SPDD adjustment help

Hi Community,
I need help to clarify some spdd adjustmens....
On an upgrade on DEV system, we missed to implement a modification because on upgrade time, we understood on a semi-automatic adjustment -Phase 1 OK and Phase 2: Subsequent processing of table for adjustment-  A table which was generated corresponds with the current version of the table. So there is therefore no need to treat it and on "Proposal corresponds to current version"  ? button said The comparison of this table can then be exited with "Back".
Then we did not use buttons "accept Proposal" or "edit proposal", just push Back and get a new window with:
The adjustment proposal matches the current version of the table.
Do you want to reset the table to its original version?
We answered NO and continued with the upgrade phase, ignoring Modifications to the object were not adjusted message.
Now after upgrade, on SPDD still same objects like waiting for an adjustment.... but not sure i have to do it because of Proposal corresponds to current version message an moment we are now= upgrade is finished.... We are going too upgrade our QUA system on next days after check process.
1.- Should I adjust anything now?
2.- As I understood, SPDD adjustments must do on upgrade time, not after....isn't it?
Any help/suggestion will be gratefully.
Scottie

hello
answer in above thread holds good
Now if you are planning the landscape upgrade then it will be you can not use transport and automatically adjust SPDD now
May be you can do SPDD properly in quality and use that transport in production upgrade
Hope this helps

  • SPAU / SPDD Adjustment Problem

Hi to all and thanks in advance for reading my question.
I need to edit a program, but, when I try to, I get the message "EU 526" that instructs me that the object I'm trying to edit was already changed or enhanced and that this object has a new version imported to the system with a Release upgrade, and this new version was not reconcilied with the new version.
Ideed we have applied a support package and we are correcting a problem that were found in a standard, following a information sent to us from SAP.
Then, I go to SPAU to run the modification adjustment, but the object <b>isn't at the list of the SPAU objects</b>.
What I need to do in this situation? How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks again,
    Umberto

    Hi
    see the doc
What objects will come in SPAU and SPDD?
All the objects which are modified, after tansporting to the current system,
will be listed in SPAU and SPDD. SPDD contains the list of all modified Data Dictionary objects, like tables, dataelements, domains,view...etc. The rest of all the modified repository objects will be listed in SPAU.
What happens to the modifications done in the older version when we upgrade the version? (with Modification assistant and w/o)
After the initial upgrade happens, we have to do adjustments from SPAU/SPDD to maintain or reset the changes. That is, from the list of objects in SPAU/SPDD, you have to either carry forward the changes to the new version, by choosing the option ADOPT CHANGES (available on right click) or RESET TO ORIGINAL (available on right click).
Will they come in these transactions?
Ans: yes, they will be listed in these transactions, after the BASIS updgrade activity.
And what if we apply some patches(Notes) to the system? What is the impact of these patches to the SPAU transaction?
Ans: Patches will be supported by the version upgrade. In case of notes, we have to verify whether these notes are supported by the new version (you can go into http://www.service.sap.com/notes to verify this. Also, we have to analyze whther the code in the note is already incorporated in the new version. In this case you can ignore the chanes choosing RESET TO ORIGINAL option

  • SPDD Adjustment for Database indexes during the Upgrade

    Hi Experts,
I am currently upgrading our Existing ERP 6.0 SP13 to ERP 6.0 ehp 4.0 with SP 03 and NW 701. I am kind of lost on the SPDD modifications Adjustment. We have 4 objects are in the SPDD modifications under "Without Medications Assistant. All of them are related to Database tables, where our developers created indexes for SAP Delivered Database table object. All of them are YELLOW. If select one of them and go to "Adopt Medications", it brings a Dialog window with
"Database table BKPF. Adjust all objects selected subtree?" --> I clicked on YES
    I get the following
Database Table BKPF Table Index Z01
    background
The object has been modified without using the Modification Assistant.
Therefore no support is available from the system for transferring your
    modifications.
    Procedure
*[Subtree icon]* Before you adjust your  modifications, you can select multiple
    objects or a subtree.
*[Check Mark icon]*   If you have selected  multiple objects, you can skip the processing
    of this object.
You can use the "Processor/Status" function to add other processors.
If you have modified an object where multiple versions are possible,
then the last version that contains changes has been stored in "version
    management".
*[Pencil icon]* Otherwise, use your own  notations to transfer the modifications to
the new version of the object.
*[Check Mark icon]* After an object is  inserted in a transportable change request, the
red traffic light icon is replaced by the green checkmark in the tree.
If you do not want any modifications to be adopted, choose the "Reset
    to Original" function.
I clicked on the Pencil icon [PENCIL CHANGE] -> it takes me to that object where I DO NOT have any options to adopt the objects....
I am bit of confused, I should get an option to adopt this object, so I can keep the current version and SAP doesnt over write it after upgrade and delete my indexes.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong here.
    Thanks in Adamancy

