Probably good that you gave it in to a Nokia Service Centre.

I have Nokia N73 and in start very big problem. Sometimes someone which I speak with complain that hear me very bad, with noise, sound like a robot (Level of signal on the both sides is exelent). It is a new phone, and I sent it to Nokia servis. They reinstalled software and sent me phone back, but after 2 or 3 days I used a bluetooth headset in the car and the problem reappeared. The same thing was when I disconected bluetooth headset. In a setup of phone there is one option "Network mode" with 3 suboptions: Dual mode, UMTS and GSM. Initialy it was setup on Dual mode. I changed to GSM. After reseting phone the problem was disappeared, but I am not sure that the problem is solved.
I'll be very greatfull if anybody know what is the problem, and posibly solution.

I have the exact same problem. Everything works great exept for the fact that everyone I speak to using Bluetooth headsets complain that I sound "tinny", "weak" or "robot-like".
I've tried with two different headsets (Jabra JX10 and Nokia BH-200) and the problem is the same. I have also tried to reset the headsets, delete pairing and pair them all over again - still the same problem.
Seems like the Bluetooth and 3G signals/frequencies may interfere with each other or something.
The wired headset that came with the phone works without problems. Problem is only there when using Bluetooth headsets.
    Any solution?

    Michael

  • N73 and parrot ls3200

I have a problem with my n73 and my parrot ls3200. I had another phone some time ago and it was fine with the bluetooth device, but when i connect my nokia on the parrot's display i cant load the phonebook. I can speak or dial but only by numbers i cant use my names at all. If someone know how to fix it help me pls.

    Hi
Thank you Parrotboy, I can not see that the Parrot is at fault because I have done a couple of tests.
1)My phone has the same problem with a Parrot in a other car
2)My Parrot works fine paired up with someone else phone.
So it's got to be in the phone somewhere.
It's been so good for a while, can these problem just happen and if so why?

  • Suggest improvements for nokia n73 and other devic...

Nokia n73 is the most succsesful device ever made by nokia. But you noticed that the images taken by the n73 are little blury and the video is also poor. If theres is nothing harware problem why not nokia fix theme with software update. Why not nokia try to make n73 just like n78. This will be great if nokia update n73 software and fix the problem. N78 also powerfull device but its buttons make it lazy. N78 will be more greater if its button replaced with bigger and esiar. And the improved new device will launched n78i.

I would not bother getting a nokia at the moment.....
If you can live without nokia drive for now then i would hold back for atleast 6 months and see what happens.
Nokia have slipped down the chain a bit and are not as almighty as they use to be.
There are loads of probs with the Lumia 800 and the 710 is not all that good compared to nokia's of old.
I got the 710 because of nokia drive and it is no where near as good as the old Ovi navigation...
In fact the whole phone is a let down....with poor camara, poor sat nav, poor speaker and poor battery...
The Actual phone is a nice design and the screen is not bad...WP7.5 looks interesting but still needs a lot of work to catch up with the others.
Not sure what the Omnia is like...but if i knew then what i know now about the 710 i would of gone for the HTC Radar and just used my N8 for Sat Nav.

  • Nokia 5310 - Headphones not working, only speaker ...

    Hi all,
Am I missing something blatantly obvious??  I've just unwrapped my new 5310, plugged in a standard set of headphones (not the nokia ones) - but no sound comes out of them, just through the phone speaker
Should it work with any headphones, or am I tied to using Nokia ones?  Headphones are OK and work everywhere else.
Also, when I plug in the headphones it displays: "Enhancement not supported"
    Help please!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Nokia 5310 has a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. So, theoretically it is possible to plug in any headphone having a compatible header. In your case, I guess the connector on the headphone is a bit longer, and because of that, it might be missing the contacts inside the jack. Pull out the connector sligthly, or press it in a bit, and see if it helps. Also, try a different set of earphones too, to confirm that your jack is working fine.
    Cheers,

  • N73 Chinese Language (Phone Language and Writing L...

