Space Issues on IDES Server

Hi Experts:
We are running into some space issues within our IDES server.  We are running 4.70 SR 2.00 with Oracle 9.2 DB.
I was wondering if there is anything within the system that we could delete.
I had my eye on these folders:
F:\usr\sap\trans\cofiles
F:\usr\sap\trans\data
F:\oracle\IDS\sapdata2\undo_1
I have already cleaned up the EPS folders.
The other question I have relates to using partition magic to transfer extra space from two of the other drives.  What are your thoughts on this.
Thanks
Imran

sorry for being late, but there also other bussiness

  • Issue in Weblogic Server - Server Stops abruptly

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue with Weblogic server(8.1). One of the managed servers stops abruptly. Server run for some days. After 5 or 6 days it stops without giving any log message. Admin(mgt server) and this managed server are running in the same box(AIX Environment). Below is the only log I got. Any idea why it is happening?
According to the BEA Message it may be due to network problem. Since both the servers are running in same box, i don't think it is network issue.
Can anyone please help me on this? - thanks in advance

I think you should be able to follow the same steps but whenever you come across Domain B in the instructions, just substitute the values for Domain A. Because it is the same domain you may not even have to go through some of the certificate steps. If you have questions I suggest you post them in the WLS Security forum.

  • Backup Issue of exchange server 2007 mailbox store

    Dears
Exchange server 2007 with CCR clustering
I have got a problem with the backup of one of my mailbox store. Its going till the last and giveing the final error as follows:-
V-79-57344-65247 - A failure occurred reading an object.
    Also the warning as follows:-
Backup- \\mailserver.domain\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group
WARNING: "\\mailserver.domain\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group\Database" is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify.
Backup V-79-57344-34108 - An unexpected error occurred when cleaning up snapshot volumes. Confirm that all snapped volumes are correctly resynchronized with the original volumes.
Does it mean my information store is really a corrupted file. It has been properly monted and logs are genearting.
Even when I checked the last full backedup log file from the management shell it clearly shows the backing up is properly happened on the log files.
When I checked the event log of Exchnage server I can see these logs:-
    Event ID 401, 403 errors
The size of the problem store is 308 GB.
One of the other store with 46 GB is backing up without any issue

    Hi,
If you have a space issue with the Exchange server, you can upgrade drives on active node and passive node one by one. It is not recommended to upgrade them at the same time.

  • Log File Issue In SQL server 2005 standard Edition

We have database of size 375GB .The data file has 80 GB free space within .When trying to rebuild the index we had 450 GB free space on the disk where Log file is residing. The rebuild index activity failed due to space issue.added more space and got the
    job done successfully
The Log file has grow up to 611GB to complete the rebuild index.
version :SQL server 2005 Standard Edition .Is ther a way to estimate the space required for rebuild index in this version.
I am aware we notmaly allocate 1.5 times of data file. But in this case It was totaly wrong.
Any suggestion with examples would be appreciated.
    Raghu

OK, there's a few things here.
Can you outline for everybody the recovery model you are using, the frequency with which you take full, differential and transaction log backups.
Are you selectively rebuilding your indexes or are you rebuilding everything?
How often are you doing this? Do you need to?
There are some great resources on automated index maintenance, check out
    this post by Kendra Little.
Depending on your recovery point objectives I would expect a production database to be in the full recovery mode and as part of this you need to be taking regular log backups otherwise your log file will just continue to grow. By taking a log backup it will
clear out information from inactive VLF's and therefore allow SQL Server to write back to those VLF's rather than having to grow the log file. This is a simplified version of events, there are caveats.
A VLF will be marked as active if it still has an open transaction in it or there is a HA option that still requires that data to be available as that data has not been copied to another node yet.
Most customers that I see take transaction log backups every 15 - 30 minutes, but this really does depend upon how much data your company can afford to lose. That's another discussion for another day.
Make sure that you take a transaction log backup prior to your job that does your index rebuilds (hopefully a smart job not a sledge hammer job).
As mentioned previously swapping to bulk logged can help to reduce the size of the amount of information logged during index rebuilds. If you do this make sure to swap back into the full recovery model straight after and perform a full backup. There are
problems with the ability to do point in time restores whilst in the bulk logged recovery model, so you need to reduce the amount of time you use it.
Really you also need to look at how your indexes are created does the design of them lead to them being fragmented on a regular basis? Are they being used? Are there better indexes out there that can help performance?
Hopefully that should put you on the right track.
If you find this helpful, please mark the post as helpful,
If you think this solves the problem, please propose or mark it an an answer.
Please provide details on your SQL Server environment such as version and edition, also DDL statements for tables when posting T-SQL issues

  • Powerview Cannot connect to the server due to a security issue. The server may not have been able to match the host for silverlight

