Speaker issue in nokia e5

i had a very strong impression of nokia that nokia makes study and good quality phones, that was the reason i have been using nokia phones for last 8 years. but nokia e 5 has harassed me mentally like anything. My phone got replaced by nokia, my keypad got changed, my lcd got changed and after all this the phone had speaker problems. My speaker has been replaced not once but thrice and again the the same problem erupts after two three months. dont i have any work apart from running nokia care throughout the year.

The speaker makes noises as if it has some disconnection from the phone. Then i have to manually press the speaker area and it fine after that. Sometimes it even goes blank, and again i have to press the speake area to make it normal. The volume fluctuates automatically but bot everytime.
I know if i go to nokia care they will replace my speaker. They have done this several times but the problem arises again and again after 1 or 2 months.
So i have stopped goin to Nokia Care.

  • IPhone 5 battery life and speaker issues

Hey guys. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but firstly. The battery life *****. And really *****. I let phone completely drain at least twice a month. Then fully charge it. Not a huge user but data I know eats it. We are talking literally within two hours of not using it and it will be down to 59%. Didn't expect this off a phone like this. iPhone 4S beats it hands down. Considering going back to it tbh.
Speaker issues are terrible. Tried the music on full pause. Then exit. Then test but still nothing. Rang apple they say its not a fault but why would other people be reporting it.
iPad 4 users. Do you have issues with battery life too? And very slow charge and very quick drain. This is a joke. Nearly a Grands worth of kit and you feel like your using a Nokia 3310.
    #annoyed!

If tried techniques to get the battery to act right, such as rebooting by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, and those things haven't helped, take the iPhone and iPad to the Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test them to see if there is a hardware fault.  Do that before the warranty runs out so you are covered.

  • Speaker issue after Mavericks Upgrade

I recently upgraded to Mavericks on my Mac Pro (mid 2010 ver.)
Now when I try to listen to Pandora, iTunes, or anything that pushes sound thru the O/S, the sound "jumps" between my Bose 5 companion computer speakers (USB) and the internal Mac Pro speakers.
Additionally, when I go to Preferences-----Sound, you can literally see the O/S jumping back and forth to these two rows  "Built In   Internal Speakers" and "Bose USB Audio    USB". More specifically, you will hear the music thru the Bose speakers and then about every 20 seconds (sometimes it goes for over a minutes) it will "beeeeeeep" and then jump to the Mac Pro internal speakers.
I tried deleting the two .plist files as previous mentioned in past threads with no luck. Before I upgraded to Mavericks I never had ANY sound/speaker issues what so ever.
    Any suggestions? Thank you

    Update Saturday Jan 4, 2014
Before my Mavericks upgrade on my Mac Pro, no problems ever (use my Mac 4-8 hours a day) using my Bose Companion 5 USB connected speakers. I've tried shutting the Mac down and plugging the Bose USB cable into another open USB port = no joy and other combinations. I tested the same Bose Companion 5 USB speakers on two other laptops with NO issues (ouch...they were running Windows 7) I have deleted the two .plist files, did the CMD+OPT+P+R reset, etc... = no change. Looked into Midi Audio Setup and did not see anything in there to change even though I tried a couple of things and no avail (there was no Garageband setting/entry).
I still get a solid "BEEEEEEEEP" sound every 20+ seconds, when the sounds tries to toggle, by itself, between the Bose USB Audio device and the Internal Speakers.

  • Palm TX speaker issues

Ok.  First of all, I have to admit to still loving my Palm TX even though Palm has abandoned the stand-alone PDAs.  That being said, I'm still troubleshooting my Palm TX speaker issues.  I previously had no sound from the headphones or built-in speaker.  I have replaced the built-in speaker, but nothing changed.  Lo & behold when I look at the headphone jack one side is disconnected from the motherboard.  When I physically hold the headphone jack in place, I can get some sound from the headphone jack (left headphone when headphone is completely inserted, right headphone when partially inserted).  However, no matter what I cannot get any sound from the built-in speaker. I have tried canned air & WD-40 & when I have the TX disassembled, I can see the headphone switch (at least I think it's the headphone switch) moving on/off.
Now, if I solder the headphone jack onto the motherboard will this complete the connections for the built-in speaker (so that the TX will work as originally manufactured)?  Or should I try to find a headphone jack replacement?  I've searched for a motherboard replacement but this seems cost prohibitive since everything else is in perfect working order.
Thanks in advance for your help/assistance.
    Post relates to: Palm TX

It would be my best guess that if you repair the broken headphone jack, it will return normal operation of the speakers.

