Spaces needs to remember which window was active

If I have a few finder windows open in one space, and a Safari window on top of them for instance, if I then switch to another space and use finder (or just look at an empty desktop) and when I switch back to the first space all the finder windows are on top of Safari. This is verry anoying and can be even uglier when you run a fullscreen app in one space.

When I need to restart Firefox, it remembers to open windows from last session in correct display, but does not remember which desktop was used for each window. Thank you for your question, there is a add on I have been recommended to custom set up of opening windows in new monitors. It's called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ Monitor Master].
However, in regards to the session remembering which monitor the window was open in, in the profile folder there is a file that stores window positions and dimensions. It is called localstore.rdf.
Please stay tuned for more investigation, as there are definitely bugs on file for similar issues. Pinpointing it is the hard part.

How do I get Firefox to remember which windows were in which Spaces (OSX)?

I like having different Firefox windows in different Spaces in OSX. The problem is that I have to re-drag windows to their Spaces every time I restart Firefox, because Firefox will restore my windows in only one space.
Is there a plugin somewhere that will allow me to have Firefox remember and restore them in the Spaces they were in?

Remembering which tab was selected in panelTabbedPane

I need to have a way such that a panelTabbedPane would be dynamic. it has to remember the last selected tab or set which tab would be activated. Ex. i click tab3 of a tabbed page then it goes to a non-tabbed page, if i press CANCEL on the non-tabbed page it should go back to the tab3 - the calling tab, instead of the selectedIndex tab or like the default tab.
Is tabChangeListener an option and how can that be implemented?

Are you saying that you have multiple parameters and that in each parameter the user can pick a different value and that you then want the system to sort in the order of those items?
With some manipulation of the data you can do it. Here is what I would do and I will assume there are 3 parameters called User1, User2, User3:
1. Create a new calculation called MySort like this:
CASE WHEN "User Name" = :User1 THEN '1'|| "User Name" WHEN "User Name" = :User2 THEN '2'||"User Name" ELSE '3'||"User Name" END
2. Now you create a Group Sort on this new calculation and make it hidden - the items will then appear in the order you entered them in parameters 1, 2 and 3
If you want to use a single parameter and allow your user to enter up to three value then this can be done too but you have to change the parameter to not allow the user to key multiple values. Instead you will be using a single parameter with each individual value separated by something other than a comma, say a /.
What you do next is use the SUBSTR command to split out the individual pieces and use those in your condition such as:
"User Name" = Value1 OR "Use Name" = Value2 OR "User Name" = Value3, where Value1, Value2 and Value3 come by splitting up the single parameter into multiple values.
With this done you do a similar job as I showed you at the beginning for completing the sort:
CASE WHEN "User Name" = Value1 THEN '1'|| Value1 WHEN "User Name" = Value2 THEN '2'|| Value2 ELSE '3'|| Value3 END

Why does Firefox switch which window is active?

It seems like nobody has had this problem since Firefox 3, but I've been having it since Firefox 5, and 7 hasn't solved it yet.
I work with multiple Firefox windows open, each with multiple tabs open. Often I will click a link in one window, then switch to another window while the page in window one opens.
The problem is that when the page has finished loading, Firefox will switch the focus back to window one, ripping me out of whatever I'm doing in window two. There's no warning, no flash on the taskbar, just a jump to the window where a page has finished loading.
I have changed my Windows XP settings to prevent apps from stealing focus and changed to notification time setting to max, so it's not a Windows issue (as near as I can tell; no telling what new default Microsoft has decided everybody wants).
If it matters, I switch active windows via ALT-TAB (I'm a dinosaur who started keyboarding before Windows hit the market).

This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Need help understanding which fico was pulled by lender

I currently have a mortgage and am planning on relocating..Ive been taking all advise on her last cpl months my scores were pulled by my Mortgage lender on 3-19-2015just not sure which fico system they are they read as follows Exp/fair issac(version 2) 611, Trans/Fico classic(04) 602, Equif/Fico classic v5 facta 597-I dont want to do another hard pull yet , at time of this pull i had 5 accounts in collections. got 2 PFD the other 3 are from 2011 medical collections totaling$300 working on pfd-have not been late on mortgage in 18 months(1 30 day late Jan of 2014)-Have gotten one creditcard with opensky, use it and make sure only reports 5-7% balance(opened april 2015)-my major problem was/is the collections and i had no credit besides my mortgage so with those 2 baddies off and now have a creditcard i must have gained some pts?? Im about to sign up for myfico monthly but want to make sure its the same score my lender is using. I had a cpl personal loans in 2012 that report i paid on time but they are closed..just $1000 loans i paid off but still on my reportThanks

