Spam email sent from my BT mail account
My email account appears to be sending rogue emails to my contacts list.
I first noticed the problem several months ago, BT NetProtect scans and malwarebites didnt detect anything.
I changed my password which seemed to work for a while but then same thing happened, my contacts list received a rogue email with a link.
I recently re-installed windows on my 2 p.c's hoping this would resolve the issue, but after a couple of weeks the same thing has just happened.
The last spam email sent emails to everyone from my old conatcts list, even though I had deleted all the contacts after the recent windows re-install.
I have looked at the 'Delivery Failure' emails and the header does contain my email address.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Spam emails sent from my contacts
Recently 2 sets of spam emails were sent using my email address to people in my contact list. All reciepients were in my contact list, my mail sent box does not show these emails as outbound from my computer. The only other option is it was from my BlackBerry curve.
Is there malware or a virus that could have sent them form my iMac?It is very very unlikey that this happened because of some malware on your mac. There are no viruses on macs . It is most likely that someone hacked into your email provider. It hasn't happened to me, but I know of a lot of people that has happend to. You should probably contact your email provider to get more details. also, check on the links to the threads listed in the box on the right "More Like This". Some of them may be a little bit dated, but might give you some helpful information as well.

Spam emails sent from my address book
I am being told by people in my address book that they are receiving emails that look as if they're from me but I've never sent them. All of the emails encourage the recipient to click on a link. The emails also have a signature that it was sent from Verizon Mobile. How can I stop this?
Change you password and secret question and run a virus scan.

Spam being sent from my Mail account...
I am receiving e-mails in my Mail account saying that certain messages can not be sent and the message gives the reason but they are being sent by other names, not my own, using my e-mail address. I went and changed my password in icloud.com but the very next day, the same thing happened. How can I get this to stop. Messages being sent from my e-mail account by others that are not me?
Yes, I read in another post that if it was actually sent from my account, I would see the e-mails in my Sent folder which I do not and that someone just forged where the e-mails were sent from and there is nothing that can be done about that except to bacically ignore them. There are not too many of them anyways.
Thank you for your answer. -
One Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from .mac
OK, this is an odd problem, and any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend's Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from my .mac address. If I send email from my Gmail or Yahoo! accounts she receives the message. No one else has informed me that they haven't received email from the .mac address. Additionally, the .mac account is in her address book.
Anyway, has anyone seen a similar pattern with Yahoo! or any other email provider?
Thanks.
- JenningsThanks for the reply . . . and yes, the recipient's email provider likely holds the answer.
However, I was hoping someone here might have had a similar experience and could answer as the email provider is Yahoo, and they are slow in responding to help requests . . . for a period I hosted a personal, paid website through Yahoo Domains and help tickets lingered for several days on multiple occasions (this being the reason the site is no longer hosted by Yahoo). I also doubt Yahoo will expend too much energy resolving a problem for a free email account.
Anyway, I posted in the Yahoo mail forums, and hopefully something will come-up . . . . -
I have iphone 4s with several email accounts set up. For one of these accounts, and only one, test emails sent from phone come thru fine. But computer generated mail doesn't come to phone. For test messages phone shows "receiving" but nothing comes to inbox. External sent mail does not come to phone inbox, but does to outlook on computer. Have checked settings and these seem correct. What's up? Four other accounts work fine.
If you can send e-mail when on WiFi from home, but not when on 3G, that indicates your email provider is blocking e-mail being sent from outside their network. This is done to control Spam. ISPs who do this will usually have a separate SMTP server that should be used when using a mobile device. Check with them again.

Email sent from blackberry on AT&T (BIS setup) are being flagged as spam
I am not sure why this only occurs on at&t but email sent from those blackberries on are being marked as spam by our spam filter. The do not seem to pass the AWL spam test. Email sent from verizon, telus, and t-mobile get flagged for AWL and do not get marked as spam.
Any ideas on how to fix?
example:
Sent from t-mobile:
X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.979 tagged_above=-999 required=3 tests=AWL, BAYES_00, FORGEDRCVDHELO, MIMEBASE64BLANKS, MIMEBASE64_NONAME, MIMEBASE64TEXT, PRIORITYNONAME
Sent from at&t:
X-Spam-Status: Yes, hits=3.248 tagged_above=-999 required=3 tests=BAYES_00, FORGEDRCVDHELO, MIMEBASE64BLANKS, MIMEBASE64_NONAME, MIMEBASE64TEXT, PRIORITYNONAMEMaybe the sender e-mail address is modified by AT&T during the mail submission. Otherwise try sending some test message from the mail client to the AT&T mail account and vice versa. But usually one message should be sufficient to learn.
You also have set a low value for spam marking. It is recommended to set it to five. Should you get through too many spam mails, you can train the spam filter (bayes in fact) and also adjust some scores to match your needs. -
The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks!
CharlesI figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."

Email sent from iPad main account arrives from gmail address
Email sent from iPad main account arrives from gmail address
I have solved this. The main account SMTP setting was wrong so it was using the next outgoing mail server available which was Gmail. Disabling Gmail as an alternative highlighted that the main one was wrong. I fixed the main SMPTP outgoing server address and all now working. Hope this helps.

My mac has started sending yahoo emails out as if they were being sent from an old gmail account I haven't used in years. Why has this just started happening?
It is important to understand that Mail uses TWO servers, a Receiving Server and a Sending Server.
When you create a new mail message, or reply to a message, the Sender server is shown in the message composition window like this:
That drop-down window allows you to select which of the Sending Servers you previously set up should be used.
In general, once you choose a Sending server, its choice will "stick" for all future replies to messages from that Receiving mailbox. -
Is it possible to get my email folders from my iMac mail tool up to my icloud account?
Is it possible to get my email folders from my iMac mail tool up to my icloud account?
I would like to access my mail tool folders while I am traveling overseas with my ipad.
Alternately, is it possible to get my mail tool folders onto my ipad?
imac: Mac OS X Version 10.7.5
mail tool: Version 5.3Your iCloud cannot access other accounts. You can set up the Mail app on your iPad to access other accounts just the same as on your Mac - the only issue might be with the ISP who provides your internet connection, as some services require you to be actually connected to them to send, and possibly even to receive though that would be more unusal.
If any of your other accounts provide webmail you could use that.
Otherwise you could set up forwarding on the other accounts so that messages are sent on to your iCloud account (I should set it to leave a copy on the original server) - however you cannot send using anything other than your iCloud email address as the 'From' address using iCloud outgoing server.
As to existing messages, if the account is IMAP then the messages can be accessed from any device that signs into the account; if the account is POP then received messages live on your Mac. You can copy them up to iCloud in the Mail application on your Mac by creating a new folder or folders on iCloud and then dragging the messages to these folders - hold the option key down to retain the messages on your Mac and duplicate them to iCloud. Move messages, not folders, and don't try to move a huge amount at a time. Remember that they will take up space on your iCloud account. -
Cannot sort emails sent from Mail App and Exchange
When trying to sort emails on Outlook in Windows, lets say by "Flag", emails coming from a mac using mail app and exchange get placed at the top of the list.
Have tried sending emails from the same account via webmail and iphone and they get sorted correctly.
Anyone has had this problem? So, Here's what happens:
1) Send email from Laptop (Snow Leopard) with Exchange Integration
2) Send email from iPhone (3.1) with Exchange Integration
In Outlook 2003 sort by flag (neither of these messages are flagged). Any email sent from the Snow Leopard is sorted first in the Unflagged category in Outlook. Any of the email sent from the iPhone is sorted normally.
There's no differences in the headers to cause these to sort differently. The only headers that differ are the Date, Subject/Thread-Topic, Thread-Index, Message-ID, x-ems-stamp. But, in the Message-ID it has the same domain.
Both Snow Leopard and iPhone are configured to use the same Exchange OWA/OWS.

Why doesn't email sent from iPhoto v9.4.3 show in my "Sent" mail?
1. Why doesn't email sent from iPhoto v9.4.3 show in my "Sent" mail?
2. Why does it always ask for a password before sending, when I'm already logged in?If you are using the iPhoto email client there is no sent mail box
My suggestion is to set Mail as your email client and then you have everythin in Mail and have a sent mail box

Can I download emails from a web mail account? If so how? thank you?
How can I download emails from a web mail account into Thunderbird please
If the account can be set up with programs like TB, simply add the account, starting from File/New(or AppMenu/New Message)/Existing Mail Account. If TB doesn't detect the right settings, enter them manually according to the account provider's requirements. If the provide offers IMAP access, all of the webmail folders will be downloaded. If POP only is offered, the Inbox will be downloaded.
