Spacing between jsp struts tags

I have the following jsp code that contains three buttons and a link to a page.
The three buttons are located at the end of a jsp form (left-hand-side). I want the link to be located on the right-hand-side bottom of the form, that is I want spacing between the last button and the link. (without spacing between buttons themselves).
here's the code:
<tr height="50">
<td colspan="5">
<nobr>
<table>
<tr>
<td align="left">
<html:submit property="submitButton" styleClass="button" value="Get Report" onclick="return(doReportSubmit(document.searchReportForm, 'report', 1));"/>
<html:submit property="submitButton" styleClass="button" value="Create Spreadsheet" onclick="return(doReportSubmit(document.searchReportForm,'spread', 1));"/>
<logic:equal scope="session" name="user" property="role" value="administrator">
<html:submit property="submitButton" value="Edit View" styleClass="button"/>
</logic:equal>
<logic:equal scope="session" name="user" property="role" value="administrator">
<a href="javascript:popUp('pages/searchEngineInfo.htm');"> View Page Info </a>
</logic:equal>
</nobr>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>my three buttons: Get Report, Create Stylesheet, and Edit View
my link: View Page Info
Does anybody know how to do this?

Thank you! I tried your solution and now I almost have what I wanted.
Only, the link is located on a line after the buttons. Is there any way I can have them on the same line?
Please help me out.
Here's what my code looks like now:
<tr height="50">
<td colspan="5">
<nobr>
<html:submit property="submitButton" styleClass="button" value="Get Report"
onclick="return(doReportSubmit(document.searchReportForm, 'report', 1));"/>
<html:submit property="submitButton" styleClass="button" value="Create Spreadsheet" onclick="return(doReportSubmit(document.searchReportForm,'spread', 1));"/>
<logic:equal scope="session" name="user" property="role" value="administrator">
<html:submit property="submitButton" value="Edit View styleClass="button" onclick="return(doReportSubmit(document.searchReportForm,'view', 1));"/>
</logic:equal>
<logic:equal scope="session" name="user" property="role" value="administrator">
<span style="float:right"><a href="javascript:popUp('pages/searchEngineInfo.htm');"> View Page Info </a></span>
</logic:equal>
</nobr>
</td>
</tr>

  • Is there any difference between "jsp:useBean" and "scriptlet" ?

    A few days ago, I asked similar question. But I didn't get the answer I wanted.
    I want to know the differnce between <jsp:useBean../> and <% .. %>(scriptlet).
    I tested in three environments(Oracle Jserv, OC4J, and Apache Tomcat).
    In Oracle Jserv and OC4J, a problem occured. But, Apache Tomcat does not occur a problem.
    For example,
    1) TestClass.java (Bean)
    public class TestClass {
    private String txt;
    public class TestClass {
    txt = "Test"; ----- (g
    public String getTxt() {
    return txt;
    2) test.jsp
    <html><body>
    <% TestClass test = new TestClass(); %> ---(h
    <%= test.getTxt() %>
    </body></html>
    Assume that I visit "http://localhost:8888/test.jsp".
    In Tomcat, if I change "Test"(number(g) to "Test1" and compile the browser shows the change.
    But Oracle Jserv and OC4J does not do that. They also show the old String.
    So, I changed <% TestClass test = new TestClass(); %>(number(h) to <jsp:useBean id="test" class="TestClass" />. That is, I changed "Scriptlet" to "JSP useBean Tag".
    Then, Oracle Jserv and OC4J also show the changes.
    To conclude, is there any difference between "JSP useBean Tag" and "Scriptlet"?
    Can't I use a scriptlet (to make a class) in Oracle Servlet Engine?
    Thanks.

    It could be as simple as the JSP not recompiling between java recompiles - ie, it compiles in the link to the old class.
    Try changing the JSP file (add and delete a space) after you change the java code, and then see what happens.

  • Passing struts-tag value to java / javascript variable in JSP

    Hello all,
    Im trying to pass the value got from the struts-tag to the java variable in the Jsp. However Im not able to get the o/p. Can u guys help me on this pls...
    <logic:notEmpty name="TreeBean" property="list">
        <logic:iterate id="Type" name="TreeBean" property="list" indexId="i">
         <br/><bean:write name="Type" />
        </logic:iterate>
    </logic:notEmpty>Here the list can be populated in the jsp page. However i want the values into jsp list. Im not able to populate the same..
    <% List jspList = null;
    %> I want the values into the jspList variable for further processing. Can u guz pls help me on this....

    Which do you want it in?
    A java variable for use in <% scriptlet code %> or a javascript variable for use on the client end?
    scriptlet:
    <jsp:useBean id="TreeBean" type="java.util.List" class="java.util.ArrayList" scope="?????" />
    Having scriptlet code on the page is considered bad coding style.
    What is it you are trying to accomplish by making the value accessible?
    What are you trying to do in java / javascript that can't be done with JSP tags?

