Spam SMS on my iphone

I've been recently receiving a spam SMS which reads: "Please keep this message. Sender: IMEI:[IMEI number]"
It's already a bother as I receive a total of 40+ SMS since yesterday. Need help here please? Thanks!

Contact your carrier about these. Spam in some countries are illegal.

  • How to block spam sms in iPhone for India? Any solution?

I get far more annoyed with text message spam than I do with email spam. My iPhone (unlocked) dings every time I receive a text message, and I check it as soon as I can. I really, really resent the intrusion when it’s spam. And of course there’s the cost. I don’t pay per text message, but when I am in international roaming I do. I searched every nook and cranny on the iPhone to find a way to block the spam, to no avail. Suggestions in different web forum like contacting the service provider (in my case its Vodafone India) did not help. My friends using other mobile service companies like Airtel says the situation is the same. So no point changing service provider. There is one application iBlacklist which I purchased but was a waste of 2 dollars as it does not work in India (see the complaints of the cheated customers in the app store). Is there any iphone application which will allow me to block the spams while still able to receive sms from friends and relatives. I know that my issue is not a new one but honestly, I have tried out everything and have not found an effective solution that works in Indian setting. Many thanks for your suggestions.

I am lucky lucky because up to now I have had very few Spam SMS'.
I give out my cell phone number as little as possible.
The following article may give you some tips about prventing spam SMS:

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If that does not resolve, SMS is a carrier feature, contact the carrier.

  • HT201269 Is there a way to download/port the missing data/SMS to one iPhone without overwriting the new SMS on the newer iPhone?

SMS Transferring/downloading/backup : Is there a way to download/port the missing data/SMS to one iPhone without overwriting the new SMS on the newer iPhone? Here is my dilemma. My iPhone quit working and I couldn’t get it fixed as quickly as I needed to. I bought a used iPhone and started using it normally and downloaded the backup from itunes/icloud. There was a large gap in data where the first iPhone didn’t backup when I thought it had. I have SMS data on both phonesnow and  I need them for a court hearing. I have since had the other iPhone repaired and working perfectly. Will downloading a backup wipe out the newer SMS data? I am nervous because I can’t lose the information or my case mey be compromised. Any “Real Help” including programs that work to accomplish this would be very helpful. Thank You in advance…

No, direct access to manipulating the phone's filesystem is not permitted for 3rd party apps in the iOS.  It can't be done without hacking the phone, which you certainly don't want to do.  The messages can be combined and viewed on your computer, but not on a single phone.

  • Spam filtering solution for iPhone and a question.

I've read a lot of posts about spam filtering for the iPhone and have yet another solution and a question. I use SpamSieve and I am not affiliated with them in any way. The nice thing about SpamSieve is that if it is the first rule in your Mail.app rule set any mail that follows has already been filtered. All you need to do then is create another rule that redirects email to what ever mail account you choose. Since my ISP allows multiple accounts, I will simply create an iPhone@myISP account.
Now the question. Is it possible to write an applescript that will turn the redirect rule on or off so that I don't have to dig into the rules section of Mail to get this done?
    Thanks

    not at present time

  • Problem sending SMS to non iPhone users

    Hi!
I have this problem when sending SMS to non iPhone users (BB users and simple phone users) they get the message in chunks... For example if I send one message with 131 characters they get the sms in 5 chunks, pieces...
I deactivated the MMS feature (in case that was that) but the problem persists...
    Any ideas?

I exchange SMS on a fairly regular basis with non-iPhone users - with those who are also AT&T subscribers and with those who are not, and this has never been reported to me by any non-iPhone user that I exchange messages with.
Doubtful this is being caused by the iPhone. I suggest calling AT&T technical support to report this and be prepared to answer a question such as which carrier the non-iPhone users are with.

  • Import/Export SMS to/from iPhone have be must in Itunes

Import/Export SMS to/from iPhone have be must in Itunes

I have exactly the same problem as David Ting. I just bought a brand new iPhone 4 and just want to do the same thing that I did when moved from Symbian to Windows Mobile and from Windows Mobile to Android: import my old SMS messages and call history to my new device.
It's a _complete nonsense_ to be incapable of doing a so simple thing in iOS.
I'm really shocked with this impossibility. I'm starting to think that I just did a very wrong move choosing Apple.

  • Spam sms

blocking "unknown numbers" one by one is no longer enough 'coz i keep getting spam sms from "new" numbers.   is there an app that puts spam sms in a separate inbox just like email. you do not want to "blocK" them coz you may get sms from your friends who are not yet in contacts, so you still want to check that spam  inbox, afterwards you can just "clean" all at once just like in email.   i know ios does not support this feature yet, but is there an app like on android ?
ios needs to have this feature in next version.

