Make sure that yor using g711u codec and try setting fax baud rate to 9600.
You may also want to follow this link for fax settings. Although it's referring to another model it's also applicable to your unit I guess:

  • SOLVED: SPA2102, WRP400, SPA8000, SRP521 and SRP521-U FAX NSE fails with empty Payload c0000000

    Hi Experts.
    In my SIP network there is a Cisco PGW 9.6(1) used as PSTN gateway. PGW call agent controls many Cisco AS5400 via MGCP. We use Linksys SPA2102 to connect fax and modem devices.
    Both PGW and AS5400 are configured to support FAX passthrough upspeeding via NSE event. Also SPA2102 devices are configured to support FAX passthrough NSE.
    After many tests and debugs I see that SPA2102 doesn't recognize NSE event sent from AS5400.
    From debug and wireshark traces you can see that AS5400 sends NSE 192 event correctly (see attachments).
    So I've try to compare this scenario with a working one. The only difference is in the Payload content of NSE messages.
    With AS5400 the Payload is c0000000. I think tath this is an empty payload while with different gateway or ATA the payload is c096c4e. In this last case SPA detects correctly NSE message.
    Is this a BUG of SPA2102?
    Thanks.

    Hi experts, I updated this post after several months because we need information about the status of this issue.
    Now we are using the firmware 2.00.21 for WRP400 (a beta) and the firmware 5.2.10 for SPA2102 devices.
    No news about next release of WRP400 and the last software for SPA 5.2.12 doesn't fix this issue.
    Now we must take a decision for buying thousand CPE for current year. If this issue will not fixed during this month we will be forced to change products and vendor !!!
    I hope in a your positive response.
    Regards.

  • Receiving fax trought spa 3102 asterisk 1.4 and spa2102

    I have some problem receiving fax from a pstn line trought spa3102 - asterisk and spa 2102. I have updated the firmware of the latest version for spa3102 and 2102 and I have setting the port of spa 2102 were is attached the fax machine as described in the CISCO Small Business Administration guide (page nr. 55 - using a fax machine) but i cannot receive fax at speed upper to 2400 b.
    My setup is:
    pstn line -> spa3102 - asterisk 1.4.29 -> spa2102.
    The spa3102 is configured to pass all control to asterisk. When a call is answered and it is a fax, this call is transferd by operator to the internall extension of spa2102 where is attached the fax machine.
    I don't know as configure the pstn port of spa3102 for fax receiving.
    Can you help me ?
    thank in adavnce.

    Thank you for your reply.
    Ok, I report my solution because I think that can be userfull for other users.
    I have resolved the problem in this manner:
    1) on the SPA 3102 I have set the PSTN Line, audio section:
    a) preferred codec G711u;
    b) use pref. codec: YES;
    c) silence supp. enable: NO;
    d) echo canc enable: YES;
    e) echo canc. adapt enable: YES;
    f) echo sup enable: NO;
    g) FAX CED Detect Enable: YES;
    h) FAX CNG Detect Enable: YES;
    i) FAX Passthru Codec: G711u;
    j) FAX Codec Symmetric: YES;
    k) FAX Passthru Method: reinvite;
    l) FAX Process NSE: YES;
    m) FAX Disable ECAN: no
    2) on the SPA 2102 on the line were is  attached the fax machine, audio section:
    I have followed the setup as described in the document that I have mentioned in my first message that is:
    a) Preferred Codec: G711u;
    b) Use Pref Codec Only: YES
    c) Silence Supp Enable: NO
    d) Echo Canc Enable: NO
    e) Echo Canc Adapt Enable: NO
    f) Echo Supp Enable: NO
    g) FAX CED Detect Enable:YES
    h) FAX CNG Detect Enable: YES
    i) FAX Passthru Codec: G711u
    j) FAX Codec Symmetric: YES
    k) FAX Passthru Method: reinvite
    l) FAX Process NSE: YES
    m) FAX Disable ECAN: NO
    n) FAX Enable T38: NO
    o) FAX Tone Detect Mode: caller or callee
    With this configuration I can receive and send fax to 14.400 on PSTN line acros the asterisk and the SPA 3102 / 2102 device.
    The phone attached on the line 1 port of the spa 3102 have not echo when answer or call on the PSTN line as the other phone that have access to PSTN Line.
    The phone of the fax macchine have echo, but usualy is not used as phone.

  • SPA2102 behind router fax problem

    I'm having problems with fax send/receive when SPA2102 is connected via D-link router. Faxes just cannot connect or recognize each-other. No any problems if connected directly to cable modem as a bridge. Voice function works fine no matter how it is connected. Is it fixable?

