SP2013 AAM
Hello,
I have a SharePoint 2013 with four
web applications. These web
applications are extended to provide access
https.
Is it possible to disable in iis
web applications with http
to force users to access https
?, in case if possible, is it
advisable ?.
Thanks and regards!!

Hello,
it is possible and it is advisable to use HTTPS instead of HTTP :-). You could always switch between HTTP and HTTPS.
You have 2 options to accomplish this task:
1. remove http binding inside the IIS and force the user to use https. In case they use HTTP they will receive a message that they have to use HTTPS. You need to edit the AAM public URL.
2. to create URL rewrite rule (you will need to install URL rewrite module for IIS). Here you could find a good example how to create a rule -
http://pcfromdc.blogspot.com/2013/10/how-to-redirect-from-http-to-https-with.html. In this case the users will be redirected from HTTP to HTTPS always. You need to edit the AAM and set the public URL to https. This method is more intelligent :-)
Hope this helps.
Enjoy :-)

Hi
I am working in a sharepoint migration project. We have migrated one SharePoint project from moss2007 to sp2013. Issue is when we are clicking on Popularity trend > usage report, it is throwing an error.
Issue: The data was not being processed to EVENT STORE folder which was present under the
Analytics_GUID folder. Also data was not present in the Analytical Store database.
In log viewer I have found the bellow error.
HIGH -
SearchServiceApplicationProxy::GetAnalyticsEventTypeDefinitions--Error occured: System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: An unsecured or incorrectly

I have verified few things in server which are mentioned below
Two timer jobs (Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Processing, Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Import) are running fine.
APPFabric Caching service has been started.
Analytics_GUID folder has been
shared with
WSS_ADMIN_WPG and WSS_WPG and Read/Write access was granted
.usage files are getting created and also the temporary(.tmp) file has been created.
uasage logging database for uasage data being transported. The data is available.
Please provide pointers on what needs to be done.Hi Nabhendu,
According to your description, my understanding is that you could not use popularity trend after you migrated SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013.
In SharePoint 2013, the analytics functionality is a part of the search component. There is an article for troubleshooting SharePoint 2013 Web Analytics, please take a look at:
Troubleshooting SharePoint 2013 Web Analytics

I hope this helps.
Thanks,

AAM 6.2 All - Download Error (U44M1I216) updating Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6
I'm a CS6 Cloud subscriber running Win7 32-bit and have been having the general 'Download Error/Update Failed' issue with AAM since 12/15/2012. I spent a couple of hours on the Live Chat line with an Adobe support person during which I downloaded and used the Cleaner; downloaded and installed the AAM 6.2 All package but continued to have the same issue 'Download Error/Update Filed' since.
I believe that I made progress this morning after reading a post on the boards from a direct licensed user with a different AAM issue. I used the Help/Update function of one of my CS applications which brought up an instance of AAM which, unlike the 'normal' System Tray version of AAM, didn't immediately go to the 'Download Error/Update Failed' state. This instance of AAM presents both an About and Preferences buttons. I pressed the Preferences button and this next screen showed the list of my applications and had both a Cancel and OK buttons.
When I pressed the OK button, I got to another screen with the list of my applications and About, Preferences and Update buttons. In addition to the list of my applications, each application had both a checkbox and an list expose button. When I pressed the list expose button for each of my applications, I got a complete list of the updates - at the 'package/version level - that AAM 6.2 ALL was attempting to install on my machine in order to maintain all of my applications.
I used that list to go to the Updates page on Adobe to find each of the listed package/version combo's that were listed by AAM 6.2:

17-Feb-2013 5:38:10a 2,135 Adobe Prelude CS6 1.0.3 02-17-2013.log.gz
I downloaded and installed each of those update packages, one by one, and wittled down the list of packages that AAM sensed as needing to be updated down to just the 'Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6' package - needed by both Photoshop and Prelude.
I used the CSXS Infrastructure CS6 install log file - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers - to confirm that the installation of the specific version that I had found was successful and it was:
02/17/13 07:01:30:198 | [INFO] | | OOBE | DE | | | | 4576 | Successfully installed 1 component:
02/17/13 07:01:30:198 | [INFO] | | OOBE | DE | | | | 4576 | - Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6_3.0.1_AdobeCSXSInfrastructure3-mul
I assume that there must be a later update to the Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6 package that isn't yet posted on the general Update site for direct down load. When I try to use the application specific instance of AAM to do the update of both Photoshop and Prelude with the version of CSXS that it senses is needed, I get the U44M1I216 error code in the AAM log.
Does anyone know if there is a later version of CSXS that is being called for? If so, do you have a link to where on the update site I can download it for direct update?
Thanks,
FrankHi,
Did exactly what was recommended and this was the result. Now there's a new error code for Premiere Pro.

- OS: Win7 - 64bit
Thanks for helpGone to creative cloud faq: here is the answer
What if I have problems downloading my software?
Visit the Adobe Store download forum, where you can find information about typical software download issues.
so here I am again!
This was not a general question, it a specific one: AAM is not working by now.
6hrs ago MacBookPro with Lion OS: AAM stoped downloading (after installing 2 app Acrobat and PS6) other apps. I was in office (on its internet connection).
Back home (another internet connection) it was sill not working. I tried on the PC (win7 64bit) and I couldn't either install AAM (download didn't start)
Maybe the server was down.
1 hrs ago it begun working both on PC and MAC, but just the list of apps.
I couldn't download any app.
Now AAM doesn't start again (both on PC and MAC): Download Problem Error 403 Contact support
MESSAGE UPDATE
After 8 hrs everything is working: I think it was just something like a server was down.... -
SharePoint Foundation 2013 AAM, alerts, URL in email alerts
Hello all,
I have the following situation.
SharePoint Foundation 2013 server updated to October CU. Created an web application and extended it for internet zone. AAM are defined. This is a new farm. No content database was attached. No previously created
alerts.
I can access this web app with:
http://servername for the default zone and http://internet for thw internet zone.
If i subscribe to receive alerts using the internet zone url the first email that i get contains correct URL to http://internet but the further emails regarding the actual changes contain references to the
URL from the default zone http://servername excepting the mobile view button wich goes to http://internet....
Thank youIt is recommended that you use a single FQDN + SSL Url (if you have external access) due to issues with alerts like this.

Your search cannot be completed because no search service is available- SP2013
Hi,
We have an application page, in which we need to retrieve the search results in SP2013. However, the query always returns the error "your search cannot be completed because no search service is available". Please find the code below.
using (SPSite site = new SPSite("http://server"))
using (SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb())
Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Query.FullTextSqlQuery kq = new FullTextSqlQuery(site);
// KeywordQuery kq = new KeywordQuery(site);
//KeywordQuery kq = new KeywordQuery(site);
kq.SourceId = new Guid(SourceID_Value);
kq.QueryText = keyword;
kq.RowLimit = 100;
kq.AuthenticationType = QueryAuthenticationType.NtAuthenticatedQuery;
ResultTableCollection resultTables = new SearchExecutor().ExecuteQuery(kq);
ResultTable resultTableFinal = new ResultTable();
resultTableFinal = resultTables[ResultType.RelevantResults];
However, the same code works in a console application executed on the same server. Please let know if you have faced this issue and the solution.

