(SPAM) getting about 100 connections per minute

Hi guys:
lately my mail server is getting jammed with requests to send email to [email protected] They necer stop and the requests come from all over the world. I cannot find any information by doing a google search.
Has anyone experianced anything like this? None of the mail goes trough but I am sure makes my mail server much slower

the account does not really exist on my server. I created the account after seing so many request just to see what's the msg content. here are some headers. mind you the requests are coming from EVERYWHERE so this is not an attack from an infected computer. I am just getting the bounced msgs. Every bounced msg is addressed to the same email but with a different name. The spam in question is a stock (EGLY) and a bunch of them with subject "Hi, NAME here!"
the bounced msgs are arriving from the right IP (per example email addressed to yahoo arrives from yahoo's mx ip)

Hi,
this may be a false/positive log record.
First check the services and applications on the effecting machine (NETSTAT -ANO) to see which connections the machine has established or tries to establish.
Check the machine against viruses and spyware.
if you don't find any viruses / spyware or "mysterious" connections, create a connection exception limit in the flood mitigation settings on your TMG Server:

Compressor taking about an hour per minute of video

Hi, I've been trying for a week now to get my 1 hour 42 minute HD video to compress for a DVD. I've tried a bunch of different settings and I finally got one that works good. But it's taking about 1 hour for every minute of video that it's compressing and I'm trying to have DVDs made by this Saturday. All of the other setting that I've tried so far have taken days at a time, then failed with only a few hours left. Does anybody know of any faster way of doing this without losing quality?
I'm using a macbook pro, the video is AVCHD 1920 X 1080 using AIC. I'm using MPEG-2 with 2 pass VBR, all frame controls on "Better" in Compressor. I like the quality (I tried a 7 minute clip of it already) and I want these DVDs to be at least that quality, but it doesn't seem like it should be taking so long.

you're on a MBP si there really isn't a lot you can do but reduce quality. You have only two cores. I'm hesitant to reccomend that you setup a cluster in qmaster. You'd be using all your cores. I'd want you to have at least one gig of free memory for each core, and I don't know how many you have. On the bigger multicore machines we'd assign 50-75% of the cores to the cluster assuming plenty of ram. Your drives aren't helping but at this point it's processing power rather than drive speed. You could try disomnia from digitalrebellion.com to keep them awake, and set your energy settings panel to prevent drives from sleeping

Is there some bizarre reason why HP software makes hundreds of connections per minute to my c309a?

My firewall logs indicate that there are currently more than 300 connections between svchost an my printer. This is a UDP connection to port 161. This constitutes close to 90% of my network traffic. Tasklist indicates that the instance of svchost making these connections is being tasked by Pml driver HPZ12. Why in the world would a printer driver need to connect to a printer literally every 2 seconds all day and night? Is there some semi-plausible explanation for this or is this just another case of HP using morons as developers? I decided to just turn off my printer to stop this, but today when I booter up I suddenly got hundreds of attempts for svchost to connect out to, svchost.exe port 427 to 92.242.144.50 port 427 UDP svchost.exe port 1648 to 92.242.144.50 port 139 TCP This IP is some kind of error service and you are often redirected there if you try to go to a domain that doesn't exist. I decided to turn the printer back on and the attempted connections stopped and have not returned. Is there some way I can stop all these connections to my printer, or turn off the printer and not have my logs get filled up with other junk, or is HP software still the crap it always has been before? Slow (no more than 7 per minute) sent emails in a status update for many situation

We have a new Exchange 2010 system and the need of nightly status for a large number of customers.
Initially, I simply increased the number of mails the involved email accounts could send and that allowed them to deliver.
The problem then was/is that they are still limited to about 7 mails per minute.
At this stage I increased the connection throttling from 20 to 2000, though the average of 7/min is still the norm.
Here are commands I used for throttling increase:
New-ThrottlingPolicy -name 2000EmailMaxConcurr -RCAMaxConcurrency 2000
Set-Mailbox address1 -ThrottlingPolicy 2000EmailMaxConcurr
Set-Mailbox address2 -ThrottlingPolicy 2000EmailMaxConcurr
have read of other efforts, but though assistance rather then cluttered rule implementation was in order.
Anyone have a similar issue and solution?
In my last mass mailing instance, a 2003 installation, I do not recall having to alter the default to allow more than 7 emails per minute from an address.

the appropriate email addresses.
This morning, the report of Monday night's emails stil listed 7 per minute.

