SPC/SQC Chart/Analysis problem

Hello to all,
I am new to xmii and I am trying to get started with the SPC/SQC Analysis tools. I have been able to get the chart to work but I am having trouble with Analysis block. I am not able to config the Analysis tool to work correctly. Is there any examples or documentation on the configuration and use of the xmii quality tools (beyond the online help in BLS) that I can use to configuration the tools correctly.

If you can get the iSPCChart applet to work, then getting the action block to work should be quite similar. Map in the same query and display templates from your applet, along with any Parameter overrides or linked in properties that you would do in either with HTML or JavaScript on a web page. If the templates work by themselves using the dynamic page generator then it should only require the configure dialog settings for the action block.
The output of this action block should be a multiple Rowset IllumDoc that looks just like the SPC Results output you get from the applet right-click menu (not the raw data - but the spc details).
To see the xml results from your applet, hold down the control key when you select SPC result details. This output should match the output from your SPC/SQC action block.

iChart is a graphical way of showing details in a dashboard.
You can use a bar chart to show Yield and Scrap across Time and you can use a Pie chart to show sales specific to regions...
Depending on your requirements specific iCharts can be chosen

Xacute SPC/SQC Analysis Action Output XML

I am using 11.5 and am going to implement some BLS's with the SPC/SQC Analysis action.
My question is how do I work with that XML Output from the Action. I need to look at one of the "Rowset" pieces at a time with an Iterator or Sort and Filter action but cannot get the actions to discriminate the Rowset I want. They all want to process a composite of the entire XML.
I tried to break up the output into 5 separate XML documents without success. I am sure I must be doing it wrong, there must be a way to work with it.
What is the best way to handle a compound XML output like the one from the SPC/SQC Analysis action?

You would need to repeat on a particular Rowset[n]/Row depending upon the information you are looking for.
For example ,If I remember correct, the third Rowset gives you the WECO violated rules.
Therefore if you are looking for violated WECO rules then you will have the following XPATH for the Repeater action
<Action Name>.Results{/Rowsets/Rowset[3]/Row}.

Implementing SPC/Control charts in Reporting Services/BI Solution

Hello All
I'm one of the BI specialists in our company - currently looking after our BI solution which incorporates SQL Server 2005, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Performance Point, Pro Clarity and various other bits and bobs etc.
What I'm aiming to do, is establish a suite of SPC/Control charts for our portal, based on the suite of cubes we already have. At the moment, I'm thinking of producing these in the SSRS environment, but I'm open to suggestions!
As a starting point, I've created the necessary charts in Excel (calculating averages, standard deviation, upper/lower control limit) etc, but now I'm looking at implementing it in our DWH.
Third party software may be an option (such as Dundas, which keeps cropping up in my crusades!) but I'd like to perhaps generate these myself - if I'm not asking too much that is!
Any advice greatly appreciated...

Based on your descriptions, you want to implement Statistical Process Control(SPC) chart in SQL Server Reporting Services. If I have misunderstood, please do not hesitate to let me know.
By default, we only have Column, Line, Shape, Bar, Area, Range, Scatter, Polar charts in SQL Server Reporting Services. As a workaround, we can anaylze the data using SQL Server Analysis Services, and then use these chart to display the data in SQL Server Reporting Services. We can use parameters to filter data.
Third party software may be an option. However, if you want to implement these charts by yourself, we can implement a custom report item in SQL Server Reporting Services. We can start it from here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345231.aspx

Spc control chart not showing UCL CL or LCL

Hi people,
I have an spc control chart within my app. However for some reason the UCL, CL and LCL aren't showing on my graph.
A brief background:
This is an app for people entering measurement data into several numberboxes the average of which goes onto the graph. These numbers generally vary from 32.0 to 28.0
The UCL is at 30.6 the CL at 30 and LCL 29.4 However none of these values are showing on the graph.
Has anyone used this control and know why I am having a problem here?

Thanks for the contribution however this didn't seem to work. It may be worth noting that I am not using a waveform chart and instead am using a "control chart" which is included in the SPC package.
If I could work out how I would include a picture of my current code however print screen seems to have stopped working (odd eh?)
Basically I have an array going into X and another array going into Y
There is a control which is generated by the control chart called control chart lines. I have hooked up my limits to this.
I can find very little documentation on this control and so have hit a bit of a wall

SPC XBAR chart showing target even after disabling

Hi All,
I am generating a SPC XBAR chart. I just need to show user specification limits. In that I unchecked show user target option. Still it is showing the user target on the applet. I even used the string <PARAM NAME="UpperShowUserTarget" VALUE="false"> within the applet. Still no change. I am using xMII 11.5. I would like to know whether this is problem with the version or not.

