SPAM update during prepare phase

Hi all,
I am doing an upgrade from 40B to 4.7 and finished my preparation before Prepare phase.
Initialization phase is also completed successfully during prepare phase.
Unfortunately i forgot to upgrade my SPAM to the latest and now i am unable to continue with Prepare
phase because it is asking me to upgrade SPAm.
And when i am performing SPAM update , it is giving warning and unable to continue further
as " Caution: Upgrade is still running. Patches may be lost.
Message no. TN 153 "
Please let me know the way out , as i have also restarted my SAP and database but same warning still appear.
Regards,
RR

I suggest to cancel PREPARE, apply SPAM update and after that start PREPARE from scratch.
Cheers

  • XATransaction - Failure during prepare phase - NO EXCEPTION

I'm expecting an Oracle error upon commit using "deferred constraints" and
executing an INSERT that should result in a constraint violation (during the
              2-phase commit). I am not
seeing an error but the transaction hangs for 30seconds (JTA timeout
setting) and then CONTINUES WITHOUT AN EXCEPTION (yet no data is persisted).
The session bean client has no indication that the transaction has failed.
I've tried implicit and explicit transations from the client and the session
              bean is marked as required.
              Weblogic: 8.1 sp1
DB: Oracle 9.1 (Oracle 8 also tried)
Driver: Oracle Thin XA, Weblogic Oracle, Oracle SQL*NET drivers, all have
              the same problem
How is it possible that Oracle fails upon commit but the JDBC connection
waits for a timeout, and ALSO how is it possible that I'm not seeing a
              transaction timeout exception?
(i've changed the JTA timeout setting to verify that this is the timeout
that is occuring and sure enough if i make it 20 seconds it returns after
              20, 60, etc...)

hi, maybe you can try check the boxes in the connection pool like support local
              transactions and keep XA connection.

  • IDES ERP 2005 / open ABAP dictionary conversion during SPAM Update

    Dear all,
First of all, I'm currently busy implementing a educational enviroment for our company, we are using IDES MySAP ERP 2005 SR1 MSSQL.
At the moment we are trying to upgrade the SPAM version from version 20 to 22.
However, during the requirement checks the following error occurred :
<b>Open conversions in the data dictionary</b>
    <i>Phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS: Explanation of Errors
Some open conversion requests still exist in the ABAP Data Dictionary
for the following ABAP Dictionary objects. To avoid inconsistencies and
loss of data, you must process these conversions first.
    Proceed as follows:
    - Open a new session.
    - Start the Database Utility (transaction SE14).
    - Correct the inconsistencies for the specified objects.
    - Repeat the import phase. If no more inconsistencies are found, the
      import continues.
Phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS: Open ABAP Dictionary Conversions

                       SC2T327F363DFA4T ~ ESI
                       SC2T327F363DFA4T ~ KYS
    </i>
It seems that the indexes mentioned above are missing or doesn't exist!!!! i've tried looking for a sap note or a solution on SDN. However, haven't found a solution at all, or I'm looking at the wrong spot.
Is there a note or can somebody provide me what's in the indexes, so i can create it in our IDES system.
    Regards,
    Yam-Lang Lee

    Hi Kiran,
Thank you very much. I managed to create the first index.
However not the indexes on table SC2T327F363DFA4T. Can't find any information for the indexes for this table. Did found note 959811. There it state that de indexes were deleted. But still stuck in the check_requirements of the SPAM Update!

  • SPAM Update stuck in EPILOGUE phase

    Hi,
We were trying to update the SPAM level from 40 to 45 of our R/3 4.6C system. After the SPAM update, we saw an information text saying " The current progam has been modified while running" and then just restarted transaction SPAM. The SPAM level has been updated to 45 but the status got stuck in the EPILOGUE phase with a red traffic light. We checked import/action/tp logs but did not find any errors. We can't find any OSS note as well describing this issue. Can anyone help us with this issue? We cannot proceed with our Support pack upgrade =(
    Thanks and God Bless.