Beats per minute-increase or decrease

My wife rides dressage free style (dancing horses) there are songs she likes, but sometimes the songs (bpm) do not match "foot fall" (bpm) of the horse. The music will normally be intrumental, we are also going start an "anythings goes" routines where we may use vocal are instrumentals.
I know using GarageBand I can edit tunes length/cut & loop but can't figure out how to increase/decrease (bpms) of a prerecorded song by 1-20(bpm).
I want to know using iTunes/GarageBand or other software how to increase or decrease a songs's (bpm) to match foot fall of the horse/s?

Note that while applications such as beaTunes try their best, there is no reliable way for software to automatically to get an accurate beats-per-minute count. They only really accurate way is by figuring it out for yourself by counting with a watch and entering in the information, or using one the "tap to the beat and I'll tell you the timing" apps. beaTunes is just not terribly accurate for most types of music. You can download the trial version and see if it will work for you, though.

Currently I'm looking for a solution to provide a high

Next to that, clustering... as far as I know now, the

If I were you, Flash Media Interactive Server is what I would
have gone for, the reason it is scalable(it supports clustering) to
meet or exceed the 500 users /minute requirement. FMSS doesn't
support clustering.
Edge/origin is the typical way to scale up FMS for Live as
well as VOD usage.
However, for live stream distribution, there is another great
feature of FMS i.e. multipoint publish; which lets one FMS to
distribute its live stream to many FMS. I believe, It's worth a
try.

Getting over 100 Facebook notifications per day (suddenly)

Hi. My problem is HUGE. I want to start by asking that nobody give me a hard time. I've come across some forums recently where people just seem to want to go to there for the express purpose of saying something that makes them feel superior to others & I'd like to not hear that. So....
That being said, I have the Facebook app on my iPhone 4 and I've had it for a really long time. I updated last week, and since then I have literally - NO exaggeration - been getting over 100 Farmville notifications per day. I *DID* remove the FB app for a day to narrow down the problem to the Facebook app & not the Farmville app or just FV in general. The notifications went away. I and about a millon people trying to help me looked at & tweaked Facebook settings but there is absolutely nothing in there opting either in or out of them sending alerts to my phone everytime anyone sendsd me something or performs some type of action to do with Farmville & no one seems to know what on earth is happening. Before this, I'd only get 1 or 2 notifications per day.
My little defensiveness here is that I do have a reason why I need to keep both FB & FV on my phone. I'm not in your normal, everyday situation & I strongly depend upon these apps just to maintain my sanity while I'm busy being super un-healthy. There's nothing wrong with playing Farmville or whatever you enjoy....people need to do what keeps them happy as long as its safe, legal or moral or wtvr....
So anyway, I have had hours where I get no alerts and have had periods of 10 minutes where I get more than 20. I contacted Zynga & they are just clueless, they dont know why that's happening & blame FB. On the FB end of things, there just doesnt seem to be any setting or whatever related to this. So everything looks to lead toward something to do with the iPhone. Especially since none of this began until I updated last week. Oh, and Facebook is horrific about providing any type of user support.
Desperate for an answer here!
BTW I googled the problem - I forget the exact search terms that I used but I did find other people with the same issue! Only no solution. One of the web articles that came up in the search was from a couple of years ago believe it or not.

There are a few things you can do to cut down on bandwidth. I set Firefox never to check the cache with pages online, so that if I go back to a previous page, it does not need to download again, but can be pulled out of the cache.
browser.cache.check_doc_frequency - set to 2 (never)
I use Flashblock to prevent Flash items from downloading automatically. If there is any Flash item you want to see, you click the icon over that space, and that one item will load but none of the others on the page will load until you want them to do so.
I use Adblock Plus to block ads. This saves bandwidth as well, since it stops banner ads from being loaded, and blocks popup ads as well.

Why my mac mini died during a power cut (about 1 or 2 minutes), then it is connected to an inverter that works without problems?

It seemed to me that a device connected to an inverter does not spontaneously extinguished, unless said inverter no longer load!
However, there was a break of about 1 to 2 minutes during the night. And I find my mac mini off, I mean off! not in pause! while the monitor itself is paused.
And I had to restart 2 times because the first time it did not recognize my password!
So can somebody tell me if it's "normal" or if there's a bug somewhere?

Daddy is right - my advice to customers has always been to use no more than 85% to 90% of their drive's capacity in OS X. Now that we are getting to the point where a 250GB drive is the norm, I'm starting to think about revising that advice a bit but still, there's good reason for it.
OS X is constantly creating, revision, and deleting caches. Temporary files are created and later deleted. Virtual Memory swaps files in and out as your program use overloads the mount of RAM you have. There's lots going on in the background and when your drive gets close to full it slows things down. And the closer you come to filling the drive, the harder it is for OS X to automatically keep disk fragmentation to a minimum which can further slow it down.
