SPA 122 ATAs not registering
We provision our SPA 122 ATAs via a provisioning server. We have been using this method successfully to register our ATAs with our voice server. For the past two days we have been unable to register any 122 ATAs. The ATAs are pulling the configuration, as well as the upgrade file (spa122-1-2-1-004), however they are not registering. When we use the same method for the old SPA 2102 ATAs, the configuration and the upgrade file are downloaded and the ATA registers. Should also note that the SPA 122 is also receiving an IP address and we can browse the internet through the device. We would appreciate any advice you can give.
Regards,
Nikolas Rock
We need to look at the debug log to see if the phone is sending out any registration messages.
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9862 for info on setting up debug log.
If it's not sending out messages, we need to see the configuration. Thanks.

SPA phones are not registering
hi people
i have UC 540 and i ahve one SPA504G and SPA 525G phones, when i turn on phone it gives message on screen "Downloading XML efault.cnf files" and it stays in this order until i reboot the phone and on 525G its getting main screen but not registering , just a clean front screen showing.
also same phones are registering on my other UC 540 device
kindly help me out
i have CME 8.6 installed
thanks in advanceHello Khurram,
Jeffrey makes a valid point, either you have faulty handsets or their operating system has become corrupt.
You can either try and reset the units back to factory defaults and then plug them back into the phone system (Best to do this off a power pack with the SPA phones) and then have the phones attempt to reinitialize themselves again.
Or you can just contact SBSC and have them guide you over the phone, and if the issue still remains they can assist you with the RMA process over the phone.
Cheers,
David Trad.

Well what can I say ? we purchased a few 122's for testing & product evalation and with the latest firmware SPA1xx_1.1.0_011.bin about a week after flashing it, there is now static sounds and buzzing coming from spa-122 ata, once I swapped out the spa-122 for a good old pap2t or my 2102 units works like a charm sounds great and no issues period, Has anyone seen or heard of an issues reguarding dialtone static/buzzing sounds?
ThanksFYI, just got today another inacceptable response from Cisco, honestly I'm very frustrated with this new SPA122 that has been release to public without proper QA, that replacement of the SPA2102 should NOT has been release to public, I have a OPEN CASE since September 2012 > 9 months open ticket, troubleshooting hell with them, and they can't even offer me a replacement, upgrade to working product, offer alternative... Warranty is about to expire, then I'll be stuck with a broken, untested and useless device. What are our rights?!? I may sound very ULTRA frustrated, well I AM. Cisco customer service suck with VOIP product. I've been in network engineering for > 22 years, never experience that low quality support with Cisco and other vendors... I can't even escalate the issue to upper, they are just not cooperative. Not only EVERY owner of an SPA122 are having unstable issues, well too bad for us for purchasing that item, we are alone without support and endless efforts on reseting the bad not working devices...
Patrick Born, can you do something for me (us), do you think it's acceptable that kind of services?
Response of today: That's quality and service...

ATA 186 (SIP coverted to SCCP) will not register to CM
I have a situation where SIP ATA's were ordered instead of SCCP. I downloaded and upgraded the ATA's with Version 3.2.3 software for SCCP. The ATA's pull ther configuration form the callmanager tftp server, but they will not register with callmanager. Anyone have any ideas that might help?
Thanksyou can browse to the ATA, in 3.2.3 just to the ip-address
http://ata-ip-address/
Also, can you see errors in the CCM traces where the ATA tries to register to?
Is your environment using DNS, or do you have ip-addresses for CallManager server config? -
We just upgraded SPA 122 to version 1..1.1 Ver 011. After the upgrade SPA cannot register to the PBX to which it was registered before. PBX doesn't even show any registration attempts by it. From the SPA we can ping the domain to which it is trying to register. Confused.
Thank you Patrick,
Here is the result of the capture after these instructions. Interestingly in this log I do not even see an attempt to register line 1. We have configured line 1 to register to localpbx and line 2 to register to babytel trunk...