  • Swf needs height adjustment - help a nOOb

Hi guys, i have an swf that was designed for me (don't know
flash) and i can't contact my designer - phone turned off, needs
this urgently done, how do i make the height of the flash bigger ?
There is adobe flash on the computer, I just don't know flash, if
anyone could help with this, i'd be very grateful. Thanks !

Thanks very much :o) I was hoping i could have this at the
right size so when it's played in adobe media player etc it's plays
at the right width/height. Unfortunately me = complete idiot where
    this is concerned.
If I'm making the flash larger via the website specification
won't the images turn out a little pixelated since the original is
smaller than what I'm enlarging it to ?
Thank you so much again for the help

  • "Continue Without Adjustment" - SPDD

    Hi Folks,
i always has this unclear doubt and question in our mind when doing upgrade. During Preprocessing phase, SAPup or SAPEhpi
prompt us for SPDD adjustment by logging to client 000 and continue with options
    i) Adjustment completed
    ii) Continue without adjustment
    iii) exit
After reading threads/discussion, guides, notes, it mentions is important to process SPDD here, otherwise we'll risk of losing data overwritten by SAP original objects.
However, my question is: Can I proceed with "Continue Without Adjustment" and perform the SPDD adjustment after the upgrade, just like SPAU?
I've tested and performed the SPDD after upgrade which looked fine. Appreciate if someone can enlighten me.
    Thanks,
    Nicholas Chang.

    Hi Sunny,
Thanks for your swift response. Your existence in SDN is awesome and you make a different here!
Agree and this is the conventional method for upgrade. However, we still able use option "Continue without adjustment" and perform the SPDD after upgrade? Theoretically, for eg:  an index was added to one table, and we still allow to adjust it after upgrade.
    Cheers,
    Nicholas Chang

  • Struck in SPDD phase while patch importing

    Hi,
While importing basis patches, struck at RUN_SPDD phase.
I cant understand what is this? will anybody explain that
    Regards,
    J Wang

    Hi,
If you have modified SAP objects, you must adjust these objects when you import them. Transaction SPDD adjusts Dictionary objects
If the patch upgrade is on a live system where users have customized and developers have created/modified programs, then you should do the modification adjustment. If its a fresh installation without any work done, you can ignore the modification adjustment.

  • SPDD issue

    Hi All,
I need  help regarding SPDD Adjustment Transport Request .
Now we are doing SPDD for Production system but the problem is
While adjusting the standard objects It asks for Transportable CTS but for any Z-includes or Z-objects created at this phase It is asking for LOCAL CTS .
Now the problem is We are unable to Merge both the CTS into One u2026because type is different ( We need one CTS for SPDD).
My Question is Why it is asking for Local CTS for Z-objects in Production System ..
    Thanks
    Bobby

    Hi Bobby,
check whether i have answered your questions.
"While adjusting the standard objects It asks for Transportable CTS but for any Z-includes or Z-objects created at this phase It is asking for LOCAL CTS . "
    A) If your Z* objects are under local packages then it will create local tranport. Make sure you are saving in the right transportable package (i.e ZPKG ).
"Now the problem is We are unable to Merge both the CTS into One u2026because type is different ( We need one CTS for SPDD)."
    A) You cannot merge because you saved the Z* objects changes to local transport.
"My Question is Why it is asking for Local CTS for Z-objects in Production System .."
    A) Check your Zobjects package i.e under which pkg your are saving. check in tcode:se80 to get more details of the Zobject you saved or check the attributes of the Z objects.
Once you are able to fix this local transport to Transportable request you can merge the transports.
    regards,
    Vamshi.

