Spaces page creation - missing page style options

I am trying to create a page in spaces based upon Wiki Page Style. However when I create a new page in my spaces Spaces -> create page, I do not get option to select "Wiki Page Style" and "Blog page Style". I could however see these page styles listed in My Spaces - > Settings -> Resources - > Look and Layout -> Page Styles
I am using WebCenter Spaces 11g PS3
Please can someone point out what needs to be done to get those page styles listed when creating a new page in spaces.

Kingsley,
I used the same ateam code for creating the page  in portal framework, it works fine there, but if i use the same code in webcenter spaces 11.1.1.8 it is not working and in that ateam code they are passing null to the parent page path and i tried all these entries for the parent page path in webcenter spaces but nothing worked.
parentPagePath="/oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s1df097cd_2859_4e32_bee4_16f81f5b09f3/";
parentPagePath="/oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s573026b5_4f17_45e0_bdae_986017c24427/pages.xml";

  • Page creation error / Missing .pagewizard

I find I can't create portal pages because of a missing procedure called
    WWpob_page_edit.pagewizard.
The page creation works up to the point of
clicking "finish". Everything else seems to work OK too.
Does everybody else also have this missing?

    Hey Scott,
Nope, just trying to create a page. I've run into it twice since today, but after logging off and coming back, it seems to work fine. Sorry about not being able to reproduce it in a reliable manner. If I run into it again, I'll repost. Wow!..You guys work on Saturday too?
Thanks very much for the response,

  • Page is missing meta language information

I was looking in my Bing Webmaster Info, in the SEO Analysis, and got this-
The page is missing meta language information.
The Meta Language information is used as a hint to help us understand the intended language and country/region the page content applies to. This can help if your site is not hosted in the country/region. Use the “content-language” meta tag to embed the culture code in the <head> section of your page. For example, <meta http-equiv="content-language" content="en-gb"> indicates that the page is in English and intended for the the United Kingdom. Alternatively, you can use <html lang="en-gb"> or <title lang="en-gb">.
    Recommended Action-
Use <meta http-equiv="content-language" content="ll-cc"> tag in the  <head> section of your page, where "ll-cc" stands for the culture code of the language and country/region the content applies to. Alternatively use the lang="ll-cc" attribute on either the <html> or the <title> tag .
Looks like I have 148 pages missing this language, My question is, can I add or correct this this using CS3?

    Hi,
You may add the meta language information from Adobe Contirbute CS3 by launching an external editor application like Notepad or Adobe Dreamweaver (in case you have it installed) from within Contribute.
To do so, you may follow the below steps:
    1. Browse to the specific page in Adobe Contribute and then click File > Actions > Edit Page Source In External Application.
Contribute displays the External Application Editing page and starts an external editing application like notepad.
    2. At this moment, you would see the page source code open for editing in Notepad.
    3. You may now make changes as necessary, and then save your changes using File > Save and close the file or application.
    4. Now, Click "Publish" button in Adobe Contribute to publish your changes.
You may also refer the below blog post for a detailed description on this feature.
                       http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2010/05/edit_web_page_source_in_an_ext.html
Please be careful when you edit web page source—you can easily alter style and formatting and get unexpected results. If you are unsure about editing the source directly, talk to your Contribute administrator.
Hope this would helps in asnwering your questions.

    Sharad

  • How do I "Print Booklet" with just odd pages and even pages for duplexing . . options disabled

I have InDesign CS5.5 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine hooked to a Xerox 7750 printer.  I have created a 8.5x11 portrait document and trying to create a booklet on 12x18 sheets.
I need to print duplex manually and so I need to print just the odd spreads and then the even spreads.
I have printed to Adobe PDF and printed from my created PDF file and have it working, but I want to know why InDesign won't let me do it.  When I click "File > Print Booklet > Print Settings" then it shows the Print Dialog box with the Pages section, which includes the Sequence that normally would allow me to do Odd Pages or Even Pages, but it is disabled.  Why?  I can define Print Presets and I can choose Odd Pages, but when I choose that in the Preset box it does not show anything, everything is still disabled.
Anybody have any idea of why it is disabled?  Is it my printer driver?

