Speaker problem "stuck" to headphone-mode ?

Got some problems with the speaker right now.. I can't hear the person calling me.. But if I use headphones it will work.. It's like the phone is stuck to headphone-mode, or what to say, Can't hear music from spotify/youtube from the speaker, I can listen to the ringtones in the settings, But i can't listen to music / hear people calling me..
I have restarted the phone like 5 times and nothing happens,. I also tried to reset the phone..
Anyone got the same problem ?.

Check the headphone jack for debris one more time. The symptoms certainly suggest that debris is the cause. Shine a light down in there.(Be Careful)
Restore "As a New Device". The backup can put a glitch back on the phone. If that does not work, use your warranty. If you are out of warranty, restore again and unplug to test before choosing from backup or as new(sometimes corrupted data on the iphone can cause strnage behavior).
If all else fails check on price of out of warranty repair.

  • IPhone4 - Stuck in Headphone mode

Ok, My iPhone4 is completely stuck in headphone mode.
It was in my pocket today and it did get slightly damp (freaking rain).
any-case, I really do not know what to do, I've tried using compressed air to blow into the jack etc, No luck.
    Restoring. No luck.
    Rebooting. No luck..
    What should I do?

    Randomphil,
Same issue here.  It looked like most of the fixes for this problem you see out there were posted by owners of the iphone 3 & earlier, and none of them worked on my 4 -- not to mention, I hadn't put headphones in since the last time I used the onboard speaker.  I think the issue was actually fixed with the 4 as I never have had this problem until now, despite using various non-iPhone headphones for months now.
My phone was in my glove box for a few hours during a foggy day, and when I got back to the car, a small amount of condensation appeared on it when I was handling it - probably due to the quick temperature increase from nearly freezing to being in my hands.  Now that I've had time to think clearly instead of rushing to my phone, I realize that, yes, this commonly happens with electronics, even if you're not getting them wet, the condensation in the air can quickly soak into your phone - especially during a rapid temperature change - and cause potential issues, although they are usually minor.  Need to allow time for the moisture to dry before using the phone.
I saw your comment yesterday and decided to give it a try.  About 3 hours in a tightly sealed bag of rice seems to have wicked out all the moisture, and it works fine now.
    Thanks!

  • My iPodtouch 5th generation is stuck in headphone mode, while no headphones are present! Please help!

Hello to any others out there with my issue and have found a solution!
My ipod touch 5th gen is brand new! Just purchased this product end of July and I love it to death. Today however I ran into an issue that I simply cannot solve on my own. I was oovoo when my ipod randomly cut off and now it is stuck in headphone mode! I haven't even used my headphones all day so I really do not understand. I am not one of those people who drops their electronics or spills liquids on it (no offense) so there should be no reason for this issue. I have tried EVERYTHING sensical to fix this but now I'm lost. please if anyone with the same issue has fixed theirs, please let me know the secret. I mean I didn't spend 350$ for this to happen within 30 days.
    Thank you for your time!

  • Getting stuck in Headphone mode not necessarily a hardware issue, is it?

I've read on the net that cleaning the headphone jack can correct this issue. I've also read that inserting the headphones and removing them many times (I think I've seen 7 or 8 times) can also correct the issue. None of these issues worked for me.
What I did notice is that the presence of my headphones was indeed being detected. With the headphones plugged-in, I set the volume to a low volume, for example. With the headphones removed, I set the volume near maximum. Mind you, the phone is in Headphone mode, and won't normally play out of the speaker. But when you insert the headphones, in this example, the volume jumps to the low setting, and when the headphones are removed, the volume jumps to the near maximum setting.
So insertion and removal of the headphones is indeed detected. So this isn't a hardware issue, then, is it? There's got to be something else going on.

Well, I backed up, erased, and restored to get proper functionality. No longer stuck in headphone mode. I tried compressed air, and cleaning the jack. Those attempts didn't fix me. I believe it's just a bug that will eventually get fixed, or a setting that will reset the logic associated with the headphone.

  • HOW TO GET MY IPHONE 4S OUT OF BEING STUCK IN HEADPHONES MODE? I TRIED BLOWING IT, I TRIED SUCKING IT AND I TRIED THE QU TIP, ALSO FREEZING AND PLUGGING AND UNPLUGGING THE HEADPHONES. I ALSO RESTORED IT AND PUT IT IN DFU MODE AND STILL NOTHING.

How do i get my iphone 4s out of being stuck in headphones mode. When i dont even have headphones plugged in, it says headphones ringer. I've tried blowing and sucking in the jack, didnt work. I tried using a blowdrier in the jack, didn't work. I also tried putting it in the freezer while in a plastic bag, trying to clean it with a qu tip, and plugging and unplugging the headphones more than 100 times, still nothing and i also restored, reset, and put my iphone in DFU mode, and still nothing seems to work. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY OTHER WAY I NEED HELP PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! ANYONE ANY OTHER WAYS TO FIX IT?!?!??!? That would be very helpful

I had the same problem.  I squirted a drop of WD40 in the headphone hole and then used a plastic dental toothpick and twisted it around in the hole.  It amazingly worked.
    Good luck

  • My ipod 4g is stuck in headphone mode!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!

my ipod 4g is stuck in headphone mode and i tried EVERYTHING but no solution HELP I DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY IPOD FOR ANOTHER ONE !!!!! I really want to hear all my stuff without using my headphones every second of the day!!! PLEASE!!!!!

If restoring from backup did not solve the problem you have a problem with the headphone jack.  If under warranty Apple will replace it under warranty.  There are third-partys places that can replace it too.  Yu can, if you are capible, replace it yourself.  See:
    iFixit: The free repair manual
    One third-party place:

Saying you tried everything provides little information since we do not know what your "everything" is.

  • Stuck on headphone mode and no headphones are connected

my phone is stuck on headphone mode there i have no sound unless i plug in head phones

I'm having the same problem. I have read on a number of forums that plugging and unplugging headphones rapidly solves the issue. I'm yet to be convinced. A friend of mine tells me that if the phone gets too hot then it trips the headphone mode on. There experience was that the fault was current when they visited their local genius bar for help. The advisor took the phone into the back for about 20 mins. He re-imerged saying that there was some debris stuck in the socket. He took the phone away and within 3 hours the same problem happened again. I guess this problem is one that Apple won't own up to and have no fix for. I really wished I had opted for the 3GS as this is my 3rd iPhone 3G since November 2009!!

    Hello, Hethmarti
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPhone indicates that it is stuck in headphone mode.  Try connecting a set of headphones and removing them.  You may need to repeat this procedure multiple times.  If this does not resolve the issue try the additional troubleshooting steps in the attached article below.

My IPhone 4S is stuck in headphone mode.  I have tried everything from putting my phone in rice overnight, blowing and sucking air in the headphone jack, and hard resetting it but nothing is working!  Please help!!

    Hello manhay,
The following article provides some additional troubleshooting that can help restore audio to your iPhone's speaker.
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, please contact Apple Support.
