Spam addresses end up in my address book

I'm getting spam addresses added to my address book. How does this happen?

I was just thinking that if someone or some software agent is accessing your computer then they also have access to saved passwords if for instance it is webmail and the password is stored on Firefox, or if you store logins and passwords in any other utility.

An obvious thing to do is also make sure you log out of email and do not leave yourself logged in or use the remember me option.

What are the emails ? do they make sense, are they also sent to others ? and of course is it likely anyone else is using your computer and sending these emails.

it is probably worth contacting them again, give a couple of examples of the emails you are referring to and tell them that you yourself did not type those emails. Ask if they can explain how this may have happened.

Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account.

How can I block spam e-mail when the "from address" keeps changing?

How can I block a spam mail sender when that spamer uses a different e-mail address everytime! I have set up a rule with the spamers name (which does not change) and setting the rule to "is equal to" but it is not working.

How can I block spam text messages from an email address?

Twice per week I am getting spam texts in the middle of the night from a random email address, in reference to a free Target gift card. The problem is, the sender's email address is different every time. Any ideas how to make it stop??

That was one of the first things I did when starting my current account with Verizon Wireless. I blocked all premium messages and messages from the Internet. Those blocks are still in place to this day.

Unsolicited explicit spam email to an iCloud email address

I've been getting explicit spam email to my iCloud email address from a site in the USA for over a month. And no I haven't signed up for something and am not admitting it............and I'm in Australia so any "benefits" of the site are a long way away.
I've tried contacting the sender but because I've never used the iCloud account (my email is a me.com account) it's being rejected.
How can I delete the iCloud side of my without affecting the me.com email address ?
I believe that the iCloud user name may well exist with someone else in the USA because I've been told that is possible - anyone else know this ?
Any advice welcome...it's ceased being funny.

If it's always from the same sender, set up an email rule on icloud.com to send email from the sender to the trash. This explains how to set up an email rule: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a.

'Other Address List' not showing in Address Book

I'm trying to create an customized address list that will appear in the address book. I've placed the contacts into a contacts folder, and placed this contacts folder into a .pst file. This way, I can distribute this .pst file for others to use the same
address list.
I'm aware that I have to tick 'Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book', under the properties of the contact folder.
This address book does show up under 'Other Address List' -> name of the address book, when we look at the address book drop down list. This is when I only have 1 email account under the same Outlook profile.
When I have more than 1 email account under the same Outlook profile, this address list shows itself under the 2nd email account, and not 'Other Address List'.
Is this by design or could it be a bug? Is there a way to fix this / any workarounds? Thank you!
FYI I am waiting for verification of my account as I can't post pictures or links. I've already completed verification by clicking the link. Maybe there's a delay somewhere.

I tested this issue and I can reproduce it in my environment. However, as far as I know, this behavior won't affect the usage of the address book.

Is there a way to prevent Robohelp WebHelp from appending characters to the end of the URL address for a TOC Entry?

I am running RoboHelp 10 on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64 bit OS.
WebHelp is appending characters to the end of the TOC entry's URL address. The characters "bc-n" where n is a number are being generated for all of the TOC Page Entries when I generate WebHelp output. We are exporting the HTML files for import into an application. The TOC Page Properties Link to: property does not contain the characters in RoboHelp.
We have standardized names defined for our application and the appended characters are not going to work in the application.

When I use the generated html output in IE10 Version 10.0.9200.16635 Update Versions: 10.0.7 (KB2846071) the characters show up in the URL when I hover the mouse over the TOC entry as shown in the screenshot below.

The two screenshots show that the Link to property does not have the characters "bc-7" but the URL address does.
Is there a setting or way to configure RoboHelp to prevent Robohelp WebHelp from generating and appending characters to the end of the URL address for TOC Entries?

I have never known Rh add any characters so I think something else is at play here. Please open one of the sample projects and see what happens there. Click Open on the RoboHelp Starter page and then click Samples in the ribbon on the left.