Sharepoint 2013 AAMs and IIS 7 bindings
Hi everybody,
I have a server running Sharepoint Foundation 2013 and IIS7.
On the IIS7 there was already a website running on port 80. Now I have configured a sharepoint site running at port 31600. From internal network everything is working fine. But from the internet only the website on port 80 is working, I cannot reach the
SP site. I assume I made some mistake between IIS bindings and Sharepoint AAMs, but I don't know whats wrong.
This is the current configuration:
Website Bindings in IIS
http:*:80:webapp.company.com,http:10.10.40.4:80:
Sharepoint site bindings in IIS
http:10.10.40.4:31600:,http:*:31600:webapp.company.com
(10.10.40.4 is the internal IP address)
AAM settings in Sharepoint
InternalURL:Zone:PublicURL
http://servername:31600:default:http://servername:31600
http://webapp.company.com:31600:Internet:http://webapp.company.com:31600
As I said: internal access is fine to both sites, from external the SP site is is not reachable. Any help is appreaciated.Do you have TCP/31600 open on your firewall/router and mapped correctly to your SharePoint server? Is the 'webapp' A record registered in the DNS zone 'company.com' externally?

Changing the default Zone AAM in SharePoint
SharePoint Web App Provides 5 different Alternate access mapping Zone.
What is the best practice, is it the good practice to change the Default Zone of Web app in AAM.Hi Maruti
At its most basic level, AAMs are configuration settings set in SharePoint Central Admin that tells SharePoint how to map a web request to the correct web application so that SharePoint can respond with the correct content as URL of a web request received
by IIS is not the same URL that the end user entered in their web browser
Best Practices
Default and Intranet should always be used, the rest are of course optional, but whatever naming convention you use, be consistent!
Default: always the FQDN in the form of “http://WEBAPP.Company.com” (or “http://WEBAPP.domain.local” – whatever
your FQDN format happens to be )
Intranet: Just the name of the webapp itself in the form of “http://WEBAPP” It is important to use a single
name, without any “.”s in the name, as some windows applications will see “.” in the address and will assume “Internet” zone for the address, which can lead to some interesting authentication issues with Microsoft Office applications.
Internet: Almost always prefixed with "WWW” in the form of “http://www.WEBAPP.Company.com” – this identifies
the access URL as a public facing or externally accessible site.
Custom: I have never used this field for anything more than specialized one-off URL testing and sometimes for SSL
cert verification (which generally should go on the load balancer anyways)
Extranet: Every company will be different, but I like to use the “PARTNERS” prefix, in the form of "http://partners.WEBAPP.Company.com”

Creative Cloud Subscription - Application & AAM Updates - What's manual & What's not?
This may seem a silly question, but I'm finding updating apps more complex now that I have Creative Cloud membership -- or at least it seems more complex.
Questions
The question is, what updates come through AAM and what updates must I go to adobe.com, download, and install outside of AAM?
It seems that if I install outside AAM, AAM could be lost in a state of not knowning what Creative Cloud apps I install (getting out of sync showing "Install" when something already is "Installed").
Then there are security updates (like the current certificate issue for Windows users) -- are these handled by updates coming through AAM or do I go to the website, download, and install.
And what about AAM itself? Do I manually (go to adobe.com, download, then install) install updates for it? Or does it automatically udpate?
Add to this a perceived need to "uninstall" apps before updating (or maybe that's not necessary??) and its quite unclear what "I" take care of updating and what "AAM" automatically updates.
AAM Feature Suggestions
It may be helpful to consider a couple features for AAM that might help clarify things.
Add the version # of each "Installed" item to the list of applications.
Add an "update" link (button) to the right of each "Installed" item if a newer version exists. The link would manually trigger updates for those apps that don't do an "automatic" AAM update by taking you through the proper paths to keep AAM in sync with what's installed (assuming here we're talking only of Creative Cloud apps).
These last features are possible solutions for quirks I've noted so far...
Give users the opportunity to set the install path before the first install
When you first install AAM, it doesn't allow you to set the desired install path for the very first install. Which means that first application is always going to install in the default location. You can only set the preference after that first app.
So in order to put that app where you want it you'll need to uninstall it then reinstall it (I think?), when it could have been installed in your desired location if you had a chance to set that before that first install.
Remember the install path preference
The AAM also seems to "forget" the desired path. When you go to AAM sometime after having installed apps, it seems to lose that preference -- the value in the dropdown is empty. So, each time I enter it again -- just in case I want to install another app.
Overall I like the products in the Cloud. But need some clarity so I can avoid update pitfalls.
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on the updating processes!
-BonnieBonnie thank you for the feedback. Feel free to also document your feedback at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.
As for your initial question I would recommend you choose Help>Updates from one of your point product installations. This will trigger the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which will not only update AAM but also any applicable updates to your software. -
Null pointer exception fatal error in PP model deployed to SP2013
I have a PowerPivot solution built in Excel 2013, which I have deployed to a SharePoint 2013 single server farm, which is also running SSIS/SSRS/SSAS 2014.
I have configured data refresh jobs, which are running successfully, according to the PP management dashboard in SP.
I attempted to open the file from the document store in SP directly, and when I went to make modifications to the data model, tom horror I was greeted with "We couldn't load the data model. This may be because the Data Model in this workbook is damaged".
Further clicks on the OK button provide a bit more context.

