Sp user not resolving in the people picker SharePoint 2010
Hi All,
i have an account domain/bimoffice, this account resolves in all the site collections but only in one site collection is does not so not able to give permission to him
for example
http://acm/sites/gis works !
http://acm/sites/ww - works!
http://acm/sites/op - not works!
how to fix this?
so do you have problem only with single account in http://acm/sites/op, or other users are also not resolved?
One more idea: is user domain/bimoffice still active in AD? May be it was active before and used on other site collection, but after that it was disabled and can't be resolved on new site http://acm/sites/op anymore.

valmikithanks gain noddy, I found the actual problem now . It is crawling the site collection . but is not crawling the sub site. How to include sub site to crawl , I found this solution in Google , one suggested to do this but did not work out.
Can you please let me know how to include sub site to crawl its contents .
The solution to this is frustratingly simple...
At the root of the site, go to Site Actions >> Site Settings and choose Search and Offline Availability under Site Administration.
Set the page indexing behavior to “Always index all Web Parts on this site”.
Save and run a full crawl.

Cannot remove deleted user from people picker - SharePoint Foundation 2010
So I think I've read all the people picker articles here and I can't find a solution so I thought I'd start a new thread. Here is the issue:
A user was deleted from Active Directory and removed from SharePoint Foundation 2010. The user was still showing in the People Picker within the site collection, so we have performed a few things to try and get rid of this user.
User is deleted from AD
User is deleted from SharePoint Site Collection
Have tried stsadm -o deleteuser
Have removed all mention of this user from UserInfo table
User does NOT show in
https://<SiteCollectionURL/_layouts/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0
Cannot find any mention of this user anywhere.
Ran a full crawl as we read on a forum somewhere that it might help.
If I try and add the user back to SharePoint I get "The user does not exist or is not unique"
If I try "stsadm -o deleteuser -userlogin DOMAIN\USER -url https://<sitecollectionurl>" I get "The user does not exist or is not unique"
I am not sure what else I can try now. Can anyone help?

Just so everyone can stop with the warnings, we do NOT regularly delete users from the UserInfo table and fully are aware of the problems behind it, which is why it is so rarely done. But at times, you have to do what you have to do to help a customer, you
know? This one user is the only one that was removed from the UserInfo table, but there are a few other users that are also deleted (from SharePoint, not manually from UserInfo) that are still showing as well. This one user included.
There MUST be another place that the people picker gets it's information from. ALL of the user's old information still shows in the people picker (username, email address, display name), and yet none of that information exists anywhere other than in the
People Picker. Mailbox is gone from Exchange, User deleted from SharePoint, User deleted from Active Directory. Is there no cache someone could point me towards that People Picker might store information in.

How to populate a field in an Infopath form based on the people picker input - only OOTB approach

I have 3 lists : Resource , Project, Contract
In "Contract" list i have created a form with MS Infopath 2010. This form is used to collect data of a new resource joining a project . This form also takes the information about the resource's costs.
Scenario :
Project informations are already present in the "Project" list.
Any new resource who will be joining a project will be added in the "Resource" list at first . This list has its own form to do so. While adding this resource the form asks for the project which should be assigned. This is dealt with.
"Contract" list : In this lists form their is a people picker field where the resource email id(already inserted in "Resource" list earlier) will be typed by me. There is a field which will capture the project name.
Issue in "Contract" list:
When i type the resource email id and click on the people picker icon , the project field in the form should get auto populated with the corresponding project of the existing resource so that i donot have to type the project name again. This project info
should be fetched from "Resource" list only.
Please let me know how i can achieve this by OOTB approach .

To hide/disable controls based on user group in an InfoPath form, a solution is that we can call User Profile Service to check the group of current user, then hide/disable
specific controls by setting some rules in form.

Assigning human task to a user not exist in the ldap - actionable task by email address
Hello experts,
we have a requirement to assign a task to an external user (not exist in the ldap) to perform some action by allowing the system to send an actionable email.
Internal user will capture the external-user name & emailaddress in the task form. System should use this information and assign the task to the user by sending an actionable email. Our requirement is, these external users should not have access to bpm workspace, so we can not store the user information within the system.
Currently I have tried assign the task to an internal user (users configured in weblogic) and system sends out an actionable email and able to set the outcome of the task by replying to the email.
How can the same be achieved, without the user being in our system? Is it possible? I am OK to create a temporary user before assigning the task, but will be there be any impact if I delete the user after the task has been completed?AnilB,
Assigning a task to a user that is not in the directory will likely result in the BPM flow going into suspended state. To avoid this, assign the task to a pre-created group, you should not get an error even if the group is empty. You can then add and remove the users to that group to control access to the task.