Yes, so long as it's within the original purchase year (ie, the purchase from Apple, not from your friend).

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs

FSoundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs? ?
    Greetings..
Running into a bit of a issue here I can't seem to fix. I've gone through the troubleshooting guides and FAQs already and they aren't resolving the issue.
My normal setup is a couple of desktop speakers plugged to the rear of the card through the standard ports (non-digital) and a headset with mic plugged to the device in front that includes volume controls for both mic and speakers.
I've just did a complete reinstall of Windows XP (32 bit) including everything up through SP3 and a reinstall of the drivers and associated software applications for the card as well.
The problem I am having is that I can no longer make the rear speakers (desktop speakers) play when plugged in. The 2 headset speakers still play just fine that are plugged in the front however.
What should I do to resolve this issue so that I can have both the desktop speakers and headset speakers both playing? I'm fairly sure I'm just missing a setting somewhere but for the life of me I can't figure where to fix this.
    Thank you,
    Culann HS

JRe: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs0 I'm afriad that the CMSS3D option did not work? ? I still cannot get any speakers to play out of the rear of the soundcard.
As I said before, the goal is to try to get sound to play out of both the headset and the speakers attached to the rear of the soundcard simuntaneously.
The headset is plugged into one of those devices in the front that is in a 5 & /4" bay that has the individual knobs for adjusting volume for the headset and outbound levels for the microphone.
The speakers are plugged into the back of the soundcard and do not play any sound in any of the sockets, starting from the firewire port and counting 3 over.
Any suggestions? I? thought it might have something to do with the setting of the speakers from control panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices -> Advanced and picking the right choice there. No luck however. Same for the Creative Speaker Settings as well.
I'm at wits end and I'd be very thankful to whoever can resolve this for me. =)

  • Iphone 3G S speaker issues with SMS

My new iphone has a speaker issue. When I get a text message, email, or alert the first one sounds like the speaker is blown out or distorted. However, if I go into setting to recreate the sound, it's normal. It seems to be just on the first text if the phone has been sitting for like 5 minutes. I called Apple and they said to do a restore and set up as a new phone. Did that and it is still doing it. Has anyone else had this problem or swapped their phones out yet? Just want to know if this is a hardware or software issue. I am leaning towards software because if it was hardware wouldn't it do it everytime?

I believe it may be a Sofware problem. Others are having various issues with sound as well...

  • Nokia N95 8GB Speaker issue???

I just bought Nokia N95 8GB version and I was excited all about it. I have setup most of the softwares and settings that I had on my old N80 and I was going to enjoy the music by playing it on the new N95 8GB. However the sound is coming out from the normal speaker (where you put your ear to chat) and not off from the speakers on the side of the phone. When I'm receiving the call or message the sound is coming out from there but all the softwares are using the small speaker for talking and it's very annoying as I cannot hear anything..
If anyone knows the solution to this issue please let me know how I could solve it. I have tried to upgrade my firmware but it keeps coming up that there isn't any new one as yet.

it could be a hard wear issue or contact with moisture try the following
Reset to factory defaults (*#7780#) : Restores settings
Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.
    Hard reset:
    1. Switch off the phone.
    2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
    3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
    4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • E71 - Replacement issue by Nokia India (disappoint...

