Speaker Phone does not shut off

I can not hear caller unless on speaker or blue tooth. they can hear me. I have tried everything. Pulled battery, Pulled Sim, skimmed through settings, they look fine to me. I did not drop my device. Anyone have a fix?

try to press 'activate handset' while making a call and check the volume.

You should try taking it to the Apple Store and asking for a replacement.
Or you could enable Assistive Touch from Settings>General>Accessibility.

It says that on my iPod not on iTunes andI am connected to USB and I'm not even completly sure what a firewire port is and yes I do press eject everytime im done using iTunes and take out my iPod....I'm Stumped

1. Try a different USB port on your computer.
2. If that doesn't work, try a different cable to connect your iPod,
3. If the above two steps do not work, check the connector on the bottom of your iPod and make sure there are no bent pins.

My MBP 13 does not shut off

Hi everyone, my new MBP does refuse to shut off or restart. I have had it for less than two weeks. It gives me a message that some applicattion is running (different applicattion, depending on what i have been using). In force quit there is nothing, It looks it is not able to extit Finder. I need to shut pressing the power switch every time. I read a previous discussion but I have nothing running in backgroung, no time-machine, no peer-to-peer, no external device.
Any clue?
Anybody things I should try to give the machine back to apple?

I'm trying to help my Dad; he has a new MBP and it won't shut down properly for him either. We've used the myriad of keyboard shortcuts and they work for a while and then they don't work anymore.
I read a technique elsewhere on the web that could maybe work (No guarantees-don't hold me to this; it's just something I read by googling this topic). Turn the laptop off, unplug it and take out the battery and hold down the power button for 2 minutes - then connect the laptop with the power cable without the battery and do a few restarts - this may cure it I've read. But I can't be certain of this and holding down the power button seems suspect to me so....

ITunes does not shut off

After having used iTunes the program only can be shut off via ctrl alt del. I have the latest update from XP and iTunes installed. Does anybody have a solution for this problem?

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW. Have ALL of these steps been tried?
If you've been through ALL these steps and still have problems, you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

my ipod classic, after being removed "unsafely" from the computer, now it is impossible to shut it off.

Speaker phone does not work

My iphone speaker suddenly stopped working, if I connect head set it works fine.

Yes all systems received a full reboot. I have an appointment with them tomorrow. Sadly its past the 90 day warrantee for there work so I have a feeling they will try to charge me. I was hoping to have exhausted all options or to go in with a clear understanding of the cost. Worst part is my MAC book is having a sound card issue as well where it believes the headphones are plugged in when they are not apparently when it comes to MAC and my music I am doomed.

Display sleep and computer sleep can be adjusted in System Preferences -> Energy Saver. It may be that Display sleep is set for Never, which will keep the screen on as long as the computer is on.

I have an older nano (4th gen?) and it will not shut off and when you try to skip through songs it skips itself back. Buttons seem to be pushing themselves. I've tried doing a hard reset and it did not work.

My older nano is not working. I have to keep it plugged in all the time because it does not shut off. The buttons only work sometimes and then they scroll and skip forward and backward by themselves. I have checked updates and I have also reset it back to factory and it is not working.

Phone will not power off

Phone does not power off. It only does in safe mode. Once in safe mode still can not normally power off but only on safe mode.
Any advise?

It is not supposed to swtich off when you close the cover. It is supposed to go to sleep. Check Settings>General>Lock/Unlock>On. If the iPad is already set up that way, try resetting the device and see if that fixes it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
