Space bar changes cursor position

I am having this strange problem typing. Some times when I press the spacebar the cursor will just jump oddly to a different part of the document or webpage. At first i thought my hand must be accidentally touching the track pad right below the keyboard (have the track pad set to touch sensitive mouse clicking), buts not that even when I am ultra sure I don't accidentally touch the trackpad it still does it... I believe it has been happening since the last OS update..
When you are on a webpage in safari spacebar will page down for you but it is doing this sometimes while im typing.

And, if that doesn't work, then I suggest taking in your machine to the nearest Apple Store as something may be malfunctioning subconsciously within your MBP.

I can edit on Premiere Pro 6 files, but after a dozen keystrokes, the space bar and cursor keys stop working while the save function, render workspace function, export file are still operational. How can I fix it so I may complete my assignment?
Besides DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite 6 is the only software on the machine. I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Operating System on AMD FX 6100 six-Core Processor at 3.31gHz and 32 GB RAM memory. There are two SLI-bridged GTX680 NVidia cards.
The software was very stable for the last six months, working with 720P proxy files from 2.5K masters (Blackmagic Design Camera). I am working on a feature-length project that exceeds 1000 edits. I have broken the file into 2 one hour segments.
I have deactivated the software before reinstalling the entire OS from scratch. PP6 was very stable for 48 hours. Then the freezing space bar returns. After a dozen strokes into the project, same problem. I have made cache files store next to originals, I have deleted preview files if they were corrupted and causing instability. Am I missing something?
I have Microsoft Security Essentials for virus protection. I double checked the memory for damage/defect. Nothing says that the motherboard or other components are damaged.
I am in film competition overseas and need to have deliverables in less than a month's time. I lost the last two weeks troubleshooting and this crisis came at an inopportune moment of the project.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Still getting software freezes but found a way to mitigate for the mean time.
Upon launching Adobe Premiere Pro, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to launch TaskManager as well.
You will want to highlight Adobe QT32 Server.exe
Right click and select "End Process Tree"
You will get considerable stability in the program, long enough to get timing of cuts done. Be sure to save often.
If the program freezes, do not hit Save. You definitely want to avoid saving the corruption into your TimeLine
CTRL-ALT-DEL to relaunch the TaskManager and highlight Adobe Premiere Pro.exe
Right-click to "End Process"
No need to reboot the whole system; just launch Premiere Pro again and continue with the session. Note that your work reverted to Last Save.
Hope this helps until the bug is fixed.

Mail 2.0 Problems Reply doesn't work, hitting space bar takes cursor away,

Just upgraded to Tiger today, boy I wished I hadn't! Major mail problems. The 'Reply' only works when it feels like.
Also, I am not able to type in the main body of the message. Typing is intermittent - it allows me to type a few characters, but as soon as you hit the space bar, the cursor disappears. You then have to click back in the main body of the message to make the cursor reappear again.
I've tried removing the plist and Mail folder but doesn't help. Any suggestions?

This particular problem in Mail is usually caused by some LaunchServices cache corruption. The following article describes how to manually reset LaunchServices. The notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved.

It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner.
In addition to the utilities mentioned above, you may also consider OnyX, if for no other reason, because it's free. If you want to try OnyX, after installing it, do this (be sure to read the articles about the side effects of cache cleaning first):
1. Quit all applications.
2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
3. Click Maintenance. In the Reset section, check LaunchServices database.
4. You may uncheck any other pre-checked options if you've already done them using other utilities.
5. Click the Execute button.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you may try again checking the Links between documents and applications option in step 3 instead.
Please let me know whether you were able to solve the problem, what worked for you and what didn't.

Change cursor position?

I have just completed creating 3 forms with 60+ text fields each with Acrobat X. To my dismay, I've discovered that when one types in the text field, the text appears in the middle (left justified) of the text box instead of at the top.
How can I fix this/set the cursor position?

You need to change the text field(s) to multi-line text fields. This is found within the text field properties dialog in the options tab.

ResultSet changes lost after changing cursor position

Hi -
The rowUpdated method seems to always return false
even after applying valid updates to a resultset object.
The database row can be updated with the changes immediately
but if i don't update before moving to a different row in the cursor
the changes to that row in the resultset are lost when i attempt to
retrieve them at a later time

Hi,
The rowUpdated method only returns true if the line was updated and the driver supports this feature. To find out if it does, call DatabaseMetaData.updatesAreDetected(int type). If it doesn't then that is your answer.
If you don't update a row before moving to another one it's somewhat obvious that the driver won't keep track of your changes (imagine what would happen if you do this for ecery row in a huge result set). The idea is to update the database. Otherwise they are lost. So just update the row if you want to, or do not make any changes to the columns if you don't.