Are you sure the OpenSky card is reporting? Does it show up on CK for example? You don't want to do the initial MyFICO pull before everything you want to show is reported. I made that mistake and ended up with initial scores that did not reflect my balances that were reporting that month. Still kicking myself for that one. If all you have is the Open Sky card you should get one more credit card at the very least - it will give you another small score boost when it reports. Wait until the late payment ages past 24 months before applying for a refi, you will get another score boost at that point.

Is it possible to have the accordian remember which pane was open when the browser jumps to a new page

I have the same accordion on all of my pages and I would like
to have the accordion maintain the same open status that the user

How to determine which Windows application has focus

I'm new to JAVA and new to programming. I hope someone will help me out. I'm trying to write a simple JLink program (JLink is a JAVA API for Pro|Engineer, a CAD design program). In part of this program I need to determine if Pro|E has focus. Is there some way to use JAVA to determine which actively running Windows application has focus?
I basically want my program to pause when focus changes to another program. For example: While Pro|E is active and has focus the program runs, when I select an Excel window, or Outlook, or Notepad or any other window my program will pause until focus is returned. I just need to determine which window within Windows has focus.
I hope I have explained this properly. I searched the internet for an answer but found nothing. I did come across some references to JNI, but I'm not sure what that is or how to use it.

I just need to determine which window within Windows has focus.No, you don't. All you need to determine is whether your application has the focus. If it doesn't, then some other application does, but it's really irrelevant which one does. All that's relevant is that your application doesn't have the focus and hence it should pause.

How Do I Know Which commandButton was Clicked in the Validation Phase?

I have three <h:commandButton ... /> components in a single form. In order to implement some validation rules, I need to know which one was clicked. I cannot rely on the configured actionListener methods because they have not yet been invoked in the JSF life-cycle.
It seems that the components representing each of these buttons get created and their values are all set to null. So that doesn't help.
I could set a hidden field using a JavaScript onclick event handler, but that seems to be a hack for something that any decent web application framework should be able to handle elegantly.

Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album. These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer. If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices.

Yeah not a problem. It does seem though that if you did not have a Time Machine backup then you may not be able to recover the deleted folder :/ But for future reference to prevent any of this, a Time Machine backup is a great investment.
What it does is create an entire backup of your computer anything from personal information down to the screen saver.
What you first need is a new external hard drive (I would recommend a 1TB or higher just to prevent running out of space soon).
after that, just plug in the drive to your computer.
once it is plugged in, in the top right hand corner, close to the wi-fi symbol, you should see a symbol that looks like a clock with a backwards arrow around it.
click on that and select "open time machine preferences"
just turn the button to the "on" position, and select the backup drive and Time Machine does the rest

Sorry, but I disagree fundamentally here. While it is true that RAM prices have come down since XP was released, there are many machines out there for which you can't just buy regular RAM around the corner. Either because the systems were designed so that only a certain amount of RAM can be used (e.g., 128 MB on one of my VAIOs) or because they use a special socket or because you are not allowed to open the case or for whatever other reason you can think of.
I am not necessarily complaining. But I frequently hear that Microsoft wants to sell Windows 7 upgrades to XP owners. So if Microsoft wants to upgrade XP owners to Windows 7, they should better make sure that technical requirements are less or equal to those of XP.
And no, it's not given by nature that newer OSes always need to become fatter, slower, and more RAM hungry: have a look at Mac OS X which actually improved performance over the past releases, even on older machines.
Also, before you flame me, I'm not just caring about "museum age" computers. I bought a netbook just months ago and it came with 1 GB of RAM. Warranty is void if I open the case. So I can't "just" upgrade to more than 1 GB RAM.

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.a. Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode by holding down the key combination command-T at the startup chime. Connect the two Macs with a FireWire or Thunderbolt cable. The internal drive of the machine running in target mode will mount as an external drive on the other machine. Copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
Step 2
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Step 3
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is damaged and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
Step 4
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
Step 6
Boot into Recovery again. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.
Step 7
Repeat step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a backup.
Step 8
A dead logic-board battery in a Mac Pro can cause a gray screen at boot. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions.
Step 9
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
