SPA 112 - Faxing with ATA gateway

I had a regular phone line but the only purpose for having that line was for sending faxes, which only happens a few times per month. So, naturally, I felt it was a waste to be paying so much money for it.
I purchased the SPA 112 and configured it to use with VoiceNetwork.ca. I was successfully able to send faxes.
I later cancelled my phone number and switched my internet to cable (since I was on DSL before).
I can no longer successfully complete a fax ever since I switched to cable internet. I don't know why because the speed is 3 times faster upload and 5 times faster download.
I'm guessing there is a setting that needs to be changed in the ATA admin panel to adjust for cable internet.
My configuration settings are attached as screenshots.

I had found out about the timing problem in the meantime, but did not find a way to mark this thread as solved.
There are two timing values: one is the PSTN answer delay, and the other one the PSTN ring timeout.
It seems that ring timeout should be longer than ring time + ring pause. As long as this conndition is not met. the dial plan is not even considered

Configuring FAX on ATA 186 with CME 3.4

Hi,
I have an ATA 186 connected to my network, I have configured CME for auto assign extensions & I got an extension as well, when I connect analog phone it works fine but when I connect FAX Machine I cannot send & recieve fax. Do I need to change any configurations in ATA???? Please check the screen shot attached

Updating spa 112 with firmware 1.0.2 (006)

I recently purchased a spa 112 and configured for the VoIP offered by my ISP. It work more or less fine but I would like to update to the latest firmware to have access to call display and other options.
The update process mentioned specifying a path where the new firmware is saved in the Phone Adapter Configuration Utility under the administration "tab". In my case, all that shows up on the left hand side is the quick setup option. This is true regardless of the actual tab selected.
It looks like I have an older hardware (1.0.0) and firmware 1.0.2 (006) version. Could someone direct me to the procedure to update to a newer firmware?

I had exactly the same problem. My original firmware was as well 1.0.2 and I wanted to upgrade to 1.3.3. However changing the browser didn't work (IE 8, IE 11, Firefox, Chromium, Safari).
Instead I used the following direct upgrade link:
http:///Upgrade_run.asp;session_id=
where has to be replaced by the generated ID after login (see address bar).
Example:

Cisco SPA 112 outbound call issue.

Firstly, i applogize if i havent posted this in the correct section but this was my best educated guess.
Recently upgraded to a Cisco SPA 112 which works fine.. but only for a few days,
then If i try to call a number i get the dial tone but the number fails to
connect & all i hear is silence. If i hang up the phone to retry it fails to
disconnect correctly and i get no dial tone for several minutes. After leaving the phone
hungup for a few mins the dail tone returns but the same problem is still present.
A hard/soft reset of the 112 fixes the issue temporarily, but reoccures again withinn a few days.
Running Sipgate on lines 1 and 2 on Virgin media UK ISP.

Gabriel, I have an FTP running on my sat receiver which i will attempt to use to catch the log, but as for the the "sipgate registration", when i loose conection my ata reports its still registered & the sipgate URL, isnt in real time as far as i can tell.
My ata would have normally shown its fault since my first post 6 days ago, but unfortunately a recent power cut has reset my testing period back to 1 day.

There is no issue in line 1 but line 2 is automatically went to disable mode.After that i have to manually enabled that option.

Force/lock rtp ports in SPA 112/122.

I hope someone can help me. I am looking for a setting inside the Cisco/Linksys spa 112/122 which can force the rtp source port to be the same on the sip provider - is that possible? When the spa 112/122 connects to the sip provider is the port number from the box is 16384(standard range 16384-16482 inside the spa) but on the sip provider will respons with eg. port 36741.

Before you proceed to add the line shown below, I'm guessing you're unable to access and PING 172.20.16.8 once you've successfully VPN in, am I right? If yes, which groupname and username did you use? Lastly, did you use IPSEC VPN Client or WebVPN?

SPA 112/122 FW 1.1.0 (011) provisioning problem

I have problem with provisionig Cisco SPA 112/122 after upgrade FW to 1.1.0 (011).
Is there any solution or just we should not use this FW?
We use provisioning by entering url to
Profile Rule: http://prov.802.cz/prov.xml
set short times and Submit, but nothing happens :-(
After downgrade FW to 1.0.1 (022) provisionign work with no problem.

What's going on with Project "Gateway" and Sybase?

I've just returned from Teched in Berlin where I followed mostly the mobile track of sessions.
I've come away alternately energised and confused. Each topic in its own right is clear, but piecing allthe components together is a different matter.
Has anyone got opinions on the future role of project Gateway? I saw many sessions by Sybase on the SUP and only one which mentioned Gateway. Gateway didn't feature in the mobile strategy slides. However, I have seen material mentioning the future tie-up of the two. If this should happen, then how might they interact? And what future for the co-innovation platform? Can we draw any conclusions on this yet?
The instant value mobile apps session CD161 seems to build on top of the SAP Data Protocol (SDP), but thinking back, they didn't mention Gateway in there at all. And the co-innovation platform session was silent on both Gateway and SDP
So does "Instant Value" equal "Project Gateway"? It can't be since the Sybase guys talk a lot about Instant Value. Are there two interpretations of this term within the organisation?
Just hoping to kick off a general discussion on this subject. All opinions and replies welcome. Especially from insiders...

