SPEAKER blown out

Hi There ,
I have download the Dj app from app store and it blown my speakers,,I was surpriced as I thought Apple only allow safe apps in the app store,
Now my apple warrenty is over.I am wondering what would be the soloution?
I bought my iphone 4s from New Zealand and sent it to India. And apple care store in the India refused to touch my phone as they are saying that they only deal with software issues and not hardware stuff.

if it plays when you connect a headset to it the speaker is likely not blown and the app would have nothing to do with the issue

  • Does applecare cover a blown out speaker?

I've had my macbook air for a little less than a year and my applecare is for one year so does this cover a blown out speaker? Sound only comes out from the left side of my laptop and the speaker on the right side blew out.

One very small addition to Kappy's answer:
You must bring the AppleCare claim in the same country where the MacBook Air was purchased.

  • External Speaker gave out.

My external speaker gave out during a phone conversation on my 3 GS iphone.  I can hear through the internal speaker or with the earplugs attached.  I cannot hear through the external speaker nor does my phone ring so that I can hear it.  Is there a quick fix for this?

Hopefully someone will have a better answer for you. But if things are as they appear, your external speaker which is at the bottom of the iPhone is not working. The external speaker is part of the Dock Connector Complex. If still under Warranty or Apple Care, Apple will fix it for free. If no warranty then the repair is to replace the Dock Connector with the Speaker and Microphone already attached. The Speaker can be soldered itself if you are skilled and want a cheaper repair. Maybe someone here knows of a software fix, but sure sounds like your speaker is blown.

  • IPhone 5 left side of the speaker blew out

Just recently, my iPhone 5 speakers sounds a bit distorted or something. It sounds like only one side is playing and not the other. it sounds like the speaker was blown out. anyone know any solutions? nothing silly, i know iPhone 5 only has one speaker, but only one side of the speaker is working? the other side is not playing music at all. Does this Have to Do with Hardware or the Software? Please help!!

Does it play normally with headphones connected (can you hear both the left & right channels)? If so, try connecting/disconnecting the heaphones from the device a few times. Also try rotating the headphone plug back and forth a few times. Sometimes, dust/lint will get lodged in the headphone jack and prevent the contacts inside from working properly. When the headphones are removed from the jack, contacts inside the jack enable the speaker. This could be where the problem lies.

  • New 27" i7, left speaker blown, any ideas?

    Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, but I'm a longtime lurker
I fretted and worried over the arrival of my beautiful new 27" iMac, hoping it wouldn't suffer any of the issues I've been reading about on the forums. I breathed a sigh of relief when it came last Tuesday (2 days early) with perfect glass, perfect pixels, quiet hard drive, etc. I loaded all of my software from scratch, brought over all of my files, started up Final Cut and was ready to go.
Then I noticed wacky audio. It seems something is wrong with my left speaker. Even the slightest amount of bass makes the speaker put out horrible "vibrating and rattling" noises, sounds like the speaker is blown. Sounds bad across all programs (not isolated to Final Cut) but headphones sound fine. Opened up System Preferences and moved the balance all the way to the right, everything sounds perfect, but if I move the balance to the left it is very very noticeable.
I looked around on the message boards, found someone with an older iMac with the same problem, someone had suggested trashing audio preferences and zapping the PRAM, I did both of those. No luck.
I have an appointment tomorrow morning at the Genius Bar, we'll see what they say. I want them to fix +this machine+, not give me a new or refurb. Two months ago I took my 18 month old 17" MacBook Pro in to replace the graphics card (under warranty) and they ended up giving me a refurb (though they said previously they wouldn't). I had had a dead pixel and a small scratch on the top of the case and suddenly both of those items had disappeared! So that was happy for me in the end.
So, does anyone out there have any advice to give me before I lug my iMac to the Apple Store tomorrow morning? Are they likely to want to give me a new unit or fix this one? Any magic words I should say to the Genius (besides please)? Anyone else out there have any experience with this same problem?
Any thoughts, ideas or moral support would be appreciated! Thanks!

