Spanned clips from my p2 card won't import fcp6

hey shane
i am in fcp6 and having the spanned clip issue. i have a spanned clip that won't import into fcp6. i used p2cms to offload so i do not have the lastfile.txt but could you walk me thru how to import these 4 or 5 spanned clips?

As long as you have all the card dump folders loaded into the Log and Transfer window, FCP will stitch together spanned clips. So if your clip goes from one card to another, load both cards into L&T, then import.

Using LR5.7 on Mac 10.7.5. I was importing DNG and JPG from an SD card. After importing, a few of the DNG images were old photos I had imported months ago, but the matching JPG's were correct new imports. The metadata was correct for the new imports. I tried a new SD card and it happened again. ???

it appears the actual image is probably in place, but the *preview* is incorrect.  clicking on the image to zoom in causes (the normal) "Loading...", followed by a zoomed in view of the *correct* image.  zooming back out gives the normal view of the correct image.  (*very* good to know!)

  • Why won't one of my clips from my memory card import properly? It shows up but when I eject it, it  disappears!!

  • Recovering clips from formated P2 card

By mistake I formated a P2 card full of clips. I downloaded the BYclouder P2 Card Data Recovery. I did manage to get some files back but when I try to open them in Premiere Pro, I get this message: "The importer reported a generic error". I got some some .mxf, .xml and some .bmp files but the little txt files was not there.
Did anybody worked with the BYclouder P2 Card Data Recovery software and had any success importing them in Premiere Pro? http://www.byclouder.com/products/recovery/card/p2-card-data-recovery.html
    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Xml from final cut pro won't import

Hey, my xml file won't import into Logic. It worked once and ever since when I try to import, all the setting prompts pop up but then it says it's done but nothing is imported.
Anyone had this problem and know how to troubleshoot it?

WHy are you reimporting? Don't you have the project that you exported from saved? You shouldn't need to reimport if that's the case.
HOW are you importing?  What is the format of the clips you are importing (codec)?

  • SD card won't import into Aperture, auto-ejects when trying to load preview

Tonight, after installing Leopard, I tried to import photos from an SD card through my SanDisk reader, just as I always have, and as soon as Aperture tries to display previews of what's on the card it causes the card/reader to auto-eject, and I get the message stating that the disk was not removed properly...
So, how do I get my images in Aperture now?

Yes.  The card mounts on the desktop.
There may be mixed formats on the card, not sure.
    Definitely 1080/24fps
    Maybe a few 1080/30fps.
If I use ClipWrap or Media Converter will the files remain at the same level of compression?
No loss of quality from original file?

  • Files From same DVD, Some Won't Import to CS6

I imported 4 VOB's from a high school musical DVD to make a sample reel for my daughter's college. The 5th VOB file won't import, and says, "the file has an unsupported compression type". How can this be when the other files from the same DVD imported seamlessly, and can I do about it to get the file into Premiere what ?

    I use this.

  • P2 Card Won't Import

    Hi Guys,
I've got a small problem with my desktop. Anytime I open a P2 Card folder with Log & Capture, it won't let me import a clip even though I can view the clip in the Log & Capture window. The error I get is simply a red exclamation point in the status column (hovering the cursor reveals the tooltip "Error: Unknown"). This problem is only on my desktop, so for now, I've been taking the drive to my laptop, ingesting the video into a test project, then bringing the drive back with the ingested video and pulling it into FCP on my desktop.
So far, I've tried deleting preferences in both the home folder library, and the MacintoshHD library folders.
I've tried renaming the files (with very short names). I tried leaving the original names.
I've tried changing the preferences in the L&C window to uncheck the "Remove Pulldown. . ." option.
I don't know what else to do. It makes my workflow very difficult having to start up my laptop to ingest my P2 cards every time.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
    Thanks,
    Lawrence

Hey guys, thanks for all the thoughts. Here's what I know:
It is a new issue. I used to import P2 files to the desktop all the time. I have tried transferring the files to the internal HD, then ingesting them as well as ingesting from an external HD. I am able to use the same HD to work with FCP on the laptop.
Both computers are running FCP 6.06.
I do have Perian installed. Could that be an issue?
I'll try connecting the laptop to the desktop and ingesting them from there, but wouldn't that just be the same as trying to ingest from an external HD that has been tested on the laptop w/FCP?
Also, I'll have to look into the utility for reinstalling FCS! It's great to know something's out there for making that a bit easier, because it is a long process.
    Thanks again guys,
    Lawrence

  • I imported vacation photos, got the color wheel and did a force quit. Now I can't find any of those photos, and of course I deleted them from the SD card when I imported them. Where can I find those photos?

