SPAM OR UPGRADE TO EHP BETTER???

Dear all,
We have to make ready a plan for updating the latest support packs for all the landscapes of SAP. But, there is quite a confusion. We are currently on SAP ECC 6.0 on PRD landscape and rest all, SAP EHP1 for netweaver. Should we spend time in updating to the latest support packs or go for an upgrade to EHP4 or the latest??

With EHP4 you will need to update your SAP ECC 6.0 PRD to SAP EHP1 for Netweaver, it is a requirement. Whether you choose to install EHP4 depends on your company's requirements and whether or not they need the new functionality contained in EHP4. EHP4 support packages will have an equivalent SAP ECC 6.0 support package ie the same corrections are contained in their equivalent.

Hi,
If you are using beta product you cant in any situation to upgrade or to migrate to Lync 2013 RTM.
The main reason is, on the Active Directory there are some objects and value that are not supported with both version together.
When you will install and prepare your schema the beta version will stop functionality.
Another thing is that the beta version is expired not?
You can do something else and export your topology to tbxml file and using it on your new Lync RTM.

Upgrading to EHP 4.0 - Have few queries on ESS/MSS, Erecruitment.

We are trying to upgrade our portal to EHP 5.0. We have ESS/MSS and few webdynpro java and webdynpro abap applications on the portal. These are the few queries I have
1) ESS services : employee search, personal data, LMS(Webdynpro Java) are on EHP 3 as of now. Will the applications remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP5?
2) ESS travel management(Webdynpro ABAP) are on EHP 2 as of now. Will this application remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP 5?
3) E Recruitment (BSP) is on EHP 3 Will this application remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP 5?
4) We have MSS services: ERec Manager and Appraisal. Will these services affect if we upgrade to EHP 5?
4) We have few custom applications in Webdynpro abap and webdypro java developed on portal. Will these effect if we upgrade to EHP 5?

Upgrade from EHP 7.01 to CE 7.1

We have portal EHP 7.01 and we are thinking of upgrading it to CE 7.1 to use Visual composer 7.1 features. We currently got ESS/MSS applications customised and running on EHP7.01 as central portal, also we got NWDI installed on our DEV system. Is upgrading to CE 7.1 is seamless or is it going to be too much hassle because we already have some ESS/MSS applications running on EHP7.01 and NWDI?
I think CE 7.1 uses J2EE server 7 version whereas EHP uses 6.4 version, is this mean there is no directly upgrade from EHP 7.01?
Please clarify from your experience is this something achievable and easy to migrate?
One important question I wanted to ask here is can we use CE 7.1 as a central portal in FPN model? or Should we stick to EHP 7.01 as central portal and use the CE 7.1 as producer portal?

We found that CE 7.1 cannot be used as a central portal and should be installed seperately as lean portal for composite development.
I'm copy pasting some info from documents I gathered.
u201CUsing SAP NetWeaver CE is an application-driven decision u2013 for example because you would like to use new version of Visual Composer or Business Process Management features.
You would never really decide from a portal point of view to switch to CE 7.1, because for overall portal projects SAP NetWeaver 7.0 is the basis of choice.

It will focus especially on the different integration technologies that are available to provide your CE applications within your central SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Portal.u201D
In short CE 7.1 has its own u201Cleanu201D portal for composite apps. CE could be installed in isolation and be a producer portal in an FPN without having any technical impact on the 7.0 Portal environment. It could be integrated with NWDI on the 7.0 Portal. My customer recently upgraded to EHP 7.0.
I have one query like below :

                         where (condition).
where ls_table-tabname is the table name, <table> is with the structure of same table and condition is very simple where condition. (id = 'XXXXX').
We are getting dump with "CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SYNTAX" and the dump message is "

ECC6 Upgrade and EHP 4 because of a CRM7 in the landscape?

Hi,
I am in the way to upgrade my SAP 4.6c system to ECC6.
In my overall landscape, I have a CRM 7 installed.
Do you believe I need to perform a simple ECC6 upgrade or a ECC6 upgrade including EHP4 SR1?
In other words, is it mandatory to go through the Upgrade + EhP4 because I have a CRM 7 around?

Hi,
according to my view upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ERP 6.0 EHP4 is easy because you can save your time in all preparation task that you to carry before starting upgrade as EHP upgrade itself takes time for preaprtion task....
also, you can reduce the downtime of your production environment if you will directly go to ERP EHP4..
As EHP4 takes significant downtime to upgrade the system ( also depends on hardware and database size)...
Also, you can reduce probablity of error free upgrade by carrying out one upgrade instead of carrrying out 2 upgrade (from SAP 4.6c to ERP6.0 then ERP6.0 to EHP4)...

Upgrade FB 4 Beta Projects to FB4 Premium

Hi there,
I just upgraded from FB beta 2 to FB4 Premium. I'm using the Eclipse plugin. When I installed FB4 Premium I just installed it into the Eclipse installation in which I had FB Beta 2 thinking FB4 Prem would over-write it.
Well, it did over write it but now my projects that were using FB4 Beta 2 now do not recognize the "mx" Halo namespace. The namespace I'm using is 'xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo'. So, the projects will not build and I can't seem to track down where in my project properties I need to make changes.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to resolve this?

