Spaces in between images ; textbox help

in my dreamweaver HTML page, after i insert say like, 5 images, they clump all together, and i'm unable to separate them (like how i'd be able to do them in microsoft powerpoint)
is there anyway that will enable me to freely shift around these images, so that they are not always joined together?
another questions, how can i insert a space for me to type what i want, without the annoying form box, where you fill in stuff in surveys. it'd be like inserting a text box in microsoft ppt, just allocating a space for you to put in your words
hope you guys know what i mean!
EDIT: i've realised that i can put in the H and V space. but how would i say, put in a paypal "buy now" button HTML code, under that space? is the space usable?

Building web pages in Dreamweaver is nothing like working with PowerPoint.  This isn't a click and drag application.  If you switch to Code View, you can insert non-breaking spaces (   ) between images like so:
<img src="some-image.jpg">  insert space, insert space,   <img src="some-other-image.jpg">
To add captions to images, you will need a working knowlege of CSS and HTML code.

  • Spaces appear between images

    Hi, I'm a beginner in DW so please bear with me!  I'm getting used to DW by learning to create HTML emails.  I've made my first 'test' email (by going File > Preview in Browser > IExplorer..... then in Explorer, I went Page > Send Page by Email).  It appeared fine when I sent it to myself in Outlook, however when it goes to Hotmail the images break apart.  Please see examples.
    Perhaps useful info: what I didn't notice the first time I sent it was that it does appear slightly like this, though not as extreme, when it opens up the new email window in Outlook (before sending).  But when I receive the email to the same account it looks fine.
    Hope somebody can help, thanks for your time.
    P.S. I know about the resolution probs with some text, I'm also learning Ai and PS at the same time!  Cheers.

    Hi, have made some very minor changes since I posted last time (just added a thus far failing link!!) - sorry, didn't realise you'd want the code. Here it is though, thanks for your response.

  • I can't get rid of white space between images (even when margins are 0)

    I'd like the user to be able to add two images that actually touch. I've set up 2 image fields that are touching, and set the margins to 0, but there is still white space in between the user added pictures.
    I thought maybe the problem had something to do with borders, but when i click the borders palette, it tells me "these properties are not available for forms that contain background artwork".
    Any help is appreciated.

    The behavior only appears if you create a static form.
    I saw an old thread about it here in the forums, you have commented too.
    It probably will never get changed or nobody have ever send a bug report about this to Adobe.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4927663#4927663
    I never had such problem with image fields in dynamic forms.
    And I almost never build static forms from existing PDF files, as those forms are too limited in — ahem — everything.

  • Unwanted spaces between images, fine in browsers spaces appear in email clients

    using the help and tips on here i managed to eliminate the gaps between images and the borders around hyperlinked images so that it looks good in browsers unfortunately when i go to view it in outlook it creates spaces, weirdly only between some images and not all. I'm a novice so a step by step guide would be super. Please see the code below. the gaps appear above and below images:

    Any help would be great. Thanks

    You cannot ever hope to successfully create an html email using one big table. It's bad enough when going down that route for ordinary browser viewing but when it comes to email clients they are a lot less forgiving.
    You need to use a series of simple nested tables. No spliting or merging cells, that's suicide.

  • Help on how to make an infinite loop with the same space on all images

    HI:
    I made a movie clip with infinite  loop in which there are images that move from right to left something simple like a marquee, and each image has a blank space between  them, but between last and first image there is a more space, how I can do to  make all images have an equal space between each one and that the motion never stops.

    Thanks for your time and answers my friend, but I'm still not be able to achieve what I want, I forgot to tell that I'm doing this by layers, let's say, I have 5 images, (in fact I have like 50 images converted to movie clip symbols) each image has it's own layer, layer 1, layer 2, layer 3, layer 4, layer 5, then I put a 200 frame motion tween on all layers at 30 fps, then I arranged layer 1 on the first frame to the frame 200, the second layer from frame 50 to frame 250, third layer from frame 100 to frame 300, fourth layer from frame 150 to frame 350, and fifth layer from frame 200 to frame 400, by this I mean I put a 50 frame of space on each image but if you can see, the last image has a duration from frame 200 to frame 400, and there's nothing on frame 250 where it is supposed to be another image to match the same blank space of all the others, the movie clip restarts on the frame 400, and there's a 150 frames of blank space between the last image and the first image, I put the gotoandplay on the frame 250, but it abruptly restarts the movie.
    Is there another way to do this ?
    Am I doing something wrong ?
    Please I really really need help on this.
    Thanks

  • Space between images

    When placing images on a website, I get smal spaces between the images. They are only visible in Safari, not in Firefox. What am I doing wrong?
    www.conceptualz.nl

    I went looking, didn't see any images with space problems
    But one thing you can do in your style sheet is the following:
    img {
         border: 0;
         padding: 0;
         margin: 0;
    That will remove any space between images.
    If the images are links, then you would:
    img a link {
         border: 0;
         padding: 0;
         margin: 0;

  • How do I remove extra space after an image in an ePub created with InDesign?