    Basically, this can't be done without the support of all the routers on the route (assuming you're talking about NAT routers): each router needs to forward a known port all the way from the "outside" to the inside.
    An alternative would be to use some sort of rendevous server that's on the "outside" for all participants.

  • Fax and Modem Over IP

    Is it successful and reliable to deploy the fax and modem over IP in production? Does it stable enough to replace the PSTN connection?
    Do delay and packet drops in the network affect so much for fax and modem traffic?
    How about to implement fax and modem over IP via microwave link?

    i have read in the article in the web. here is the link
    http://www.soft-switch.org/foip.html
    1) Can you comment about implementing POS modem over IP is not reliable and workable.
    2) What the fine tune need to do most to successfully deploy the POS over IP?
    3) We had using Linksys SPA2102 ATA for the POS machine to be connected to the CUCM. Is it recommended brand ATA for impementing the POS?
    4) What is your experience implementing the POS modem? To CUCM or any Media gateway or IP PABX?

  • SRP527W-U trouble sending fax

    hi,
    we have problem sending faxes with router SRP527W-U firmware 1.2.4 (003).
    We found a strange behavior of the router when the  destination media gateway send two closer reinvite packets with two different media ports.
    To be more clear I am going to make an example:
    The srp527W-U start the sip dialog with the destination media gateway. The media gateway send  the first reinvite which is telling to the sr527w-u that its media port will be the 15868 port udp. The srp527w-u answer  with a 200 ok packet.
    After the first 200 ok packet the destination  media gateway decide to change it's media port and send another reinvite  telling to the srp527-w-u that it will change its media port to 15870.
    Srp527w-u  answer with another 200 ok packet but it doesn't change the destination  media port and the fax fail after some seconds (about 30 seconds).
    After the second 200 ok the srp527w-u should change the destination port and start to send DCS (T.38) packet to the destination media gateway but instead start to send packet to the old media port so that's why the fax at the end fail.
    We don't have problem sending faxes with SPA2102 firmware 5.2.12 using the same destination media gateway.
    We have applied the same configuration of the SRP527W-U to the SPA2102 but with SPA2102 everything it's working fine.
    I have done a couple of trace where it is possible to see what i am telling you (if someone of cisco need this traces i can send it via private message).
    I hope that someone of the support staff can troubleshoot this behavior.
    thanks in advance for your answer.

    here the trace i have done in LAB:

  • Fax function of HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575

    Hi,
    I am one of users of HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575.
    I would like to know can I set the printer do not print my fax number and fax header on paper when I fax my document to others.
    I had login as admin but I did not see where I can config it.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Jimmy Pun

    There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
    Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
    HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • HP LaserJet Pro C1415fn color MFP - fax won't work

    I have a LaserJet Pro CM1415fn color MFP on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop. I've been using the printer for two years now.
    At the moment the fax function only works if I use it manually (i.e. if I place a sheet of paper on the scanner, select the "Fax" button on the printer touch pad and dial the number). However, if I want to send a fax via the PC interface, it won't work.
    For example, if I open a PDF, click on "Print" and select "HP LaserJet Professional CM 1410 Series Fax", nothing happens -- no window/interface will open. If I select "HP Send Fax" or "HP Fax Setup Wizard" from the program menu, nothing happens.
    I've always been sending faxes this way and I just don't know what happened... Can anyone please help?
    Thanks in advance!
    Claudia

    Hi @Clabee ,
    I see that you can't fax from the PC anymore. I can help you with this.
    If this just recently happened, I would do a System Restore back to when everything was working properly.
    System Restore for Windows 7.
    If you would prefer not to do the System Restore, uninstall and reinstall the printer software. It might become corrupted.
    Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer or the CD.
    To uninstall from program files:
    Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window.
    Select the C drive.
    Select program files or program files x86.
    Open the HP and printer name folder.
    Select uninstall.
    Uninstall the software from the CD:
    Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
    Disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software. How to use MSCONFIG .
    Click on the start up tab and click disable all.
    Download, save and install the latest drivers.
    HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printer Drivers.
    Test the printer and try sending a fax again from the PC.
    Then you will need to go back in and enable the start up programs and turn the Antivirus Software back on again.
    If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Thank You.