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
DHCP dynamically allocates and assigns an IP address to network devices.
DHCP enables you to connect an IP phone into the network and have the phone become operational without your needing to manually assign an IP address or to configure additional network parameters.
DHCP is enabled by default. If disabled, you must manually configure the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and a TFTP server on each phone locally.
Cisco recommends that you use DHCP custom option 150. With this method, you configure the TFTP server IP address as the option value. For additional supported DHCP configurations, go to the "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol" chapter and the "Cisco TFTP" chapter in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager System Guide.
Note
If you cannot use option 150, you may try using DHCP option 66. -
SPA 122 remove restricted access domains
Hello
My spa 122 has a customization profile active and i want to remove it. But i don't know how to do it. Firmeware Update, Factory reset, disabling provisioning don't help.
I tried to create a sample config file with the Cisco Profile Compiler but no luck, the spa 122 tell me everytime Restore failed...
All i want is to remove the settings from the customization, like "restricted access domains" ect.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
mfg
PascalOK thank you Dan for your answer.
I bought the box from an ISP, but i don't want to use this ISP, so i can not reset the config to default settings without customization ect? With a sample.cfg file from anywhere? -
Local Transcoder not registered
G'Day.
Have a 2911 router with c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-4.M4.bin. Configuration for local trancoder had been already in place but is unregistered. Need your inputs regarding the issue i'm experiencing. Also, i'm configuring SIP trunking to ITSP and cannot establish both incoming and out-going calls and I think the unregistered transcoder might be one of the cause. Attached are the configurations.Your current sccp state should show up as:
Transcoding Oper State: ACTIVE_IN_PROGRESS - Cause Code: TCP_CONN_ERROR
Active Call Manager: NONE
TCP Link Status: NOT_CONNECTED, Profile Identifier: 1
Profile Operation State : RESOURCE ALLOCATED
Application : SCCP Status : ASSOCIATION IN PROGRESS
The reason your transcoder is not registering is because you don't have the following commands under telephony-service
max-dn
max-ephone
Run these 2 commands under telephony-service and then do show sccp. It should work fine.
Thanks -
SPA 122 with Polycom Equipment
I have a number of these devices, SPA 122's, set up at various customer sites with Polycom analog conference units running on a hosted telephony platform. They are all running the latest firmware. They all work great except for one problem.
A standard functionality of Polycom equipment is the ability to intercom other phones on the PBX using (* + 1 + Extension #). However, the problem that I am running into is that the IRV default access is also done by selecting (*) from the analog device. Is there a setting that I can change that would allow me to avoid this conflict? I understand I may loose the ability to configure the ATA using the IVR and will neeed to use the web management. This is fine.
Can anyone provide assistance with this?Try the following.
Update the 'dial plan' (line tab) and the 'feature dial services codes' (regional tab).
In the dial plan, remove the *xx and put in *1xx. if you plan to dial *1 and 2 or more digits afterward.
In the feature dial services codes, put in the same *1xx.
Remove the default settings for Secure call in the Vertical Service Activation Codes, since those * codes start with *1. -
KABA connection issue - program not registered
I am trying to troubleshoot a connection error between SAP and KABA. I have the RFC created in SAP and when I test the connection I get a program not registered. The KABA "amsproc" service on the KABA side has been restarted, we have occasionally received a password locked message in the SAP system log after restarting the KABA service (I believe this means SAP and KABA are communicating). We have since reset the password, but we can not successfully test the RFC and when attempting to send IDOC's out we get the program not registered error. Is there something on the SAP side that needs to be done to register the program or is starting the service on the KABA side going to register the program with SAP? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hi,
In Central Management Console ie, Admin application of BOE, you need to configure the BW system. Use the below URL,
http://<serverhostname>:<port>/CmcApp
After logging in Select the Authentication and SAP as authentication type. Regarding how to configure, follow the configuration steps mentioned in the below article:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a00ee3b2-5283-2b10-f1bf-8c6413e0898f
Once you import the roles with the above configuration, the user with which you are validating the RFC connection will be imported in the BOE.
Now, verify the RFC in the BW system.
Regards,
Noor. -

What is the version of app server on HP UX ? How did you deploy on the app
server in HP UX using command line deployment or GUI tool ? Where are these
errors shooting from, are these coming at the time of deployment or thrown at
runtime ? What is the application type that you are trying to deploy ?, if

Gateway error - Program not registered
Hello,
We were getting the following error while doing a "Connection test" of a TCP/IP RFC destination:
LOCATION SAP-Gateway on host gisrxx / sapgw00
ERROR program SBCX not registered
It's an ECC 6.0 system.
I found SAP note - - 353597 - Registering a RFC program
I executed the following command as sidadm
rfcexec -aSBCX -ggisrxx -xsapgw00
But the command keeps on running on teh command prompt.
And for that duration the RFC works.
But after sometime the command ends and comes back to command prompt and the RFC doesn't work any more.
Could you tell what needs to be done to resolve this issue?
Regards,
Gautam.Hi Gautam,
Please run the program in background (Unix) or as a service (Windows).
Please go through the following forum post. This should help.
Run rfcexec as service on windows

RFC : Transaction Program not Registered
Hi Folks,
We have registered the server program from the middleware onto SAP R/3 System and is successfully registered as per the logs. As a next step, we have logged into R/3 System, SM59, in the RFC destination (Type TCP/IP) after specifying the registered program, we have tested it(Connectivity test). The test is positive and connectivity is established successfully.
The solution was working for months and suddenly connectivity is broken.
To restore the connection, we have repeated the steps, registered the server program, tested and everything is fine.
But when we have pushed a new message, then onwards the RFC destination shows an error. "TP is not registered", Return Code 679. That is when the first message is pushed, it is de-registering the server program and running into error. All the messages got stuck in SM58 with status 'Error when opening an RFC connection'.
RFC trace shows
ERVER> Caller transaction code: (Caller Program: SAPLQOWK)
ERVER> Called function module: ARFC_RUN_NOWAIT
Error RFCIO_ERROR_SYSERROR in abrfcpic.c : 1501
CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=2 thRc=679
Transaction program not registered.
Please let me know for any inputs.
Thanks, SurajMy problem got solved. In the middleware, when TRFC connection is made, it has created a lock entry during the time, system was brought down for maintenance activity. When the system is brought up, then as the connection lock entry is available, then it deregistered the server program and not able to establish further connection.
To resolve the issue, we have just deleted lock file and registered server program from middleware. This time the connection was established successfully and could able to restore the message flow.
Thanks, Suraj -
TREX7.1 - Program not registered
Hi to all experts,
I am implementing TREX7.1 revision 36 (latest) which is standalone, but I encountered the error - program not registered while creating the RFC connection in admin tool. Previously the connection was working but it happens when I switched the RFCSERVER to "single thread (all hosts), deleted the old RFC connection and recreate the new one.
I have tried the following methods:
1. removed TREX and reinstall it again.
2. executed rfcexec u2013g<program id> -a<gateway host name> -x<gateway service> (it seems like nothing has been changed) - I registered it in SAP server, am I correct?
Thanks in advance.
BR,
NancyHi to all experts,
Problem solved once i restarted the SAP server and recreated the RFC connection in TREX server.
