Spam blocker for email

I have a spam blocker on my Microsoft laptop but the spam still ends up on my Ipad. Is there an app for spam blocking?

You'll need to check with your email provider about what server-side spam blocking they offer. I use Gmail and rarely see any spam.

Anyone know how to block spam ads from email accounts? I have both work and personal email accounts--spam only coming in on on personal. I've installed Lookout Mobile Security, but doesn't stop the 7-10 product ads per day from coming into my inbox. Verizon tech assistance was courteous and helpful, but wrong. They're the ones who told me to install Lookout Mobile Security. It may work for antivirus, but doesn't stop spam.

Spam Protection for Email showing Critical for Exchange Server 2007 after installing Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange

Hi there,
I have SBS 2008, and I have recently installed Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange version 7.5 but when I take a look on Windows SBS Console under Security, it shows "Spam Protection for Email Critical Exchange Server 2007" However,
when I open the SMSME it shows running well with no problem..
Any Suggestions???

Spam filter for email server

Depends on what you want to pay. There are various ways of doing this.
1. block at your firewall. I have a watchguard and this acts as my first line of defense.
2. Install an app on your mail server - I have Symantic for Exchange as my second line
but then you can go and signup to outside organisations such as messagelabs to handle all your filtering for you.

im running postfix+dovecot for an email server and i want a spam filter to go infront of postfix so it can filter out spam before it gets anywhere near my email server
also i imagine with spam filters you can set your own spam policies and allow good senders and block bad senders

Spam blockers for email addresses?

Can anyone tell me what they use to block the bots from picking up email addresses that I'd like to add to a site? I can't seem to find an Extension that is new enough for CS5. I'm not a coding person, or I'd do it that way.

It's been awhile since I last visited. Good to be back. I have a problem with spam on my @me.com account, is there any way to convert this into an @icloud.com account so I can relieve myself of this problem. As we speak I am staring at 996 emails with the vast majority of them being spam(I really hate my brother!). I would hate to lose all my purchased content because of this problem. If Apple would allow me to change my primary Apple ID email account I could resolve it that way as well. On the AppleID site you only get options to add alternate email addresses.

Best Hosting Service For Email/Website (#spam issues)

I've been using GoDaddy for webhosting and email hosting for a few years.
I've been having spam issues with every site and email I've setup with them. It's apparently a notorious issue with GoDaddy specifically, you can find loads of threads on it all over the net and GoDaddy closes the threads that people start on their own help forums.
I do nothing that could cause spam triggers. I don't send out mass emails, no subscriptions, newsletters, no links, nothing. Its literally nothing but responding to customer inquiries and VERY often they go directly to their spam/junk folders which of course is very very bad.
Can anyone recommend the best hosting service so this does not happen? Or anything I can do to help the situation? I have no problem paying a premium monthly for something that will guarantee (or at least as much as possible) that my mail actually gets delivered.
Is there any hosting service or service in general that is considered the best of the best?

Never heard that there was a specific problem with GoDaddy and spam.
Spam is a fact of life. Getting your mail delivered has nothing to do with spam.
If you use Mail and a POP account fro getting your mail, try something like SpamSieve, this will eliminate about 99% of spam in short order.
Gmail has a fairly good spam filtering for email only. You could change email accounts and not rely on GoDaddys email service, just set it up so it forwards to a gmail account to take advantage of their filtering/

I Use an I pad and iPhone for gmail . how do I block spam and unwanted commercial emails. can I set filters as I do when using my MacBook Pro?
I don't see the same "more" bottom on these devices. Please help.

deggie is 100% right, you must do it at gMail-webMail from a web browser. Your iPad will probably be easiest.
FYI, gMail is responsible for filtering SPAM. Your iDevices merely check your webMail's INBOX for unread messages. If SPAM gets there, it means gMail is not recognizing the messages as such. You should be able to block individual eMail addresses there as well, for the ones that are slipping through the cracks.

Suggestions for Email-Only Host?

I'm building a new, improved version of my website with iWeb and will be publishing it with my domain name. My old website under that name on another web host. My current host also hosts my domain name email accounts. And here's the problem with the switch- iWeb doesn't support custom-named email accounts.
Does anyone have suggestions where I could host just my email? (My domain is registered with Network Solutions and they said it's perfectly fine to have the website and email hosted on different servers.) I could keep the email on the old site, but it's $12/month...I was hoping to find something cheaper. I've heard that Google Aps will host your email for free. Anyone have experience with them? Any other ideas??

I ended up with so many sites on my server that it would take me forever to go round all the individual web mail boxes to check them.
Now I have a Gmail address for each one and pick them all up in Mac Mail - much easier!
Gmail has a good spam blocker and the "notifier" is pretty neat.

Hello, we've been trying unsuccessfully to get "unblocked" by AT&T for OVER A YEAR, using the online tool to report the issue through the administrator portal. Is there a chance I can get a real person to review this and help? If there's more work to be done on our side, we're willing. Block outgoing email because of VPN server

We have Cisco VPN on ASA for over 4 years. Recently, barracudacentral.org blocks our outgoing email because of these reasons: •Your email server contains a virus and has been sending out spam. •Your email server may be misconfigured. •Your PC may be infected with a virus or botnet software program. •Someone in your organization may have a PC infected with a virus or botnet program. •You may be utilizing a dynamic IP address which was previously utilized by a known spammer. •Your marketing department may be sending out bulk emails that do not comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. •You may have an insecure wireless network which is allowing unknown users to use your network to send spam. •In some rare cases, your recipient's Barracuda Spam Firewall may be misconfigured. im suffering with lots of spam emails from several websites, ive found out how to automatically delete specific emails from specific email addresses, ie [email protected] but i get lots of spam from various names at the same website. so is it possible to block all emails from example spammer.com??

ICloud is blocking valid emails

I found some information about troubleshooting false-positives in the iCloud junk mailbox:
Troubleshooting false-positives
Due to the complexity of accurately detecting and filtering out spam, on rare occasions a legitimate email from a friendly source may be blocked from reaching your Inbox. This is called a false-positive. If you feel that a legitimate email message was inadvertently filtered, you may want to ask your friend to send a follow up email to verify the issue exists before contacting support. If you notice that multiple email messages are being delayed, bounced, or not delivered, please contact iCloud Support directly.
Also make sure to check your Junk folder for email messages that were incorrectly marked as spam. To check your Junk folder from iCloud.com, choose the Mail application and click the Junk folder in the sidebar.
Note: Email messages in the Junk folder are automatically deleted after 30 days.