I too was very frustrated after upgrading to indesign cs5.5 and the latest LION OS on my new MAC.  I missed the odd/even page selection in the print dialog box within Indesign.  I tried about everything and found little of value in various forums.  But I did find a workable solution that makes since in terms of Apple's OS.
My objective is to "impose" my document and also end up with a file that I can just print again and again without "ripping" in the InDesign Print Booklet Dialog.
Here is the quick version of what to do.  I am not including every little step with pictures. =)  (I can if there is interest.)
    1. create your document
    2. Print Booklet
    3. At the first dialog box, just ignore the printer in print preset (you will come back to this) and go to the 2-up perfect bound option and select 16 page signatures.  This will impose 2-up on 4 physical pieces of paper printed both sides.  So 16 of your document pages printed duplex on 4 physical sheets of paper.  It would be nice to then just select the printer and scaling, etc. and the option to print even pages, flip over and then print odd pages but that ain't an option.  If you have different needs, do the math and input the correct numbers before proceeding
    4. Click on Print Settings  to pull up a second dialog box.
    5. Select for Printer PostScript File (not your printer)  Also select for PPD your printer or Adobe PDF 9 if you have that installed.  Don't obsess on this just pick your Printer for the PPD.
    6. Select 1 copy and All Pages while in the General Tab
    7. Select the Setup Tab Here is where you put in the actual physical paper size that you are going to print your document on. Don't scale to fit.  You must do this.  If you feel the need, check out all the tabs and options but for now, you are just trying to get an output file.  You probably do want to select CENTER for page position in this same setup tab.
    8. Hit OK whcih will return you to the original dialog.  Check when you return to be sure that at the top Printer is populated with PostScript File.  Click on Print and give the thing a name and a location to save at the resulting dialog.
Breathe as you are almost home.  You have sucessfully created a file that can be called up again and again without opening InDesign. (albeit, a postscript file but not a problem)
    Now,
    1. Double click on this new file (it will have a .ps extention) or just open it in your PREVIEW (apple supplied utility)   Preview is where you accomplish the even and odd page objective.
    2. Preview will show you a short progress dialog while it rips this postscript file into a PDF.
    3. Click on PRINT
    4. Select your printer, page range, select the Paper Size (again not document size  but  the size sheet that you are printing the 2-up , imposed (booklet) document on. If not in the selection dialog, then use the custom option to create it (custom paper size) and give it a name.
    5. Click on SCALE and insert 100% in place of the weird number that it will insert for you.  You will then see your document correctly displayed in the sidebar preview window.
    6.  OK, now what you have been waiting for. Click on the box that says Preview (the active window) and select Paper Handling from the drop-down and select from Pages to Print the coveted odd or even page selection.  You can also do other things that should have been back at the InDesign print dialog but are now gone.  Explore. Enjoy.
    7.  You will have to work out your own work flow about reverse or no reverse order and how to flip, etc. But you will be working with something predictable at this point.
    8.  Since this has been ripped into a PDF , you might as well Click on the PDF button and click on save as a PDF at this point to save that postscript to PDF rip.   Also print using PREVIEW for the newly created PDF file next time as you will not have to learn a bunch of new dialogs and be frustrated all over again.
I am now back in business printing the book blocks for my handbound journals.

  • OutOfMemoryError:Java Heap Space on JSP with %@page buffer % directive

    Hi guys,
I am developing a large report requires a lot of memory using JSP, therefore I allocated about 4096kb in the JSP as follow:
    ==================================================================
    <%@page contentType="text/html" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%>
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    <%@taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/tags-bean" prefix="bean" %>
    <%@taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/tags-html" prefix="html" %>
    <%@taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/tags-logic" prefix="logic" %>
    <%@page buffer="4096kb" %>
<html>...some work to display report ...</html>
    ==================================================================
The report runs fine but after few retrieves I got the OutOfMemoryError (OOME) and the only way for me to fix it is to restart the web server (tomcat). I went throught few troubleshooting tests and found out if I take out the <%@page buffer="4096kb" %> in the page, the error will go away regardless how much data I am retrieving from database (In another words, if I put this code into a report to retrieve a small data set, I will still get OOME after few tries). I know you can manually enlarge the Java Memory/Heap size, but it will not fix the problem as it will eventually run out of memory anyway. I am wondering is there known bugs relating to manually allocate buffer size for JSP pages? And how can i deal with it if it is a JSP "Bug"? Or there is something else I am doing wrong. (I have tried manually invoke System.gc() but it will not solve the problem)
    any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Thanks for these information, you are truely amazing with amount of knowledge you have and your analytical skills.
    Back to the topic:
    <quote>
Only if you waste time with all the intermediate values that are also too big, and only if you persist in your illusion that you are buying performance with these huge buffers. You aren't. You are buying OutOfMemoryErrors instead.
You do need to realize that your output will be (i) buffered by the socket send buffer, which is only 8k on Windows, and (ii) transmitted in packets of the path MTU, which is less than 1500 bytes in most cases, so this huge buffer can't possibly do you any good - it just adds latency and OutOfMemoryError risk, as I've been telling you.
    </quote>
I don't know which part of my replay does not agree with you that setting the buffer size too large is more of an problem other than a solution, perhaps I miss leaded you somehow.
<quote>That doesn't actually answer the question, does it?</quote>
Well if a page can be complied and retrieved in the first place, is there enough space to create the page/object? Perhaps you can tell me if I am wrong about it and why.
I believe the JspWriter object is stored in heap and heap is break up into few sections. I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure which section it resides but my guess is in Eden Space and that space is just about 4MB in space. But remeber I did my test by changing the buffer size to 2MB which is well under the 4MB, I still get the same error.
<quote>That was what your question was about. OutOfMemoryError using huge buffers. So that's what I focussed on.</quote>
Yes, you did ponting me out that but what you have done is told me not to use it, which I am very happy with. In my older post, I did actually correct myself and made my question more clear by asking
"Why with large JSP buffer size, the retrival of the JSP page chewing up the server memory? Shoudlnt memory be released after the page is retrieved?"
Unfortunitelly I don't think you pointing me anything about it, instead you told me all the reasons not to do it and assuming that I was arguing with you about "it is better to have large buffer jsp size". Again, sorry if I miss leaded you somehow.
Lets put it this way, even with large jsp buffer size (regardless whether we should be doing that or not) if the memory is freed properly, I will not get OOM error. Am I right?
<quote>I take out the <%@page buffer="4096kb" %> in the page, the error will go away</quote>
Yes, but I need to restart my server to make it work. I forgot to mention it, my bad.
Last, I finally found my answer through web and other forumes. The reason of this happening is because my web server did not release the PageContext object properly which JspWriter is linked to, therefore the memory does not get released at all. So ths the issue that chewing up the server memory. Again, thank you for all your help, your suggestion and knowledge did help me find out my answer in the end.

