Speaker Feedback on shutdown

Hello,
Got a strange one just bought a K7N2 Delta L. Not using the onboard sound and it is disabled I have a Creative Live Platium Card and Live drive. And everytime I switch off the computer just after the shutdown tune I get massive speaker feedback. Anyone else had this problem and got a solution?

Crucial 9700 Pro Catalyst 3.7
Sound Blaster Live Plat.

Windows XP SP1 ;(

Hi Maul_UK,
I assume that you are talking about a high pitched whine from the speakers attached to your sound card. This suggests that you have an input device such as a microphone also attached to your card.
If this is the case, then you should lower the microphone volume in Windows > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices (or your sound card's preferences). Keep turning it down until the whining desists.
Feedback is usually caused by either your microphone being too near your speakers or the microphone's input volume being too high, this causes a negative feedback "loop" between microphone and speakers. Moving your microphone further away from your speakers (or vice versa), or turning down microphone volume should fix it.

  • Inspire P7800 Headphone mic is getting speaker feedback which distorts sound

My P7800 works fine my problem is in a game I get distorted sound from speaker feedback to the mic. Any solution?

    Heh,
Well one of the reasons I bought the speakers was because my friend gave me a copy of FarCry he got bundled with something he bought. But now FarCry wont install heh, so I can't test it on that. I am trying to think of other games I have that use surround..hmm maybe HL2 does. I will do some more testing and wait a couple days to see what you guys think. If worst comes to it I will just buy a soundcard aimed at 7.1 .
    Thanks for responding jimby

  • Possible ways to end speaker feedback, echo

After I got my iPhone 5 (white, 64 GB, iOS 6) several weeks ago, I was surprised when others said my voice sounded muffly and they were experiencing feedback and echo. When I put them on my speaker, their voices sounded tinny and harsh. Turning down the volume helped, but didn't eliminate the problem.
After some research, I changed several things on my iPhone 5. All is working perfectly now. No feedback. No echo. Incoming speaker voices are normal and clear.
FIRST: in Settings > Music > Volume Limit > on > adjust to about 3/4 of max.
SECOND: I took off my TPU case and put on a shell. Reason: Research brought out the concept of feedback caused by cupping the hand over the speaker/mic area so sound would transfer from one to the other.  Most cases surround the lower speaker/mic area with up to about 1/8 inch-deep of case material. This, I thought, might do the same as the cupped-hand phenomena, especially since the speaker and mic are considerably larger - and closer together - than on earlier iPhones.
THIRD: I make sure the volume is set so the speaker voice sounds normal for incoming calls. Before, it was tinny, scratchy and harsh - hard to listen to. Seems to be working.

This is (sort of) what Frugalware does. I bet that command you wrote doesnt work for all packages. I bet it doesnt work for most of them actually.
I dont like this because its not guaranteed to work for "ever" and maintaining such scripts is a waste of time.
Furthermore, many packages just announce new releases. On mailing lists, sourceforge, freshmeat etc
On one hand, it is time-consuming to fix a script and even more annoying to find out that it broke down for some stupid reason.
but on the other hand we'd have to consider how much we'd gain from that. I am not sure whether it is worth it, since i am not a package maintainer, but i bet someone like Jan de Groot who is maintaining almost a thousand packages might find that handy.
The point with the mailing lists and freshmeat and sourceforge and stuff is that unfortunately it just sucks to assemble all this information along with all the crap you don't actually like to have. there are some projects which have a low-traffic, release only mailing list, but unfortunately not all of them do
    hm,
    anyway, cheers

  • Windows Vista Speaker Feedback

I have a Macbook Pro 15.4" 2.4GHz and have been running MS Windows Vista on Bootcamp. When I boot into Vista, I can always hear a high pitch feedback when I place my hands over the left speaker or whenever the lid is closed. I don't have the same problem when running OS X Leopard.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks

  • Internal speaker feedback to internal microphone

Our PowerBook G4 recently started to emit loud high pitch noise from the left speaker when one puts one's hand just above it or when playing i-tunes above mid-volume. It did not previously do this; not sure if it started after we did a software upgrade. It sounds like feedback from the internal microphone to that side speaker. This seems to be confirmed by plugging in an external speaker which causes the noise to stop. Can this be fixed? How does one turn the internal microphone off?