    I've designed more than a dozen ebooks with InDesign and have recently been having problems with the spacing after images, both images that are anchored in the text or stand-alone and exported through the Articles Panel. Following are a few details:
    • In the Object Export Settings, I have the vertical spacing set to 0 both before and after the images and no breaks added.
    • In the Export panel, I do not have any vertical spacing applied to images.
    • I do not have any Object Style settings applied.
    • It doesn't seem to matter if I anchor the image into the text or have it as a stand-alone image in the Articles Panel with the caption after it in a separate text box, also in the Articles Panel.
    • I broke down the ePub into an html file and did not see any div or span classes that were different between images that are showing correctly vs. incorrectly.
    • Extra space appears in both iBooks on my computer, as well as on my iPad.
    • I converted to a mobi file for the Kindle and the space wasn't there.
    See attached screen shot. There shouldn't be that big gap between the image and the orange caption.
    Any help or suggestions anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I've tried everything I can think of with the same results over and over!

    Yes. That is the technique I traditionally use to drop an image into text. I even cut and pasted again as you suggested with the same result. Trust me, this is driving me nuts. I'm not doing anything different than before, but my results are different, even within the same document. I'll attach a few examples, all from this same document.

  • Remove extra white space from an image

    I want to remove the extra white space in my image while writing it into a jpeg file using JPEGImageEncoder.
    Any help is welcome .

    ok.. Am having a JPanel whose width is set to 77000. But almost 60% of right hand side of the Panel is empty. I will create a BufferedImage from this component and then write it into a file using JPEGImageEncoder.
    The empty portion of the panel is coming as a white space in the image.
    Now how to remove this ? Was that clear enough ?

  • Space around nested images in Div Tag

    How do you add space in between three images nested next to each other in a #LayoutDiv tag in DW CS6.  I'm working in Fluid grids with percentages.  Thanks,

    If you are adding a margin as I show above and it's not showing up in your page, you may have something zeroing out the margin later in the stylesheet, or in another stylesheet referenced after the sheet you are adding the rule to.
    You cantry embedding the css into the <head> of a page to see if that's the case.

  • How to set color space to JPEG image with Java advance Imaging

    How to set color space to JPEG image with Java advance Imaging.
    is there any API in JAI which support to set color space.

    I'm definately no guru, but this is how you can change it.
    CTRL + ALT + Click on the part of the component that you want to change. This brings up the Hidden Dom Inspector, background of component will be surrounded with a red outline (Make sure the red outline is surrounding the part of the tabset you want to change), Now you go to properties sheet and click the ellipses next to rules property this will pop up a dialog you look in this list (At the top) to see the default style classes that are affecting the rendering of the component outlined in red. (You will be able to select different sections of a single component) then you just rewrite the style class that you want to change in your Stylesheet (You will not find the styleclass that you want to change because it is a part of your theme .jar but as long as you name it exactly the same and place in your stylesheet it will override the theme .jar style classes) it's actually very easy -- you were right should be a piece of cake for a guru. Don't have the link handy but you can check out Winston's Blog on changing Table Formatting to get this information...It is EXTREMELY useful if you want your apps to have a custom look and not default that comes with Creator Themes.
    Hope this helps you out God knows others have helped me alot!

  • Space appearing between menu buttons

    http://www.nicbtest.co.uk
    Hi,
    I have a table with menu buttons.  There's no padding or anything in it, but a couple of the buttons appear to have a space between them though the rest are fine.  When I look at it in Dreamweaver it looks fine, but when I preview or publish it, the space appears (between classes & personal training).  Can anyone tell me why?
    (the photos are just there to show my friend how it could look - they're just copied from the internet & will be deleted)
    Many thanks
    Nicola

    The classes button image is 42 pixels high. It has been scaled down a pixel in the code to 41 pixels.
    Try changing:
    <img src="buttons/ClassesOff.gif" alt="Classes" name="ClassesOff" width="166" height="41"
    to
    <img src="buttons/ClassesOff.gif" alt="Classes" name="ClassesOff" width="166" height="42"

