SP9 Patch 1 blows away the PCD and pcdContent folders!

Hi,
I experienced this problem on two different systems. After the patch 1 install, only the HTMLB.jar file is present in the PCD directory which is the only one the patch is supposed to install and the pcdContent folder is gone. I looked into the sapinst log file and noticed a step that was interesting:

So, it appears that it skips the step of saving the previously deployed files but I don't know why. No Fileset found?? It goes ahead and deletes the previously deployed files which in step 1 said it couldn't find!
As a test, when the error message occured at the end of the install, I copied the files from a backup (excluding the htmlb.jar) and clicked retry and it completed without an error message. But, since I didn't get a clean install, I backed it out anyway and I plan to open a OSS message.
SAP issued Note 790767 stating this was an error that could be ignored. The problem is that the pcdContent folder is missing and it can't read the properties file! How can this be ignored??
Can some one shed some light on this? Why are some people getting this to install without issue and some aren't?

Yes i agree, i got the following error too during the install.
"ERROR 2004-12-16 10:28:59
FJS-00003 TypeError: fMgr.getNode(j2eePath + "/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/web-inf/deployment/pcdcontent") has no properties (in script InstallationScript_78, line 17433: ???)"
but i renamed the temp directory in deployment dir to pcdContent and it finished with no errors and the portal too works fine.
And this happened to me with both of my installs- Centarlized and Distributed.

For a SQL Server Analysis Services database, when changes occur in the schema of an underlying data source, you can refresh the data source view to incorporate all of the changes to each of the underlying data sources. Refreshing a data source view updates
the whole data source view.

In this case, you changed the relationships between fact table and dimension table. So you need to configure it manually. Please refer to the link below to see the details.

Missing Adobe PCD and SLstore folders for Adobe Illustrator in Win7

I can't open my Adobe Illustrator and it says: Error 16.
Configuration-error. I only find the SLstore folders for Adobe PS,
but not for Illustrator CS6 ( 64bit). And the Adobe PCD is not there at all.
My system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
I read somewere that you can also place a slstore folder in the right location.
Is that true?

Benjamin1964 the SLCache and SLStore folders should be able to create themselves. Error 16 indicates there is a file permission error preventing the creation of the folders. You can find more details on how to correct this at Configuration error 16 | CC, CS.

Removed photo's still in the Modified and Originals folders

I removed all pictures from my Library (iPhoto '08). There still remains more than 1 GB of space. I see a lot of photo's I removed in the "Modified" and "Originals" folders. Can I remove them without destroying the Library? (I need the library because of the keywords etc.) Or is there another solution to make the Library minimal again?

Have you empied the iPhoto trash - iPhoto menu ==> empty trash?
When I duplicate the library and remove from both libraries the part I need in the other library, you don't get all free space, the removal of pictures would suggest. So the two Libraries together use much more space than the original library.

How do the User and Shared Folders relate to the main drive? Can we delete?

I'm curious how the User and Shared folders relate to the main hard drive and if there is duplicate files in these folders and the main hard drive. Some software programs I have seemed to have loaded content/info into these folders and I'm wondering why they put files in there instead of just the regular main hard drive pathing. These 2 folders are more confusing than anything. I can see that might be of use to a family and each family member wants to keep files in a personal file, but when I'm the only one using my computer, it seems like I should have the option to remove these folders completely, but I don't because I feel like I would be deleting some important files that I wasn't aware were in these folders.
Another thing is, when I click on User folders (at least I think it's the User and not Shared folder), it brings up my name and 'Shared' in 2 seperate subfolders. Is anything in these folders duplicates of what's on my main hard drive? Is there anything significant about these folders if I'm the only user on my computer?
I would nice to get rid of clutter and to eliminate options for software to install things by deleting these folders and not have home/user/shared folders. Is that possible?

They are not aliases; it is a hierarchy, and there is intentional duplication at different levels. This is a feature.
First thing is that Users and Shared are at different levels. Users is at the top level, but Shared is one level inside Users, at the same level as any other user account you have created.

Hard Drive\Applications - applications any user can see, installed at the system level
Hard Drive\Users\username1\Applications = applications only that user can see
Hard Drive\Users\username2\Applications = applications only that user can see
In the same way, there are multiple Preferences, Cookies, Application Support, etc. folders at different levels, for the same reasons.
If you do not know what you are doing and you delete one of these folders that "looks like a duplicate" you could cripple some essential part of your system or your account. That is why people are telling you not to do this.
The Shared folder is there because if you are in one user account you are prevented from seeing the files inside other user accounts. (Because you don't want other accounts to be able to see your personal data.) If you want to share files with others in your house using the same Mac, that's a problem. But the Shared folder solves this. if you want some files to be accessible to all users, like some photos or music, just put them in the Shared folder and now anyone with an account on that computer can see those shared files.
The reason shared files are not simply stored at the top level is because everything above the Users folder is supposed to be reserved for the system. User-specific are supposed to stay in the Users folder. That is why they put the Shared folder in there.
If you are not using the Shared folder and are just eyeing it because you want to free up some disk space, well, it probably won't help to delete it. Because if you are not using the Shared folder, it is probably not taking up much space, even though you see stuff in there. And if there is stuff in there taking up space, first figure out if someone put it there for a reason before you delete it.

Deleted files from the Original and Data folders - help?