Hi Steffan - good point. I kind of assumed that LMS is another term for Project Gateway... They seem to be addressing the same problem, and the architecture diagrams look qualitatively similar. The CD121 Sybase slides also talk about the "SAP Mobile Connector", which might be yet another name for the same thing. I think you would know better than me since you've already built that thing you showed at the Demo Jam - what data consumption technology was your demo-ed app using?
I get the impression that there have been a number of independent development streams within SAP which are only now being brought together. This manifests itself to us as mixed or incomplete messages. It's easy to see how at a teched, each group might be responsible for getting its own message out and not necessarily integrating into the overall message of the mobile strategy.
So essentially there are two categories of mobile app inthe SAP vision:
1. Instant Value and
2. Mission Critical.
Then there are various methods of consuming SAP backend data from our mobile apps:-
1. Netweaver mobile DOE (via co-innovation platform?)
2. LMS
3. Project Gateway
4. Web services
5. BAPIs (via JCA)
(This is five methods, not four, which is another reason why I thought LMS and Gateway were the same thing).
Then on top (or underneath?) of all this, you have to make a call on whether to make use of the SUP middleware and/or a security product like Afaria.
So perhaps the most likely combinations look like:-
Mission Critical apps with SUP ( + Afaria ) + DOE/Gateway
or
Instant Value apps with (LMS/Gateway or simply Web services/JCA)
But if you have a LOT of Instant-value apps to build I guess your landscape could become complicated enough to justify the middleware too.
Now please someone point out the flaws in this summary!

How to Fax with SAP R/3 4.7

Hey guys,
i have to configure our SAP R/3 release 4.7 system, so that it is able to send a Fax. I have read about SAPconnect and the SMTP PlugIn from WebAS. I found many information about the configuration at the SAP system, but nothing about server software that is able to send a incomming SMTP mail via modem to the fax-machine of the recipient.
Can anybody propose me a software that i can use? Or can you tell me the easiest konfiguration or Systeminfrastructur to send a fax with a SAP R/3 SmartForm?

We just went live with the "RightFax Server" in Production. The problem we are encountering with the RightFax is the return notification (outlook email) does not have the Purchase Order anywhere in the email. We currently have it set up, so that both successful & failed transmission sends an email.
I was wondering how you handled this - if at all. Do you receive email notification back from RightFax?
I understand that there's a way to modify the SAPSCRIPT to include some "FAX Commands" so that this PO number could be included in the email. Have you done this? If yes, where does the fax command have to be included - in the actual program or the form routine? Can you send me an example of any fax command that you have implemented in the SAPSCRIPT?

Error when connecting an oracle DB with Integration gateway

I followed the steps from the blog How to connect an Oracle DB with Integration Gateway in SMP3 and the ojdbc was deployed successfully to SMP. Still, i'm getting "Driver class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver not found" error message when i try to test my connection. The first difference i saw when completing these steps was that I'm using SMP3 SP05, could this be the issue?

Can you cross check if deployed driver are OSGi enabled? Refer this.
Can you share screenshot of the destination settings and error ?
note: The blog you followed is referring to SP03 (1st GA of SMP3)..You should not have any problem in connecting to Oracle DB being on any SP.

Problem with RD gateway manager

Hi,
Have some problems with manager. It used to work, but suddenly I can't connect to local server.
Get this error:
"The RD Gateway Managment snap-in console cannot connect to the server. To connect to this server, you must be a memeber of the local administrators group on the server."
The user account that i'm using is a member of the local administrator group.
Any ideas?
The RDS server is a Win2012 server. The AD server is a win 2008 R2 server.

For this you need to create RD Rap and RD CAP policies. When you create the RD RAP, add the user groups that you defined in the RD CAP. Also, create a new RD Gateway-managed computer group that contains both the NetBIOS names and the fully qualified domain
names (FQDNs) of the RD Session Host servers or the RD Session Host server farm that hosts the RemoteApp programs.

You could customize the Word NIRG Type to add a new Requirement element which uses a regular expression to parse Table information.
When you include requirements in a Table, NIRG parses that information into the intermediate file in the form of |d Requirement_ID REQX: blah, where "|" specifies the beginning of a new cell in the row and d specifies the cell number.
Please take a look at the attached project which is a modification of the NIRG Word example. You'll notice that I use a custome Type called Word1 to load the Word Example - Requirements.doc file.

BPM Parallel Process with Exclusive Gateway

Hi,
I am facing issue with Exclusive Gateway in Parallel Process.
Issu is, process always in In-Progress state at parallel Join. I mean process stops at Parallel Join and more over there are no errors in the process. If I delete Exclusive Gateway in Parallel process, the process is going to next level human task through Parallel Join. It means working fine.
I have designed my process in such a way that, 1st task is Human Task ---> then Parallel Split with 2 Human tasks, out of one task performing throught Excusive Gateway and another one is just simple approval. Finally I am merging these two Human tasks using Parallel Join then finally triggerting Approval Human task, and closing the Process.
Appreciate your quick suggestions to fix this issue.

If I delete Exclusive Gateway it is working fine. I have checked step by step tasks in NWA, and every thing goes well.

I have also a old 56K modem. If i connect it to the mac can it work together to adsl router or will i get some conflict?
