Sparks when connecting MacBook Air charger to the wall
Hi everybody. Today when I plugged in the MacBook Air power charger to the wall in my room I saw and heard sparks for the first time and the I noticed that the connecter ends of the charger have burnt a little (I see small black dents) but the charger is working normally. Shall I stop using the charger and buy a new one? I mean does this have any effect on the Macbook?

lets make sure, youre referring to the magsafe end that connects to the MAC, or to the 2 prong wall connector
which is it?
post a pic of the "small black dents"
otherwise use a regulated power strip in the location which has the faulty wall outlet you indicate.

If you're positive you have the correct cables, and positive they work, they must be plugged into an input on the TV made for that purpose, then that input must be selected on the TV's menu. -
I purchased my MacBook Pro 13" from the Apple Store in Tucson, AZ, in mid-January. Since then, every time the Mag-Safe cord is jostled, not even disconnected, sparks fly from the power terminal on the computer, the computer shuts down, and dumps its passwords, as well as the date and time.
Any work in progress is also lost.
I work overseas, and Apple's advice was to give them my credit card number, await shipment of a new power supply and cord, and then, when I return the old power supply and cord, i'd receive a credit. That won't work, as packages from the US to my location take weeks if they arrive at all. There is no Apple Store within a reasonable distance. Or, Apple suggests, when I'm home on leave in mid-June, I should bring the computer to the Apple Store for repair--I have only days in which to do that, but I suppose I'll need to try. My concern is that I'll need to return overseas without my computer and won't be able to retrieve it for months, until my next leave.
This issue shows up elsewhere online. Is there a short in the power terminal in the computer, or on the Mag-Safe power cord, or within the computer itself? It's a known issue, thus I wonder why it hasn't been fixed.Odd, but here's a copy of Page 1 of the links I got:

My Macbook air charges fine with the Thunderbolt screen connection but only sometimes with the 45 W chargers. It seems to be the combination of the chargers and the computer. I was thinking whether the Thunderbolt screen has a larger power supply which easier activates the computer to actually receive the charge. It reminds me a bit of the Nokia Lumia 800 telephone, which when totally exhausted needs a strong charger to be activated again. I am as frustrated as most others. I have got two chargers, and both of them sometimes work, other times not. Sometimes, they start working after a while. Is Apple meanwhile coming up with a solution or advice how to handle such situation?
I just got my ATD and late 2011 MBP up and running. I've not tried running without the power adapter from the ATD plugged in, but I just tried and didn't have any problems with the display not waking. What do you mean by "power surge alert"? What exactly does it say when you try to connect it? If you're talking about the message about a USB device drawing too much power, that can sometimes be caused by a bad cable or something stuck in the port. Do you have another cable you can try?

When I plug in my iphone to my macbook air it says the computer is not granted to take the iphone information. So I haven t been able to import the iphone information (like photos) to my laptop.
This is the first time it happened to me, because last week I could done that.

Thanks.Try unplugging any other USB devices. If you are using a hub, don't, connect the phone directly to a computer USB port.
None of these are necessarily things you should do, but might help. For instance, if you plug the phone to an already busy hub, the phone might be "the straw that broke the camel's back" and lock out the hub. -
My ipod nano 3rd generation, when connected by usb, does not show up in itunes, does not show up on my computer, does not seem to charge by the wall charger. It just has a black screen. Any ideas for me?
I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :( -

Sounds like you may have been in extended display mode. If so, all you had to do was drag a window to the projector display. Or, if you wanted mirrored mode, in display preferences select check mirror display.

i sent it to be unlocked... got back a dead iphone 5s...

I bought a used macbook air, with reinstalled the OS without iMovie. How can I get iMovie on App free of charge as a default in macbook air ?
Unfortunately, as recommended by the lady from CA, as long as the Mac is still associated with the Apple ID of the original owner, you can't even buy those iLife apps with that Mac. You will always get the alert to download them with the original owner's Apple ID.
As suggested by the chavo from España, you need the original owner to contact Apple Care* and request that the OS and the iLife apps be disassociated from his Apple ID. Then you should be free to OS X Recovery to resinstall the most recent version of OS X that shipped with the Mac and install the iLife apps. Afterward, before using any of the iLife apps you need to open the Mac App Store (MAS) to the Purchases pane and Accept these apps into your MAS account's Apple ID. If you use any of the iLife apps before you have accepted them into your account, as per the app's Terms of Use, they all become one-trick-ponies that can not be downloaded onto another Mac or updated.

When I attempt to re-download Lion to my MacBook Air I get the following error: localhost Install Mac OS Lion[436]: Retrying pisa://1183a0570:::/InstallESD.dmg after 1 failure(s). I am trying to re-install the OS after erasing having erased the drive. Any ideas?
I had the exact same issue; Lion recovery from Command + R would hang with the logs showing the same message. To resolve, I used Disk Utility to remove the recovery partition. My Air then used Internet Recovery to load all the tools. When using Reinstall via Internet it worked just fine.

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data then reselect it then restart your iMac. -

I can't help you with a direct answer. For third-party devices you should contact the vendor (Vodafone).
If you have an iPhone (or an Android phone with hot-spot capability) you can use that to connect to the Internet without paying for a separate cellular service.