Unfortunately I have already been to the Sound control panel. Reducing the input level to the minimum is not low enough to prevent feedback once the speaker volume is above about 60%. As for switching to "Line-in" the option does not exist, the only option is "Internal microphone". However, I am quite certain that once upon a time that option existed. Again my most likely suspects are either an OS (10.5.8) or iTunes (9.2.1) software update, a hardware problem with the input jack (perhaps it disliked the impedance of a standard 3.5 mm TRS stereo plug microphone I tried to use), or a setting of the Audacity (1.2.1) sound recording software which I was experimenting with, which has removed the "Line-in" option from the Sound control panel.

  • Maxx hd speaker feedback issue

i just got my phone in February everything works fine. and everything is up to date as for as OS and phone and all that good stuff.
I have sound people can hear me i can adjust volume. my issue is that randomly there is feedback from my speaker phone.
for example my phone will be sitting there screen off not listening to music no calls just sitting there. I go to pick it up and i get this ear splitting feedback sound. if i blow into the microphone  and it can be heard coming out of the speakerphone speaker. i can usually get this to stop by making a call (i've just been calling voicemail) and the feedback stops. i can put it down and it's fine. can get texts and calls and no issue this can last anywhere from minutes to days. sometimes though i put it down, no feedback get a text pickup the phone and BAM feedback within a minute.
i've searched the internet and can't seem to find anything about this problem. is it just my phone? i get regular texts and texts from viber so could viber be giving me this issue? (same notification sound for viber and regular texts)

Mmike89, thank you for sharing your issue with your device. This does sound strange and sounds like an issue in the hardware. I checked and I'm not showing this issue being reported. I don't think an app would be causing this, but you can try uninstalling Viber temporarily to see if it still occurs. Also make sure to reboot after re-installing. If still having the issue, then it sounds like the phone needs to be replaced.
    Thank you,

  • Speaker feedback problems when receiving a text during a call

    Hi,
Whenever I receive a text message during a call, I hear a very loud feedback sound through the handset speaker just before I see the visual notification that I have received a text.  This happens everytime without fail.  The sound is exactly the nasty screeching sound of a hot mic when it gets too close to a speaker.  It is startling and very annoying, and also can be heard (although less startling) when I use my earbud headset.
Does anyone else have issues with this?  I did update to iOS 5.0.1 two day ago, but I also had this problem from the very beginning, with iOS 5.0.

You have to have "Push" messages turned on. Settings>Notification Center>  scroll down to iMessage and set the kind of Alert, etc. that you want. There is also a Turn off in lock screen switch that may be turned to off.

  • T61 speaker feedback/whine

I have a T61 7659-12U that has developed a whine from the left speaker. When I have it plugged in to the AC cord it is constant. When on battery power, I only get it when the system plays a sound. The hiss/whine accompanies the sound. I tried replacing my speakers, but to no avail. I read that the microphone can cause feedback so I disabled it through Control Panel. The sound is still there. Any other suggestions?
I am running Win 7 32 bit. I have updated all drivers and bios from the Lenovo site.
Just remembered- I get this feedback/whine through the headphone jack as well. Not just the laptop speakers.

Can be a hardware problem too.
    Best regards.

  • Sudden, freaky speaker feedback and weird sound?

I have a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo 15" MacBook Pro with 2 GB memory, running 10.6.7.
I record a lot of voiceover on this machine via Sound Studio and Audacity (and sometimes Garage Band) and a USB microphone to use in Keynote videos and presentations.
Everything has been working perfectly until all of the sudden, when I open any music related program or plug in a USB microphone the computer makes a loud freaky feedback echo noise. Almost like you hear at a concert when they get too close to the speakers. You can only hear it if the computer volume is in the middle or higher and it does get louder or softer with the by increasing or decreasing the volume.
Now, I thought this was a problem with one of the music related programs (Sound Studio, Audacity, Garage Band) since it only seemed to happen when they are open....
But, yesterday I was closing the laptop with NO programs open at all and RIGHT BEFORE the lid closed and the computer when to sleep, the speakers made the sound. Again with NOTHING open or running.
So I'm at a loss. The sound is now occurring randomly. Do I have bad speakers or something else going on?
Any thoughts or help is GREATLY appreciated.

Yeah I had tried that before, no dice on that though. Thank you anyway.
I actually have seemed to have fixed the problem! I muted Stereo Mix in recording control.

  • Speaker Feedback!!!

