Space bar temporary move not working

I am running the latest PhotoshopCC 14.1.2 on my macbook pro. Recently the feature where the pressing and holding the space bar does not change my current tool ( clone or paint brush ) into the hand tool temporarily so I can move about my document. I have tried relaunching Photoshop, relaunching and trashing the settings file and completely shutting down my mac and restarting.Do have any idea if I have done something to cause this behavior and what I can do to remedy it?

I just checked out the Space Bar = Hand Tool and it works with any tool selected. But it won't move the the image unless the image is zoomed into a magnification that is larger than the screen's viewing area. Normal for that feature. I have never seen that the Hand Move Tool never comes up in any situation on PC or Mac and any OS version when pressing the Space Bar.
I am on a MAC Mini with Mavericks 10.9.4 and btw: Photoshop CC (2014.2.1)
Connect a USB external keyboard to the USB port and see if the Space Bar brings up a Hand and works correctly.
If it does, your MacBook Keyboard Space Bar is suspect or your System Preferences has a problem with Keyboard or Trackpad or both.

Have yo tried the standard fixes:
- reseting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod via iTunes

I have just got a Laptop with windows 8, and put my Photoshop CS5 on, so far eveything works appart from the space bar hand tool, which I use a lot.
Its not working in RAW either.

I was also having this problem but I have found the soloution! It took me a very long time to figure it out but I finally have. I also have windows 8 and I have updated to windows 8.1 . As soon as I did that update I had to "re-install" my touchpad synaptics driver... I thought little of this. It just hit me aobut a week ago why the spacebar hand tool shortcut wasn't working. I have a Acer laptop, 64Bit, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, and running Windows 8.1.
So, the that the spacebar is not working IS because the driver that is installed for your touchpad or trakpad is disabling some features for use of the spacebar and your finger movemnet on the trackpad at the same time. Sadly, there is no way to fix this problem YET. But, if you use a mouse or a graphics tablet you will be able to get this feature back!
I hope you understand the problem now. The only way to ix this is by notifying Synaptics about this issue and the next updated driver will have this issue fixed!

Space Bar + Tab Key not working

The space bar and tab key on my Macbook stopped working last night approximately 11:30pm. Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? I tried using disc utility but it didn't work.

If there is no soulution in the article, try the genius bar if it's under warranty or an authorized repair location can probably give you a quote if it's not. You could even try an external keyboard.

Space Bar hot key not working after recent Indesign update

Hi all
I just did the most recent update (3-31-14) and now the space bar hot key isn't working, nor is the hot key for duplication (option). So, uh, anyone else notice this, and if so, Adobe, you gonna fix this in the update? These two functions missing are messing with my work flow.

Try restoring your InDesign preferences. Here's how:
Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences
You're assuming that it's an InDesign bug that you lost your shortcuts. That is almost always a local computer glitch. None of the rest of us have that problem, we would be flooded with reports if that is true.

How do i get a fullstop when texting. I try to double click the space bar but its not working.

The fullstop was working when i first got the phone but now its not. I am new to the i phone and not sure what i am doing. Its the i phone 4s.
Also i dont know how to get the menu up while i am on the phone talking. For example if the company i am ringing requires me to press 1 for connection i cant get to the screen with the numbers. Hope this makes sense.

Check Settings>General>Keyboard and make sure that "." Shortcut is set to On.
When you are on a call, you should see a panel of six icons. The dial pad is the middle one on the top.

Bug is where the Hand move (by holding down Space bar and dragging) stops working. Issue appears to be a conflict with web browsers.
This bug is still present in Photoshop version 12.1 (CS 5). I've just experienced it for the first time. I don't use Firefox, I use Safari and Chrome. Quitting Safari did not fix the problem. Quitting Chrome DID fix the problem.
Developers, please can you fix in next version, and Chris Cox, this IS a bug with Photoshop.

Space Bar Hand Move & CMD-Space Zoom Not Working-CS5

Today, all of a sudden, two of my most used functions—holding down the space bar to move the image around and holding down CMD-space bar to zoom—just up and quit on me (I do like the "Scrubby" but it took a little getting used to. It's very touch screen-esque).
I did all of the normal trouble shooting such as deleting the prefs, relaunching, restarting, etc. Nothing. The functions work fine in the other CS5 programs.
Anybody else come across this? I checked through all of the prefs thinking that perhaps I accidentally changed something but I couldn't find anything. If all else fails, I'll do an uninstall/reinstall but only as a last resort.
I did notice that Adobe finally fixed the Distort (in Full Screen Mode) bug that was killing me in CS4.