I also received this message: "Ihre Nummer gewinnt heute! Gehen Sie auf http://www.apfel.ch.gewinner.us und geben Sie den Code: 5138 ein, um Ihr kostenloses Produkt zu erhalten!" The number sending this was a USnumber: +1 (832) 955 4979.
Maybe someone can help find out down who sends this and how they got my number!
    Thanks

  • Retrieve deleted sms from my iphone 4s

hello, I accidently deleted sms from my iphone 4s. my phone's last sync to macbook pro was a week ago, does this backup include sms'? but I want to retrieve all message up to today. Is there a way to do this without using another app?
    thank you

No it's not exactly the same, see the links:
    Backup
    iTunes http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4946
    iCloud http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2584
I preferred iTunes since it's local and faster.

  • Can anyone suggest an app to download for SMS messaging for iphone 3G as the message application factory installed is pretty useless and doesnt keep your sent messages in a sent folder

Can anyone suggest an app to download for SMS messaging for iphone 3G as the message application factory installed is pretty useless and doesnt keep your sent messages in a sent folde and has no folders unlike most messaging features on other phones.
    Many thanks
    Mark

Why do you need a Sent folder?  iOS's Messaging interface lays each conversation out like a chat or IM.  Personally, I find that much more convenient.

  • Move SMS texts from iphone 3g to Iphone4

Morning all. A nice delivery man has just brought me a shiney new Iphone4 which I would like to fill up with my old previous SMS text messages. The rest of the stuff I can sync without an issue. Is there any way of copying the data from one to the other?
    Cheers Simon

I had an iPhone 3GS and wanted to transfer my SMS's  to my new iPhone 4
I saw all the above methods
Sorry to say but all are very confusing
    so I found this
Extremely simple and easy method to solve (The SMS Transfer) issue
I wanted to share with the community
    well here it goes
Step One : Backup both your iPhones
Step Two : Search and download iTools for iPhone free download (for PC or MAC)
Step Three : Open itools & plug in your iphone 3GS
Step Four : Your iPhone will be detected & all details would be displayed on the left Panel
Step Five : Click on File Sytems
Step Six : On the right Panel click on filesystem (Jailbreak)
    Step Seven : Go to filesystem/user/ library/sms
Step Eight : On the far right panel, you will see some very important folders and files
Step Nine : Simply Select All, Right Click and copy em in a new Folder may be on the desktop                     (Name it iPhone 3GS SMS)
Step Ten : Disconnect iphone 3GS and connect iPhone 4
Step Eleven : Repeat the steps from Five to Nine (Only copy them in a new folder and name it                      iPhone 4  SMS. (Note : We dont need these files n folders, but just in case                            something goes wron, we can replace them back)
Step Twelve : Copy the files n folders from the directory on the desktop named iPhone 3GS SMS
and paste the in the iphone 4 here (the program will ask wether to replace                             existing files n folders, in some chinese lingo, but u can see Y and N on each                           buttons so click on the left (Y)
And thats about it, You are done, As simple as that, All the SMS on the iPhone 3GS are transfered on the new device.
Screen Shot Attached for your reference
Caution : This worked like a charm for me, but it may not be the same for everyone so just in case anything goes wrong you can replace the previously saved files n folders in iPhone 4 SMS directory back. I am very clear, I am not responsible for any loss or damage, Do at your own risk.

  • SPAM filters for the IPhone

Are there any spam filters for the IPhone?

While there is a brief comment on what sounds like the solution elsewhere in this thread, I've set up a fantastic spam filter system. Here are the details:
    1) You'll need a second account with your ISP or workplace. "[email protected]"
    2) Mac Mail has a great series of rules, that with some work, can produce a very clean list of real mail, and a very short list of possible "wanted" mail. In my setting, I get more than 150 mail per day, only about 10 are real. We have three accounts, collectively I'll call them "[email protected]"
    3) In the rule settings, make the "last rule" to forward all messages (mail does not need you to specify which box) to "[email protected]"
    4) Set mail to check your accounts every several minutes, but to not remove mail from the server for a day or more.
This allows me to see each real e-mail ONCE on my desktop, as I need it on my laptop, and when I need it on my iPhone.
The important thing to remember, is to never send any mail from "[email protected]" else it will also start collecting spam on it's own. Conversely, never check the incoming mail from "[email protected]" on your iPhone for fear of inadvertently validating the address and attracting more spam.
    Hope that this helps.
    Adam
PS--You windoze folks may be out of luck. The Windoze mail clients often cannot recognize mail that they've already downloaded, or be as slick with setting up rules to handle the spam.