    Hello,
I have a sharepoint 2010 sp1 CU Dec 2011 server with a SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU4 reporting services instance.  I am able to open Power View and use it normally when bypassing the ISA Reverse Proxy server.  However when going thru ISA I receive the
    following Error.
Power View  Cannot connect to the server due to a security issue.  The server may not have been able to match the host for Silverlight.  This error appears after I click yes on an Internet Explorer Display Mixed Mode prompt.
I've seen a couple references to this issue but not much.  This one mentions a clientaccesspolicy.xml file but I haven't had any luck with that.  http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/716433/cannot-connect-to-the-server-due-to-a-security-issue-the-server-may-not-have-been-able-to-match-the-host-for-silverlight
    Any Ideas?  Thanks.
    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,
Based on my research, the issue should occur due to a by design behavior in Threat Management Gateway (TMG). To work around this issue, you can use SSL between the TMG and the SharePoint Web Server.
    Hope this helps.

  • IdM DB Space Issue

    Hi Experts,
We are facing IdM DB space issue in our PRD environment. Upon observing, it was found that the below tables are taking much space in IdM DB. Could anyone tell me what impact will my PRD system have if I truncate the below tables to free space. Please do help us out in this , if this problem is not solved, this will become the show stopper.
    mc_exec_stat
    MC_LOGS
    MC_SYSLOG
    mxi_entry

    mxi_link
    MXI_OLD_VALUES
    MXI_VALUES
    MXP_AUDIT
    MXP_Audit_Variables
    MXP_Ext_Audit
    Kind Regards,
    Mohamed Fazil

I don't know what you mean with too much diskspace? Perhaps you can post the sizes here and the number of entries in your system so we can evaluate if it's normal or not.
Most of the tables you list should not be touched and if you truncate link and entry you will delete all your assignments and entry data, and you would possibly be looking for a new job the next day.
The log tables should be maintained by the housekeeping as mentioned, but
    mc_exec_stat
    MC_LOGS
    MC_SYSLOG
can be cleaned but neither should have that much data, but large amounts of transactions cause logs to grow. Have you checked that your backup is cleaning the transaction logs? Also reduce loglevels to ERROR to reduce the amount logged here.
MXP_Audit_Variables should not contain audits that are not in the provisioning queue, if you delete those workflows will fail.
MXP_Ext_Audit can probably be cleaned without affecting operations (reports might be affected though) but you'll loose the detailed execution history on the entries, perhaps you can do partials, delete entries older than 3 years or similar.

  • Logical disk free space counters missing for server 2008 r2 and 2012 r2

I'm trying to get low disk space alerts for server 2008R2 and 2012 R2.  While the monitors exist for 2008 and 2012 (Not-R2), they are missign for all R2 operating systems.  Any idea how to either obtain these monitors, or create them so I can
get alerts for % disk free alerts?

What is your meaning of " monitors exist for 2008 and 2012 (Not-R2), they are missing for all R2 operating systems."? Does it means that the monitor is missing on all Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 R2 machine or it just a blank circle ?
By default, Windows XXX Logical disk Free Space monitor is enable for all windows XXX. You may check whether an override to disable it. Moreover, Windows Server XXXX Logical Disk Free Space (%) Low and Windows Server 2008 Logical Disk Free Space (MB) Low
is disable by default and you should manually enable it.

  • We've encountered the following issues: The remote server is not responding in a proper manner

I have never downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite/Photoshop basically anything for myself before and have just bought the Creative suite (£15.88/month) and am trying to install it to my computer (Windows 8). I have downloaded the Creative Cloud Set-Up but am unable to get any further than this. When I click on the download, it looks like it is going to download (Adobe Installer, Downloading Creative Cloud desktop and a loading bar) but then it tells me it has encountered the following issues: The remote server is not responding in a proper manner.
Now, I have been looking online for a solution and I saw something about changing an OOBE file in Program Files x86>Common Files>Adobe and at first there was no OOBE file so after more looking I thought I might have to download the Adobe Application Manager, which I did, but that doesn't work either, it just says unable to Reach Adobe servers, check internet connectivity (don't think there is anything wrong with this, I've not had any ther problems with internet connectivity) and firewall settings (i disabled the firewalls).
So I really have no idea what to do, the forums and help sites are confusing and none of the suggestions appear to work?!
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

    HI Jneilon,
Try folowing the kb article : Error "Remote server is not responding" | Install and confirm if its working fine or not .
If you are behind a corporate network with network restrictions ? If yes, You might want to connect with your IT department and request them to white list the entries for Adobe as mentioned in the article : Creative Cloud Help | About Creative Cloud Packager

  • Disk Space Issues

Does anyone out there have best practice insights on how to deal with disk space issues on the database server?  Can we copy the files onto different drives and then rename the drives?  Will everything with the BPC application sync up again?
Is there anything tricky in dealing with this issue?
    Thank you,
    Grant

    Hi Grant,
I once had to move the SQL database files from one drive to another. The only thing that I did was 'Detach the SQL database' in Enterprise Manager, move the files and 'Attach these files again. Everything else was automatically changed.
You can attach/detach using sql statements or using the graphicall user interface from SQL.