Hi Ravi,
I do not see any way to eliminate the Target from the Legend. It appears that if your Legend background color is the same as your chart background color, the Legend entry is not seen - I realize this leaves a "hole" in the Legend. I might consider setting "Show Legend" to false and creating my own HTML legend.

values are displayed in pie chart their label is not display.
So you're able to view the value and label information when you hover over a slice i.e. viewing the tooltip, but you can't see the actual label for each slice of the pie. If you're not seeing all of the labels for the slices of the Pie chart, then this could due to a couple of reasons:
1) the length of the label
2) the position of the label
3) the size of the chart
Keep in mind that displaying all 41 labels on the chart could result in an extremely cluttered looking chart. AnyChart controls the visibility of the labels, depending on the above factors. So if your labels are quite lengthy, for example, and they are positioned to be displayed outside the chart, then AnyChart will display what labels it can for the given chart size. To work around this, having tooltips enabled is a good starting point. Alternatively, you could look at decreasing the length of the label text, changing the label position or even increasing the size of the chart. For further information on the label formatting, I would recommend reviewing AnyChart's online documentation, here: http://anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/label-text-formatting.html?fromtree.

my question is how to calculate the number of the plant that sold to one classification of the
customer in BW.
for example;

customer's classification: 2000:A, 2001:A, 2002:B
transactions:
plant->customer
1000 ->2000:A
1000 ->2001:A

so the result is : the number of plant that sold to customer classification A is 2;sold to
customer classification B is 2;

Bubble chart legend problem

Hello.
I have problem with bubble chart the problem is that in chart legend appear the same number of object what bubble in chart e.g. if chart have 5 bubble then legend also have 5 object.
What do I want to obtain is that in chart appear bubble which have different color (color depends on condition) and legend relate only colors. For example if chart have 4 bubble 3 - red and 1 - green then in legend appear only two position which relate green and red color (now appear 4 object three about red and one green).
Can any one tell me how to resolve this problem?

I already did this I added three condition (three colors red, green and yellow) in field "Value of" I choosed "is equal to" unfortunately it didn't help.
Maybe I joust try to describe what I want to show in this chart.
Suppose I have table with four columns u201Cdateu201D, u201Camount (number type)u201D, u201Csize (number type)u201D, u201Crisku201D (text type) now where this value appear on chart:
- date is x axis
- amount is y axis
- size is a bubble size
- risk will be bubble color
Now I have 3 kind of risk u201CLowu201D (green color), u201CMediumu201D (yellow color) and u201CHighu201D (red color).
Now in my data base I have table with record:
- u201C11-11-2009u201D, u201C1u201D, u201C2u201D, u201CMediumu201D
- u201C12-11-2009u201D, u201C2u201D, u201C1u201D, u201CMediumu201D

Ok so now In My chart I should have 5 bubble and in legend three value (green, red, yellow) but in this case I always have five (the same number what record in table).

You need to do two things
1. Define char as SPC relevant and it should be of fixed scope.
2. Sampling procedure : Define a sampling procedure of fixed sample size and assign a chart type in sampling procedure.
Now you should be able get control chart for the char when inspection lot created

Web Analysis Problem using the "Send to Excel" service

I built reports using WebAnalysis 9.3.0.
I attached the "Send to Excel" service button to my report. I am using a combination of Excel 2003 & 2007.
I have the following settings in my webanalysis.properties file:
MaxDataCellLimit=200000
XLExportMaxRows=60000
XLExportMaxColumns=200
My problem is when I try to use the "Send to Excel" button. For "small" reports Excel opens quickly with my report information. Small being around 1,000 rows and 20 columns. If I add more rows, say another 400 or so - Excel never opens with my report information. Web Analysis sits there for about 5 minutes or so and does nothing. After that I can start using WA again - but no report in Excel.
I get the same result by right clicking on the report in WA Studio and selecting "Export Data..."
Any ideas?