Hi, I'm new here, however I face a problem after updating the firmware of my N73 to V4.0736.3.2.1 that is it cannot read chinese language which makes SMS-ing hard. Can anyone kindly suggest me a solution?
I've tried using Hong Kong's NSU and etc. It's still the same and frankly speaking, all the updates only comes with English, Malaysia, Pilipino, Indonesia but no Chinese.
    Thanks!

I wanted to buy this phone in HK, and if i had bought it there everything would be great. But they had it sold out, so i tried to buy it in Holland, then Belgium, France but the price was killing ( double the HK's price). Finally i found it in Bulgaria at a reasonable price.
Now i am in the middle of a big struggle how to make it read and write simplified chinese. Some friends told me that it is easily done if i go to a 'service' and they FLASH my phone, but as i know that after your phone has been flashed, it is usually ready to be thrown away, i dont really dare to do that, so i thought that there could be a better solution.
E-71 is my phone, and this one is a really masterpiece !
I want to tell Nokia that they finally did a phone that is working! I have been using Nokia for 10 years, and this is the first one which is really good !
All the other **bleep** i had is so slow that you can take a nap between commands.
    thanks for the reply !
I will go to ask Nokia, but i know that the result is.

  • N73 - headset volume

Hi can anybody help me I have just received my N73 happy with it so far but then tried to watch tv on it to find that the volume was so low I could not hear anything - I had maxed all the volume settings including the headset.
also the headset is not great due to the mic being so low down that you have to hold it near your mouth to speak on it has anybody used an alternative particularly with less wires to tangle.
I also have tomtom 6 for windows and symbian - will this run on a n73?
    Thanks
    Sam

Nokia has decreased the volume level due to European Union health regulations. Apple's new iPods are also coming with decreased volume.  I know this really sucks,
ok, But this is my phone and my ears, Right?
i know that it shouldn't be loud
so i well make the loud low
but some times i need to make it loud, for just me i'm free of doing wut i want
    just like cigarets and alchol
finally i'm not under the European Union health regulations

  • CK 7W with N73 & Remote Button voice dialling

Hi wonder if any one can help me ,I have the ck 7w car kit and a n73 when I connect the phone to the ck 7w via blue tooth I can use the remote button to activate voice dialling and every think works as it should do. BUT if I connect it using the supplied cable to the pop port when I press the remote button it doesn’t activate the voice dialling just gives out a bump sound in the speaker .The phone works in every other aspect with the kit attached via the pop port .I bought the ck 7w to use the cable and a holder as I was fed up with my ear type blue tooth dropping out with the phone and while I know the phone works correctly with the ck 7w via blue tooth I didn’t want to use this option and stay within the law as best as possible by not touching the phone while driving. Hope its something simple and not that the kit doesn’t work with the cable would be so disappointed as it’s a nokia product.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards Malcolm

Sorry perhaps my post was unclear.
The problem was fixed - by changing the phone.
The car kit was fine and not touched, the phone was changed for a different phone and it works well.

  • N73 cant call from contacts

    Dear Nokia Support Community
It seems that my N73 cannot make calls from within the address book. For example, I would highlight one of my contacts, and press the green button. Under normal circumstances, this should call the contact, however, nothing happens when I do so on my phone.
This symptom occurs after the following: I call a telephone number, I let it ring once, and I hang up without them picking up. Then when I try to call within contacts, the bug appears.
The bug disappears when I restart, however, it reoccurs when I do the above.
This does not seem to be an isolated case (I have read forums where other loyal Nokia users have had the same problem), is there anyone who knows anything about this? I have the latest firmware (V 3.0638.0.0.43) yet this is still occuring.
I sent it to be repaired, but all they did was give it a hard restart with a re installation of the firmware.
Nothing seems to help. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated,

same is the problem here... i cannot call contacts on my n73 by pressing the green button nd even can't on the speaker during the conversation.......!!!!
but after restarting the phone, it works fine form a day or two, but the problem persists....
PLZ NYONE CAN SOLVE DIS PROBLEM....????