Unfortunately I've seen this before, and unfortunately it's been fatal. Fortunately since the last time I've seen this, I've become a bit more adventurous. Here's what I've done, and I'd really appreciate some community help to take this the last few inches
to a conclusion. Maybe some help from the Office team, since you're 15 minutes from my office :)
Using Visual Studio, I can see that the data model itself is intact. I was able to start a new solution using the supposed corrupt file as a starting point.
That's a good thing, but I don't know how to recycle it into a new Excel file so I don't lose all of the work I've put into it.
Using SQL Management Studio, using SELECT * FROM [PowerPivotServiceApplication1_endpoint].[dbo].[Versions] I can see that the reported Version is 12.0.1.0.
Also using SQL Management Studio, I can see that the server version for the server used for PowerPivot is 12.0.2000. I wonder if this version disparity is causing Excel to want to upgrade my file, and this is triggering a larger issue?
I seem to recall seeing somewhere that PP for SP2010 was not supported in a single server farm. I don't know if the same is true for SP2013, and frankly don't care (at this point, since all I am after right now is my data model back). I'm wondering if the
SP data refresh jobs are causing this, and the null exception is maybe a pointer to a second server in the "farm" that doesn't exist.
Lastly, I am more than willing to make changes to the underlying XML files that make up the XLSX file. If there's a way to know where the null value is being referenced (if possible) and make it go away, that would be stellar.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Like I said, I'm very willing to go down deep rabbit holes, sit with devs, whatever it takes.
Thanks
Any help on this is greatly appreciated. I'mHere's one thought...
Because the error occurs with more workbooks, the reason is probably external to the files, model etc. but common to it,
such as permissions or user specific policies on his workstation or servers involved, This Microsoft Excel Support Team Blog article is an example of a cause for a similar seemingly scary error message:

PS 13.1.2 Update on Mac 10.8.2 - Update error in AAM: U44M1P7
Hey folks,
I´m getting a problem, when updating my PS 13.0.4 on my Macbook Pro, Mountain Lion, 10.8.2. The AAM brings an error (NR. U44M1P7).
I´ve installed the Cloud yesterday, activate it, PS works fine on 13.0.4, but I can´t update. Other updates f.e. Premiere aso were no problem.
Please help, what can I do?
If reinstall of PS is the only option, how can I save the whole workaround with my presets, settings, actions (I have many actions) and so on. It´s enough to export my presets or do I have to save the actions f. e. separetly?
Thx a lot for your help!
Best regards
Stefan
FeinklickOkay, sorted this one.
It was apparently a corrupt permissions and .db file.
I started by confirming that the 'PS_AppIcon.icns' resource file was okay (which it was).
Followed by running Disk Utility > First Aid > Repair Disk Permissions' via the Recovery Disk partition utilities > Reboot.
Then deleting the '.db' file in '~/Library/Application Support/Dock folder' > Reboot.
All instances of the icon corruption are now gone (e.g., Launchpad, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6 folder, smaller icon verions in finder frame and menus).
Note - the only thing I did previously was to run the Adobe Application Manager updates and install.
Marking as fixed. -
