Spaces Hotkeys no longer work with 10.5.3 update.

Can anyone help me here? I've tried everything I can think of but nothing works. It's like the Finder won't recognize the hotkeys for spaces anymore. F8 works to bring the windows up but I can no longer use the control-arrow keys to move between spaces. I've tried re-assigning to different keys and still nothing. I can't be the only one experiencing this....

Same exact problem I have been having. I just realized how efficient spaces is a few days ago. I had it set up, and finished assigning programs to them. I download the update today, and NO MORE! I have gone through every other potential conflict, and nothing. This issue really must be with the update. Looks like apple has another issue to rectify in the next update. Please, Apple...fix this soon! I feel I'm losing ground.

I called Apple Support after trying many fixes suggested online. They directed me to the procedure on the following page:

I did the erase and restore option they suggested since I had tried a pile of ther things suggested on posts and blogs and they did not work. I even waited the obligatory 24 hours, thus the restore from backup option was what they suggested. I have a 64gig iPhone 4S and it took about 1.5 hours to complete the entire operation seeing that I am using about 54 gigs of that capacity.
Warning: I lost all of my emails and all of the data files from one of my map programs so be sure you have everything that you really need from your phone store elsewhere before wiping your phone. I thought that the backup on my computer would restore everything but obviously NOT.

Can you see the drive in Disk Utility? If so, try selecting it and using the Mount button in the top menu. You can also run repair disk and repair permissions.

Meid no longer working with ting after recent update

Hey guys i have a 4s with an meid of 99000, was working fine then the recent update seems to have changed the meid or something because it was different then the one originally supplied to ting my provider, and it no longer works on any network it seems,
it was my wifes phone on the sprint network and worked fine on ting for a couple years until recently

i think its the sim card i get 2 bars without it and no service with the sim card in, does this sound right?

Aperture no longer works with new osx Yosemite update

I installed new OSX Yosemite update and now it says that my Aperture App. will not work with this version. What can be done other than updating Aperture?

It's a five step process
Call Apple Support for Software > Aperture
Answer questions at recorded message (have Aperture serial number ready – it is on a sticker on the back of the 'Installing Your Software' booklet) and you will be transferred to a real person.
Inform them of the issue and they will tell you that this is a known issue with certain users and they will request a 'Redemption Code' for the App Store for a standalone download of Aperture. The issue will be rectified in the next Yosemite release.
Wait for email from Support (they have to contact Support in California for redemption code, so depending on your time zone, there may be some delay).
Visit App Store, enter redemption code, and you are good to go.

Photoshop hotkeys no longer work with 10.4.4

I have been getting a problem with my g5 when running Photoshop CS the quick zoom keys will not work (ie optapplespace). After they stop working I have tried re installing Photoshop CS and nothing works still. I have tried completely taking all references from library etc off the machine secure deleting and then re installing and it still happens. Its weird cause its only the zoom keys that are affected. To get it working again I have to do an archive and install and everything is back to normal. Is this ir has anyone had any issues with this ?

Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Logic Pro no longer works with Firewire 1814 after updating drivers

I was attempting to hook up 2 M-Audio Firewire 1814 units and use them from Logic Pro 7. The older driver I was using would actually crash with this configuration, and so I updated to the latest driver, thinking this might solve the problem.
Well, the M-Audio driver now comes up fine - I can even monitor the signal levels coming from both devices in the associated UI. However, when I launch Logic Pro, I get the following message:
"Logic Pro has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers."
Although I can arm some of the lower track numbers (I still get this message), I cannot do so with higher track numbers.
Effectively, installing the latest M-Audio driver has broken my version of Logic Pro for whatever reason.
Removing and reinstalling the driver made no difference.
Any thoughts, anyone??

Second monitor will no longer work with 10.9.3 update

Hi everyone,
I just updated to 10.9.3 and now my second monitor will not work. My Mac doesn't even recognize it.
I have a thunderbolt to Firewire connector on my Mac Pro going to a DVI connector to my monitor. I've repaired permissions and tried different ports, but nothing is happening.
Any suggestions?

Function keys no longer working with a new keyboard...

I got a new keyboard and my function keys no longer work with it. I am used to have them used in the standard format, i.e. F10-F12 control the voume, etc. I have the "Use all f1,f2, etc." button clicked. I have also tried restarting my computer. Any thoughts?

Try doing a SMC reset and PRAM reset.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

Bluetooth No Longer Working With Headset

I have a Motorola bluetooth headset that I've used with my ibook before without a hitch, but when I screwed up OS X and reinstalled it (note: reinstalled the operating system, but didn't format) it no longer works with the headset. I can connect to it just fine, but if I try to use it for anything such as switch my audio output to the headset, the program will freeze - same applies to using the headset for input. The headset isn't broken as it works fine with my phone, but my ibook won't cooperate and they are paired correctly. Is their someway to reinstall the bluetooth drivers or something to that extent? i'm using Mac OSX 10.4.11 and Firefox 3.6.12. As i understand it any of ur upgrades no longer work with this computer system. ( I tried to upgrade last week and ur site said upgrades no available gfor my platform version. Last week every time i conducted a search (default Google) i was redirected to http://search.creativecommons.org/?q=crossword+puzzles&sourceid=Mozilla-search.what gives? Have I been hijacked? also sites that I use daily are clipped and entire pages are smaller than usual . see www.shockwave.com

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Cmd+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
Firefox > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
If you open about:crashes, you should get links to online crash reports. You could post some of the crash IDs for review by volunteers here.
Given the timing, another issue might be some ads or media in the page. There are some add-ons to block such things...

Facebook and Slacker no longer working with Firefox. Still work with Explorer. Until a week ago problem did not exist.

I am for about one week not able to input information on Facebook. Also the Facebook page appears in a huge font. Regarding Slacker I do not see any available online radio stations.
