• East Asian Language Pack

I have a Tour, which originally was from VZW, but now doesn't have a CDMA carrier.  I'm over in China and put in a China unicom SIM, and I have voice and SMS.  Now the problem is it doesn't have the support for Chinese language packs.
Searching the forums all I see are: "obtain the software from your carrier"  Well lets just say trying to do this with China Unicom is not a pretty process and I just want the language packs.  Can someone link me the software or even a link on Unicom site to obtain the software?  I don't care what or how I get it, but I just want the ability to use English and read Chinese on the phone, it shouldn't be that hard.
Thanks
Miles

• Itunes 10: East Asian languages displayed as boxes in certain areas

I just got a new computer, and moved all my music to my new computer, and installed Itunes 10. But for some reason, if I try to edit my song's info (Right click on song, 'Get Info') the titles and everything that's in another language displays as boxes. The song title itself when in Itunes displays properly, but only in the 'Get Info' box does all my Chinese, Japanese, and Korean song information turn into little boxes. It's not my computer's problem, as it displays all these languages properly. The problem lies with Itunes, but none of the help topics really do anything. Can anyone help me out please?
If you didn't really understand my explanation, here are some pictures:

As you can see, boxes in the info editing areas, but everywhere else, it displays properly.
Thank you for your help!

In case anyone else comes across this problem -
It turns out that the fontconfig.properties approach is a bit of a red herring (at least in this example).
I've resolved the issue by adding a method to my bean to specify a different font for english and chinese language users. For chinese language users I specify Font = "Simsun-18030" and for each AWT component explicitly setFont( new Font( "Simsun-18030", Font.PLAIN, 14 ) ) Now AWT components displaying chinese characters are rendered correctly with no need to modify any config files on the client PC.
- NB font appears smaller for pointsize than english fonts.
- Using "SimSun" as the font also works but text in english is not displayed very clearly
- On windows you must install east asian language support for this to work (Start -Run - intl.cpl - languages tab)

• Can't Input East Asian Language Into Page

Hello all,
I'm using an older version of Dreamweaver (4) but it appears
to have the capability to input East Asian (Japanese) language into
the page. I have my computer set up to read and write in Japanese.
I have Dreamweaver set up to allow asian characters, but when I put
it into the page, it comes up as a garbled mess. Is there something
else I need to do? I've tried all three of the Japanese encodings,
and none of them work. I'm running WinXP. Thanks!

Dreamweaver 4 supports Japanese on a Japanese operating
system, but not
on an English one. If I remember correctly, MX 2004 (or it
might be DW8)
is the earliest version of Dreamweaver to support East Asian
languages
on an English operating system.
It's a long time since I've done it, but I think you might be
able to
get it working on Windows XP by opening Control Panel >
Regional and
Language Options, and then selecting the Advanced tab. In the
section
labelled "Language for non-Unicode programs", select
Japanese, and click
OK. After restarting your computer, Dreamweaver should accept
Japanese
input. Be warned, however, that using this setting might make
the
display in Dreamweaver and some other programs look rather
odd.

• Completed Form requires Asian Language Pack w/ no visible Asian characters

Why do Reader users receive a notification requiring them to install the "Asian Language Pack" after I fill out a form and send it?  The form has no visible Asian characters.

Fonts listed under Document Properties of the completed form are: TimesNewRomanPSMT (TrueType) & TimeNewRomanPS-BoldMT(Embedded) TrueType.
I neglected to mention that the original form (incomplete) does not require the Language Pack.  What settings/preferences can be changed in Acrobat to prevent Unicode (or other unwanted Fonts) from being used when completing the form?

• Inputing East Asian languages on ATV2

I can't type any East Asian languages on apple TV youtube searches. I guess it is possible to use apple remote app with your iphone or ipad and input East Asian languages from those devices? However, I don own an iphone, iPad, or iPod Touch. I bought my ATV2 in Japan and it still won't allow me to input in Japanese characters since the keyboard layout is only in English on ATV2 (even when the language setting on ATV2 is in Japanese). Is there a way to change the keyboard language layout on ATV2? If not, how does Apple even appeal ATV2 in nonWestern markets? Alternatively, is there a software for the PC that works like an apple remote so we can type searches from our computers and have that transmitted to ATV2? It seems odd that you can control ATV2 from iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch but not directly from a computer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Flo,
1. I'm not aware how a third-party language engine could be integrated into Latitude/Information Discovery. We certainly don't document it or supported it.
2. Studio 2.2 or 2.3 cannot use Infront MDEX as a data source. The reason is that the API used by Studio to make calls to the MDEX must be compatible with the interface on that MDEX. So in the case you mention, you would have an MDEX 7 API (in Studio) trying to make calls to an MDEX (InFront) that supports only MDEX 6 API calls. Therefore, the versions of both Studio and the MDEX must always match (as listed in the Install Guide).

• Does Endeca Server(Mdex) in latitude support East Asian languages?

Hi,
we're on latitude 2.2.2
the Mdex engine in Latitude is different from the one in Infront, without Basic RLP to do the indexing and word segmentation for East Asian Language. In this way latitude cannot support Chinese or Japanese keyword search. is this correct?
If so, can endeca server integrate with Basic and how to do it?
Thanks!
Flo

• Vertical Text for East Asian Languages?

You know how East Asian languages (in my case Japanese), can be written vertically? They go down from top to bottom, in columns that go from right-to- left. Does anyone know is Pages supports this?

No, Pages does not. You would need to use MS Office, NeoOffice, OpenOffice, or LightwayText/iText Pro (plus the Japanese version of Adobe InDesign).

• Include Asian Language Packs for Reader 7.07 in GPO Installtion using  Installshield Tuner

Dear all,
using the Installshield Tuner to create the necessary files (like the mst file) works fine.
The deployment of the Acrobat Reader 7.07 with Group Policy works fine as well, but is there a possibility to include the Asian Language Packs(Chinese Traditional and Modern) within this Installation?
They are only available as .exe files. Can they packaged to msi file or are already available?
The option (launch other applications) to run files is not good, because some people don't have local admin rights.
I tried manual installation by copying the missing files (CIDFonts and CMAP Folder, and anotherfile) later on and that didn't work as well.
I spend a lot of time of searching, but no result so far. Are there any suggestions?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Andreas

run the installer exe and grab the msi file out of the %temp% folder

Solved!
Go to Solution.

While this isn't for the faint at heart, I know that OSes from certain carriers often come with Asian language support.  The OS I currently have installed gave me the option of installing Asian language support (it is a leaked OS though).  Installing these OSes doesn't void your warranty, but if you need service, it may make it more difficult to obtain as unofficial releases from other carriers or from leaked versions are not supported (you may need to revert to the original OS before obtaining support).  That said, this would indeed be one way to be able to get Asian language support.

• I have a vintage mac computer that I am trying to download the asian language pack for simplified chinese; However the error message tells me I need an update installer?? Cannot find the right download for the 10.5.8 OS

I have a 10.5.8 os and need the simplified Chinese languag pack which I have not been able to download. It says I need an update installer which I cannot find as well/ or one that will work. Any suggestions?

Are you sure it is not already there?   In system preferences/international/language, don't you see simplified Chinese on the list?  It is supposed to be there.  You just move it to the top and restart to put the OS into that language.
Missing language packs can also normally be installed  by running the Language Translations installers found in the OptionalInstalls.mpkg of the Leopard DVD.