The guy at the Genius Bar was pretty quick to agree with me that the speaker was blown. I was a little worried because the Apple Store was quite loud, I wasn't sure if he would be able to hear the speaker noise (he said he would take the iMac to the back if necessary).
I knew the "bad sound" only happened when you played music or sound with a little bit of bass, so I planned ahead and created a "Bad Speaker Mix" in iTunes in preparation for my appointment. I pulled about 8 songs that sound particularly horrible on the speaker. The first thing the tech guy did was open up iTunes and start playing random songs, but he wasn't replicating the noise. Then I pointed out the Bad Speaker Mix and that did the trick.
The Genius said that if this was an "in-stock" build, they would just give me a new machine. But, I have a i7 (and a 2 TB drive) so the only option is to have my machine repaired. They didn't have the part in stock, it needed to be ordered. I was allowed to take my computer home, they'll call me when the part has arrived (should be here today or tomorrow). He said the repair will be done in-store and should take a couple of days. He also mentioned that they repair computers 7 days a week, so there's no slow-down in the repair system.
Overall, I was very pleased with the whole experience. The appointment took about 10 minutes, everyone was extremely friendly and explained the repair process quite well. In the end it sounds like I'll only be without my computer for a few days (I was happy to hear they do small repairs like this in the store, less chance of shipping accidents and quicker turnaround time)
Big Ben, it sounds like your speaker problem is a bit different than mine, are you able to replicate it easily? Just keep in mind that these Genius Bar appointments are fast, so planning ahead helps you out!
I'll post again once my computer is all fixed up, good luck Big Ben!

  • IPhone SPEAKER§ BLOWN?

There can be no way that my speakers are blown because of me I have only played sound out of them twice and at low volumes. I bought the 8gb iphone and when I play music I hear a rattling noise coming from the speakers, You know a blown out speaker noise. I have no clue how this can happen cause I only played music once before this. I restarted my iPhone and still the blown out speaker noise. What I want to know is should I tell apple or is this not a problem at all and apple just put crappy speakers into my $600 dollar phone. If so then I would like a refund if anything at all, or a new phone and not a refurbished one.

The iPhone does not have speakers as in plural. The iPhone has a single speaker and the other that appears the same is a microphone. This is included with the User's Manual which is available as a PDF download.
What you have is a defective speaker which is not normal and is covered under warranty. How can this happen? Easy since human beings are involved and unfortunately things like this make it past the quality control procedures on occasion. It happens.
If your iPhone was purchased within the last 14 days and you live near an Apple Store, take your iPhone along with the box and everything else that shipped with it to the Apple Store. Your iPhone should be exchanged for a new one on the spot since it is so new. If purchased greater than 14 days ago and/or you don't live near an Apple Store, call AppleCare - (800) 694-7466 to report this.

All of the music on my Ipod Touch is blown out after I synched it with my new MacBook. I didn't get the 'synch' warning-- but now can't find my library of songs. I'm about to panic!

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not inlcuded synced media like apps and music. Thes those iTunes are not restored to the iPod unless they are in the iTunes library.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Image from LR in blown out more in Bridge Camera Raw

    Hello, thanks for reading...
I was just about to post this question, when I think I stumbled upon the answer, but I am not sure... so I decided to post anyway, for input.
After completing adjustments to my .cr2 (Canon 30D) images in LR 2.2, I decided to check my images in Bridge (CS2) Camera Raw, since my client uses that program. The highlights in my images are definitely more blown out than they appear in LR. I determined this by viewing the image with the highlight clipping turned on, and could see much more clipping in Camera Raw. I have turned off automatic tone adjustments in Camera Raw preferences. I am on an 2.4 ghz Intel iMac running 10.5.6, 4 gb ram.
What I finally noticed is that in the Camera Raw "work flow options" I had sRGB EIC61966-1 selected as the color space. When I switched it to ProPhotoRGB, the clipping was nearly identical to LR clipping. My client goes to print in Adobe1998, but that color space setting showed more clipping than LR. With ProPhotoRGB being the LR space, is this causing problems for my client?
I will be the first to admit that the topic of color space confuses me... any suggestions? (Besides the obvious, "read a book/ take a class/ suffer like the rest of us" suggestions...)
    Thanks again, Jerry