    My 1536dnf was previously receiving faxes to my Toshiba laptop. A message box would appear on screen informing me when faxes were received. I used to be able to open the HP ToolBoxFX where a list of faxes received would appear in the received faxes log screen - AND A CLICK ON "VIEW" LINK would be displayed; I'd click on "VIEW" and the fax would apear as a PDF doc.
    HOWEVER, for some reason the VIEW link no longer appears in the received faxes log; there is nothing to click on to view the fax, and hence I CANNOT VIEW RECEIVED FAXES anymore.
    In the received faxes log screen it still displaces the date/time, number of pages, and from whom the fax is received, I am just not able to view the (apparently) received fax. If I knew what folder on my PC the faxes were stored I would go there to pull up the PDF docs, but I cannot find where this data is stored.
    I've also noticed thatI have April 2014 firmware and the latest firmware update is dated August 2014, but after multiple attempts the latest firmware update will not install. It downloads, appears to install, but the config report indicates the newest firmware is NOT installed.
    The LJ  1536dnf remains in my local network via eathernet cable, and the printer and scanner components of the MFP function normally. The fax component manually sends faxes and can receive and print faxes in hard copy form.
    **PLEASE SOMEONE HELP**  Thank you in advance.

    Hi @SimonSpeak ,
    I see that you are having issues opening the faxes from the Toolbox. I will be happy to help you.
    Restart the computer.
    Temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software, just to rule out any interference.
    Try opening the Toolbox Software again.
    Make sure Adobe Flash is up to date. I believe it piggy banks the HP Toolbox Software.
    You can always restore your computer back to a earlier time when everything was working properly. It might have been a update that caused this issue, since uninstalling and reinstalling the software isn't allowing the software to work either. How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC on Windows 8.
    Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
    What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
    Try updating the printer's firmware by a USB connection. HP LaserJet Firmware Update Utility.
    If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a great day!

  • Color LaserJet MFP M476nw Fax Test failed

    I bought a new LaserJet M476nw, but my fax test fails everytime through the laserjet setup and HP utilities software.  The Laserjet is connected on a network and using Vista.
    I have a dedicated fax line connected from the jack to the icon with the jack on the back of the laserjet.   I can hear dial tone on the fax line when connected to a phone.   I have called the fax line and it is rings normally and no answer.   I also tried connecting a phone to the laserjet phone icon, while the fax line is connected to the laserJet, I can hear the dial tone from the phone.
    I do not know what else I should do to get the fax test to pass, so I can start faxing on this new machine.  Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw fax to pc

    I have just bought this printer and want to msend faxes to my pc.  I was told by PC world that it had this function.  So far I cant find it can anyone help.  Many thanks

    Hi ,  I would be happy to help shed some light on the issue your are having with trying to setup this Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw to receive your faxes on your PC.  I have looked into this further for you, and I'm pretty sure this model doesn't support receiving faxes on your PC. You can double check to make sure I haven't missed it in the  COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177 User Guide.
    I did however locate a different model, where in the manual does provide instructions on how to set this feature up but it is a black only printer. Its the LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw (again black only, no colour.)
    Step 5 (Optional): Configure settings for receiving digital faxes (Windows) The product can save incoming digital faxes to a computer folder. Use the HP Digital Fax Setup Wizard to configure the settings. This feature is available only for Windows. 1. Click Start, and then click Programs. 2. Click HP, click the name of the product, and then click Digital Fax Setup Wizard. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the settings.  HP also has this feature available on it's HP Officejet Pro 8610/8620/8630 e-All-in-One Printers, which are Colour Inkjets. Some of the commerical products also support this feature but I'm unsure of which ones. I would really suggest contacting HP Shopping for more information on these models.  Hopefully this has answered your questions, and please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.   Thanks,

  • HP Laserjet PRO 200 - Colour MFP M276n | Forward Fax to Email

    Hi!
    I can't understand why it isn't possibile to forward a fax to a list of email address instead of print them (or forward the fax to another number), it could really save a lot of paper, also because the printer can already send a scan to an email address.
    Am I missing some some option in the control panel or am I really supposed to
    print a fax and then scan it?
    If this function is not available are you going to implement it in the next firmware update? I think it would be really appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi FrancescoPromo,
    Welcome to the HP Forums, I hopeyou enjoy your experience!
    I see from your post that you would like to know if you can forward a fax to email, if there are any updates for this available.
    I will be happy to help you.
    You can send and receive faxes from the computer software. You can fax single or multiple faxes at a time.
    There is no option available for sending faxes through emails.
    I have provided the manual with information for faxing. Pages 97 and 103 provide this process.
    LASERJET PRO 200 COLOR MFP.
    These are the available features for this model through the control panel.
    Scan to USB Drive.
    Scan to Network Folder.
    Scan to E-mail.
    Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