    Hi Rekka ,
you logoff and login again and run spam again .if still getting same error then lock all users and run the spam .This problem occures while run the spam same time some user working on same program.
please check and give thereward for this.

  • Long "Preparing" phase after 10.5.8 update is NORMAL

An OSX update usually involves thousands of files, so many as to overwhelm Time Machine's usual method of quickly determining what's changed and needs to be backed-up.
Instead, it must do a "deep traversal," examining every directory (folder) on your system, causing a lengthy "Preparing" phase, and somewhat larger than normal backups.
This "deep traversal" must be repeated again (and again) until a backup is completed successfully, so try *not to interrupt or cancel* it.
If in doubt about what Time Machine is doing, click here to download the +Time Machine Buddy+ widget. It shows the messages from your logs for one TM backup run at a time, in a small window.

No, that's much too long. In some extreme cases, as much as a few hours might be normal, but some folks give up after 10 minutes.
Start with item #D2 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip* at the top of this forum.
If nothing there seems to help, please start a new thread. Include your setup (which Mac is having trouble), what your destination is (external drive, Time Capsule), etc.; the messages from the widget; whether this is your first backup, or your first since upgrading to 10.5.8; and anything else that might be pertinent.

    Hi,
Please find the below I think it may help you :
    CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
This phase checks various requirements for importing a Support Package. This phase may terminate for the following reasons:
¡        TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_TO_SYSTEM: tp cannot log on to the database of the system.
¡        QUEUE_NOT_EMPTY: There are incompletely processed OCS requests in the tp buffer. Use the following tp command to display these requests:
         tp SHOWBUFFER  -D SOURCESYSTEMS= TAG=SPAM
You can only continue to import the queue after these requests have been completely processed, or deleted from the tp buffer.

    Hi,
You have to uncar the add-on in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory.
Keep your add-on sar/car file in /usr/sap/trans folder and use following command
    cd /usr/sap/trans
    SAPCAR -xvf xxxxxxxx.sar
it will automatically unzip the files in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory.

  • Spam update

    hi
when i am trying to uddate spam from 18-29 it gives me following error
The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
IMPORT_PROPER, which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve
    without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial
screen of the Support Package Manager.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
         -   Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER
         -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
         -   Return code: 0008
         -   Error message: OCS Package ALL, tp step "6", return code 0008
    Notes on phase IMPORT_PROPER
In this phase repository objects and table entries are imported. This
phase can terminate due to the following reasons:
o   TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: The tp interface could not be called.
o   TP_FAILURE: The program tp could not be executed. For more
information on this, see the SLOG or ALOG log file.
o   TP_STEP_FAILURE: A tp step could not be executed. To find the cause
of the error, see the appropriate log, such as the import log.
If the cancelation message contains a tp step 6, N or S, the step in
question is independent of the transport request. You can find these
logs under the node Import steps not specific to transport request
         in the log overview.
Alternatively, you can find these logs in the following files in the         logs under the node Import steps not specific to transport request
             in the log overview.
Alternatively, you can find these logs in the following files in t
log directory of your transport directory (usually:
             /usr/sap/trans/log):
             -   tp Step 6: P<YY><MM><DD>.<SID>
             -   tp Step N: N<YY><MM><DD>.<SID>
             -   tp Step S: DS<YY><MM><DD>.<SID>
You can display these files using the report RSPUTPRT or by callin
             transaction AL11.
A prerequisite of the Support Package Manager is that the Change and
Transport System (CTS) is configured correctly. For more detailed
information, read the online documentation available from Help -> SAP
Library -> mySAP Technology Components -> SAP Web Application Server -
         Change and Transport System .

i searched for this error on net after reading several posts i tried to reimport several times but still it gives me the same error
    plz help asap
    regards

    Hi Subash,
Please do the below steps to resolve the issue. Defintely it will works.
    1) stop R/3 through MMC
    2) put the following environment variables:
    2.1) setenv SHLIB_PATH /usr/sap/BSP/sys/exe/run
2.2) setenv dbms_type ora  ( if your DB is oracle)
    3) start sap through MMC (to take new values of these environment variables)
    4) Restart SPAM update.
I guess it will resolve with the NEW environment variable "dbms_type".
Please do that and let me know if still error persists.
    Thanks