  • Extended Help on Gui

    Dear Experts,
We are searching for a solution to extend the Help option for the user.
For example start the transaction NE21N for creat purchase order and press on one of the F buttons to get more help on the transaction to a file in the server ( PDF file  or AVI file for explanations).
Please advise if you have done it in your system.
    Regards,
    Moshe

    Moshe,
Are you saying that the standard contextual online help is inadequate?  Normally, from any screen, when you select Help > Application help, you will be taken to the standard SAP Library entry for that transaction.  In most cases, this is adequate for the users.
IMG > General Settings > Variants to adjust help.  If there are no entries here, speak to your basis group.  SAP help files can be installed on a local server, and made available to users on your SAP system.
    Best Regards,

  • Regarding custom objects in SPDD

    Hi Experts,
I am working for an upgrade project from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. I need some clarifications regarding use of SPDD.
    1. Will the SPDD list only the standard objects or will it display the custom objects also?
    2. If SPDD is not going to display the custom objects, Can you throw light on how to work with custom  objects like custom tables.
For Example, If there is a change in the length of domain or data element used in a custom table during the upgrade, Is there any standard program or transaction to list or handle all such cases instead of doing it manually.

  • Application patch 29_ Modif. Adjust

    Hi,
I am applying application patch SAPKH47029 in my system.
I need some clarifications before confirming adjustments.
    1) In the spau tcode, its showing few note numbers with status "can't be implemented" few note numbers with "completely implemented" why its showing like this ?
    2) In the spau tcode, its showing some transport requests which are transported to this system under the programs and function groups. why its showing those transport requests?
    3) If i confirm adjustments, it will overwrite some objects which are already customized. to prevent this overwriting while applying this application patch, what can i do ?
    4) In the modification adjustment help, i am getting the following instructions
Ask the developers to adjust the modifications for their objects. After the adjustment is completed, the
developers must release their tasks and inform you. Modifications can be adjusted in any client.
but i am not getting how they will do the modifications for their objects ?
and why they need to do the modifications for their objects ?
    Regards,
    Gayathry.

Before performing the sp's you need to check your SPAU and see what are all the objects lying there for example some notes or fixes for the DD objects or Applications which were not supported  with your present sp level so when you go for next level of sp this all modifications or fixes wud/might be bundled together in the next release odf sp so you need to ask the dev team to check for that and ask them to create a new transport request under which they can make or store the changes they want in SPAU once you are done with ur sp's then you need to adjust the SPAU with the help of a developer.

  • Regarding 4.6c to ECC 6.0

    Hi,
We are starting the upgradition from 4.6C to ECC6.0,as a ABAP er what changes i need to do could you explain me with transaction codes
what is unicode and what is the neccessity of unicode for upgradtion
    Regards
    Raghava

    Hi,
When an upgrade has been carried on a system, large number of data dictionary & repository objects get affected in the newer version.
    1. You have to start with identifying the objects which have undergone a change. So run the transaction SPDD which provides the details of SAP Standard Dictionary objects that have been modified by the client. Users need to take a decision to keep the changes or revert back to the SAP Standard Structure. More often decision is to keep the change. This is mandatory activity in upgrade and avoids data loses in new system. Following links contains necesary documentation on SPDD.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2e/6d66617d9011d396b60000e82de14a/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2e/6d66647d9011d396b60000e82de14a/content.htm
    2. After completing SPDD transaction, we need to run SPAU Transaction to get the list of Standard SAP programs that have been modified. This activity can be done in phases even after the upgrade. Generally this will be done in same go so that your testing results are consistent and have more confident in upgrade.
Check the below link. It elaborates on adjusting repository objects.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c8/61ec66e33611d1954b0000e82de14a/content.htm
    3. Also check whether the custom programs have been copied properly. Remove any obsolete statements. Also replace the obsolete function modules. Function modules like WS_UPLOAD & DOWNLOAD have become obsolete in ECC 6.0.
    4. In case of BDC, compare the screen with the older version. There is a possibility that few fields would have missed out. You may have to do some tweking in the program too. Same is the case with sap scripts.
    5. Also make sure that the objects are unicode compatible.
Check out the below links for a detailed explanation in Unicode.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/3f2cadb35311d5993800508b6b8b11/content.htm

  • How to get list of modified repository objects in SPAU

    Hi,
While applying Support pack for HR (SAP ERP 6.0) I get SPAU prompt with message:
"The system detected that 10 of the repository objects in the Support Packages have been modified in
your system . Check whether you want to retain or restore these changes you have made. Fore more
info about performing modification adjustment see modification adjustment help..."
Now as I call SPAU i get the screen with following options:
    Correction in SAP Note
    With modification Assistant
    Without  modification Assistant
    etc..
Can someone guide me How to get list of modified repository objects in SPAU.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vishal

    Hi,
In SPAU you will get with modification assistence. just expand the subtree, and follw standard process .
This is to retain the enhancement. If there are any data dictionary related correction go to SPDD.