I imported vacation photos from my cameras SD card and deleted them when the import was complete. Then I moved them from Events into an Album. When trying to move 2 photos as once to another album I got the color wheel and locked up. I did a force quit but when I go back into iPhoto none of the recently imported photos appear - not in Events, the album, trash, etc. Where can I find those photos?

backup the iPhoto Library and launch iPhoto while depressing and holding the option and command keys until the first aid window appears - rebid your iPhoto library

  • When I add .dea 3d files from 'Meshlab' the files won't import

Whenever I try to add the 3D .dea files made in Meshlab i get this error:
The 3D file “olis world.dae” wasn’t added. The file’s assets couldn’t be consolidated.
    Please can someone help?
    Thanks in advance,
    Oli

You can use standard molecular modelling apps like UCSF Chimera (http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/) or pymol to open the structure and export it as VRML, X3D, or OBJ. Then open that file in the free Meshlab (http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/) and export as Collada (latest version files are best).
iBooks author apparently likes the mesh to be triangulated.
Be aware that your representation options in the molecular modelling app (ribbon, space-filling, surface etc.) will determine what geometry is exported.
For a much more flexible experience, look into Molecular Maya, ePMV, or Bioblender, which are plugins for Maya, Cinema4D, and (the free and open source) Blender to add molecular modelling functionality directly within those environments.

  • P2 Card Spanned Clips will not import to FCP

First of all I'm not even really sure why all of my clips that are over 10 minutes say "spanned" but second of all they will not import to Final Cut Pro. When I do Log and transfer, it pretends like it is working but when it is finished all it gives me is a red "I did not work" exclamation point. Can Anyone Help me?

P2 cards are formatted with an offshoot of FAT32, which has a 4GB limit. So anything over 4GB, will be broken up into multiple parts.
#36 - One or More P2 files failed to import.
Shane's Stock Answer #36 - "One or more clips failed to import..."
Very often in the field with this camera the camera operator will delete clips from the P2 card that they just don't like. That is the beauty of this camera. But, the still for that video file (located in the CLIP folder in the CONTENTS folder)...the still that you see when you are in the P2 Import window...is not deleted. So you will see the image, and the name, but the video file would have been deleted.
What you can do it compare the file names in the VIDEO folder and CLIP folder and see if anything is missing. If something is, then you know what the problem is. You can then just import the rest a few at time, skipping that one.
ALSO...in the P2 Import window...in the P2 Browser, there is a little sprocket drop down menu. Click on that and choose PREFERENCES. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN and then try importing again.
ALSO...make sure your file names aren't too long. Try shortening them and see if that works.
ALSO make sure that the folders that contain the CONTENTS folder doesn't have any odd characters like /!@#$%^&*()?.

  • Problems importing the same clips from diferents cards  IMAC and CS5

Hi, I'm having trouble importing my clips recorded in The ex1, I'm using CS5 with an imac, The problem is that when I import the same clips recorded in two cards, the second card comes exactly with what is inside the first card.  It does not have what was originally in it, it just copies what was on the first card or vice versa.  But the original folder in my drive is intact with the two cards intact. The problem is when I import it to CS5 on IMAC.  When i import the video the imac makes a long file with all the clips an puts them together except the clips from the previous card, it shows but with the same video that is in the begining of the second card or the last clip recorded in the second card .I tried to import the clip again from the first card and it comes with the same video from the second card again.

    1) Don't know why this is happening. It may have something to do with
I downloaded from iCloud the same library I was working with
I'm not clear what procedure you're using here. Using a cloud for storage might change some file tags. Generally users I think keep the library on the same drive as the media, keeping the library backups on the system. There is no real benefit in keeping the media in a separate location. Often users will keep the library in the same folder as the media. It makes backing up using tools like Carbon Copy Cloner very efficient.
1a) This can be difficult to find as there sometimes is no obvious indicator. It might be a missing element in a compound clip, a missing or altered layer in a graphics file, a missing font, a missing effect. These will show up inside the item involved, but may not be apparent in the browser. A missing transition for instance will not be seen until you skim over the project or try to export it.
    2) The 43 MB is a small amount of optimized media. This never prevents relinking. The library is always looking for original media, or proxy media if you're in proxy playback. It never looks for optimized media. If it has it, it uses it, if it doesn't, it uses the original media. If you are using original/optimized playback, you must have the original files. The optimized files are not enough.

  • 6680 Themes from memory card won't show

I've been having this problem lately wherein themes that i saved and apply from my memory card won't appear when the phone gets turned on again. It gets back to its "Nokia" theme. It works if I save it on my phone memory but it's quite an inconvenience since my phone memory is already low. everything was working fine before until just recently. Is there any way I could fix this? I'm starting to get annoyed seeing the default theme everytime I start my phone. Hope someone could help me with this. Thanks.

So the phone won't work with two different memory cards?
This points to it being a problem with the phone, not the cards.
You should contact the retailer or network about the fault or take your phone to a nokia care point.
Care points/service centres and repair info:
    UK • Europe • Asia-Pacific • USA •
Canada • Middle East and Africa
Elsewhere: Click here, select your country, go to the support section, then select repair.
To use a memory card in a PC to recover your files you need to use a card reader. They are quite cheap and can be found at most computer stores.

  • How do I import a P2 spanned clip?

    Hello,
I've not yet been able to find an answer to this problem - manuals/ websites etc.
I have a P2 spanned clip and would like to import it into FCP 5.
Please could you recommend the steps I should take, or perhaps refer me to a source that I might use to resolve this difficulty.
    Thank you

    Burping the import? Gross...
So it is creating QT files, but they are bad? Or do you have the red exclaimation points? Or does it fail to import?
