SP2 interupts when I install drive

Built my new pc, installed virgin copy of xp with sp2 slipstreamed. When I come to install my Audigy drivers I get to 97% then a windows dialog box pops up saying some windows files are being overwitten, insert windows xp cd and press yes to restore the files. Installation then hangs and if I try to install the latest drivers on top of whats been installed I get the same warning dialog and blue screens.
I suspect if I just installed the latest drivers off the site first it might not come up with this, but it seems to me I am forced to install the original drivers first in order to install the sounblaster mixer program. If you try to install the latest version of mixer from the web it won't install unless you have a copy already on your pc. Also on my audigy cd the mixer program does not have its own setup.exe so you are forced to install the drivers because you cannot deselect drivers from the install list.
Can anyone help with either of these problems?

  • Fatel error when re-installing driver & software HPSLPSVC CAN NOT BE FOUND

I do not get an error code.  looking on the event viewer I have found the message HPSLPSVC  can not be found corrupt or not one pc

    Hey @reinhold1974,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this installation error. I'm sorry to hear that the steps I provided failed to resolve the error. At this point I am going to walk you through some additional software troubleshooting. Can I please have you follow the steps below.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
Even though the install is failing, there is a chance that some portions of the software and driver package made their way onto your system. To correct the 'HPSLPSVC  Not Found' error it is important to have a clean slate to work with.
    Click on your Start menu
    Select All Programs
    Select the HP folder
    Select your HP Officejet
    Select Uninstall
Follow through with any onscreen instructions to complete the uninstall process. Once the uninstall is complete, please continue to the next step.
    Step 2: Clear Temp Files:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin
    Step 3: Run CCleaner:
Next, can I have you click here to download the CCleaner Tool onto your computer. When the website opens, select  the Free Download button at the top. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the CCLeaner Tool. Once the download is complete, please run the Tool and allow it to perform the Scan. Should any malicious files be found that may be causing this issue, or any Registry corruptions be found than the CCleaner should resolve those issues for you.
Once the CCleaner has completed, please proceed to the next step.
    Step 4: Reinstall Drivers:
Lastly, please click here to download the latest software and driver package for your printer
Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left
If prompted, please allow the download the Run
Once the download is complete, please follow the onscreen instructions to install your printer
If using a USB Cable, do not plug in the USB Cable until the installer prompts you to
Once the installation is complete, please test your machine to verify that everything is functioning properly.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Best of luck!

  • Turbo memory Crashes vista and windows 7 when I install the driver (any available driver)

    It goes like this .
when I first receive my t61 there was a vista installation and turbo me worked. I downgraded to XP and then I didn't use turbomem.
about half a year ago I tried running windows 7 beta and one of the turbo memory drivers worked but didn't operate the Readyboost or ready drive but only I was able to see the IMD-0 in the disk management so I mounted the IMD as a drive and run manually the ready boost on that drive.
I installed a newer version of windows 7 (Build 7600) and I tried that newer turbo mem drivers and the older drivers nothing works !
When I install the driver my comp crashed because ianvstor.  That happens everytime IM trying to install the driver.
I tried installing vista SP2 and the same thing happens.  I think my turbo mem chip is burned or something.
I also tried to replace hard drives and it didn't works.
it's really annoying that I have a component on the computer which I payed for it and it doesn't work.
i really hope this forum can help me to solve the problem.
i was going throw all the posts in google about turbo mem and none of them have my problem which I can't even install the driver.

Windows 7 is still in beta stages first of all, and second, Lenovo hasn't released any official drivers to work with Windows 7 yet. That will NOT happen unitl Microsoft offically releases Windows 7.

I would highly recommend sticking with the OEM version of your OS to eliminate problems of this kind! You want Lenovo to help you, but you're using a non-OEM operating system on your unit. Maybe someone else here in the forum might be able to assist you.
Do NOT PM me with technical issues. Post in the forum for assistance. Thanks

My Mac Book Pro had a split drive with Windows Microsoft Access on it and it was removed when Mavericks installed.  I need this so how can I go back to the old system?

