SPA 50x , ignore multicast paging while on DND

Hello,
I saw another person post this question but went unanswered. Is there any way to make a SPA 50x ignore a multicast page while the phone is on DND ? I have tested this with an SPA 525g and this is how it functions already but on any of my 50x's it will still page the phone if its on DND or not. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, it's not possible on SPA50X

• What is the "Backup IP" reboot reason on the Cisco SPA 50x IP phones?

Hi,
We have a customer, at a remote site with SPA504G phones, they have a problem with the phones rebooting once in a while, typically once an hour.
In the reboot history on the phones the reason is "Backup IP".
I cant find any reference to this in the SPA 50x manuals or anywhere else, so what do this actually mean?
The phones are deployed using SIP, and are running firmware 7.4.9c.
The phones /admin/status.xml has this information:
<    <Reboot_Reason_1>Backup IP(01/01/2003 12:00:00)</Reboot_Reason_1>
<Reboot_Reason_2>Backup IP(04/25/2012 07:43:29)</Reboot_Reason_2>
<Reboot_Reason_3>Backup IP(04/25/2012 06:40:45)</Reboot_Reason_3>
<    <Reboot_Reason_4>Backup IP(04/25/2012 05:38:02)</Reboot_Reason_4>
<Reboot_Reason_5>Backup IP(04/25/2012 04:35:18)</Reboot_Reason_5>
The manual has information about several other reboot reasons, but I can't find any information about this "Backup IP" reason.

• SPA-50x RFC 4235 support

As I have not been able to find any way to submit a support case to Cisco regarding these phones, and in hopes that someone from Cisco may see this, I'd like to request full support for RFC 4235 in the SPA-50x series phones. This is so that in SIP proxy environments the SPA phones can provide their own presence information to the server. The server would SUBSCRIBE to the phone, and the phone would send NOTIFYs of type application/dialog-info+xml whenever there is a state change (ringing, on the phone, etc.). The acceptable Expires time received in a SUBSCRIBE should also be allowed to be VERY short (1 second) so that if the proxy needs to only see what calls are ringing on the phone in order to intercept them, it won't have to make a persistent subscription to the phone.
I have attached a packet capture showing how Polycom sends NOTIFYs on state change in accordance with RFC 4235. If anyone knows how to get this information to the Cisco SPA team for review I would greatly appreciate letting them see this.
If you have any questions post here and I will attempt to answer them.

Hey,
Its because you have both static and network statement for neighbor 10.10.YY.3 so EIGRP is communicating on unicast and ignoring multicast.

• Configuring SG500 to work with UCAC-CE and BE3K for multicast paging

I need help configuring multicast on my SG500 swtiches. One is L3 no router involved. The Attendant works fine paging in Unicast. but I need to set it up for Multicast. I have no experience working with Multicast and I'm not sure what to do.. I dont even know if I need a router.. since the Switch is acting as a L3.

Hello,
While I've not personally set this up, I did run across Smart Tip that may aid in your quest.

• How to ignore a node while reading data from XML file

Hi All,
I have a XML file that i am reading that XML file using XMLStreamReader and then i need to create another XML file that has specific nodes(from the database).
I need to ignore nodes(with values) that are not in the database and while creating the XML file, only nodes that are it the database should be written in the new file.*
For eg.
<XML>
<Stud>

<Roll>1</Roll>
<Class>1</Class>
</Stud>
<Stud>

<Roll>2</Roll>
<Class>1</Class>
</Stud>
</XML>
In database i have only two node :
and <Roll>.
So, my new XML will be
<XML>
<Stud>

<Roll>1</Roll>
</Stud>
<Stud>

<Roll>2</Roll>
</Stud>
</XML>

• Sun PKCS#11 provider ignores the PIN while loading keystore in Windows JRE

We are using smart card based login in our GUI application. We use active client for Card reader. We are using sun PKCS#11 provider to read certificate from the CARD. In the code we are passing PIN while loading the keystore. It seems the pin is getting ignored and we get active client pin dialog.
PS: In linux JRE the pin passed while loading keystore is working properly.
Below is the code snippet that i used for testing.
public static void main(String arg[]) throws Exception
try
//Create our certificates from our CAC Card
String configName = "card.config";
Provider p = new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11(configName);
Security.addProvider(p);
char[] pin = { '1', '2', '3', '4', '5', '6' };
KeyStore cac = null;
cac = KeyStore.getInstance("PKCS11");
cac.load(null, pin);
showInfoAboutCAC(cac);
catch(Exception ex)
ex.printStackTrace();
System.exit(0);
public static void showInfoAboutCAC(KeyStore ks) throws KeyStoreException, CertificateException, FileNotFoundException, IOException
Enumeration<String> aliases = ks.aliases();
int count = 0;
while (aliases.hasMoreElements())
String alias = aliases.nextElement();
X509Certificate[] cchain = (X509Certificate[]) ks.getCertificateChain(alias);
if (cchain != null){
System.out.println("Certificate Chain for : " + alias);
for (int i = 0; i < cchain.length; i ++)
System.out.println(i + " SubjectDN: " + cchain.getSubjectDN());
System.out.println(i + " IssuerDN: " + cchain[i].getIssuerDN());
content of card.config is
name = myConfig
library = C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\acpkcs211.dll
Alternative we can see the same behaviour if we run the following command
keytool -keystore NONE -storetype PKCS11 -providerClass sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11 -providerArg "E:\work1\card.config" -list
This command will ask ping in the command line and again active client PIN diaolog will be prompted.
Please let me know if this a bug in Sun PKCS#11 provider in Windows and is there any work around to fix the issue.

The program is just to simulate the issue. I understand that user have to pass the pin. In our GUI we have our own dialog to get the pin from user and pass it to the PKCS#11 provider that uses the pin while loading the keystore.
cac.load(null, pin); // the pin passed in load method is not used at all
My problem here is even after the proper pin is supplied by the user the active client PIN dialog is prompted. Whereas in LInux JRE this works fine.
We have a command line application where active client dialog popup is not acceptable. We need to get the PIN from user as command argument and load the keystore.
Please let me know if this clarifies the confusion.
Thanks,
Ruhul

• Is it possible to ignore some events, while executing some code?

The problem is following: imagine the interface, consisting of three buttons - start, stop, save and one graph indicator. When one press start button some sequence of events is fired, and some data is shown on the graph (this sequence can be prolonged in time for a few hours). After completion of sequence one can save data. All is good except one thing: what will happen if start button have been pressed while execution? Start sequence will be fired again and previously acquired data will be lost. So the question is following: is it possible to erase (or ignore) some events from events stack?
Locking front panel is not good idea, because some other controls (for example stop) might be needed.
Making start
button disabled and grayed out is not good idea because user can click on that button (thus generate events) a lot of times before the disabling will occur.
Creation of data buffer for storing graphs is not good idea as well because it do not solves the problem.

In newer version of LabVIEW, you can use dynamic event registration. What is your version?
I would add e.g. a shift registers that keeps track of the state, then you can query it in each event case. Each event case will have a case structure inside wired to the state. States could be (0: new, 1: data has bee acquired, 2: all is saved, etc.). "Start" would only work if state is 0 or 2, "save" would only work if state is 1, etc.

• Any way to temporarily ignore smart guides while using the pen tool?

I'm having a hate and love relationship with Smart Guides. When I want them they're bad; when I don't they're good.
While trying to do some things with the pen tool, I am frequently faced with the smart guides snapping my tool around without my wanting it snapped. I'm not really that good with the pen tool yet, so it's making an uphill climb even harder when they interfere.
Now I know that I can disable smart guides by doing Ctrl-U, but this has the side effect of releasing my pen from the current curve I'm working on. When I click the end of that curve to start where I left off it changes the anchor to a corner instead of curve and messes up what I was going on. This wouldn't be such a problem except that I sometimes want the guides while I'm still on the same curve so I don't want to fully disable them as I'm working and then have to re-enable to fix a spot, know what I mean?
So, is there a key I can hold down to temporarily turn disable smart guides or ignore them in some way? I've hit quite a few keys trying this out so I'm guessing no. This probably indicates I just need to improve my skill to learn how to work with this best.

At least up to Illustrator 13, there is a trick or rather a lousy hack that involves the Snap to Grid command and its talent to temporarily disable any Smart Guides functionality. The following has to be prepared in case you're going to execute the hack as an action:
1. In the Actions Palette, create a new Action set. Call it 'Disable Smart Guides'.
2. Within the Action set, create a new action. Call it 'Disable Smart Guides', assign an F-key to the action, let's say F3, and hit Enter.
3. In the Actions Palette menu, select the Insert Menu Item command and go to View > Snap to Grid
4. Stop recording the action
5. Go to Edit > Preferences > Guides & Grid
6. In the Gridline Every text box, enter 0,01 mm. It's the minimum value you can set here.
7. In the Subdivisions text box, enter 1000, the max. value accepted here.
Now, take any document, turn on Smart Guides, make sure Snap to Grid is turned off, and start drawing a path. Hit F3 and continue drawing the path. Hit F3 again as soon as you need your Smart Guides again.
As you can see, after hitting F3 to enable Snap to Grid, the path will not be interrupted when placing the next point. And as you've got a kind of microscopic Grid settings, Snap to Grid has almost no influence on where the points are placed. In fact, it still snaps, but due to the absurd Grid settings it's rather negligible.
This palpable workaround was originally invented by a young lady located around Edmonton in Canada.

But it seems to be rather obvious issue. '&' is not allowed char in URL (it is generic rule, nothing special for SPA502). Such special char needs to be escaped accordingly. So replace all occurrences of '&' by '&'. It should help.
By the way, it is mentioned in documentation.

• Ignore Mouse-Events while being in screensaver

Hi,
i am wondering if it is possible to "somehow" ignore Mouse-Input/Events while a screensaver (maybe a special one which offers that as option) is running.
So basically that you can stop the screensaver only using your keyboard.
Any idea is appreciated
Best regards
fidel

Why? Maybe so it doesn't kick out of the screen saver when the mouse gets bumped?
Anyway, you said any idea is appreciated, so the only way I can think of is if the screen saver is the Slideshow screen saver using iPhoto photos. Launch iPhoto, select an event and click on Slideshow. The photos will play like the Slideshow screen saver and moving the mouse will only bring up a small control window, which goes away in about a second after the mouse stops moving.
A low tech option would be to disconnect the mouse.

• Multicast paging over DMVPN over MPLS

We're using IPcelerate as our paging solution and have the need to extend the application across our MPLS/VPLS network. I'm looking for a configuration or, at the very least, some guidance to get this working across a DMVPN over said MPLS/VPLS.
Regards,
-Mike M.

Hi Michael
I have been in a similar situation before of having Paging to traverse over the WAN IP MPLS network with SingleWire Paging system. If we are talking about Audio paging, it is built on the IP multicast networking and thus to extend this service to remote offices connected through IP MPLS network, the Service provider should enable IP multicast over its VRFs for you. In my case it was not feasible by the Service provider(s). SingleWire introduced a solution of a Paging Gateway that is integrated with the paging server and it is located at the remote office. The Paging server sends the target audio mulitcast as a unicast session to the paging gateway in the remote office and then the paging gateway sends on the LAN as a multicast .
I am not sure if IPcelerate has a similar solution, but it is worth asking and validating.
Hope that helps

• How can I ignore multiple clicks while processing the first one?

Hi -
I am writing my first Flex program so I'm sorry if this is a newbie question.
I have some code which handles a click but takes a while to finish. What I want to do is proces steh first click but ignore any more clicks until the code has finished dealing with the first one.
Can anyone tell me the standard way to do this?
Here's a simplified example with a builtin delay. If I click on the button several times and then wait, the clicks are all processed in sequence and the test count slowly increases. What I want the code to do is ignore any clicks which teh user made during the two second delay but start handling new clicks after the delay has finished.
Example Code...
<
<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx">
<fx:Script>

private var count:Number = 0;
private function clickHandler():void {
// Something which takes a while to complete...
var timer:Date = new Date();
while( (new Date()).valueOf() - timer.valueOf() <  2000 ) {
var nop:int = 0;
// Report result
count++;
output.text="Test Number "+count;

</fx:Script>
<s:Panel title="Example">
<s:VGroup left="10" right="10" top="10" bottom="10">
<s:Label id="output" text=""/>
<s:Button label="Click Me" click="clickHandler();"/>
</s:VGroup>
</s:Panel>
</s:Application>
Thanks
- Jon

Thanks for the response Pramod. I tried to disable and enable the button but it doesn't seem to have any effect at all. If I click the button several times, this code still processs the clicks one at a time over the next few seconds. I am sure I am making a simple mistake somewhere here...
private function clickHandler():void {
mybutton.enabled = false;
...slow stuff here
mybutton.enabled = true;
Full code...
<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"      xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"      xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx">   <fx:Script>       private var count:Number = 0;  private function clickHandler():void {   mybutton.enabled = false;    // Something which takes a while to complete...   var timer:Date = new Date();   while( (new Date()).valueOf() - timer.valueOf() <  2000 ) {      var nop:int = 0;   }     // Report result   count++;   output.text="Test Number "+count;       mybutton.enabled=true;}     </fx:Script>     <s:Panel title="Example">      <s:VGroup left="10" right="10" top="10" bottom="10">         <s:Label id="output" text=""/>         <s:Button id="mybutton" label="Click Me" click="clickHandler();"/>      </s:VGroup>   </s:Panel>  </s:Application>

• How to Ignore the errors while exporting

Hi ,
i am trying to import a dump using imp command. Out of 10000 user objects, 5000 objects has got imported successfully. Meanwhile because of a LAN failure, import was not able to continue. And again i tried with import the same. System is trying to import each and every row in table, and the log file is populated with all unique constraint errors. Is there a way to suppress these errors or else the best way is to drop all objects and import again. This is my import command. Kindly advice me.
USERID=bditest/bditest@aspac
FILE=D:\dump112\first10022009.dmp
FROMUSER=BEIFLEX
TOUSER=bditest
LOG=D:\logbdi
IGNORE=Y
STATISTICS=NONE
compile=N
BUFFER=1000000

One of the options would be carry out a table level import (you could generate the list of tables from the dump file using SHOW & LOGFILE options).
Other one, as you have mentioned, would be to drop the associated schema (with CASCADE option)- with the assumption that these 5000 objects which were imported are the only objects in this schema - and then run the import again. Better to initiate the import from the server to avoid such problems :-)
And, please post the queries in appropriate sections. This forum deals with the issues related Oracle software downloads.

• How to do the paging while reading from the file !!!

I've able to display the contents of the file in my jsp as a tabular form. I want to apply the paging concept in my jsp page. As i did in my database project there i's sending the next value as a parameter and it works.
But when i retrieving the value from the file then i'm not able to get particular values anyhow i'm using the concepts of getLineNumber() but unable to get the previous one worked. I want to diplay only the first 20 contents of the file then, by clicking the next button he should be able to view the next 20 contents of the file. Please help me out for this problem. If possible send me the codes too it'll very helpful for me.