I don't believe it but I think that I finally found the culprit: hulu (the desktop app, not through a browser).
To make sure, I rebooted, launched PS, Flash, and InDesign, and then fired up every app that I could think of, one by one, testing each time, leaving hulu for last. Sure enough, it was not until I got to hulu that the space bar hand/zpom stopped working. And then I went one by one, quitting each app, testing each time, again leaving hulu till the last. Sure enough again, the space bar continued not working until I quit hulu, the very last app that I had running (aside from CS5 and system processes).
Please, please do not tell me that there is a conflict between CS5 and hulu's utilization of Flash! That would just make Mad Dog Jobs' a happy camper. (I am a big supporter of Flash on the iPad).
What a relief. Except how am I now going to watch my TV shows while working???
In regards to browser conflicts, I have had none with Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.
Adobe, I hope that this information helps. Let me know if you need any info screen capped.

Scroll bar on editor not working

I recently upgraded to phtoshop elments 11.0 to 13.0
In the editor mode I cannot use the scroll bar. The scroll bar works fine in the orgnizaer mode. I have tried three different mouses and there is no difference.

I am using Windows 7 Professional
In the organizer portion the scroll bar moves. When I put my mouse or
arrow on the scroll bar and drag it then of course I move through the different
rows of folders or rows of pictures once in the photo bin.
It was doing it with Photoshop Elements 11.0 and I thought 13.0 might fix
the problem and the scroll bar did move on the first try but not since then.
When I try and load the photo bin and I am choosing the right folder to
load the scroll bar just does not move. I can select the right folder by
using my up and down arrow or the page up and down and then click on the right
folder and then it loads.
Once I get the right folder of pictures loaded and once I finish the first
row of pictures I cannot use my mouse and arrow to drag the scroll bar
down to get to the next row of pictures. I can place my arrow on my mouse
below the scroll bar and got to the next row but I usually get only half the
picture and sometimes only 1/4 of it but I can usually get it loaded up and
edit the pictures and move on the next picture but it is very slow and
frustrating.
Any help would be appreciated.
I protested to an adobe supervisor and I got an e-mail and somebody is
supposed to call me tomorrow so hopefully then can log on to my computer and
see what I am talking about.
Sound like something got corruped in the editor mode only. I tried 3
different mouses and even the computer mouse and no difference.

In Safari I get this error message: Safari can't open "aam://SAP...[link of the download]" because OS X doesn't recognize internet address starting with "aam:". I thought it was a browser issue (I can't click the download button in Chrome) so downloaded FireFox but it also gives me an error message saying: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address because one of the following protocols (aam) isn't connected to any program or allowed in this context.
I don't have Creative Cloud Membership, I received a CD with Photoshop Lightroom 5 with my new camera from Samsung. Because my MacBook Air doesn't have a DVD drive I figured I should download it. Couldn't find Lightroom 5 in the Appstore so I figured I should download a trial version and simply add the key from the DVD. Unfortunately I can't even download the trial version due to these error messages.

Why doesn't my space bar on iphone 5 work

It work sometimes but often times when I hit it, it does not space. So when I actually look at my message, it looks like one long word. I've tried restarting the phone and maybe hitting the space bar a little harder but no matter what I do, it still doesn't seem to respond.

If the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the User Guide (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW) don't solve your problem, bring your phone to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

It is completely unacceptable that they have not fixed this problem atter three years! I have contacted Costco Corporate offices and Consumer Reports. I bought my Satellite L755D-S5204 less than 2 months ago. The space bar does not always register a space. It seems to be the right side thumb hit area. My question is: I noticed a lot of the same problem in forums etc. and a lot of frustration with repair depot and Toshiba skirting the issue, SO.. 1. Is there a physical fix I can do? 2. Will a replacement keyboard fix this or is it luck of the draw with this type keyboard, maybe it will work maybe it won't? Anyway I really don't want to send it to UPS depot and get it back with the same issue. I am willing to buy a new keyboard but how do I know if it is a good one or not? Is there a Toshiba "fix keyboard" number or something? Is there an upgraded keyboard available? I so want to enjoy my new machine. Any or all info will be appreciated.

Hi Dhiraj,
When you click on the Log off button, do you see any yellow triangle icon (Something like warning) coming at the bottom left of the browser?
If so then you are experiencing a Javascript error with your browser. If you click on that icon a pop up should come up with the exact error.
If you get the error I mentioned I would recommend you to change the security settings of the browser to meduim or low.
Also if you go to internet properties->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites button,
You can try adding the URL of the Portal that you are using like :http://mysapportal
See if this works.