  • Not Enough Free Space on NetBoot Image Partition

    Since the NetBoot server isn't all that popular, I'm going to explain how it works a bit before I get into my problem.
    I assume everyone knows how it works on the client end. You choose an image and your Mac boots that image over the network. Quick, easy, painless. It's a cool system. So on the server/admin side…
    Every version of OS X Server comes with it's own System Imaging Utility. So lets say you want to make a netboot image with some utilities on it. So you take an external hard drive. Make two partitions on it. On one partition, you set it up to be the netboot image. So you install all of the utilities you want installed. You configure all of the preferences just the way you want them. Set your background image, etc, etc. On the other image, you just do a quick clean plain installation of your OS. And you also install your OS X Server Admin tools (or in case of 10.8, the Server app). So once your image-to-be is configured, you boot the second partition, and run the imaging utility. This utility will turn your volume into a netboot image. A netboot image is basically just a folder with some .plists in it, a read-only disk image of your initial volume, and a kernel or two (10.5).
    NetBoot images are read-only. So when you boot them, you can make as many changes as you want. But once you shut down, all changes are lost. Every time any mac boots a netboot image, it is booting the image exactly as it was when you made it. The changes you make are stored in shadow files on the server that you can periodically toss, since they are only used during the current active session. Once you reboot, the shadow files are useless.
    So here is the problem: When you make a netboot image from a real volume, the utility only leaves a small amount of free space on the volume. Even though the disk image is read only, the amount of free space matters because that's still all you get to use. In other words, if the .dmg file in the netboot image i just made only has 900 MB of free space in the volume, then that's all I get for free space on any machine I boot off that image. Even though the image is read only, and all of the "free space" is actually being stored as shadow files on the server, that limit is still applied. And 900 MB is not very much free space. So you can boot a utilities volume and if a program eats up a lot of ram, that virtual memory can eat up what little free HD space you have, and suddenly your netboot image is not very functional.
    Now being the clever fellow that I am, I came up with a solution to this problem last time around. I used the following command to resize the partition (and only the partition) of the .dmg file, inside the netboot image (netboot images are just folders).
    hdiutil resize -size 60g -partitiononly NetBoot.dmg
    This resized the volumes to 60 GB. But it was all blank space, so the .dmg file's size did not change. It would just mount as a read only volume with 40 GB of free space instead of a few hundred MB. This little trick worked very well. But it's not working any more. I can't figure out why. But every time I try to run this command on the .dmg file, I get an error very similar to the following:
    hdiutil: resize request 125829120 is above maximum size 18005952 allowed.
    hdiutil: resize: failed. Invalid argument (22)
    I get this error while running 10.8, 10.7, or 10.6. I get this error whether I'm trying to resize an image containing 10.8, 10.7, 10.6, 10.5, 10.4 or 10.3. I get this error whether I convert the image to a read/write image first, or even a spare image first. I get this error whether the original hard drive that volumes were on, is partitioned as APM or GUID.
    The "maximum size" listed in the error message is different for each image I try to resize. It's as if the tool is trying to fit the increase volume inside the existing free space of the image's volume. Which isn't what I'm trying to do at all.
    I've been using netboot images filled with utilities for years now. And overall it works very very well. I started back when the first macbooks came out with no firewire. I quickly realized I needed a better solution than booting my Mac into firewire mode to repair other Macs. And then when I got into it, I realized I could host images of all different OS versions. So now I can plug my MBP into a client's network, and boot any Mac they have off of a utility volume of any version of Mac OS X needed, all the way down to 10.3, all at the same time. And I also have NetInstall volumes too that let me install OS X for all these versions as well. The only real quirk I've had over the years, is this 'free' space issue. In the past (before the last time I updated my images, where I used the command above to resize the partitions and solve the problem), what I've done when I've ran into a HD pinch while working, is to immediately start deleting apps I don't think I'm going to need, right off the netbooted Mac. This frees up space on the netboot volume and the system is happy. And again it's all read only, so I'm not actually making changes to the image itself. One real half assed solution I thought of was to set up all of my netboot volumes as having a 1 GB file in their trash and not emptying it before creating a netboot image from the volume. Then when this problem came up and the OS was running out of disk space, I could just empty the trash. I'm quite sure this little trick would have worked, but it's so half-assed. I'd much rather just have more free space on the mounted disk images.

    But how did my command work so perfectly last time? Here's an image. On the left, the info window of the disk image inside my 10.7 Utilities netboot image. On the right, the info window for that disk image's mounted volume. The file is only 7 GB and the volume is a 30 GB volume with ~23 GB free. None of the free space of the volume is using up any actual disk space in the .dmg file. I did this once, there's got to be a way to reproduce this again?
    Here's the same thing with my 10.6 Utilities netboot image. Also in case I'm not being clear, these netboot images these screen shots are of, are from the last time I updated my netboot images ~11 months ago. These are not my current batch that I'm trying to finalize.
