Space bar not spacing correctly

Please help. My space bar is only working on the left/middle.
Is there some way to adjust this? When I hit it on the right side, the cursor
is sometimes affected.

if it happens with mine as well maybe it's like that with all of them, just have to adapt your typing style i guess, like with caps lock

Space bar not always spacing

Recently all of a sudden the space bar decides that it needs me to slap it twice as hard as I used to in order to get it to have it to space.
Is this a common problem of some Power/MacBooks? I have the first revision of MacBook Pros.
Kinda disappointed - had it repaired twice for heat, whining issues, motherboard problems and now it has this space bar problem and also a really loud optical drive (it clicks a lot when it loads) that they put in when my old one couldn't burn DVD+Rs.
Any similar experiences? This is starting to get on my nerves as I need my laptop frequently for school and I need to code! (Computer Engineer here).
I really should have gotten a regular old notebook - I bought a MBP for OS X but now I guess I could have put up with XP (I have a Windows desktop, advid gamer).

I also have a first generation MBP which I now use as a hot plate. It gets so insanely hot my wife burnt her fingertip on the strip just above the function keys.
Apple replaced the logic board but it still gets hot - Apple states its well within specifications. Huge loads of polka-dotted poppy-**** there.
Apple won't do a thing, although one of the "product specialists" told me to sell the MBP on eBay then buy another laptop. Moron.
Now the MBP is too hot so it doesn't work all the time. I can no longer take it anywhere, because it gets to hot. I can't keep any data on it. The optical drive no longer works, the airport is spotty at best.
Apple still won't do a thing. Unless, of course, I buy another laptop. At $2500 USD ... they should hope I don't speak badly about them.

Responsive nav bar not working correctly

The responsive nab bar on the site below is working correctly. When it changes from horizontal buttons to vertical, the sub menu buttons do not display correctly and i cannot work out how to correct it, they should display underneath the menu button when clicked on but they don't?

The below css is all you should need for your media queries. I would think about using some jQuery onClick to show those sub menus as it's way to jumpy.

After sec. update 2008-007, Spaces does not function correctly

I installed the 2008-007 Security Update last night, and after restarting, I have found that spaces won't work correctly.
I have different apps set to different spaces, such as iTunes in 4 and safari in 2. If I'm in Safari, and use command-tab to switch to iTunes, the menu bar changes, and the keystrokes behave as if I'm in iTunes, but the screen won't change to that space; I have to do that manually (ctrl-arrow or hot corner).
Is this happening with anybody else out there?

There's more than one type of reset ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

Space Bar not responding during editting

Under normal circumstances when editting in the timeline, my reporters use the spacebar to play and pause/stop the timeline. There has been some issues of late where the space bar seems to not be working, and requires two or three pushes before it plays or pauses the video in the timeline. The video being rendered does not affect it one way or the other, and it is not constant. It can happen at any time, and often doesn't affect a reporter, or will affect a reporter non-stop (both occured today). For the record, yes I have checked the keyboard and it is not the problem. The spacebar works fine for normal use, its just PPro that has the problem.
Specs: I have four identical edit bays. Each has a Dual Core 2.5 Ghz Pentium processor, 3.0 gbs of ram, a single sata drive split into two partitions (system 30 gb and video 470 gb). I am running up to date PPro 5.0.2, freshly installed on virgin drives. I have two of the bays with the most up to date 64 bit manufacturer video and audio drivers, and two bays with Windows 7 automatically installed video and audio drivers. The problem is the same in all four bays.

Your problem is that your systems are below minimum requirements, with some serious setup faults.
This is harsh:
1. A single disk is below minimum requirements. You need at least two physical 7200 RPM SATA disks
2. Never partition a disk. It will only increase wear and tear and slow down performance.
3. You likely never tuned your system. Look here: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista... This also applies to Win7.
4. Your dual core CPU is absolutely bare minimum for DV material, but anything more will grind to a halt.
5. 3 GB RAM is not enough.
You are in for a serious upgrade of your systems.
First Harm, I do want to say thank you and that I realize you are trying to help. But, budget is a major issue, and the likelyhood of upgrading soon is non-existant. So what can we do to work within the specs I have? I had not done all of the steps in the tune up, but yes most of them I had, specifically I had not installed Ccleaner, and I had not turned off all of the windows add ons as yet - both will be fixed soon. Our editting needs are pretty minimal to be honest, which is part of why its so frustrating that PPro is being so cantankerous. Cut in and out of five or ten clips, add in a voice over track, and once in a great while a cross fade between two clips or fade out audio (using the pen tool), export to mpeg, and we're done. Our longest package is 4 minutes and that's most of a news block (segment between commercials - we have a 30 minutes news show, so you can imagine most are in the 1:30 to 2 minute range).