IP Address Ending in Zero

Today the light on my Airport Express began flashing amber and when I launched the Airport Utility, it indicated that the device was unable to obtain a valid IP Address. I looked under Internet -> TCP/IP and the Gateway and DNS Servers had valid IPs, but the IP address of the device has been assigned a link-local 169.254 address, which usually means that DHCP failed to respond. So I unplugged the Airport and hooked up my computer directly to the DSL modem. My computer received the same Gateway and DNS addresses along with a valid public IP. The only oddity was that the public IP ended in zero. Next I dragged out my old wired router. It also received the same x.x.x.0 IP address and worked fine. Then I hooked up the Airport and once again got a valid gateway IP but it failed to assign an IP to the device. I manually entered the IP ending in .0 and it worked, then went back to DHCP and it failed once more. Finally, I reset the modem, received a new IP that didn't end in zero, and the Airport was happy. Does the Airport not support IP addresses ending in zero? It used to be uncommon to assign these out, but with IPs in short supply, ISPs are doing everything they can to make the most of what's left.
I was going to contact Apple Support, but the site is claiming that my complimentary support has expired even though I purchased the device within the past 90 days. I don't feel that I should have to pay Apple to inform them that their product is buggy.

IPs ending in zero are sometimes acceptable to assign and sometimes they aren't. It depends on whether or not it is the network identifier. If my IP was the network identifier, then AT&T is to blame, not Apple. Looking up info about the netblock, I found the following.
SBC-108-68-140-0-22-1009261615 (NET-108-68-140-0-1)
108.68.140.0 - 108.68.143.255
If I'm not mistaken, it should be acceptable to hand out IP addresses ending in zero besides 108.68.140.0, which was not my IP at the time.

Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

When I try to add an email address (by clicking on the address and slecting the 'Add to Address book' option the email addrss does not stay in my address book

When adding an email address to my address book often it will stay in the address book until I close Thunderbird then it disappears and it won't pop up as a valid address when I am composing a note.

This usually means that the address book data file is corrupt.
I'd suggest you export your misbehaving address book to an LDIF file, delete the original address book then re-import its data from the LDIF file.
Note that you won't be allowed to delete either ''Personal Address Book'' (PAB) nor ''Collected Addresses'' (CA) within Thunderbird. You'll have to close Thunderbird, open its profile and delete:
''abook.mab'' for PAB, or
''history.mab'' for CA.
When you next run Thunderbird, it'll create a new empty address book to replace the one you deleted. Import your address to a new temporary address book, then move the Contacts (drag-and-drop) into the preferred address book.

The SAPscript address command makes an internal call to the function module ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM, but I'm not sure if you can debug it from the SAPscript debugger. You can however run the function module from se37 to test how the logic is working for your parameters. Lines Specifies how many lines may be used for formatting the address. If there are too few lines available to allow all the address data to be formatted, then the data specified in the PRIORITY parameter are omitted. If there is no LINES parameter and if this command is in a form window of a type other than MAIN, then the number of lines available for formatting the address are automatically calculated based on the current output position and the size of the window.

I cannot send emails to email addresses which are in my address book.

I have only my me.com account on my iPhone and I can't send emails to addresses which are in my address book. I can only send emails to addresses which aren't in my address book.
Why?

hmm. Can you explain more. Did you put those characters in or did they contacts become corrupt? I'm having a Send problem. I pull up a Contact and type the email and hit Send and the whole email disappears. Not found in Sent Folder, nowhere. Happened 3 times in a row yesterday but had no problem replying to emails at the same time.

Has anybody else experienced a problem with sending email to addresses ending with co.uk. I use mobile me and sync to outlook 2007. My iphone will allow me to create, forward and reply to all my emails ending in .com but if I try to send to an email ending in .co.uk it refuses to send and states invalid recipient address. However, I know the address is correct. I have tried this on a number of .co.uk email addresses and it does the same with them all
Any ideas, solutions