Restore from the backup you had prior to installing Mavericks.
However, the upgrade should not have altered your partition scheme. Did your erase and format the drive prior to upgrading?

  • HT1338 my 5th generation ipod won't sync anymore to my PowerMac G4.  It worked fine, but when I installed a new hard drive it won't work anymore.

my 5th generation ipod won't sync anymore to my PowerMac G4.  It worked fine, but when I installed a new hard drive it won't work anymore.  I've re-installed iTunes, the latest version for Tiger, I've reset and restored my iPod.  The ipod shows up fine in the source banner and I can transfer files to it, however when I unplug the iPod the files are not there.

Maybe try to repair the iPod's HD using Disk Utility located in the Applications -> Utilities folder.  If that doesn't help, try a low level reformat of the drive using the same application.  Make sure you choose Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) as the file system format.

  • I tried to install a new hard drive using Snow Leopard to back up with Time Machine. When I installed the new HD I installed Leopard (10.5) on it and tried to use time machine to restore the backup I had made using 10.6. Kernel panic screen occurred.

I backed up my system using 10.6 Snow Leopard's Time Machine to an external hard drive. I did this because I purchased a new internal hard drive to upgrade my 2007 White Macbook from 80GB to 320GB. When I installed the new hard drive, I installed 10.4 (Tiger) and then 10.5 (Leopard) and once Leopard was in I tried to use Time Machine to restore my backup from 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and received a kernal panic screen directly after the bootup.
The screen had code asking for 10.6, so does this mean that the computer is searching for Snow Leopard? If so, how can I do this? Will a bootable drive with Snow Leopard on it be able to solve the issue or will I somehow need to find a way to wipe out this new hard drive?

Booting From Snow Leopard Installer Disc
    1. Insert Snow Leopard Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
    4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
    5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
    Drive Preparation and Installation
    1. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    7. After formatting is complete quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.

  • When I installed iTunes 11 on a windows 8 system I get the music, but the screen dosn't have te library on the left.  The left side of iTunes is the name.  I got the songs by using a external hard drive.  What have I done wrong?

When I installed iTunes 11 on a Windows 8 system the installation did not seem to work correctly.  There is no sidebar and no ribbon w/ File, Edit, etc.  I tried to use an external hard drive to move from an older computer using XP to the new one w/ Wdw 8.  I thought if I deleted iTunes from the Wdw 8, I could reload it. Apparently I did not delete the music files because they appeared in the format I complained about, no side bar or ribbon.  Can anyone walk me through the process of deleting everything and reinstalling?  I am not very computer savy so a step by step would really be appreciated.
    Thank you,

I have usb driver in may macbook pro 15 retina. When I installed windows 7 and try to download windows support into a CD, boot camp always said it couldn't find my usb driver. My mac version is 10.8.3

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Install the Windows support software from the USB drive. Note that Boot Camp Assistant, in OS X 10.8.3, doesn't support the option to burn the Windows support software into a disc.
Instead, you can try a different thing. Start in Windows and download the Windows support software in it > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638 Then, decompress the file and run the Boot Camp drivers installer.
If you can't access to the Internet in Windows, start in OS X and download the Windows support software from the same link. Decompress the file, right-click the folder which will show up after decompressing the file and select "Burn". Finally, start in Windows and install the Boot Camp drivers

  • ITunes disables my CD drives when I installed. How can I correct this problem.

ITunes disables my CD drives when I installed. How can I correct this problem?

1.Open about:config in Firefox (simply type about:config into the address bar and hit enter, if you doing it for the first time, you may have to promise you are going to be careful)
    2. Search for keyword.url from the filter box at the top.
3.Double click on this entry. It will open a dialog where you can edit the ‘keyword.url’ string
    4. delete anything in there (if there is anything) and copy in the following:
