Spam filter never learns to filter most addresses

Repeatedly, day after day, I have marked emails from certain addresses as spam but the next day they are back in my inbox. My Verizon Yahoo account learned these immediately. I hate wading through more spam than necessary. Why is the spam filter not working properly yet?

You might have better luck setting up a filter and/or adding the address(es) to your Blocked Senders list. The Spam Detector doesn't block based on sender, but on content of the message.

To tell me to mark it as spam is just not good enough. I do not want this rubbish cluttering my inbox.

Nobody want to receive spam, but it's a fact of life. Apple is certainly not selling your address on to spammers, and it's possible that the spammer has been guessing at possible addresses and has hit on yours.
A good third-party program for dealing with spam is SpamSieve - after a training period it's very good at identifying spam and shunting it to a Spam folder where you can check it and delete at your leisure. It works with iCloud.

Trying to convert a Lower HID Keyboard Filter to an Upper filter above kbdhid

A few months ago I solicited some help regarding writing a filter for a USB/HID keyboard. Thanks to all who gave help especially DH. It does work and I can even get diagnostic feed back from it.
Unfortunately, it seems to lack the flexibility I required. It is loaded as a lower filter below kbdhid. I do get the HID keyboard reports, but I can only change that single report. I want to be able
to insert an additional keyboard report ( I want to be able to send another key with it's own modifiers). I don't see/know how to do it. Here are a couple of options I thought about, but I don't know how to implement either one:
1)
It seems to me that one option would be to some how get the kbdhid driver to request a second read from the keyboard WITHOUT an actual keystroke occurring. Presumably it would be identical to the first one since the pressed keys hasn't changed
in that brief time. But, then using this second report one I could change it to insert the desired key/modifier.
2)
Another option might be to use an upper filter between kbdhid and kbdclass. (It would have to be before the I8042 to the kbdclass input because we already have an upper filter for the kbdclass that filter keystroke from a PS/2 keyboard. )
I have tried moving the existing, functional HID filter from a lower filter to an upper filter. It does load and devcon shows it to be an upper filter above kbdhid. Debug diagnostics show that DriverEntry gets call and that the EvtIoDeviceControl
routine gets called a few times initially, just like when it was a lower filter.
However, the EvtIoRead and EvtIoWrite routines never get called, let alone the ReadCompletion routine.
Obviously there is something different between lower and upper filters, but what. Do they take the same callback routines/protocols?
Also is the output of the kbdhid in HID keyboard report format or has it changed to the KEYBOARD_INPUT_DATA format.
How can I capture HID keyboard data after kbdhid?

the way to make this work with your current setup is to queue the read request kbdhid sends and then send down your own request. When you want to report a new key outside of the hw reporting, you complete the queued read with the data. This gets complex
if the read you send down completes before kbdhid can send another read

Wht is the format/syntax of specifying IP addresses in the Src Addr filter and Dst Addr filter fileds of any signature?
Can i put a subnet, multiple subnets etc ? any syntax examples?

The problem was solved by Apple Technical Help. The process is as flollows:
1. Open Safari
2. Menu item Safari-Reset Safari - remove all website data - reset
3. Now if you try to login on iTunes connect it will work.

Help! Getting spam - to "another name" -at my mac address

I am receiving emails that are spam - they are to my dot mac address but they are to other different people ie the last one is to Stan.N.Bass<[email protected]>
How can Stan N Bass do this on my account? Has it been virused? or should I change my dot mac password? Its not only his name but others too so I htik my account has been compromised. Is be very grateful for any advice please!

The information in the To header has no necessary relationship with the email address that the message is delivered to. It could have To: [email protected] and still be delivered to you at mac.com - the email address to be used for delivery is passed separately to the mail system, and the address in the To header is not looked at and so can be anything. Often of course the two are the same.
This is not an indication that your account has been compromised.

How to filter mail from an unknown ip address?

I keep getting spam from different email addresses, and different ip addresses that have a common look and feel. They generally are sent from some made up name, from some made up host, and have a one line description like "Save Money today, just go to this link: http://BLAH.com". What I find is that the in the long header "received from" usually identifies "unknown" as part of the host. I use dreamhost and they generally mark ip addresses that they don't know as 'unknown'. Can I use this in a email filter to eliminated all received email from an unknown IP address?

Yes, absolutely! But this particular message not only fails the junk mail tests, but I also have spam sieve installed and it fails spam sieve. Remember that it has a made up return path, so it's only the intermediate receiver that knows it's from an unknown IP address, I've taken out the to: and CC:

Servlet Filter never gets called

I have a filter configured in web.xml to run on hitting the /welcome.jsf(forward, request).
I want to update a statistics table with the hit count for login. But the servlet is not getting called.
In the debugger, it never stops there and the statistics table never gets updated.

Apply a content filter to a group of sender addresses

I want to setup a content filter that does a certain action but I want the condition to be if the message came from an email address in a list of source addresses. I seem to only be able to apply one. I really dont want to have to create 200 condition statments just to match someone in a list or addresses. Cant use an LDAP becuase these are incoming addresses so they dont appear in my LDAP
Any idea?

I'm not in a position to experiment, but am wondering if an LDAP query could pick up other types of address from a directory. If your backoffice mail server is Exchange, could a query pick up an address from a Contact object?

Spam is being sent with my email address on it!

I get a few spam messages re drugs every day. What concerns me is that they may be using my email address to send these messages to others. How do I stop them from posting messages with my email address on them? How do I deal with this? Any hints?

Once a spammer has your email address that is pretty much end of it. Nothing you can do other make a main account email address for only important things and use the other free email address until they get spammed like this and delete them. then start a new email.
Another option is to use Gmail and use it as a spam filter in a way. Use Gmail to read and send emails, but make it forward only the emails you want to you verizon email address.
Stay clear from Env3 and Env Touch. They are sub-par due to many software problems that need addressed. The consumer is the guinea pig in this lab experiment they want to call a 'cellphone'......

Can I add a third party filter (ASFROC) to the filter sub-folder of Photoshop Elements 13?

I have been using a third party filter (Applied Science fiction R-O-C (now Kodak)) with Photoshop elements 9. After upgrading to Elements 13 I would like to continue using the ASFROC plug-in filter. Can I just add it to the Filter sub-folder in Elements 13?

I believe the problem is those filters are 32 bit filters and you most likely have the 64 bit version of photoshop elements 13.
The 64 bit version of pse 13 requires 64 bit filters, so you wouldn't be able to use the Kodak filters in pse 13
Which operating system are you using?
If windows, is your windows system 32 or 64 bit?
(the mac version of pse 13 is always 64 bit)