Someone is sure to comment on that. I wanted to jump in first and say that while the idea of using a single partitioned hard drive isn't a good one, doing so is highly unlikely to be the cause of this particular issue.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I knew about someone would say something eventually, but given that it works most of the time, and only freezes up occasionally, like you I find it unlikely that this is the issue. I'm not saying it won't contribute to it (I know it can). The sad part of all this is I can't get it to replicate the space bar freeze up for me, and while I experience it when I go into the bays for the reporters, I have no idea what they have done up until that point in order to troubleshoot what they are doing wrong. I can and have run an install at the same time as editting video and not had a single slow down whatsoever, while several reporters have issues running PPro and notepad. One is running her yahoo mail in IE, and I think that is one of the problems she runs into (given how resource hoggy IE can be - especially on yahoo's webmail interface), but that's one person, not all of them.

Space bar not the same

I'm just curious, is anyone else's 15" MBP's space bar "press" differently than the other keys? All the other keys are real quiet, but when I hit the space bar it lets out a much louder pressed noise. This is really annoying when you're typing a long sentence. Is this something that Apple just dropped the ball on, or is there something wrong with my specific keyboard?

on mine it may sound just a little bit different, since it's the largest key on the keyboard.
and I use the moshi clearguard keyboard protector which also reduce the sound of typing.
and I'm not a very fast typer just average so I don't press that hard on the keys.
I don't think yours should be any different.

Gt-60 space bar not working

I have had a gt60 for almost 2 years now, so it is definitely not under warranty anymore. And recently, an issue came up. When I login to windows 7, right when the login screen appears, the spacebar is continually entering, like it is being held down. I press any key and it stops. From that moment on, the space bar does not work. Then if I press "zx", the spacebar acts as if it has been held down again. it is very strange. I tried the keyboard under Linux, and the spacebar does not work. I think its a hardware issue, but I am not sure. Any advice, or anyone experience a similar problem?

Yes i have a similar problem but it is my tab key.
It started a few months ago and went away and recently made an unfortunate return yesterday.
My problem is that when my laptop is turned on the tab key is always "pressed", however when i used to press it it would stop and start again in a few seconds.
This time around after i press it, it instantly goes back to the always pressed state.
(I should also mention i think pressing caps lock also stops it briefly (<1 second) and it starts again.)
However, after about 5 to 10 minutes of trying to use my laptop the problem goes away and i can use the tab key as normal.
(By trying to use i mean using it while pressing tab to get it to stop for 1 second to click or do something.)
Did you solve your problem? Let me know please!
Or i might have to disable the laptop keyboard and buy an external one :(.

FCP7 space bar not working properly...

Hello everybody...
I am having a litlle trouble that lately is becoming a real pain. For some reason when I turn on my mac and start FCP, the space bar when pressed does not work anymore as the "play" button...So I have to close the program, reboot the computer... Sometimes even 3 or 4 times until it works...
Is there a solution for that? Please help......

Space bar not working to move the document

I am having issues with shift-constrain resizing not working, and option-drag duplication not working, also using the space bar to move the document around the viewport. OSX 10.10, InDesign CC. I reset the preferences, restarted which failed to solve the problem, anyone knows how to make it work? Thanks!

I'd just like to add, since updating a couple of Mac Pro clients, running Mavericks 10.9.2 and Photoshop CC with the latest 6.3.8-2 Wacom Driver, early signs are that users have noted an improvement in performance of Photoshop CC.
Its quite early days yet, however shortcuts that had been slow to respond and we have had multiple app crashes in Photoshop CC when using multi-layed 16-Bit Tiffs, seem to be ironed out.
Also we have had to use the whitewindow plugin for photoshop too.
Sorry to crash in on an InDesign thread regarding Photoshop CC issues, however I have seen a lot of common ground for many folks issues with Adobe software being they are using a Wacom device of some sort.
Would be good to know if others have noted any improvements with this driver?

Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Punctuation bar not working correctly

Just updated my S3 to 4.1.2 and noticed that when texting or emailing the punctuation bar doesn't show up after you hit the space bar. I have to hit backspace then hit the space bar again for the punctuation bar to show up.
I went into the keyboard settings and turned off the predictive text and unchecked Personalized data but no luck. Any one else having this issue?

Me too. Every time there's an upgrade they take away features I like. There used to be options under Predictive Text that let you personalize some of this, but now the only options are "personalized data" on/off and learning from different accounts. So for it seems like a downgrade, not an upgrade.

Navigation bar not displaying correctly in IE6

I'm having trouble getting my navigation bar to display correctly in IE6!!! I've tried using the zoom: 1 IECC for #header, #header li a etc but can't seem to get it to display in the correct place. I'm fairly new to CSS (that's probably obvious!) and have been working through a tutorial to get this far but unfortunately the design you want never quite matches the tutorial!

Oops sorry, I've used them before and forgot they did that soon after a site was set-up! My other site is hosted by them with no problem.

Url bar not displaying correctly on forwarded domain

I found a problem.... on domain forwarded site - the right side of the url does not update correctly...
the REAL site is:
mysite.com - but we use a 2nd domain - mysite2.com that uses forwarding (w masking) to the 1st - mysite.com (so they are both the same real pages)
(the owner wants it this way)
NO PROBLEM when I use = mysite.com
mysite.com/dir1/dir2/index.php = ALL GOOD - urls display correctly...
but this problem appears when I use mysite2.com (forwarding)
mysite2.com/dir1/dir2/index.php - does NOT UPDATE CORRECTLY
pages go the the right place - but url stays here (last place typed) - mysite2.com/dir1/dir2/index.php
Q: any way to fix the 2nd forwarded domain with a master bit of code of something?

Space bar not showing safari

I just got a new ipod touch and can not find spacebar in safari. But when I type in google with in safari the spacebar pops up? I do not understand?

The left-hand box in Safari is for the URL - the web site address, and (as far as I know), there are no web site addresses with spaces in them. Therefore the spacebar is not required, but when typing into the search box (the right-hand box with Google in light grey) you do need the spacebar. So it's being clever, only giving you the symbols needed at that time.
Notice that the spacebar (which therefore is not required) is replaced by the dot, the slash and the com, all of which you need when typing in a web site address. This saves you having to change to "numbers" keys for the two most common symbols for web addresses and saves you having to type com every time. (Not much help to us here in the UK )
Are you someone who types their searches into the left box (the URL box) on your computer? If so, you'll just have to get used to not using the left box on the Touch. Remember, the iPod has fewer resources than a computer so the designers are using those resources wisely. Perhaps this is how it should be done on a computer. Now there's an idea!
You're probably going to suggest that one day there will be web site addresses with spaces in them. I suspect not - computer programmes (word processing, web pages/html etc.) recognise web site addresses by the dot and com (or .co.uk here in UK and .no for Norway etc.) and then recognise the end of a web address by the space. Anything after a space is not part of an address.

Keyboard space bar not working

totally novice and new to mac here,my keyboard space bar working fine.. but with in an time span of 3 hrs something went wrong and now whenever i press it it gives thet error sound.But it works normal when i keep the shift key pressed.
so far which i can recollect the settings i have working before this event is:
1)enabled fast user switching.
2) changed the computer name
3) installed transmission and was dowloading 2 files
4) installled sun download manager and downloading solaris
5) enabled "announce the time" in clock preferences
my keyboard firmware update is uptodate
EFI firmware is 1.1 and up to date
thts all...
can anyone help?

Toshiba portege z935-p300 Space bar not working

Hello everyone,
New to this forum but I'm hoping you can help me out. So I have a client that recently spilled liquid on her keyboard (toshiba portege z935-p300) and the space bar button stopped working. I havent cleaned under the button yet but obviously I'll do that first.
Typically when this occured I'd just go online and buy the entire keyboard tray and normally the issue is fixed. Well this specific keyboard I cannot find anywhere.
So the questions are does anyone know where I could find one of these keyboards? I found a site that sells the buttons for the keyboard which is what I'll be trying if I cant find the entire assembly.