  • N73 "advanced" camera settings ?

I have recently got an N73 for myself to replace a **bleep**py V3. Quite a complex phone to get around - my last Nokia was a 6310i - but the one area that disappoints in the camera software.
I notice that on the N80, which is basically the same camera and Symbian OS, there are a range of advanced camera settings which do not exist on the N73. Specifically, the ones that interest me are "sharpness" (which should be set to none / minimal for any descent chance of a good photograph) and the JPEG quality setting. Saturation would be nice too, but hey.
It feels like they are set to "high" and "low" respectively - which is great for a consumer's "gosh! wow!" type thing but speaking as a keen photographer it makes the N73's camera pretty useless except for taking pictures of car accidents and documents.

Am I sure about documents in what sense ? The N80 manual clearly mentions a sharpness setting and I threw the JPEG quality / compression parameter in as an example of a good thing to be able to change. Perhaps you can expand on your question ?

  • Transferring from N73 to N95

    Hi
Can anyone help me. I got a N95 last week, and some how I managed to delete folders in it!! I was trying to delete my music which wouldn't play. Any way after speaking to Nokia my music now works, but I can not get my contacts and messages to transfer from my N73 to N95. I was trying to transfer them by blue tooth. I have tried so many times now. I also don't have a cable to connect my N73 to computer to do it that way. Have I deleted something that I shouldn't have. Can you tell me how to transfer my contacts?
    Thanks

a simple way to transfer things is to use the " data transfer" application found on your N73 to send data to the N95 through bluetooth. as i believe the app can be found under tools or utilities.
if you have sync your contacts with a computer , you can sync again and let the computer restore you contacts back.
another method which is lengthy is to use the memory card:
1- Make sure your memory card is inserted in your old phone.
2- Launch Contacts application and then select Options | Mark/Unmark | Mark all. It will select all contacts you have on the phone.
3- Copy all the contacts to the memory card by selecting Options | Copy | To memory card.
4- Now you have your contacts in the memory card. They are stored in vCard format under \Others\Contacts folder.
5- The next step is to transfer your vCard files to the new phone. If your phones use the same format of memory card, for example Mini SD, it is much easier. Simply remove your memory card from the old phone and then insert it in the new phone.
5- What should you do if your phones use different format of memory cards, for example one is using Mini SD and another one is using RS MMC? You need to transfer the files using memory card on your PC. Copy all the files under \Others\Contacts folder from one memory card to the other one.
6-OK, now you have the memory card inserted on your new phone. Launch Contacts application then select Options | Copy | From memory card. It will import all the vCard files from the memory card to your Contacts application.

  • Speaker on iPhone

    This thing is a disaster.
At a resturant trying to show people a youtube video.
After loading up on the iPhone after 5mins, I go to play it, and every single person sitting at my table was like *WE CANNOT HEAR IT*... and im like uhhhh...._the Volume is turned all the way up_, and these people are like not even 2 feet away from me.
    WORTHLESS the speakphone is.
The only good place for you to use this speakerphone/speaker is _in a car_ by yourself, or _in a bathroom_, or somewhere where there is no people talking or noise what so ever.
I have a friend who has a Nokia N73, and her speakerphone _is so loud_ when she plays something back, everyone tells her to lower it hahaha...
So ends up, I couldnt play the youtube video for my friends at the resturant because the volume is _too low_ on the iPhone in public areas. Then there comments come out... iphone is garbage, why did you buy that thing, we cant hear nothing, return it, go buy another phone, ect ect ect....
    Waste..

thanks for the answers. this is what i found when i googled it. i guess my question is how come my co-worker has sound coming from his left "speaker" then?
    newer version?
its not possible all iphones are manufactured the same your probably hearing the sound come through there from the OTHER speaker there is no iphone 4 with 2 speakers or the speakers switched