    Dear All,
Kindly find below the last email i wrote to Nokia Care in regards to my issue. Today (18nov) i got a replacement. My brand new E71 is replaced with a faulty used handset. Scratches on the panel, dust inside the display, stickers on the board, ink marks on battery.
I rushed to the nokia care who casually responded saying they will send the phone back to Delhi and Nokia will decide what to do.
Very disappointed with this i informed them that i will be taking legal action if i dont get a proper response from nokia in a couple of days. Im resubmitting my handset tomorrow.
This email is to let everyone know my bad experience with the Nokia. Any suggestions are most welcomed.
    Dated : (09nov2010)
    Dear Sir/Ma'am,
Sub : E-71 replacement due to manufacture defect.
After 20days i got my Brand New E71 back from Delhi assuring me that the software problem it had has now been rectified. The phone was returned with minor scratches on plastic panel and ink marks on battery i excepted it and used it for a day but the very next day the phone started acting even more worst, i rushed to the Nokia care and i reported the issue.the phone was showen to the manager with the problem. They agreed that there is a Major issue, due to diwali holiday i was asked to come back on Sat (06/11) I wasnt able to use the phone till then. I made clicked screenshots of my phone whenever it froze (just like last time) please refer the attachment for the screenshots. On 06th i submitted my phone again to NCC this time since they witnessed the problem and im given some hopes saying the phone will be replaced and they would get back to me within 15days.
Im very frustrated and disappointed with all this. 14000rs brand new handset hardly used is having a manufacture defect and its so hard to get it rectified or replaced. Im very much upset with Nokia, according to me if the phone is having an issue which cannot be fixed it should be replaced without a second thought because i have paid for it and i feel the pinch.
I want a Manager or a Supervisor to attend to this case ASAP. I have a proof and the job sheets and i have all right to go to the consumer court if im not given a replacement.
    Old Job Sheet # 320465550/101019/72

Agreed, Nokia is a waste of time, their support is pathetic. I have an E52, would be a good phone if everything worked as advertised. Problems with the speaker and random battery trouble make the phone kinda pointless, i mailed Nokia letting them know of my problems. ALL THEY SAY IS TAKE IT TO A CARE POINT, i state that there is no nokia care point in my city, they reply: We strongly recommend you take it to a care point. They don't respond to any questions or anything else.
Nokia is releasing phones extremely fast, and as a result it fails for a year or 2. I agree legal action should be taken, otherwise they never going to give a damn about end - users who pay for their products but get **bleep** in return.
I will most likely not buy a nokia phone again. Seriously pathetic support. Was thinking of getting Android OS phone, Acer Liquid Metal looks cool.

  • Routing issue with Nokia Drive on Lumia 900

So I finally tried to use Nokia Drive on a real trip (in New Jersey, USA) and I've noticed that the software often seems stuck on returning you to the originally plotted route when you deviate from it, instead of finding the best remaining route based on the new location. I'll give details for my particular trip in case this is a local issue.
We decided to take the NJ Turnpike to route 18 to River Road to Interstate 287 instead of 295 to 206 to 287 as Nokia Drive recommended (the routes are roughly equivalent in travel time, so I don't fault this initial route selection). When we entered the Turnpike, the new route kept trying to get us to 295 until we passed Exit 7 (In reality, past Exit 5 there isa considerable penalty to getting off the turnpike and onto I 295).
Finally, after Exit 7 it decided we should stay on the turnpike and get to 287 directly using Exit 10 (This too is roughly equivalent in travel time, so it was a reasonable suggestion). Once we took Exit 9 to route 18 instead it picked a different route than the one we are familiar with and this is where the biggest problem occurred. The route it suggested would enter 287 North at Exit 7, while the route we took entered 287 at Exit 9. It kept insisting we get back on its rout and get on at exit 7 to the point that when we were about to enter 287 at exit 9, it told us to get onto 287 *south* and take it to exit 7 where we would exit the highway and immediately re-enter it northbound. This is rediculous and should never have been suggested.
Am I right in my assessment that the software tries to stick to the original route instead of calculating a new one on the spot? What possible advantage can there be in doing it this way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Boris

Here is a quite stupid example on route recalculation and how it tries to return to the route originally suggested. The recalculated route suggests that I turn right, drive a few meters and then make a U-turn. The error is not in map data itself. The other picture shows that turning left is not forbidden.