You still haven't explained what a text box is.
Repeating what you've already said in "BOLD" text doesn't make the question any clearer.
What does the changing cursor position have to do with anything. I can use the arrow keys to move the cursor without changing the text.

Space bar & cursor problem

When typing, if I hit the space bar, it sometimes moves the cursor back a space - seems to mainly happen with "e" so for example, I type "I've" and hit space bar, & I end up with the cursor between the "I'v" and the "e".

Hmmm…have you tried using Disk Utility to Repair Permissions, then testing Safari for that issue?
Were you aware that you can change the default search engine in Inquisitor to the German version of Google? Also, I don't understand how you could have installed Safari from the Apple download, since it won't work, no matter what you do. The installer will refuse to install it, per Apple's intent.
Try my suggestion, then put those Input Managers back and test Safari. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then quit Safari, and try deleting the Cache from Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari, then restart Safari again to see if the problem still persists.

Command Spacebar opens Spotlight as you have found out. If you want to change languages you need to say what app you are using to write the story in, I'm guessing you are using Pages or MS Word. If that's the case
Pages: Open Inspector - Click the T tab - Click Language and change your language.
MS Word: Tools Menu - Language - Choose your language.

Select the Zoom Tool in the tool box and see if Scrubby Zoom is unchecked or greyed out in the tool options bar.

Can I change the position of change bars from left margin to right margin?

The global properties for Change bars are found in the Format > Document > Change Bars... menu option (or <esc> o b keyboard shortcut).
The property that you need to change is Position:
Depending upon which of the right or left margins is larger, you'll need to set this to "Side Closer to Page Edge" or "Side Farther..." to position the bars to the outside edges of the respective pages. If you have a symmetric layout, then "Closer" places on the left side (of all pages) and "Farther" places on the right.
However, if you have multiple columns, the change bars will appear between the columns and will shift depending upon which page edge is closer, i.e. the middle columns may be left or right on any given page.

Is it possible to change the cursor position automatically when changing the language?
For example: when changing from English to Hebrew the cursor will move from the right end to the left?

I don't think this is possible in general, although some individual apps might do it. Normally you use a direction control from an app menu or at the system level.

When I change the position of the bookmarks button it always jumps to the same position (in the bookmarks bar). How can I make it stay where I want it to?

When I try to change to position of the symbol for the bookmarks it doesn't matter where I put it, always when I click on "Finish" the button jumps back in the middle of the bookmarks bar, right of the bookmarks and left of two addons (FoxyTunes and Forecastfox).

Sorry, that specific Bookmarks button ''(with the drop-marker down arrow or '''bookmarks''' word)'' is tied to the Bookmarks Toolbar when it is shown, and only appears when the Menu bar is hidden and the Firefox button is showing. It is not a "regular" toolbar button.
There is the original Bookmarks button, in the Customize Palette, which toggles the Bookmarks Sidebar view. It will stay where you put it on the Toolbars.

Japanese input changing to English after space-bar

I think I have found a bug with the Japanese (Hiragana) input.
I installed 10.2.1 and it worked fine for a day, and I was successfully sending messages in Hiragana. Now, when I press the space bar, the Hiragana on screen changes to English (or Romaji). So I can no longer type messages in Japanese.
I have not changed any keyboard setting, and 'Auto-correct with space-bar' is off. THe Hiragana appears underlined, as though auto-correct was still on.

Really is bugged? I am waiting the update so much, since I need to write in Japanese with my Z10

Space bar won't change into hand tool while pressing

Today, I was suprprise to find out the space bar in my computer white trying to move my image to centain section.
It is a very very handy and timesaving shortcut. does anyone know anyrhing or have the same issue, using Illustrator CC/16?
For instance I came to think is my keyboard but I checked with older software and it's working file.
I appreciate any imput.

Spacebar as hand tool is restored!! I think Dave was right about something interfering with it. The only thing that i changed on my system before this happened was that I unlocked my login in keychain access. Once I went back to keychain access and locked login again, did a restart and opened photoshop, the spacebar as hand tool was restored! So if anyone else has this problem, think back to what you did last on your system and revert to how it originally was. Hope this helps somebody out there

Strange space bar behaviour on T410s keyboard (makes space + cursor right)

I have just got in a T410s to my office which has a very quirky behaviour when hitting the space bar. It makes the space AND a cursor right. It happens in every application. The laptop is running Win 7 64-bit Enterprise.
But, here comes the quirky thing; It doesn't happen if I plug in an external keyboard. AND I have also tried replacing the keyboard unit itself with a brand new CRU, so it can't be a problem with the keyboard itself (except maybe the controller if it's down on the motherboard).
So, it feels likely it has to be a utility or a setting which the user has enabled by mistake, or possibly a driver error for the internal keyboard.
Any clues on what could be the cause?
