Space required for fix pack 1.2

Hi,
I'm attempting to install the fix pack 1.2 for BOE XI 3.1 and it keeps comming up with an error of
"Error 1307. There is not enough disk space to install this file: C:\Windows\Installer\ef82f.msp. Free some disk space and click Retry, or click Cancel to exit. STW00206"
This implies that I don't have sufficient space to complete the install, but how much disk space do I need and on which drive?
I've added the second question of 'on which drive' as I am installing on to the D:\ drive of the server and have already switched my temp environment variable to also point to D:\, yet the error is referencing a file on the C:\ drive.
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I would suggest to have at least 3 GB free on your C: drive. Some of the files are extracted on the C: drive since they are related to the Windows Installer.

Stratos

  • What are the disk space requirements for CC2014?

Yes, Adobe has the system requirements for each INDIVIDUAL app in CC2014 listed, but they're all listed separately. Since I'll be installing the entire suite on my new machine, I'd like to know the disk space requirements for the ENTIRE suite.
    Thanks

There's a summary in the table at the bottom of the page here:

Oracle 10.2.0.3 is NOT supported - uninstall patchset 10.2.0.3 first.

This depends on how much data you will load into the system.

  • Disk space required for business content activation

    Hi everyone,
I'm looking for information about how much disk space is required for activation of differents parts of business content (or ultimately, ALL business content in NW04S). I'm also looking for that information on extractors side on R/3.
Reason why i'm asking is that I am convinced that it is better to activate as much Biz Content as possible straight at the beginning of an implementation project even though part of it should not be used in the first place(mostly because if you activate BC later while already in production you have high risks of overwrite or conflicts with existing objects). However I am often opposed the argument that this consumes useless diskspace blah blah blah...
I'd be curious to know the exact diskspace Biz Content actually takes when activated, so any information about it is welcome.
    Thanks!
    Christian

iam also agreeing wih ur opinion it is better to activate as much business content  a implementaio level

  • The space required for backup suddenly doubled

I'm running TC to backup my Macbook Pro (400GB in use of 500GB HD) and an external USB Drive (1TB in use of 2TB HD) since march this year.
The Space required on the TC (3TB) has been roughly 1.6 TB an didn't change much over the months.
A few days ago, TC reported it has deleted all backups prior to September because of low Space. Free Space on the TC is now only 750GB.
The Data on the USB Drive has not changed and nothing significantly on the Macbook.
    Any ideas what's going on?

Alright, so FileVault is not enabled and you see 1 sparsebundle on the Time Capsule's drive. Are you able to open this sparsebundle by doubleclicking?
If you can, you should either see a "time machine"-drive appear on your Desktop, a "Time Machine"-drive in your Finder underneath "Devices" (or both)
If you browse around your back-up this way, you should chance upon a list of folders with date-notations. Is there a file called something similar to "inprogress"? If so, this is an incompleted back-up. If Time Machine isn't performing a back-up right there and then, this is a failed back-up attempt. Does this file account for the extra space?
If the file is small, you can simply trash it without consequence. If it's huge, you'll experience trouble emptying your trash in the future. If so, let us know and we can provide a Terminal-command that can do the job.
If you can't open the sparsebundle, let is know the error.

  • Space requirements for FA

We have currently implemented GL, AP, and AR. We are now considering implementing FA. As part of our costing I would like to establish whether we will have enough space on our exiting server as is.
Does anybody have any guidelines, formulas, or experience that can be used to calculate typical requirements for FA?
Are there other hardware issues to consider?
    Thanks
    Barry

Click on download at the top of this page and you will find the installation documentation. Everything is clearly explained in this doc.
It should be something like :
3,5 GB of space for Oracle
    400MB for /tmp

    Hi,
    As per the installation guide:
Space for EHPI Directory: 15GB   -on the AS host
Free space on database: 50GB (Better to keep 90-100GB free)    -on the DB host
Shadow system instance: approx same size as that of the source release instance directory /usr/sap/<SID>   -on the AS host
The shadow instance is installed as a copy of the original instance, in parallel. The shadow system is used to update the affected software components and to install the additional components, while the original system is still in production operation.

  • Manual UpgradePreProcess for Fix Pack 2 failing

Has anyone encountered a problem upgrading to Fix Pack 2 (8.0.0.2) via the manual process? The UpgradePreProcess is not outputting any log file and seemingly does nothing. I'm thinking there's something missing from the classpath? The UpgradePostProcess outputs an error relating to getVersion, which means something's missing. Help...