  • "Space Before" Paragraph after Page Break

    Hello,
Here is what I am observing : the "Space Before" setting for paragraph styles is ignored if the paragraph is placed after a page break or on a disconnected page. How do I force InDesign to honour my "Space Before" setting ?
I give you an example : I've created a paragraph style called "Big Title". I've applied this style to section titles and to the index title. I want to lower "Big Title" a few centimeters from the page top, but my "Space Before" setting is ignored. What to do ?

You can force space above a paragraph by creating a non-printing character in the first line of the paragraph, or above it. Two possibilities:
    * Add a reference-page frame above paragraph to the paragraph format, using the Advanced panel of the paragraph designer.
    * Add autonumbering to the paragraph. Set the autonumber format character to a thin space. Create a character format for the autonumber; set its point size tall enough to create the space above. This has the gotcha of indenting the first line by the width of the thin space.
For either of these solutions, check that the space above setting for the format doesn't upset your workaround; if necessary, change the space above to let the workaround manage it.
    HTH

  • Why do I loose page content from a tab when I switch to another tab? I have to refresh to restore the missing page content.

When I have multiple tabs open, I loose some or most of the page display contents when I leave that tab and then come back to it. I have to either refresh the tab to get the full page display back, OR I can click another tab and then quickly click back to the tab with missing page display. This will restore the display of all page content.

Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
[[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]

  • Does anyone know how I can create "facing pages" in new Pages? I could do it in Pages 09, but can't find the option in new Pages.

Does anyone know how I can create "facing pages" in new Pages? I could do it in Pages 09 but can't find the option in new Pages. I have documents created in Pages 09 and want to do some further work on them, but am now using new pages.

There were 100+ features that didn't make it into the "new & improved, rewritten from the ground up” Pages 5. Some have returned with the updates & there are some new features that are worthwhile, but there are still 90+ features missing. Leave feedback for the Pages team using the link in the Pages menu and review & rate the new versions in the Mac App Store.
If you previously had iWork '09, those apps are still in your Applications folder in a folder named iWork '09. You can continue to use them to get things done.

How do I double space a document in Pages. The instruction say to use the Line Spacing control in the format bar, but there is NO Line Spacing control in the drop down menu under Format. I'm writing a novel and I am having to manually double space after every line. It is **** when I am trying to edit my work.

The computer is not too old (and neither are you ).   It may be better if you could upgrade it from 10.5.8 to 10.6 ... but that would not solve this problem.
As both Paul and I have advised ... get yourself on Pages > go to the View menu and halfway down is the option 'Show Inspector'.   You'll end up with a panel like Paul showed you in his post of 08:42.   Let's see what you can do from there.

  • BO Explorer - 404 missing page

We have an Edge standard licence.  BO is installed using all defaults (i.e. WACS).  BO Explorer now installed but url computer-name:6405/polestar returns a missing page.  What is missing from the polestar or BO instal?

    Hi,
Did you get any option to select the Application Server on which you want Explorer to be deployed while installation.
As far as i know, WACS will be considered when the users have the BOE deployed on .Net application server and CMC is not available in .Net. So, to access the CMC a Java based application Server will be used ie, WACS but for other applications it uses the normal .Net application server.
So, check whether the Explorer has been deployed either in IIS or in WACS server.

  • Can a page only have 1 style for all users?

    Portal 3.0.6
I was wondering if there is a way to allow users to apply page styles to their page version of the standard page only. We have a multi-tab page that all users have. I would like the ability for users to select / create new styles for their version of the page without affecting other users. If we grant manage style on the page they can modify the style, but it effects all users which is no good. Also, we are constantly announcing new portlets, so we cannot have the user copy the default page to their own.
    So the short question is:
Can a page only have 1 style for all users?
    Thanks,
    Tom Hillson
    null

There is an option on setting a style for a page to use the User's default style. User's can create a style and set it as their default through the Navigator. Any page with the user's default style selected will pick up that style or if the user doesn't have a default, it will fall back on the overall portal default set in global settings.