SUM and upgrade to EHP Updates to Suite 2013 SP06

Dear Gurus
According to OSS note 2081050 - Upgrades and EHP Updates to Suite 2013 SP06, an upgrade to Suite7i2013 SP06 requires the new Support Release 2 DVDs to be used (will be available soon).
Why Stack upgrade requires DVD? As i know in case of stack upgrade, shadow instance is built as a copy ( dbclone) of existing repository. Upgrade export DVD are in use in case of release update only.
Can somebody explain what happens?

I have generated a stack file via MOpz and the stack file contains DVD:

Should be requested BS7I2013_SR2_UPGRADE, or not?

Upgrading to EHP 1 is better or to SP 19 ?

We are planning to upgrade from SAP BI SP 16 to higher patch level, we are facing dilama of which is the best one to go with either EHP 1 or SP 19 ? Can anyone please throught your thoughts on this one.

This is a forward looking question. If your planning on integrating SAP Business Objects tools, or other functionality introduced with EHP1, in the near future, then you should upgrade to EHP1 (and update with SPS3 or SPS4). Think of EHP upgrades not as a Support Package, or patch, upgrade, but as a minor release that provides more functionality. Sometimes you'll see it shown as NetWeaver 7.01 instead of NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1.
If you don't plan on using any of the new functionality, then updating to SPS18 or SPS19 would be appropriate.
As for the SPS to choose, I'm always skeptical of the latest release. BI 7.0 SPS19 and BI 7.01 SPS4 were both released in June 2009. What I've seen at most organizations, including mine, the strategy is to update to the -1 SPS level, which in this case would mean BI 7.0 SPS18 or BI 7.01 SPS3.

Can't upgrad FF 4 Beta 9 to Beta 10

Every time I open my Firefox (4 Beta 9) a window pops up and tells me that upgrading to Beta 10 couldn't be done. And that I should check if I have other Firefoxes running which need to be closed. I DON'T have any other Firefoxes on (or any other Mozilla program) so why I can't upgrade to Beta 10?

* Download a fresh Firefox beta 10 copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-beta.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I tried to upgrade from FF7 beta to FF7 and now I have no Firefox at all

I was using the FF7 beta. When I saw that FF7 had been released, I downloaded and tried to install it, without uninstalling the beta first. That may have been a mistake. It got partway through the install process and then asked me to reboot the computer. After the reboot, my FF shortcut no longer worked ("Searching for firefox.exe"). I used another browser to download the installer again and ran it, only to be told that I needed to reboot my computer in order for a previous install to complete. I rebooted; no change. Attempting to remove the existing installation in Add/Remove Programs has not helped, though Mozilla Firefox is no longer listed there.
I'm using Windows XP and my standard user account doesn't have admin privileges. This hasn't been a problem for Firefox until, perhaps, now. I've tried running the installer from an admin account as well, with the same result.
Is there anything I can remove manually to fix this?

OK... I found a Mozilla Support article - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The%20program%20must%20close%20to%20allow%20a%20previous%20installation%20attempt%20to%20complete - which says deleting xpicleanup.dat will solve the problem; but I guess that's out of date (or the presence of that file isn't the only cause of the bug), because there's no xpicleanup.* on my machine. However, elsewhere in this forum - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/786890 - I found a suggestion to install the new version somewhere other than the default folder. I did that, and it worked; and it even preserved my bookmarks, add-ons and previously-opened tabs. (If anyone finds this while trying to solve their own upgrade/install failure: choose Custom rather than Standard install, and just change the suggested folder name.)
The only remaining sign of the problem is the icon in my Quick Launch area: if I try to use it to launch Firefox, I still get the error "Windows cannot open this file: firefox.exe.moz.delete". Having recorded that here for posterity, I'll be replacing the icon.

Upgrade from CRforVS2010 Beta to CRforVS2010 production results in errors

I'm looking for some help with an upgrade issue. I am a newbie in this area so I apologize for my lack of knowledge.
I'm taking over a web site with crystal reports for visual studio 2010. The site is quite complicated. The main site is located on one server(external web hosting) and the reporting feature is located on another (internal office hosting).
When I upgrade to CRforVS2010 production release, the reporting feature bombed. Giving me the following error:

Something went wrong with upgrade to mobileme beta

Hi!
After upgrading to new mobileme beta no account was added in iCal/preferences. So i tried to add it manually. It ends with an error message:
The server responded with an error.
The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “[email protected]” Make sure you enter them correctly.
The user name and password are correct.
I noticed, that after adding the mobileme account the password field in +iCal/Preferences/Accounts/Account Information+ has left empty.
Even after adding it, next time opening the Preferences window it is blank again.
So i switched to another User to see if it would work there. Same thing...

Impact on BI after ECC 6.0 Upgrade from Ehp 3 to Ehp 4

Could you please provide me inputs in what needs to considered in terms of BI system?
I know the following thing:
1) Delta Queues must be cleared before the upgrade starts but what needs to be considered for FI and CO Data Sources.

What version of BI is yours...3.5 or 7.0???
Unless the ehp4 is bringing some functional changes to FI or other functional datasources which needs to be replicated on to the BI side.