Problem solved. Avoid using 64 bit Java with the installer. Rock ON!

  • Space requirements for Time Machine?

    Greetings,
I have recently bought an iMac (last week) and awaiting my update to Leopard. One of the novelties that interests me most about Leopard is the Time Machine, but I was wondering how much disk space it would require on my external drive.
I know this depends on the data I need to back up. Both my internal and external drive are 500 Gb. I have for some 100 Gb worth of data, pictures and applications on my internal drive, and for some 350 Gb of data on the external drive.
Does Time Machine backup everything, including the installed applications, or can one indicate which files should and should not be backed up.
    Thanks for your response.
    Cheers,
    Amenhotep III

...but I was wondering how much disk space it would require on my external drive.
You'll need enough space on the external to contain the initial backup, subsequent hourly backups will be incremental as you create/ make changes to files/ folder. One of the nice features with TM is that you can set its preferences to exclude files and folder, making the backups much smaller in size.
I have for some 100 Gb worth of data, pictures and applications on my internal drive, and for some 350 Gb of data on the external drive.
The external will be of sufficient size for TM backup. When TM finally fills the external it can then over-write the older backups if you wish (or you can attach another disk to keep every backup it ever made, not necessary for most I think).

  • Unreasonable space requirements for syncing photos to nano...

I have a 1st generation 4GB nano, with up to date firmware (version 1.3.1, Mac formatted). I'm using iTunes version 7.6 (29) and having trouble syncing photos (from iPhoto) to my nano.
I have configured iTunes to sync photos from only one, relatively small set, and have not turned on the full resolution copies. If I leave a bunch of space free on my ipod (over 100 MBs) then my photos sync fine. However, when there is less space free, but still seemingly enough space to fit the photos, iTunes tells me "No photos were copied to the iPod... because there is not enough free space on the iPod to hold your photos and albums."
For example, I was able to successfully sync my photo set such that I had 3.57GB in Audio, 726.2 KB for Photos, 48 MB for Other (what is "Other", btw?) and 143.4 MB of free space. However, I am not able to sync any photos when I have 3.68 GB in Audio, 47.9 MB in Other and 34.3 MB in free space.
What I don't understand is if the photos only take up 726.2 KB, iTunes should be able to sync them to the iPod when there's still 34.3 MB of free space left.

    And then there were four...
This is rather frustrating. Not that I think it will do any good, but here's what I sent using iTunes' "Feedback" option since there is no way, that I have found, to directly ask the iTunes technicians a technical question:
There is no place to directly ask you (the iTunes technicians) for support about iTunes except in the forums. My question is already in the forums and already has three people with the same problem and no answer. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6240563&#6240563
Vista Ultimate x64, HP Pavilion TX1000 CTO, 2GB RAM, AMD Turion 64x2.
    iTunes version 7.6.1.9
Not all photos sync to the ipod, it doesn't say why or what to do, they are *.jpg files. Some that do sync end up looking distorted with color bars and other odd artifacts, originals remain pristine. Sometimes when syncing photos, I get a blue screen of death.
I know you don't respond to these comments, but at least have someone post a fix on the forum there, or tell me to whom I can send comments for official help with specific and real issues instead of the very general user guides, "support documents" and "blind leading the blind" forums.

  • Are there iPhone 4/4s space requirements for ios 7 update?

I have a 16GB 4S. I've read a couple of articles online saying I will need to "free up quite a bit of space" on my phone if I want to try and update to iOS 7 via OTA. Is this true? And if so, just how much space do I need to make available?  I think I have 1.3GB free at the moment. Will this suffice?
    - C

I highly doubt that 1.3GB free will be enough, as that would not be enough to download, uncompress, and install, iOS 6.
OTA updates take more space then doing the update through your computer's iTunes, since your iPhone must have space for the downloaded file, for the uncompressed installer of that download, and then some temp space as it actually installs the updated firmware.  As near as I remember, iOS 6 took up something like 600MB of space, but required something closer to 2.5GB of free space for the OTA update download/installation process.
I'd guess you will either need to free up some space (how much we won't know until it is released) or you could try downloading in iTunes and updating from there, instead of an OTA update.