I imported my fiance's iphoto library to try to recover photos that I lost from when my hard drive crashed. They first were not importing into iphoto (while the files were on the harddrive), so I placed them in my Originals/Data iphoto folders. Now I have 6-8 versions of files that I don't even necessarily need, mostly thumbnails and a few of the original files.
I know I have made a lot of mistakes... so at this point what do I do- I've stopped manually deleting folders from these categories, but I do not want to lose what precious pictures I had from before the harddrive failure, and how do I get back to a iphoto library without duplicates?

3 - if you do not have a fully functioning iPhoto library then quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library to the desktop, launch iPhoto and create a new library and then open the bad iPhoto library on the desktop and open the originals folder and drag each folder from it onto the iPhoto icon in the dock (or the iPhoto event window) to create events with all of your photos, then back up and run duplicate annihilator
Since you have corrupted your library you can do anything you want to it before you create a new one from the remaining photos

What version of Android phone are you using?
Do you have a built-in file explorer or any third party File explorer installed on your phone?
If no, then i would recommend you to install a File explorer on your phone and then you would be able to browse files from within the Acrobat DC app on your Android phone.

Pismo: a quiet burial or roll away the stone and revive it?

I have been trying to revive a Pismo PowerBook G3 400 Mhz for secondary uses. When received, the Pismo had only 64MB in its bottom RAM slot, and no RAM in the top slot. It would only boot with the alternating folder icon/question mark, but it would boot.
I sought out and obtained an Airport Card, and two Pismo RAM sticks, 256MB and 512MB.
A few days ago I obtained the Pismo 256MB RAM chip, and put it in the top slot on this Pismo with the original 64MB on the bottom. The Pismo ran okay with the 256MB + 64MB, except I had to boot from an external firewire drive, running Tiger 10.4.2. I figure the old 10GB internal can't handle the Tiger system I put on it (or Panther, which I also tried), or more likely it's just had it's day.
Then yesterday, the 512MB chip arrived, and I've installed it.
I was going to replace the hard drive but couldn't (I don't have the right Torx screwdriver yet for the hard drive black screws) so I put the computer back together, 512MB chip on the bottom and 256MB on top.
It stopped working totally. Black screen, so startup sound, no sounds at all, nothing spinning, nothing at all. A reseat of the processor card brought a little noise, but nothing starting up, no chime, no display.
I tried the reset button, retraced all my steps taking it apart and back together 10 times, reseated the RAM carefully in different combinations, put back the original 64MB chip on the bottom and the 256MB on top, and other combinations. Now nothing works. Nada. Zip. No combination of the RAM works either, nor any of the RAM by itself.
Any idea what I've done to this poor machine? Everything looks fine, and it sure was working, although without the internal hard drive, only an external firewire drive, before I tried adding the additional RAM yesterday. What have I done?
I used the pbfixit.com instructions for changing RAM in a Pismo, so I went through these steps:
Computer off, unplugged, grounded, removed the battery, removed the keyboard, removed the heat shield, removed the airport card, removed the PRAM battery, removed the heat sink, removed the processor card that has the RAM slots on it, replaced or switched the RAM, had a look at the hard drive, replaced it carefully without having disconnected it, and then all of that in reverse.
I have removed the PRAM battery again. I have checked the mmc2 slot for bent pins. I have made sure I heard the 'click' when reseating the processor board. I have reset the machine with the power management button on the back.
The power on button did not power anything at first. I hear a very small noise now when the power is pressed, but there is nothing on the display, and there is no startup chime.
Thanks for any advice you might have, I hope I'm just missing something easy.

Apple has not put their logo on new lithium ion batteries for the black G3s for at least a couple of years, so even if the "new" battery has never been used, I would avoid it like the plague. Once you read this article, you will have your answer.

HT1660 When I install itunes, the xml and media folders are placed on desktop not in my music folder on Vista where I want them to be

So I've installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times, using control panel to unintall everything, then ccleaner to make sure nothing is left over. No ipod service and stuff left.
Each time I install, the defult folder where the Media Folder, and album art folder plus all the xml and other files are put on my desk top.
Opening up Itunes, preferences, changed folder to user/music/itunes it doesn't work, keeps defaulting back to desktop. Help please

Good to hear you got it fixed. A common reason for this issue is a problem with security permissions. This is another approach that may help in such cases.
Repair Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.

There is probably something wrong with the Envelope Index file. In the few cases I've seen something similar, however, there was also something wrong with the structure of the Mail folder, and we must fix that before trying to re-create the index.
In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. With that folder open, do Edit > Select All (⌘A), then Edit > Copy (⌘C), and paste it in your reply to this post, to let me see the names of the files and folders present at the root level of the Mail folder.
Before actually posting that information, you may edit it so that the file/folder names do not reveal any details you wish to keep private, e.g. you may replace any real username with "username" if you wish; similarly, you may disguise any domain names you don't want to be revealed. Try to be consistent in how you disguise those details, though, as we may need to refer to them in subsequent posts.
Now, go to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/. With that folder open, repeat the process to let me see the names of the files and folders it contains. Again, you may disguise any mailbox names you wish to keep private.
Finally, locate the account folders within ~/Library/Mail/ -- their name begins with the account type (POP, IMAP, .Mac), followed by the account username and the incoming mail server. For each account folder, repeat the process to let me see the names of the files and folders it contains.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's ~ folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the file path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the file path there.

(The only relevance of JSP to your question is that yes, you can generate HTML that uses one of those Javascript tree widgets.)

How can I have the inbox and other folders showing when I have a messaage open

When I have a message open, I cannot see my inbox and other folders. I need to scroll back through messages at the top until I find inbox. Is there a fix for this or is that the new setup for Mozilla?