In the photos app I have 2 camera rolls and 1 photo gallery. Each new photo that I take gets stored in one of the camera rolls, but when I back up the photos to my computer it only backs up the one camera roll, and not any of the new picks. In the one I backed up I have 500 plus photos and the other over 1000. I need to back up the 1000 one- camera roll. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Help .... Please

I have create the view which include the People picker column(name) and single line text column.

You could accomplish your requirement with SharePoint Designer. Please try these steps below:
1.
Open the view in design model you have created with SharePoint Designer.
2.
Right click the People Picker column, and choose: Format Item as -> Hyperlink to -> Display Form, as the screenshot below.
3.

I am trying to compile my SharePoint 2010 solution(VS2010) in VS2013 to deploy in SP2013, i have removed all old 14 ref and added 15 ref for microsoft.SharePoint, office.server and other assemblies.
still i am getting "The type or namespace name 'BusinessData' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft.SharePoint'
(are you missing an assembly reference?)"
did i miss any step here or any version issue?

Just confirm that Target Frame work has been changed to 4.5 or not, if not changed it to 4.5 and give it a try. Then also it gives error then check the SP reference, dll properties and check its version(it should be 15.0.).
PS:-You can fine target framework under project properties->Application-> Target Framework.

Using a SPD workflow to run a approval process. This is a non-browser form. User receives task notification, opens form in IP Form Filler and sees yellow task bar notification. User Clicks on open task, nothing happens... OS = XP, On Win7

I understand that when you click on Edit this task in the message bar in InfoPath 2010, nothing happens. Does this happen when you open the email which contains the ‘Edit this task’ link?
If so, you can try to check whether this key is in your regedit. If so, you can delete this key and have a test.:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

Users show up in UPS, but not the people picker
Hi,
Currently I am having a problem with my SharePoint site. The issue is that users aren't showing up in the people people but DO show up in the UPS manager. I have looked through my error logs and haven't been
able to pinpoint where the errors are. Also, I don't know this is related but there are times where in order to find users I have to type in their domain\username, because I can't find them as Joe Shmoe. Ideas?

EricCan you describe any domain trusts in place, or firewalls in place between your SharePoint servers and the domain the users are a member of?
To me this sounds like a firewall issue (SharePoint doesn't have the proper ports open between it and the DC(s)) or a trust issue, where there is a one-way or selective trust between the domain SharePoint is in and the domain the users reside in.

I have created List with some people picker columns and now when I save a list,the data is saved to list as well as the users in particular column will be added to particular sharepoint
group. Is there any sharepoint out of box solution for this or I need to do it programmatically. Kindly provide me any procedures or solutions as you know.

There is no out of the box way to achieve this.You need to write a custom event receiver ,inside event receiver
event, you
can check column (people picker value) and add it to desired group if that user not exist already.

Infopath 2013 Pulling User's Manager Emails from people/picker
Hello,
I'm having an issue with pulling others user from different department manager's email through people picker.
People/picker >String> Button( this button auto populate the selected user's profiles plus manager account)
I managed to do it with Data Connection "GETCOMMONMANAGER" , but it'd only work if the current user shares the same common manager or same department. For an example:
Current user = Myself
Select anyone within my department through people picker, it'll auto populate our's manager name & Emails
IF I select anyone else out side of our department the data connection will not work.
SO What I stuck with is that, my department is specifically filling out the form for others department.
I've also tried using GetUserProfilebyName, by pulling the selected user's profile through people picker plus their manager account name.
Rules:
Set a field's value:AccountName (GetUserProfileByName(GetManager)) = Manager's AccountName Field
Query using a data connection: GetManager
Set's a field value Manager's Name = value(Name = "PreferredName")
Set a field value Manager Email = value(Name = "WorkEmail")
These rules successfully pull myself and team members manager's profile
BUT, if i input other users from different department this came up
A user with the account name blahblah\ssong could not be found. ---> An error was encountered while retrieving the user profile.