  • Struts tag for request.setAttribute() in a jsp page

    Hello All
    Does anyone know struts tag that can be used for request.setAttribute() in a jsp page?
    Thanx in advance.

    Well
    <bean:define id="foo" name="newsIdAttribute" scope="request" type="java.lang.String" />is equivalent to
    <%
    (java.lang.String) foo = (java.lang.String)request.getAttribute("newsIdAttribute");
    %for setting bean properties you might have to use
    <jsp:setProperty/> or <c:set/> tags in JSP / JSTL respectively.
    Hope this might answer your question :)

  • JDeveloper editing JSP with Struts tags terribly, terribly slow!?

    I use JDeveloper 10.1.2 and I do not know the reason but it started to take 15min just to change/edit JSP containing Struts tags. RAM memory is 1GB and there is more than 0.5 GB available, but processor usage shows 100% allocated to JDeveloper!? As soon as I do even slight change in a JSP file JDeveloper starts some computations and I have no idea of what it is doing.
    What is JDeveloper computing? It seems it tries to produce some drop-down lists "helping" me to do the editing, add tags and instead I am spending days to just change one small JSP page!
    How can I stop and PREVENT JDeveloper doing ANY "help" during editing of ANY file?
    There must be an option to switch off whatever JDeveloper is doing?
    Many thanks,

    I did that but it is still very slow, it looks like Jdev is doing some intensive calculations whenever I click somewhere on JSP page with tags. Maybe this is related with my other question I posted before this one? Maybe JDev automatically searches for tag libraries it cannot find and copies them to /WEB-INF directory? (other IDEs used in same environment, like Eclipse and IntelliJ, and they do not have this problem)
    Some other strange things: struts-config.xml seems not integrated with CVS from JDev (other files like tiles-config.xml, web.xml etc. are integrated, I can right click and get CVS info on particular file, except struts-config.xml). When I want to check in/out struts-config.xml I have to do it with external tool like WinCVS etc., cannot do that from JDev!

  • Help: OJSPC can not compile the JSP with struts tag

    Hi,
    I am trying to precompile the JSP page with EAR package but OJSPC can not parse the Struts tags.
    I always get oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseException:
    Error: org.apache.struts.taglib.html.MessgesTei while reading TLD /WEB-INF/tld/struts-html.tld
    My OC4J version is 10.1.3.2 and I did tried putting the struts-taglib.jar to /opt/oracle/product/app10g/j2ee/home/jsp/lib or /lib/taglib
    but still do not work.
    Can anyone tell me how to configure the OJSPC and let it support customerized taglibs?
    Thanks a lot!

    This is a new problem with jdk1.4 when compiling with tomcat.
    The solution is to ensure that any classes in WEB-INF/classes are in a package structure and the relevant jsp calls the same using the package name.

  • Nesting a BC4J JSP data tag within a Struts tag?

    Has anybody tried nesting a BC4J JSP data tag within a Struts JSP tag? I can't get it to work. For example,
    <logic:equal name="sort" value="<jbo:ShowDefinition datasource='ds' dataitem='CustomerName' definition='ColumnName' />">
    blah blah blah
    </logic:equal>

    Try using single quotes in the value=' ' and double quotes in the jbo tag usage.

    hi guys
    i have just started programming using j2ee technology.

    There really isn't one. The JSP forward tag is a convenience tag for JSP, that uses the response method.

  • Spacing between portlets

    Hi, I am new to portal and sorry if this is a silly question. How can I remove the spacing between the portlets?
    In fact, whenI design my pages, should I insert the page elements as JSP/HTML portlets, if so, I need to remove the
    spacing between them.
    If there are other approaches, please help. Maybe overriding skeleton for each page?

    You create a custom look and feel (or modify an existing one) .You will need to modify some areas of the skeleton as well the CSS in the skin to get the HTML as you want it.
    If you choose an existing skeleton , ensure that you check the generated HTML and check the extra tags that the framework outputs and plan your CSS (and your mock html) accordingly

  • Whats the difference between *.jsp and *.jspx

    Hi
    When I create a new jsf page the first step prompts me for the "type". I am wondering what is the difference between JSP Page and JSP Document? Which should I be using? Are there any white papers or documents that explain the advantages of each?
    Also, someone suggested that I use Facelets, has anyone else used these from inside jdeveloper? Any thoughts / tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    troy

    JSPX uses an XML doument for you page code - it is the way we recommend you build your page. Makes for cleaner code and easier customization.
    JSP uses HTML with embedded JSF tags in it.