    Most welcome, and good luck.
If you do not get help in the Bridge Forum (do not know who the MOD's are there), please do not hesitate to ask that the post be Moved, to say the Adobe Camera RAW (ACR), or Photoshop Forum. That is easy for a MOD to do.
However, in your specific case, I could see three likely candidates for the post.
Still, Bridge Forum is a great place, and you should get help quickly. If not, just let one of us know, as we stand ready to help you, best we can.

  • Blown out images in ACR 6.7

I previously shot with a Canon 5D and had no problem using ACR.
Now, I purchased a Mark III. The histogram and flashing white highlights are perfectly exposed on camera. (And also in the Canon software). When I open in ACR 6.7 everything is totally blown out. Why? All updates are current for ACR and Photoshop (CS5). Help!

Your ACR tone settings seem like the normal defaults for Process Version 2010.  The PV2012 in CS6/ACR7+ or LR 4+ have an automatic slight highlight compression that can’t be turned off, so would look better, and then the toning controls in PV1012 are superior according to most people.
I don’t have a 5D level camera, but according to the manual, ALO is on the second of four setup pages under the Camera settings tab, between ISO and WB.  See page 144 in the PDF of the manual available, here:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_5d_mark_iii#Brochu resAndManuals
There is also Highlight Tone Priority that underexposes in the camera to preserve highlights, then digitally boosts the ISO on darker areas, to even out the exposure.  If your pictures were too dark coming into LR that would be the problem but you’re having the opposite issue.
Are you judging your on-camera-screen exposure using the camera’s histogram or just by eyeballing the LCD rendition of the picture and lack of highlight warning blinking?
The Picture Style in the camera can also affect things and if particular colors are being clipped that can be the ACR camera profile you have selected.
Basically turn off everything in the camera that fixes things for JPGs or is some sort of brightness, contrast, or color customization beyond neutral settings (because those affect the in-camera preview, Canon-produced JPGs, but not raw files), and then perhaps set your camera profile in ACR to Camera Standard and see if things match better.
It is possible that your new camera has more dynamic range and ACR isn’t dealing with it any differently than your old camera but you’ll see more things clipped.
Without having the camera and raw files in ACR to play with, it’s hard to guess what might be occurring.
I would recommend updating to the current version of PS, which is either CS6 for $200 before the end of the year or CC which is $20/mo, $10/mo-first-year, to get the newer PV2012 toning model, or buy Lightroom for less than $200 and use Edit In Photoshop with LR Adjustments (rendered into TIFs on the way into PS).

  • Fix for Blown out footage?

    Hello all.
I have to edit some footage shot by a cameraman who was basically clueless and did not know how to operate the iris on the camera... All of the people shot, look like ghosts.. the footage is very blown out...
I know there is no true fix to make the footage look 100% better, but there has to be some tweaking I can do...
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience repairing blown out footage and what exactly (filters, adjusting, etc.) they did to make it look somewhat better...
And suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks.
    Justin

    Justin,
More than likely, if the footage is way over exposed, there's no information there on the tape to actually do anything with. Try using the 3 way color corrector to see if you can do anything with brightness and contrast.
What was it shot on? Mini-dv? Betacam Sp? The better the quality format, the more information you may have laid to tape, which will help. (Better color sampling=More information to tape=better color correction ability)
Also, if that doesn't work, depending on the subject matter, you could possibly thinking about making it a really funky video. Thats usually not the best option, but if its a music video or something along those lines you might could tweak the color, to make it all purple or all green or something crazy, and/or do a negative effect on it. Or really funk it up with a old film look and stuff. I'm just throwing out suggestions. I hate doing that, cuz its usually way overdone, and I would consider it the very last option if you can't reshoot. But usually, if it looks like crap to begin with, you've got nothing to work with but crap.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris

  • Saving jpegs or pdfs from aperture completely blown out since upgrade

since the upgrade to mavericks the saving on Aperture doesnt perform.
Highlights are blown out beyond recognition.  Saving books ( pdfs to jpegs) - complete nightmare, can barely see the photo
Saving a jpeg - doesnt work - again highlights blow out picture beyond recognition.
You can see a vague outline of some of the picture but its like the luminence or exposure has been taken up 50 points.
I have noticed if i redit the photo from scratch then all if fine - but I cant do that with my workload - its like reediting a whole project - Anyone else got this stupid problem?  Is there a CURE?

Saving books ( pdfs to jpegs) - complete nightmare, can barely see the photo
How are you saving your books? By printing the book to PDF?
Saving a jpeg - doesnt work - again highlights blow out picture beyond recognition.
And how are you saving jpegs? File > Export? And use a JPEG preset?
What is your Aperture 3 version, and what is your MacOS X version?
I suspect you are having a problem with a wrong color profile when saving your books or jpegs.
What is the color profile used in the Export Preset you are saving your JPEGs with? set the export Preset to "Edit" to be able to inspect the details.

  • When I open images in Photoshop CS6 they are completely blown out and color  posterzation like appea

When I open my images in Photoshop CS6 they appear considerably blown out - none of the foreground has color and detail seen here-but you can see a posterize like appearancin the sky. The same thing is happening in Lightroom 5.

The work files are tiffs 16 bit - anything that opens in photoshop has the
same look -jpg,psd etc. My images are printed as digital C print by a lab.
I haven't intentionally changed anything since yesterday when I was editing
images. The appearance is the same in Lightroom where my digital image are
stored. I also have scanned film image that open in adobe camera raw.So
whatever is happening occurs both in Photoshop and lightroom.
You suggest a monitor setting, worth exploring, but could a monitor issue
    affect only photoshop/lightroom doc.
    Thanks to PhotoRoy

  • Nikon RAW NEF files have white balance blown out (iPhoto 7.1.4)

I had no problems opening my Nikon D200 RAW NEF files in iPhoto until about a month ago. I think I downloaded a patch for compatibility of camera files? After that when ever I open A raw file, the colors and white balance are blown out.

I was unable to get my images to appear as I shot them. I shoot with a Nikon D80 and shoot with a Vivid setting. Now after shooting a wedding of more than 1500 images I have to find a way to color correct them all. I have attempted the downgrade to the previous version, unsuccessful. I have forwarded on my comments to apple and find that this issue effects tens of thousands of photos. As a MFA student at a major university, and studying color management and workflow, I feel I need to look elsewhere for file management as iPhoto is not able to do the job and the fact that it affects my entire library system of photos... simply unacceptable. I have always found the discussion groups extremely helpful, but this issue has effected so many of us and is such a huge integral part of the photographic process that I need to look to other programs to effectively handle my color management.
    Disappointing.

  • In premiere pro 2.0::: captured audio is blown out.

Audio was was recorded at wedding reception for dancing. There was a line out from DJ and a line from camera. Both sounded great when using headphones at reception. The two lines combined and formed one when capturing into a project in premiere. That wouldnt be a major problem if the audio didnt get blown out upon capturing.
My question is... Does anyone know how to reduce the bass in blown out audio to fix it and make it sound cleaner. Help would be appreciated.
    Thank you. Provideo Productions. Merissa.(Editor).

The two lines combined and formed one when capturing into a project in premiere.
That just doesn't sound possible using Firewire.  So I'd ask how exactly did you capture?
