Sparks/lights inside WRT54GL v1.1

I have a WRT54GL v1.1 router that had been working for a while. It recently stopped working, and my attempts to re-flash the router seem to have made things worse.
Current status:
- The following lights are on immediately after powering on the router:
Ethernet 1, Ethernet 2, Ethernet 3, Ethernet 4, Internet
- The Power light blinks immediately after powering on the router
- The DMZ and WLAN lights stay off after powering on the router
In an attempt to diagnose the problem, I opened up the case (unfortunately voiding my warranty). After doing so, I was able to see that almost every time I power on the router, there is a very bright, brief light near the "Secure Easy Setup" button. The light only appeared if I left the router powered off for a few seconds; powering cycling the router immediately had no noticeable affect.
Upon further inspection, I determined that I was seeing two separate lights, one orange and one white. The orange light occurs between the LED9 and LED10 points on the circuit board; the white light occurs between LED11 and LED12. The lights are very bright if I wait several seconds between power cycles, but if I only wait roughly three seconds (the least amount of time I could wait and still have the lights turn on), the lights were very dim.
Unfortunately, I have no idea if this is something that's supposed to happen or not, it's just the only thing I have to go on at this point. Has anyone ever come across something similar to this? Linksys folk, is there any information you can give me that might help my search?

The router has been reset several times, and has at this point been turned off for a maximum of roughly two weeks. The only difference time has made thus far is whether or not the lights I spoke of in my first post turn on (and the brightness of said lights).

I assume you mean green reflection from the camera?
thats the AR coating on the lens.

Thin 'line' of light inside far left of earpiece?

Hey I have a 2G 8GB iPhone (I just got it yesterday) and realized that when the screen is on, there is a really thin line of light (from top to bottom) inside the earpiece on the far left side of it. When the screen turns off, the light inside the earpiece goes off too.
Is this normal? I've never noticed this before on friends devices.

I'm noticing the same thing with the black plastic piece on the back of mine. I have two small light leaks on the extreme right and left of the screen bewtween the screen and the ear phone. I wonder if this is something to do with the heat the phone gives off.

Mysterious red LED light inside my G4

Could someone tell me what the red light means on the inside of my G4?
It can't be seen from the outside.
I am having a problem with my firewire ports not working. Is this a warning or alert of some kind?
Help! I really looked and can't find this info anywhere!

Logic Board LEDs: Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics)
There is one red LED on the Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) logic
board. It indicates that there is power to the board and does not imply a fault condition. Hardware such as DIMMs and PCI cards should not be installed or removed when the LED is on.

Not sure what the origin of the problem is, but you should try deleting iDVD's preference files.
First, close iDVD and go to your Home(YourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.idvd.plist
Drag this plist file to the trash. iDVD will automatically create a new fresh one when you reopen it.
Open iDVD.
See if the main screen is now visible.
Post back if that did not help.

Red light inside headphone jack. no option for internal speakers.

what do i need to do?

A toothpick.
Get a toothpick and wiggle it around in the audio out port until you 'flip' the switch for optical/digital out. The red light should go off and you should be able to select your internal speakers again for output.

My speakers on my macbook receiently quit working after I had been using some headphones. My headphones still work whenever I plug them in with both increase and decrease in volume. I have also noticed a red light on the inside of the headphone jack.

My speakers on my macbook pro quit working the other day after using my headphones. when I try to adjust the speakers my screen indicator sayes that it is at full volume on the bar but also muted(circle with line through it). I also noticed a red light inside my headphone jack. My headphones still work including volume. Any quick fix?

Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Make sure Mute is not enabled.
2. Remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".

Headphone Jack Light + Internal Speakers Gone?

When I took out the cable to my speakers from my PowerBook's headphone jack I noticed a red light inside the socket. I plugged the cable back in and the light turned off but came back on about half a second after I took it out again. There is a small LED inside the hole and I have never seen it before. The computer also stopped playing sound out of it's internal speakers completely and in the System Preferences sound menu there is only a line-out option, no internal speaker one. It seems like the light is telling me that I have to plug in speakers to hear sound, but why? The laptop has always worked fine until now so what has made it suddenly do this and how can I get the internal speakers working again?

The light is a fiber optic fiber. Your jack has a dual use. You can use a fober optical cable to get a digital line-out. Your problem may be related, but that's what the light is so don't go sticking anything in there (such as a paper clip) as so many people tend to do for some reason.

Why don't embedded fonts work inside ItemRenderers?

I'm trying to use an embedded font on a spark label inside an item renderer for a list control and it doesn't work. Works fine everywhere else.

It was looking for the bold version of the font since it inherited it from the parent panel. But the embed by default embeds the "normal" weight.
In our project someone wrote a common panel component that sets the content of the panel using the "DefaultProperty" and we put our list in there. So you don't really think about the container that the List and ItemRenderer sit inside, and it was very easy to overlook.
This was very painful to figure out.

Red lights behind the power button

In reading through some posts last night I got the impression that I should be paying more attention to the lights inside the box, behind the power button, when booting (or I should say attempting to boot) my dual-core G5 PowerMac.
My observations this morning are that I see a big red light when the machine is first powered up from cold, and also when it is restarted. That goes off. A few seconds later, before the chime, I see a brief, much smaller red light flash in that same area. Almost a pinpoint.
Is that normal, or is it diagnostically significant?
(As noted in my earlier post today, I'm launching a final effort to fix this sick puppy before I give up and take it down to the Apple Store, but it needs to be a campaign of controlled baby steps.)

Hmm, on second thought I'm not so sure... but I don't have time to open the thing up right now and figure out exactly where each of those LEDs is. The drawings in that article and in my manual aren't terribly helpful.

Runtime error with Navigation lib & spark children in a viewstack

Hi,
As you probably know, in Flex 4, you have to wrap a spark component inside a NavigatorContent tag in order to use it as a viewstack child.

The problem is, if you want to use a waypoint for this viewstack, you'll get a runtime error. The navigation lib considers viewstacks children are Container but this is not true anymore in Flex 4. Viewstack expects its children to implements INavigatorContent.
I solved the issue by replacing Container references in SelectChildWaypoint with NavigatorContent. This means however, you won't be able to use this class anymore for Flex 3 projects. So I thought it would be better to have 2 classes derived from AbstractWaypoint: one to use for Flex 3 projets and the other one for Flex 4. A runtime version check could be done in the WaypointHandler.createWaypoint method in order to instanciate the good class. Thoughts?

Wow, this is amazing feedback with a working implementation and an isolated sample!
I've just committed a fix here. The fix to trunk does get around the issue with abstracting the Container reference on children to IAutomationObject (because the navigation library relies on automationName to find children) and DisplayObject (because in some situation we try to get the default index of a child via Container.getChildIndex(child:DisplayObject)).
What do you think of this change?
BTW: the latest trunk versions support both Flex 3 and Flex 4 with conditional compilation. In case we do find other situations where the navigation library needs to behave different between Flex versions, here's an example from the Observer lib on how this can look like:

Moved cd player to diff.shelf w/o removing discs,now door won't open,table won't turn,light flashes

Relocated without removing discs from large CD player,now door won't open, table won't turn and the light inside in center of table just flashes. Any suggestions as to can I fix this?

Follow the procedure below to troubleshoot this issue.
Turn off the disc player.
Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet.
Ensure nothing is blocking the tray from opening or closing.
Let the disc player remain without power for approximately one minute.
Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
Turn on the disc player.
Attempt to open or close the disc drawer or tray.
If the issue is not resolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service will be required .
