Spanish spell checker in Keynote

If I change my operating system to Spanish, I can access a Spanish spell checker within Keynote. I cannot, however, specify the language I want to use for a particular Keynote file--as I can in PowerPoint. Is there a way to access the Spanish spelling tools from the docment itself without changing the system preferences language?

I am having problem with the spell check in Keynote 3.0. I see where it will underline the miss spelled work, but it is not giving me the box with the correct spelling. Is there something that I need to do to get that back to come up?

When you select the entire word then do control-click or right-click, you don't get the opportunity to choose the correct word?

  • Keynote Spanish Spell Check - Keynote Foreign Language Spell Check

After a fruitless search online and in Keynote Help (and just when I was on the verge of upgrading MS Office) I did learn how to spell check in foreign languages in Keynote. This works through the following Keynote menu selections:
Edit/Spelling/Spelling then click the tab at the bottom of the window to select your spell check language.
Thanks to Sara at Apple Tech Support!

  • Spell checking in Keynote

Help please. I'm slowing switching over from using PowerPoint to Keynote 2.02. I'm having problem with spell checking. When I select check spelling from Edit menu, the (I assume) misspelled words are highlighted and underlined, but no dialog box appears with spelling suggestions or other means to correct, other than grabbing my dictionary and manually correcting the spelling error.
I've searched through the small manual and search Apple's Keynote support site. No luck.
    Thanks

There are three spelling menu options from the Edit menu. It sounds like you selected the second option, which in my opinion is not very useful. Try selecting one of the other options. The first option "Edit>Spelling>Spelling..." (note the three periods) gives you a dialog box offering spelling suggestions. The third option, "Edit>Spelling>Check Spelling as You Type" will underline all of the mispeled words in red.

  • How do I spell check my keynote slides using my ipad

I am using Keynote on my iPad. How do I check spelling on the presentation slides?

    Model No. A1084
    The light is green.
    Thanks for checking this.
Unfortunately, this is an older version of the AirPort Express that cannot be configured using an iPad.
You could still configure the Express using a Mac or PC. Might you have one there?
If you do have a Mac, we need to know what operating system it is using to provide more instructions for you.
Click the Apple icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen and then click About This Mac. Look for the version of OS X and post back with that info.

  • Foreign language spell check in Pages

With Appleworks I downloaded French and Spanish spell check dictionaries and could switch to them when needed. Can I do anything similar with Pages?

  • Help me turn off the spell checker

The iApps are usually so intuitive but for some reason I simply can't find a way to turn off the extremely annoying spell checker in Keynote. Not only do I strenuously object to being second-guessed on my spelling by a piece of software, I also get very angry when it tries to foist US English spellings on me when I'm not an American and my system is set up for international English. What's next, an animated paperclip??
Can someone please help me switch it off (Keynote 06)...?

Thanks Kyn, don't know how I missed that...
The remaining issue is the choice of spelling dictionary - I still can't work out how a user with international or UK English settings is being prompted to use US spellings in place of correct English spellings.

  • Spell Check Text in Spanish in Acrobat Pro 9

I can only spell check in English and I work in various languages. I went to File > Properties > Advanced > Reading, changed it to Spanish
Then Edit > Check Spelling > In Fields editable text, comments  then when it opens it does not show Editable Text.
How do I set my text to Editable Text. I have searched and have not found the solution. There are documents that I have created myself. Thanks for the help ...

Figured out the solution: Go to Edit > Preferences > Spelling > Check the languages you wish to use and move them up to the top. Make sure the language you wish to use in a particular document is at the very top since it seems the Adobe is not intuitive. . I guess it will not check multiple language in the same pdf document.

Spell checking should be based on the keyboard layout that you've got selected in Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards - if you have an English 'UK keyboard' selected then the spell checking should be English

  • Can pages spell check in Spanish?

My daughter is doing a paper for her Spanish class, and would like to spell check the document, Does Pages have the capability to spell check in languages other than English?
Thanks for any and all helpful info.

Aha, so that's the reason you're going after me.  You've decided that what I posted today has zero to do with a poster who posted years ago, so I need to have my hand slapped.
Can I point out that the title of this thread is "can pages spell check in Spanish?"  The title didn't limit the question to one particular version.
Do you not realize that for everyone who writes a post about their problem there are many other people who simply search the archives to get their problem addressed? Instead of posting a brand new question they search the archives and solve their own problems without ever being detected.  The lurkers as they are often called.
Take me for example, I was searching this very issue today, came across this very post, and the solution you offered back in January of 2012 didn't work for me. So, I poked around in Pages until I found the current solution to my current version of Pages. And, I added it to the discussion for the sake of others like me who might find the January 2012 solution not workable for them either. So, they wouldn't have to poke around and work it out for themselves.
I hope this is not how you treat everyone who contributes to the knowledge base.  Try to be a little patient if you will with the ones of us who don't hang around here day in and day out. While we may not know your rules for the sandbox, we're just trying to be helpful. No need to come after us with your guns blazing.