Hyperion support suggested I try adding the Excel path to my webanalysis.properties file
So I now have:
ExcelPath=D:\\Progra~1\Micros~1\\OFFICE11\\Excel.exe;C:\\Progra~1\Micros~2\\OFFICE11\\Excel.exe
MaxDataCellLimit=200000
XLExportMaxRows=60000
XLExportMaxColumns=200
ResolveDimSetAliases=false
Where D:\\Progra~1\Micros~1\\OFFICE11\\Excel.exe is the path to Excel as installed on the server where WA Studio is installed.
And C:\\Progra~1\Micros~2\\OFFICE11\\Excel.exe is the path to Excel as installed on my laptop.
This did not correct my problem.
Am I using the ExcelPath=.... correctly?
I was not sure this would work since WA Studio successfully starts Excel for "smaller" reports. But I tried it anyway.
Any ideas?

Chart alert problem in BO 4.0

Dear Experts
We previously used BO XI 3.1 Edge series, Service pack 2. In this server we have develop some of the reports use alerts in line chart (Vertical Mixed Chart).
Now we migrate our server to BO 4.0 Service Pack 2. After migration complete we have seen that alerts of the chart is not working. and also we can not use alert in any chart in a new report.
Would anyone please help us to solve this problem.

Flash Chart Legend Problem

Hi,
Im having a problem with my flash chart legends in Apex3.0.
I have changed the name of the Series to what i want to appear in my legend - however the legend just shows "Value" for all my Series.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Chart flickering problem when updating members of dataProvider

Hi all,
I'm having an issue with a PieChart, where the dataProvider
i'm using is getting updated under the hood and it's causing the
labels to drop in and out. Specifically, it looks like in the
updateDisplayList() method of PieSeries, there's a call to clear
the "labelLayer". I could have sworn i'd seen an example of an
updating pie chart that did not have a problem of flickering
labels, but i can't seem to figure out how to get rid of this
annoyance.
Here is a sample application that demonstrates what i'm
facing. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the labels to stick
around yet display the updated values?

Please select the right Operating system and download the graphic driver and then update the Bios from the link given below and check if the issue is resolved.

Also easy to find out if this is a Hardware issue once unit is powered on keep tapping F10 key and see if the display is the same if yes you might have to replace the screen.

PsE 9 auto-analysis problems

PsE 9 is having problems when attempting to auto-analyze photos. The catalog I am working with is one created in PsE 8 and converted to PsE 9. No converson errors were reported. The catalog is about 91 MB is size and contains 16000 photos and a couple thousand video clips.
These are my Media-Analysis preference options...
     (enabled) Analyze Photos for People Automatically
     (enabled) Analyze Media for Smart Tags Automatically
     (enabled) All filters
     (disabled) Run Analyzer on System Startup
     (disabled) Run Analyzer only when System is Idle
Analysis will stop after it has processed what seems a random count of photos. I can monitor the progress by hovering the mouse over the purple tag on the bottom of the Organizer screen. I know there is an issue when the same photo is processed for more than the normal amount of time. Normally the photos are processed at more than one per second. I have waited for up to 10 minutes to process the same photo..
The ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe process exists in the Windows Task Manager. However the CPU utilization is at 0% when analysis is stalled.
Attempting to manually analyze a photo will result in a progress dialog to pop up and either it will show zero progress and hang or stop at 71%. I need to exit the Organzer, kill ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe, and then restart the Organizer to get it to work again. But then it starts analyzing from the beginning again and then stops after some time.
It looks like there is a memory leak in ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe. The VM starts at ~54 MB and keeps on growing with every processed photo. The size increases about 1 MB per second (about 15 photos).   The organizer stops showing progress after the ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe VM size reaches around 1.7 GB.

I'm trying to use the advertised feature to help me narrow down issues with photos. I've already got too many of them. I will take any help from an automatic tool by showing potential issues with photos. I can be the final judge if a photo is out of focus or is too dark. My plan is to filter by Blur for example. Then I can quickly assess all photos for this and remove photos that are clearly not desirable.
Many of the issues pointed out by John Rellis can be resolved by making your media read-only.
The large amount of CPU times issue point out by John looks like was resolved in PsE/PrE 9 by the new 'Run Analyzer only when System is idle".
I also use this for videos. The scene detect is great and helps me pick out clips as I am assembling my videos.
I had the impression that Adobe cleaned up some of the auto-analysis features with PrE 9 so that more people could take advantage of it, like I would like to.