  • SPAM update - LOAD_PROGRAM_CLASS_MISMATCH

    Hello,
I am just preparing for an upgrade to our DEV ECC system.
I have the patches downloaded and ready to go in EPS/In
I've run the SPAM update in the usual way and seen this error:
    Runtime Errors         LOAD_PROGRAM_CLASS_MISMATCH
    Date and Time          14.04.2014 11:17:56
    Short Text
Class interface was changed at runtime.
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLOCS_UI" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator. Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
The system attempted to correct the error
automatically, so you should try to restart
         the program.
    Error analysis
The section "PUBLIC" of the interface of the class "CL_OCS_PROCESS_STATUS" was
          changed during
program flow, which caused inconsistencies at runtime.
The program "CL_OCS_PROCESS_STATUS=========CP" uses the interface version
          20140414111441.
The program "SAPLOCS_UI" uses the interface version 20140321151332.
The internal session was started at 20140414110145.
I have attempted to re-run the SPAM update and it tells me it was already successfully updated.  Yet when I attempt to "load packages from application server" it just attempts to upload the SPAM update again with the message that "OCS file already exists in inbox.  Upload Not Required"
SPAM cannot see the other patches sat in EPS/In
Does anyone have any ideas please? I'm under pressure here to have this process under way quickly and I've hit a brick wall!
    Thanks

I have uploaded the spam package again and tried to re-run the update.  This is the message:
When I try upload all the other packages from application server it just tries to upload the spam patch again and nothing else.
And this is a screenshot of my EPS/IN directory, showing just a few of the dozens of patches that are sat in that directory.  None of which SPAM seems to be able to see!

  • SPAM update running for a long time in MAIN_IMPORT - NW 7.0 SR3

    Hi,
I have installed NW 7.0 SR3 -> AS ABAP. I am trying to update SPAM. My current version is 7.00/0026. I tried updating it to patch level 33 and 36 but during both the updates SPAM is taking an awful amount of time in the MAIN_IMPORT phase. Update to patch level 33 has been running for almost a week now after i used 'R3trans -i' from the command line as a last-ditch effort. a 'trans.log' file is being continuously updated. Any ideas on why just SPAM update is running for so long?

  • Error in prepare phase SHDINST_DB_PREP  on SQL 20005.

    Dear All,
We are currently in the Prepare phase of the upgrade of our SAP systems and have come up against the following security issue.
We are running upgrades to ERP2005. The current database version is SQL Server 2005 with Windows 2003 SP1 where the CHECK_POLICY option is activated by default.
During the SHDINST_DB_PREP phase of prepare the system was unable to create the shadow user because the password was not complex enough.
Apparently the CHECK_POLICY option of SQL Server 2005 is not explicitly deactivated in the upgrade script.
We do not want to disable our Windows password policies but would like to know how to include the CHECK_POLICY option in the scripts for this phases so that we can create the user.
Has anyone experienced this problem and know of a solution??
I have already posted a message to SAP about this issue and am still awaiting a response
    Owen.

    This issue has been resolved:
For those of you who might be confronted with this issue: this is how its done:
Open the file for msstemps.mss in the directory put\bin.
Replac the lines in this file
if (not exists(select name from syslogins where name = '<shadow>'))
    exec sp_addlogin '<shadow>', '<password>', '<db>'
    through following lines
    if ((@@microsoftversion / 65536) / 256 = 9)
    begin
if not exists (select * from master.dbo.syslogins where name =
    '<shadow>')
    create login <shadow> with
    password = '<password>',
    default_database = <db>,
    check_expiration = off,
    check_policy = off
    end
    else begin
if (not exists(select name from syslogins where name = '<shadow>'))
    exec sp_addlogin '<shadow>', '<password>', '<db>'
save the file and repeat the phase.
SAP is aware of this issue and wille be releasing a fix for this shortly.