  • How to install ides server with sql plus database

    Hi to all,
I have one quarey regarding uninstall of ide server.
We have development server, in that we have development system and ides system.
Because ides system taking more space, we want to uninstall only ides system without disturbing development server.
Please give me suggestions how can in uninstall only ides system,
    Thanks & regards,
    Krishna

    Hello Krishna,
You should be able to uninstall the IDES instance safely using the SAPINST (assuming you have the latest SAP software installed).
For safety take a backup of your entire system (filesystem backup) followed by a database backup of your development system.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 DP - Reserve Disk Space issue

    Hi Team,
Issue with SCCM 2012 DP. Reserve Disk space issue.
During DP installation I have given 100000 MB as Reserve disk space, now my DP Share drive reached below 97 GB of free space, now I’m unable to distribute packages to the DP.
Below is the error Message in Smsdpprov.log
Failed to find space for 105874160 bytes.
    Solution tried:
Tried changing the reserve disk space value in Registry (HKLM- Software – Microsoft – SMS- DP- ReservedDiskSpace),
But the value is getting auto reset to old value after a restart.
Is there any way where I could change the Reserve disk space without reinstalling the DP Role?

    Hi,
    >>Is there any way where I could change the Reserve disk space without reinstalling the DP Role?
We need to edit the reserved free space in SQL database. But this is not supported by Microsoft.
    Steps:
    1) Run SQL query:
    select SCR.ID, SCR.Name,SC.NalPath, SCR.Value3 from sc_sysresuse_property SCR join sc_sysresuse SC on SCR.SysResUseID = SC.ID where SCR.name = 'MinFreeSpace' and SC.NALPath like '%<DP_Name>%' and SC.RoleTypeID = 3
Note: you need to replace the <DP_Name> with your actual remote DP server name.
    2) Use the returned ID in step 1). Run the below query to update the 'MinFreeSpace' value.
update sc_sysresuse_property set value3 = 'set desired value in MB' where name = 'MinFreeSpace' and ID = 'ID retained in previous select query'
    Example:
    update sc_sysresuse_property set value3 =20480  where name = 'MinFreeSpace' and ID = 75340198761234567
    3) In the next package content update cycle, the reserveddiskspace registry value (under HKLM\software\Microsoft\SMS\DP) will be changed
    to 20480.
Or you can restart the SMS_SITE_Component_Manager service on SCCM site server
to update the “reserved free space” value on remote DP.
    Best Regards,
    Joyce

  • RMAN restore fails due to space issue

    Hi,
My database size is 225 GB . I m restoring the backupfiles using RMAN from production backup to the test instance.During restore process rman failed due to space issue. When the error occurred rman restored around 122 GB.
Now i increased the free space in server. So now my doubt is i have to delete the restored files (122GB) and start the restore process again or RMAN will automatically skip the the restored file and resume the process from where it was failed ?
    DB Version -11.2.0.2
    RMAN error
channel CH2: ORA-19870: error while restoring backup piece /ebs/DEV/backup/GOLD_db_t801111628_s10788_p1.rman
ORA-19502: write error on file "/ebs/DEV/bin/db/apps_st/data/a_txn_data11.dbf", block number 3492608 (block size=8192)
    ORA-27072: File I/O error
Linux-x86_64 Error: 28: No space left on device
    Additional information: 4

    Thanks

When you start the restore from the failure, RMAN knows whcih are restored and it will check file headers. if the headers match, it will skip restoring the files.
    Hope this helps,

  • Certificates issued by communications server for client authentication

    Hi,
we ran into problem with those certificates, that are being issued by the lync server itself.  In our enteprise we have CX600 and CX3000 phones, and i know that certificate authentication is required for the phones to work (both for registrar and webservice).
However, now that users have lync installed, they have their communications server certificate assigned as well. The problem is when a user needs to sign a document with the certificate from our private CA, for most of the users, word or excel suggests to
use a certificate issued by communications server, not our ent CA. Maybe there is a way for LYNC to trust private enteprise CA and not give out its own certificates and STILL use certificate authentication?
    Thanks!

Facing almost the same issue, Lync (server) issues ClientAuth certs from "Communication Server", (btw
is not trusted of course), and in turns forces users to make a selection of which VPN cert to use when dialing in, instead of only one ClientAuth cert installed, they now have 2 ClientAuth certs installed, which our internal CA's should care about and NOT
    the Lync (server).
Don’t get how an MS product of this caliber can be built without proper PKI integration, how can it NOT utilize internally issued certs for client authentication???
Not the first though, SCCM and OSD is another example....
However, are you saying that Lync communication can’t be used without certificate authentication,
without the user being spammed with credential prompts?
Trying to get clarification on this…