Anyone getting feedback from their computer speakers. I have my phone next to my computer and I keep getting a buzzing noise when the iPhone is sitting next to the computer. If I turn on the iPhone and unlock it I get lots of feedback. When the phone is in sleep mode I don't hear anything. I am just wondering if anyone else is hearing this. Thanks guys.
BTW: I am using the 5.1 Klipsch Speakers via (Optical Cable)
    Dual 2.0 PowerMac G5

Heh, well, yes, I've found the sweet spot where I don't here it as much... it's on the other side of my desk... not the most convenient for grabbing and using during the day.
My larger problem is in the car where I use a tape adaptor and I have a theory on this: because of the dumb design of the headphone port I had to use one of those Belkin adaptors ($10 from the Apple Store)... When I hear the loud buzzing start, if I grab the adaptor sticking out of the iPhone, it signficantly lessens the noise (to a level I can tolerate). So I'm wondering if this stupid adaptor is acting like a big antenna for the annoying buzz.
Moreover, I could live with it if I thought I had any control over it... I've tried turning off Wi-Fi thinking that might be the cause (nope), I tried turning off bluetooth for same reason (nope); I tried setting my mail to check only manually (partially helped, I think, but inconclusive at best). I spoke to Apple technical support about it and they didn't have any answer for me. With 1 million of these things reportedly sold, I have a hard time believing that there isn't more of a vocal majority problem about this issue. It's the lack of outrage that makes me think mine might be worse than others as I wouldn't have posted in the first place if it was just a minor low level buzzing.
I pray for an update that will signficantly lessen it or some kind of confirmation that I've got a bad unit (which will come next week when I can experiment with my coworkers iphones).

  • Speaker feedback Tecra M5

I have started receiving feedback from speakers when I turn the volume up. I have tried to restore my computer to a time before the problem started. This did not work.If I mute the speakers the sound goes away but I enjoyed being able to make calls on my computer without carrying a headset and mic.
Please help with any suggestion to fix problem.

Have you tried turnning off the miscrphone? this will cause the feed back if it close to the speakers or if the gain is to high.

  • Right channel headset speaker audio very feable

Recently I noticed that sometimes when I boot into my Arch linux, I find the audio very much faint in the right channel of the headset. The left channel is loud and clear. I tried with another good headset. Even with that the right channel audio is very low. My laptop has two audio jacks for headsets. The behaviour is the same in both the audio jacks.
However, there are no issues with the laptop inbuilt speakers. The problem only comes with a headset. I have done 'speakertest' to make sure that it is not the issue with the media player I am using.
The problem will disappear when I restart my machine. But will suddenly come in some random day. And I will have to restart to get that fixed. Is there a way to fix it once and for all?

... any way to "unlock" the left channel?
    Head phones or external speakers.
    The "latest version"
    b does
provide sound to both left and right side through the head phones jack or via the USB port if you use USB speakers.
You are correct that Apple keeps one speaker quiet on the laptop to reduce speaker feedback to the microphone given the physical size of Mac laptops.

  • Feedback from iPhone on Speakers

Does anyone know how to get rid of speaker feedback? I get it on any speaker I am near - computer, portable unit and car radio.

One thing that might help out.
When any phone is accessing the edge gsm network, you can hear a low pulse if you are next to any speaker that does not have shielded cables.
    Hope this helps.

  • Strange things with keyboard

strange things with keyboard happens on my macbook - after cleaning keyboard (rag with spirit) I start mac and get sticky key (continuously type one letter and beeping on speaker). I shutdown mac, remove key and clean space under it... it helps - but I found other strange bug:
pressing left shift - gives me capital letter "O"
    letter "O" - always capitalized
    | symbol always comes with return button
now I use external keyboard - all good on it... but macbook keyboard still wont work properly
what can it be? how fix it?
    ps: sorry for my eng

thanks for your reply, and you might be right about using USB v2.0. The PS/2-USB adapters I am using are v.1.0 so may be incompatible, even though this technology is supposed to be backward-compatable.
Since this problem reared its ugly head, I have disabled the Toshiba applications and monitored the situation - OK so far, but I will keep an eye on it.

  • Creative Desktop Mic?

    Hi,
I have a "Creative" Desktop mic and I cant seem to get it to work?
Its pure white and says "Telex" on the bottom?
Do i need some Drivers or anything like that?
If so, I am Running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Re: Serious Microphone woes (Vista 64 + X-fi Fatalty)r Well it turns out I found the solution to my own problem, although why this doesnt happen in Vista 32 I don't know.
I right clicked on the speaker icon, selected *PLAYBACK*? Devices (yes playback, not recording - go figure). Double-clicked on the speaker, selected the "Levels" tab, scrolled all the way down to the end, set the microphone levels to 00% but also muted it by clicking the little speaker icon. Voila. Microphone works in Ventrilo / Skype but I get no speaker feedback.
I still think this is a bit odd that I never had this problem in Vista 32 or earlier versions of the driver, but I am just happy to have a solution that works.