  • Special characters issue with Nokia Maps on N95

    Hi there,
when using Navigation in conjunction with Nokia Maps on my N95, all streets and towns which contain any special character in their name (for example: é, è, ü, ä, ö, etc…) do appear as unreadable garbage on the screen of the N95.
I only noticed the problem after having purchased the 3 years license Navigation upgrade (EUR 99.99) and immediately notified Nokia. That was back in October. Since then I have called them at least 10 times and ultimately I have asked for a refund as no solution is still available.
In all these calls with Nokia, the only reasonable argument I heard was that maybe (!!!) the new software update version 20.0.015 released back at the end of November could solve the issue. Unfortunately, for my phone (which is a branded one) the update is not yet available.
Today, after calling them again, I was told that Nokia’s policies do not foresee refunds and therefore my request has been rejected. I was told to bring my phone to a Nokia Store and see if they can help me (I don’t see how). I was also told that maybe I would have to send-in the phone for repair.
This is soooo frustrating that despite the 3 months of patience and all the money spent for the N95 (not quite cheap), the navigation upgrade and the phone calls to Nokia, I still have the same issue. I will probably end up filing a complaint with a monthly consumer’s magazine in the hope they will publish my story.
After all, it may not even be Nokia’s fault but rather the guys who are responsible for the maps, but if Nokia accepts to have a commercial venture with a vendor, than they also accept liability for the joint product. And by turning down my legitimate request for refund, they have proven not to give a **bleep** about people like you and me.
Forgive me for the long post - needed to release some of the frustration...

I have been using an N95-8GB since Nov.'07. From my experience with this phone that has a built-in mass memory besides the phone memory. I had trouble retrieving some of the softwares I have installed. For eg. I have saved some themes in the mass memory & I could not find it when I want to delete it. There are some 3rd parties games software inside where I cannot even delete
This is what I don't like about the phone. I have bought an N82/Black recently as it uses an external memory card.
Coming back to Nokia maps. Personnaly, I don't think they are that good & I have problem downloading it into my phone from my PC after having downloaded it from Nokia.
By the way the Nokia map is not even the latest map 2.0. Is still a 1.0
I used Navfone map software & it works OK in the 8GB. You have to purchase it.
    I have used a couple of N-series phones in the past ie. N-90, N-70, N-71, N-73, N-80/Black, N95, N-95/8GB & now N-82.
Common with all N-series phones. After you have disconnected when you are done with your call you have to wait for a while before the word "disconnected" disappears.
The more features it has, the more problem you are gonna to encounter.
Unless you want to download softwares into your phone & have a good camera thats where the N series phones come in.
For normal usage, a 40 series phone will suffice.

  • GPL Software issue in Nokia Ovi Suite

    Hi,
I am trying to highlight an issue I posted earlier, about Nokia launching multiple ffdshow processes. This time with a better title maybe...
    See original link here:
    /t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Multiple-FFDShow-processes-on-tray-with-Ovi-suite/m-p/778528
And if the link gets broken, google the topic with title: "Multiple FFDShow processes on tray with Ovi Suite"
There are three issues I think should be discussed:
    1. Why NokiaMServer is launcing so many processes?
    2. What is it doing? Converting video, but why?
    3. Ffdshow is GPL'd library. Wouldn't it make NokiaMServer at least to fall under GPL licence?

Nokia's software would only have to be released under the GPL if it linked to GPL'ed software, ie. if it incorporated it into its own libraries. If it only invokes GPL'ed software (even if that GPL'ed software is bundled with it) then there are no such constraints. If there were, you'd have to release Windows under GPL as well since it can invoke GPL'ed software through ShellExecute().
Also, the software you mention looks like it is based on ffmpeg, which is normally released under the LGPL (but can be released under GPL in certain circumstances).

    Hi,
I am facing the below error while signing to Lync on my E6.
Can't verify the certificate from the server. Check your device's clock settings, or contact your system administrator”
Help needed what needs to be done in this case.
    Best Regards,
    Priyabrata

Hello everyone, quick message to highlight that the issue described above persists even when upgrading to the latest version of Nokia Belle for Nokia E6.
I see that's almost 1 year that this issue was reported.
We would all be particularly grateful to get a feedback from Nokia as using Lync would definitely be a plus, placing the E6 on the same (competitive) level of any Samsung Galaxy mobile (which are not reported to face this issue).
    Thanking you very much.

  • Known Issue in Nokia Lumia 720 - Virtual keys stop...

Hi Nokia lumia 720 bottom virtual keys stops working after some time.............. only solution is to replace screen which costs 7000....     Is there any permanent solution? pls help

Did you try any troubleshooting steps ?
    1.Simple Reboot
    2. Soft Reset : Press and hold Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds). - All data will remain intact
    3. Factory Reset : settings-->about-->reset your phone - Data will be erased and phone will need re-setup from start
    4. Nokia Software Recovery Tool - Data will be erased and phone will need re-setup from start.
If nothing from the above solves it, it's an Hardware issue that needs to be attended by Nokia care technician... which may lead to a spares replacement.
