SPA 122 returns 180 ringing after 10 seconds

Hi Folks,
I have this weird issue where the SPA takes 9.7 seconds (as per looking in the tcpdump) after receiving the INVITE to return the 180 Ringing. But it returns the 100 Trying after 0.06 seconds so I know it got the INVITE.
t0 => INVITE sent to SPA
t0+0.06 => SPA returns 100 Trying
t0+9.7 => SPA returns 180 Ringing
The phone only ring at the time the 180 is returned. It is a standard installation (as with my multiple other SPA devices out there) and I already had my customer restart the cable modem, the router and the ATA.
Any hints as to what I should check or any debug I should collect would be appreciated. I have a strong background in SIP and VoIP but this type of ATA is fairly new and I am sure it is something within the ATA that is not properly working.
This ATA uses NAT and runs FW 1.3.1(003).
Thanks much!
Benoit

Hi Benoit,
Use the https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-26697 document to enable debug on your ATA and use Wireshark or a syslog server to collect the resulting output. The output may give us some clues as to the cause of the delay.
What you're describing is indeed pretty weird. I've just tested in my lab using a factory-defaulted SPA122 running 1.3.1(003) which I registered to two different ITSPs. An inbound call to the SPA122 FXS port results in a 100 TRYING followed 0.12 seconds later by the 180 RINGING. I see no delay between the 100 and 180.
It may be worth factory-defaulting the ATA in case its configuration has been to something unknown.
Regards,

  • IPhone 3GS rings after 5 seconds

This is very weird and it happens to my iPhone 3GS and my sister's 3GS. So when someone calls the iPhone, it doesn't ring immediately. It actually takes at least 5, sometimes more seconds to ring. This is a lot of time and I miss important calls. Both phones are FACTORY unlocked and work on T-Mobile but it's the same on AT&T so it's not provider's issue since other phones don't have this problem. I saw a lot of people have had similar problem. Does any one know if I can fix this? It's definitely not a defective phone it's just the way it is with the iphone and I don't have any idea why it takes 5-10 seconds before it starts ringing

Let me explain this again. It doesn't go to voicemail quickly. Imagine phone 1 and phone 2. I make a call from a phone 1, wait 5-6-7 seconds and phone 2 (the iPhone) starts ringing
Let me see again if I understand what you are saying. When do you start counting these seconds? Is it from the first time you hear a ring in your ear on the phone you are calling from? I've had a number of phones, and I know that calls need setup time, generally a little more than landline phones. I know in a later post you mention a Nokia only taking < 1 second. You also say it is not going to voicemail too quickly. I guess my real delemia here is, how are you missing calls if they are not going to voicemail. Do they just quit ringing because the person on the other end is hanging up? How long are they waiting, or in your case, how long did it ring before it went to voicemail before you hung up on your test call, I guess the question is how many rings. I'm not understanding why this delay in the beginning of ringing is troubling you if the calls is not being rerouted to voicemail, therefore impacting your ability to answer it.
The standard troubleshooing steps are power off/on the phone, if that doesn't help, then a reset, holding the power and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo, then releasing, ignoring the slide to power off screen. The next step is a restore, first from a backup, the next as a new phone or not from backup. The next step is outside of user troubleshooting and that is to send or take it to Apple, however since you purchased these units in England, that is where you would have to go for service, since the iPhones are serviced in the country they were sold in.
    Hope one of these help.

  • Sales Return from Customer after 180 days

    Hi,
I have a requirement on sales return, if the return is done after 180 days, government does not allow to adjust the respective tax amount relating to that return goods.
    For example:/sales invoice:
    Customer Dr 110
    Tax          Cr   10
    Sales       Cr 100
In case of return this entry will reversed (if it is partial partial amount will be reversed).
    Requirement:
If the return is happened after 180 days, tax reverse can not be accepted.
In this case what is the scenario.
    1.  Is this tax amount goes to Tax expnese account (Dr P/L account)
    2.  Is this tax amount added to Material Stock value
Please update me which more details.
    Thanks
    Partha

    Hi,
Perhaps Note 34526 - Delivery free of charge and value-added tax will suggest you a solution. You must handle it with a VOFM in the pricing procedure.
    I hope this helps you

  • Phone connection is breaking down after a second of ringing

When trying to make a phonecall, the phone dials correctly and connects to the recipient. you hear it ringing with a free tone and after one second
the connection breaks down, you hear a busy signal.
The same happens when anyone tries to call me. You see the incoming call, after one second the connection breakes down and the display
    shows "missed call"
    Is this problem known ?

I can´t imagine, that it is a carrier problem. All other functions as sms, internet and so on are working fine and without any problem

  • Dropped Incoming calls after 20 seconds, Reason: Q.850;cause=86

I have the following scenario for incoming calls:
    PSTN ---- E1 ---> Digium Gateway --- SIP ---> Router 2921 ------SIP ----> CUCM
All incoming calls from the PSTN get dropped after 20 seconds. All outgoing calls to the PSTN work fine..
The Router 2921 generates a BYE message with Reason: Q.850;cause=86 to the Digium Gateway.
Attached is the debug, show run and a packet capture with all the SIP messages..
If someone could please give me to a solution.
    Thanks!

The  200 Ok is  not being acknowledged  by the  Digium Gateway .  Hence the call is dropped .
Please check why  the "Digium" side is not sending an ACK  for this transaction.
    Hope this  helps!

  • Superdrive ejecting discs after few seconds ...

    Hi,
Everthing worked well for 5 months ... After last update of the Tiger to 10.4.5 I have noticed that whatever type of disc I insert superdrive is ejecting it after few seconds. I've tried CD Audio , DVD's ever Tiger installation discs .. all were ejected after few seconds ...
Do you have any ideas what may be wrong ?
    it's strange ???
    Kind Regards
    Ralph

    hi ralph--
i would try various things for this. first i would boot to open firmware holding apple-option-o-f and then type in the following commands--
    reset-nvram (hit return)
    set-defaults (hit return)
    reset-all (hit return)
the last command restarts the computer. if that does nothing, then try an smu reset, which is quite simple for your model of computer. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303446. also, install any available firmware updates for your computer. they are available on this page. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303903 if that doesn't do anything, then i would try disk repair http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672. and if that fails, then i would try the archive and install http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120. but if you archive, make sure you repair the disk beforehand, and do software updates after. i would not archive and install without go through the other troubleshooting steps. hope this solves your problem. • SPA942 disconnects after 30 seconds.

My voip ph keeps hanging up after 30 seconds. I used to have a linksys wag200g and my voip worked fine but as soon as I changed my modem to a speedstream 6520 my voip ph keeps hanging up. I've been told I need to do port forwarding but the portforward.com website is a little vague for me. Pls help!!

Usually the ports that the SPA-942 uses are 5060-6061. Try to also set NAT Mapping Enable and NAT Keep Alive Enable to “Yes”. Go also to the Provisioning Tab and set Provision Enable to “No”.

  • I-photo has been working brilliantly until after my last update. Now it automatically closes after 10 seconds. The warning box appears but offers no solution. I have reloaded the software, but this has made no difference. Has anyone else experienced this

I am having problems with i-photo. It automatically closes after 10 seconds. the warning box gives no guidance. Anyone else had this problem?

    What "warning box"?
Assuming you're using iPhoto 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • On starting up, my macbook pro shuts down after 25 seconds of booting up.

Hi there. On starting up, my macbook pro shuts down after 25 seconds of booting up. The time bar comes on for a while before it simply goes blank and switches off without any notification. Battery iappears charged. Could it be a virus? Help please!! O

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Only my MBP Drops L2TP VPN Connection after 60 Seconds

My Old G4 Laptop and my Dual G5 Tower both connect to my office via L2TP VPN without an issue. with the exact same settings exported over to my mac book pro, the connection drops after exactly 60 seconds. I've tried both wireless and wired connections, and in either case, the VPN drops after 60 seconds of connect time.

I checked with my VPN administrator. He upgraded the XServe to Mac OS 10.4.5, and we tried again, with the same results. He sent me the server log to post:

              Hi Hendry,

JTA and increase the timeout seconds there.
              Hope this helps you.

  • My shuffle 4th gen autolock and after 2 seconds it's unable to unlock. Help me !!!!

    Hello all,
My apple Ipod Shuffle 4th gen 2gb open and after 2 second it make a "click" sound and orange light blink twice. After this, the press of a button doesn't make anything. I have to turn off and then turn on to have another 2 second to adjust volume and change song. It is an autolock or something like this ? please help me.
    Thanks in advance !
    MaStErbLk

I've solved my problem, but i don't recommend to do this with your Shuffle.
the Warranty is off for my shuffle cuz i've open it to solve the problem. my brother said to me that my shuffle was on these pants during the laundry...... I've open it and clean all the components with an appropriate solvent. and rebuilt all the shuffle with the soldering of the battery and clean the control pad connector and plug.....
And now it work great, but you should be very experimented to do that because it's very hard to open the shuffle and don't break any part...
for your shuffle, ajohnson, maybe the play/pause button is sticked, you can go the store where you buy it if the return policy of the shop is not passed, or ship it to apple to a repair.... Good luck

  • SPA-122 issues

Well what can I say ?  we purchased a few 122's for testing & product evalation and with the latest firmware SPA1xx_1.1.0_011.bin about a week after flashing it, there is now static sounds and buzzing coming from spa-122 ata, once I swapped out the spa-122 for a good old pap2t or my 2102 units works like a charm sounds great and no issues period, Has anyone seen or heard of an issues reguarding  dialtone static/buzzing sounds?
    Thanks

FYI, just got today another inacceptable response from Cisco, honestly I'm very frustrated with this new SPA122 that has been release to public without proper QA, that replacement of the SPA2102 should NOT has been release to public, I have a OPEN CASE since September 2012 > 9 months open ticket, troubleshooting hell with them, and they can't even offer me a replacement, upgrade to working product, offer alternative... Warranty is about to expire, then I'll be stuck with a broken, untested and useless device. What are our rights?!? I may sound very ULTRA frustrated, well I AM. Cisco customer service suck with VOIP product. I've been in network engineering for > 22 years, never experience that low quality support with Cisco and other vendors... I can't even escalate the issue to upper, they are just not cooperative. Not only EVERY owner of an SPA122 are having unstable issues, well too bad for us for purchasing that item, we are alone without support and endless efforts on reseting the bad not working devices...
Patrick Born, can you do something for me (us), do you think it's acceptable that kind of services?
Response of today: That's quality and service...

The issue you reported remains open with Engineering & Development teams.
This issue may be addressed in a forthcoming Maintenance Release firmware,
however there is no ETA for this release. We will continue to monitor
Engineering & Development team progress and notify you as soon as any
updated information becomes available. Please let us know if you have any
    questions.

  • SPA 122 Firmware upgrade

We just upgraded SPA 122 to version 1..1.1 Ver 011. After the upgrade SPA cannot register to the PBX to which it was registered before. PBX doesn't even show any registration attempts by it. From the SPA we can ping the domain to which it is trying to register. Confused.

    Thank you Patrick,
Here is the result of the capture after these instructions. Interestingly in this log I do not even see an attempt to register line 1. We have configured line 1 to register to localpbx and line 2 to register to babytel trunk...
